Tsumugi: Thank goodness everything was able to start without a hitch~ I was quite worried but I’m glad it’s turned into something the company had in mind ♪

Natsume: The person from the company was still as abstract as ever in their wording, thouGH. They gave off the impression that they would enjoy any sort of intense performanCE.

Tsumugi: Natsume-kun! You can’t say that about our sponsor! You never know who’s listening in!

Natsume: I’ve already checked our surroundings so it should be fiNE. You’re such a worrywaRT.

Doll then notice who was kuma holding in his arms, it was kitty who’s unharmed by the petrifaction of Hallow.

Kuma: (* ˊᵕˋㅅ) if you don’t mind, the reason I called you out is to move us out of public eyes before certain someone sees this an opportunity to strike back some old scores.

Doll sighs and think of a solution right away as the others probably close behind. He quickly move kuma frozen form in a safe location (his room that is anti blood )with kitty before he put a cover over the two so they won’t get cold.

When he come back to the place he sees a mess with NN trying to kill someone again. It seems someone have a death wish.

The thought had been linger in her mind, festering like a fungus that grew until it corrupted her every thought, cursing her like a hex. The resources currently at her disposal weren’t enough and, while she could reach out and try to find a witch who specialised in shadow magic, it made far too much sense to simply go to the source. Nobody was able to wield shadow magic like demons could. While she hadn’t picked up the distrust of demons in moving to the city, she had seen enough of their self-serving attitudes to knew she had to be cautious. 

Nobody seemed to care she was in Hedon and she moved along the street with ease. Spotting the club, Persephone decided it was now or never. The more chances she gave herself to question her choices, the more likely she was to change her mind. It had already taken a lot of decide to finally come here, she couldn’t back down now. The club was a lot at once, the lights and sounds and smells and noises. It took her a second to compose herself again. This was not a place she normally choose to be in, but she knew the demon who owned it specialised in shadow magic, and he was the right person to ask. Hopefully. She just didn’t know how to find him. 

It took everything for her to push her way through the crowd, ending up at the bar. If she had worn something a little more revealing, Persy was sure she would have gotten the bartender’s attention sooner but, eventually, she was able to ask about the owner. With a little bit of convincing, a server was called over to show her where he was. When she found him, he had someone kneeling beside him, vying for his attention.

I am out there for the whole gudaguda crew, they are the reason I still play the game probably because I laughed so fucking hard at gudaguda one and Nobu wanting to turn the holy grail into a bomb and the fourth ascension implying that she's inviting you to fuck? Everything was so hilarious and they had these serious moments too as the series went on further. Final Honnoji was wonderful too from Chief retainer Mash to Avenger Nobu, to Hijikata commanding the mini nobu squad while chowing down on chilled pickles! And Mori. OH MY GOD MORI.

I cannot wait until the next gudaguda where I will expand my shitpost roster with Mysterious Ranmaru X, who I only can HOPE aids Mori in being an absolute himbo. The fact that in 5 Nobukatsu gets everything he deserves only makes it better!

I have been deprived of any Okita for too long and now I can only imagine she and berserker Nobu will form an absolute dumbass unit and watch tv making stupid commentary on other type moon properties with Medusa and Artoria somewhere in the background.

Though here is the big question. WEN MONKEY?

Oh you and me there buddy, Gudaguda is the only reason I'm even still involved here and by god is it keepin me here. And yeah! There is so much Mori family bonding time in Gudaguda 6 you're gonna be so happy, Ranmaru X is basically one of the main forefronts and Nagayoshi is a very prominent party member.

Honestly, no complaints about 6 besides having a bit of difficulty keeping the names straight (there's a lot of important names that start with Ta-) and kind of same with 5, but I think 5 might've been impacted pretty heavily by reading it off machine translations. Still though, go in with a pencil and paper for the names for at least the first few episodes, it'll help a bunch.

