A ring of conifer tree silhouettes directing the viewer’s eye up to the sky above. This fabric print - sized for a 6-inch embroidery hoop - creates a design base for your creative project or as is for a hoop art print. Use the space for simple embroidery, stitching in a few knots for your own constellations, or fill in the trees for a 3D, textured effect and more involved project. My kofi backers got one of these with their April sticker rewards. I’ll be putting them up in the shop there soon!

The combination of soy & lime (slaked/pickling) is an amazing way to make a resist paste for printing designs on textile. With the help of a cold tannin-rich dye source like tea, you can bring warm natural tones to the fiber while keeping the white undertones as part of the overall pattern. It is reverse printing at its best! Join me as I create soy lime resist paste from scratch & make a polka dot design on cotton using black tea as the natural dye color.

Halloween Blouse complete! Only took ... seven months, five if you don’t count the gap in the middle where I stopped working on it after realizing it wouldn’t be ready by Halloween 2022.
A handsewn button-up shirt printed in Halloween-themed novelty fabrics. The shirt front and inside collar are printed with small leaves, the yoke, sleeve cuffs, and undercollar are printed with candy corn, the sleeves are printed with spiderwebs, and the shirt back, collar flap, and patch pockets are printed with pumpkins.
[Three photos, showing the shirt on a wooden table, face up, on its side, and facedown.]

A new picture of the snow-covered pine trees embroidery project concept I'd like to offer. Two ideas for this print, one as a piece with minimal stitching details, highlighting the 3D effect of snow on the trees like the above hooped sample. For the other, I think a wider color palette version with the trees fully stitched out - and maybe a piece of light felt for foreground snow - sounds pretty too.

Please don't forget the ants!
Tumblr media
STOP STOP STOP Stop, making festive "bug print" fabrics, quilt patterns, children's books and drawings that include "mix of bugs" but don't contain a single ANT.
Tumblr media
I know how you artists are. You never skip the butterfly because of the colors. You never skip the beetle because of the ... shape. You never skip a centipede or millipede because of the legs. You never skip the spider because of the LORE. But ants are "boring" --right? NO WRONG
Tumblr media
Ants are everything. Ants are the most successful members of the most successful group of land animals on the planet!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A nature drawing without ants is like a forest without leaves. Like night sky... without any stars. Do not forget the ants. Know the ants have not forgotten you!

I made a stencil of my recent sticker design. Turned out kinda epic. I'll make a back patch for my faux leather jacket with this. 🤩