That said, (I'll keep the spoilers to a minimum) 5 did suffer a bit from not knowing how to properly balance the upbeat seriousness of "getting shit done" and the dramatic seriousness of "incredibly emotional turn of events" leading to both instances feeling really out of place and hard to take seriously?? But while it was hard to take the actual incidents seriously they both had really strong impacts so please just assume both points (you'll know exactly when) are like. actually legitimately serious, I know I took the first for a joke until it was revealed it really wasn't a joke and so uh, yeah fair warning there lol

Honestly, I'm pretty surprised Toyotomi Hideyoshi hasn't shown up much yet? I believe in Redline/Koha-Ace(?) he's implied to have been in the previous HGW, and we've seen other instances of him in :RE flashbacks I believe, so I know he has potential to be summoned as a servant in some regard there, I just don't know if Gudaguda 2 established that as never gonna happen due to something something final boss of the event/cause of the singularity. But, I don't know if whatever happened there's enough to stop 'em from making Monkey properly summonable (or at least an NPC), so we'll have to see. Gudaguda 4 was all-in on the warring states, 5 was more for just shinsengumi, and 6 was mori but especially tosa people, so i could see an event focusing more on just the retainers now that we got Ranmaru X and Nagayoshi being buddy-buddy siblings. We'll have to see though.

Everybody Eats

My dad gasps when I tell him the price for a single cucumber at New World. “Seven dollars?! How are you supposed to feed yourself?” I always tell him that we manage just fine. We’re students. We’re supposed to struggle. Right?

I think Everybody Eats would beg to differ.

Everybody Eats is a charity restaurant, with a kaupapa of reducing food waste, food poverty, and social isolation in Aotearoa. These issues targeted are intersectional, with the “ability to solve each other”. Prior to our current cost of living crisis, “A 2014 global survey found one in six Kiwis ran out of money for food, meaning we have one of the worst food poverty problems in the developed world”. This case study aims to explore why young people are well-equipped to create transformational change to address the cost of living crisis.

As all previous case studies have demonstrated, the cost of living crisis encompasses many different structural injustices. Everybody Eats is specifically aiming to mitigate the structural injustice of food poverty. Food poverty is a structural injustice as it is mostly caused by a lack of money for food—a socio-structural position that restrains and limits one’s choices (Young 2011). This is also social-structural position that is often populated by young people and students.

To combat this, the organisation has chosen a pay-as-you-feel system of koha. The charity falls under the prefigurative politics and everyday organising forms of civic action. When founder Nick Loosley noticed the gap between food insecurity and food waste, he decided to redress this imbalance by living out his ideals in the present, stimulating change through prefigurative politics. Everybody Eats is also a form of everyday organising—a registered charity with Loosley as its leader, aiming to use donations to provide the communities in both Auckland and Wellington with free meals. This type of civic action follows an outside-in approach to change. Most of the upper management, including the founders, are hospitality professionals—none of them are involved in institutional politics. However, Loosley’s belief in prefigurative politics is his theory of change: “I had this hypothesis that if we cook and share food together, we might solve problems that we have within the food system”.

Everybody Eats is a prime example of how young people are well positioned to create change. I interviewed Ava, a 25 year old young professional who has been regularly volunteering at Everybody Eats since early 2021. She points out that although the volunteers span a range of ages, those in their 20s make up the biggest demographic. Ava attributes this largely to the rise in conversations about food waste and climate change in recent years. Many young people have grown up as stakeholders in these events, making them more likely to be aware and educated on the issue. Research on the Student Volunteer Army demonstrates that during times of crisis “people want to help”, and when given the opportunity, “they will just throw everything at it”. Thus, as young people are stakeholders in the issue, they may be more attracted to volunteer work that also addresses their own problems: “the best thing you could do for someone is give them an opportunity to help someone else”.

Founder and key stakeholder Loosley has a motto of “feed bellies, not the bin”. His goal is to provide “vulnerable people an opportunity to enjoy a dignified experience without feeling any guilt or stigma”, which is largely how the charity came about.

Diners are also a key stakeholder, with the majority of them unable to contribute a koha. One homeless diner sees Everybody Eats as not only a place for sustenance, but also a safe, warm space for social interaction. Another diner was there due to the rise in rent, leaving little money left over for food. For her, the charity provides her most nutritious meal of the week: “I really appreciate the vegetables these days, because vegetables are so expensive”.

There has been a dramatic increase in young volunteers and diners since the cost of living crisis. Ava has seen a significant change in the demographic of diners, particularly after the COVID19 restrictions were lifted, which was “quite frightening”. She observed a rise in young people and families as a consequence: “these kinds of services are so necessary now for lots of people just to get basic meals”. This aligns with the Green Party’s People’s Inquiry into Student Wellbeing, which found that in the months following the cost of living crisis, “22% (of students) were unable to afford food weekly or daily, rising to 32% fortnightly”.

From chefs to waiters, volunteers make of most of the organisation. Many of these are regulars who support Loosley’s ideals and concept, sharing a hatred for food waste. One volunteer admired how the charity tackled multiple issues in one, whilst bringing the community together. These volunteers are the backbone of the charity—they are the ones rescuing, making, and serving the food, so that the diners can enjoy it. They are implementing Loosley’s ideals. Ava admits that she volunteers there largely due to “selfish” reasons as it gives her “more of a rounded sense of fulfilment”. She also enjoys the community that Everybody Eats creates, with fellow young volunteers who provide a social environment. Ava mentions that a particularly special aspect of the organisation is how “the volunteers eat with the community that come in”, ensuring that there is no “disconnect between volunteer and recipient”. Volunteerism as a form of civic action “is recognised as an expression of social altruism and connectedness” and is “an important contributor to community psycho-social recovery”. Thus, young people also suffering from food poverty may be able to create a shared sense of belonging with the very community they are serving, making them more effective changemakers.

At the conclusion of our interview, Ava admitted that she did not see herself as a changemaker:

There are just these amazing, clever people who can save food that would be wasted…that can bring communities together and provide that social connectedness. I see those people as being the changemakers. And then what I can do is just to help these leaders make that happen.

Whilst Everybody Eats does continuously aim to create tangible change, there are a few inherent blind spots in the prefigurative and everyday organisation forms of civic action that mirror much of Ava’s rhetoric. Evidently, an issue with everyday organising is the disconnect that volunteers feel with leaders of their organisation. Like Ava, they may feel somewhat helpless in the wider political sphere, only playing a minute supporting role. Additionally, whilst the charity does manage to live out their ideals, they fail to infiltrate the institution itself—after all, Everybody Eats is just one actor lobbying against food poverty. As it only has two locations NZ-wide, there is still a critical issue of access for those in other regions. Furthermore, young people, who make up most of the organisation, still lack access to key positions of political power. These difficulties, especially in penetrating the institution, are all a direct consequence of structural injustice at work.

Nevertheless, this case study has proven the significance of young people taking on those supporting roles, like volunteering at Everybody Eats. With their ability to see eye-to-eye with the community, passion for the issue, and social-structural position, they are undeniably valuable changemakers for the cost of living crisis.

If you could make a trigger warning list for Tsukihime, what would be on it? There's a lot of people who are just getting interested in it with the remake (myself included) and I think having a tw list would be a really nice thing for those getting in now. If you can't remember every scene, a general list is good enough!

Oh boy.

Ohhhhhhhh boyyyyyyyyy.

Alright. So. A little bit of explanation: there's a reason why Nasu actually wants to remake this game. Tsukihime is by miles his darkest and most brutal work, and a lot of it is completely unnecessary edginess made by poor and almost literally starving Nasu and Takeuchi. Kara No Kyoukai wasn't exactly making waves, and the two were living on cup noodles and working other jobs to keep themselves afloat. To finish the VN Takeuchi even made Nasu quit his job and worked two in his stead (biking home in-between said jobs to do art) just so Nasu would have time to write. The nastiness of what they felt at the time is everywhere in the script, and it speaks to Nasu's talent that what came out wasn't complete edgelord garbage.

Did you ever read the original Fate/Stay Night? Did you get taken abrupt when Illya and Berserker first attack Shirou, Rin, and Saber, and Illya orders Berserker to behead Saber and rape the corpse so that Saber would rather die than continue to regenerate and fight? Did you think that kinda came out of nowhere and was unnecessary? The Realta Nua rerelease didn't just remove all the bad sex scenes, they removed lines like those entirely.

Tsukihime has waaaaaaaay more of that, and unlike Fate/Stay Night it couldn't easily edit all of them out and get rereleased without changing the story. It needed to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Personally, I've been so excited for the remake because Nasu has expressed regret before on how misogynistic his writing was before. Specifically he was asked in an interview about his focus on female characters in his works and he something like "I've been told before 'Nasu respects womens rights' because of all the powerful girls in my works, but looking back I can clearly see my own prejudices" especially singling out how Shirou treated Saber in the Fate route and how Tohno Shiki needed to get uppercut by Arcueid. I'm far more excited to see how Nasu will approach Tsukihime with that hindsight in mind more than I am about the visual and music upgrades the VN will get. I don't think Nasu wants to (or even should) remove all the problematic content of the original Tsukihime as this IS a work of horror, but a lot of editing would greatly improve the script.

Releasing Tsukihime R on PS4 isn't just a message of a console release, it's a sign that things will be different this time due to Sony's strict rules (that do not apply to its first party games apparently).

With that being said, a general trigger warning list from memory:

1.) There is a LOT of rape and sexual assault. Mentions of the act, internal narration from characters witnessing or attempting to find someone to rape, Shiki can straight up rape two of the girls on two seperate routes if he makes the wrong choice (he will be killed the day after). There's also a line where Shiki tells Ciel that if she doesn't do what he says, he'll rape her. The context there is that he's extremely weak and she can snap him like a twig so he just shouts the most hurtful thing he can think of, but it's still dumb. If I remember correctly, there's a choice that makes Shiki sexually assault Hisui and it DOESNT lead to a dead end, with most guides recommending that choice to get the CGs. I got annoyed and that's when I made my own guide for the route.

2.) Unknown to Shiki, his family's bloodline carries a powerful violent impulse to kill any non-human they see, strong enough to temporarily take over their wills and delight in murder by conflating it with sexual pleasure. The first time Shiki sees Arcueid, he falls into a trance and stalks her back home before brutally cutting her up into 17 pieces and experiences multiple orgasms while doing so. He then comes to his senses and starts vomiting and crying from what he just did and the shame of how much he enjoyed doing it. They're not taking this scene out (It's in the remake PV) but I'm preeeettyyyy sure Shiki's narration won't suddenly talk about how much his dick is loving this.

3.) Incest. Akiha is Shiki's sister. She's also a romantic interest. Technically they're adopted so it's not incest and they haven't seen each other in 8 years so it's not like they grew up together the whole time, but any tine you got to say "technically it's not incest", it's not great. I heavily doubt this is getting removed from the Remake as it's, you know, a whole route. On the other hand, Akiha has a biological brother, and he is creepy about her so that's 100% guaranteed ick right there, but fortunately he never goes far enough that you can tell if he's a sicko or if he's just really possessive of his sister.

4.) Kohaku's backstory. Koha-Ace once joked that this is the true reason the Remake took so long. It forms the backbone of Tsukihime and one of the main threads that ties everything together, but also Kohaku is the middle link between Fujino and Sakura. You can guess what that means.

5.) Heavy gaslighting, heavier drugs. Both Shiki's past and his present in the far side routes involve an almost hilarious relationship to the truth. Everyfuckingbody is lying to Shiki, and his father literally gaslights him with magic by using hypnosis to conveniently erase some traumatic memories that the old man is responsible for and replace them with falsehoods. Shiki nonchalantly talks about his terrible memory when it comes to his childhood throughout the VN, but the actual reason for that is that he got gaslit to hell and back. In the present, Shiki gets drugged out of his mind by someone in his house, and experiences long and detailed hallucinations, all the while being told by his family that nothing is going on. It becomes difficult to tell what's really going on; if he's really walking around town or if he's in bed babbling at the ceiling. It is terrifying and is a part of what gives the Far Side routes great psychological horror, but it still deserves a TW.

6.) Suicide. At least one character kills themselves onscreen.

7.) Torture. In the Ciel route, Roa tortures someone by repeatedly and slowly stabbing blades into them while Shiki is forced to watch. It goes on for a while.

8.) Grooming. This particular bit isn't a part of the Tsukihime VN itself, but more of a fandom joke thanks to Carnival Phantasm. A big part of Shiki's backstory is meeting the mage Aozaki Aoko as an 8 year old and her teaching him about life in the short time they have together. Due to Shiki's nature he almost certainly would have become an evil person, but meeting Aoko instilled a moral compass in him that is the only thing he has to fight his impulses, which is why Shiki loves his sensei so dearly. Melty Blood later made a joke that Aoko is mad she never got a route in Tsukihime, and Carnival Phantasm later had a whole scene stating the real reason Aoko cared for Shiki was that she was grooming him to be her boyfriend as soon as he turned of age. It's super gross and a perversion of what is literally the sole wholesome relationship Shiki has and the only reason there is any good in him at all. I really fucking hate this joke among all others in the Tsukihime fandom.

After playing Honeycomb Summer (Niki's SPP very lame, I won't lie) the first thing we get to see is Niki!

Niki: That was Honeycomb Summer by Crazy:B~ I think about this everytime we perform this song.

Niki: When HiMERU puts his index fingers near his cheeks, it shows a gap between his appearance~!

This is a reference to Honeycomb Summer's ending, the pose all of them do when Niki winks.

The Other Is Called Bee Who Is Consist of the Dark Fae Side of Him [ In This Slide Show That Its Like Ying and Yang. In Darkness There Is Light, In The Light There Is Darkness] No Name Who Is Consist of Light Side—An Angel, Hated Everything but Mc Yet Willing to Go for The Ordeal. While bee don’t hate the world like no name does, but still would go to a far length for them.

After Bee is sent back to the world of fae that is return to the time after MC died ( it seems that there’s an error that occurred in trying to reverse the time before the accident. Its simply impossible to happen.) Bee cant do the task alone and saw aira who seems to be healing by magic even so his a living donut. Thinking of the “memories” as its “aira” “fault” that mc is forgotten he chooses aira to drag him to do the task with him since aira knows more of the history of fae that he does. But to make aira remember, he have to have a core heart. He don’t want to give mc heart but only mc heart is fitted with aira. Maybe because his heart is corrupted with chaos (hence his heart have dark aura in it. But its chaos that is different from mayoi or stigma have, because chaos actually began with no name who created the sequence of event, the third party that was said to give back what was lost to him was aira and the fragment of chaos back in the main story, its one of the processes of no name being able to return as a whole and bee truly disappear as he has almost done his part but since kkoma played a role in this bee wont disappear just like that. Cause we do love so squire harem ahahaha. Fuk)

Btw what bee and aira did is:

Travel to the hundred or so years, it take the same time as they went back. So they went around the time period for a hundred or so years to the time years before mc is born or supposed to be born. Terrorize some fae because they can (they are core fae after all) and when mc is finally born years later, they take them as a new born. Cause why not, its normal for fairy to kidnap children after all(base in our real life lure). So no judging there. They take care of mc and learn how to improve their core magic as the process of birth of mc cause an uproar and war against the two type of fae.

[ note: when they finally did control the fae (before mc was born) bee already have borrowed the power of blood mad hatter or helter spider form of his. Which is max out. (it means complete understanding of the ability) being able to summon the madness mansion is one deal, the other is creating the puppet of the 4 spiders is another. In often times. Blood would chat to him, warning him about his being a vessel but indirectly. And how his just being controlled by someone (no name) and unlike blood he can do something about it. But Bee even with conscious mind still did what he needed to do, not because he cant refuse because in “his memories” his love for mc is true and he will change their fate no matter what]

Before the fae upraise against the two, the three did live a normal lives in the mansion. Making sure mc have a nice childhood and family. But they never really called mc by the name mc but rather the nickname they have for them. “omae” and “my flower”

When they engage in war, it's actually really bad because even if they did learn some stuff about being core. One never knows magic since birth, the other is not born a core fea. And they are outnumbered. The only time they manage to turn the table down is when they use the two-core crystals to recreate the domain of vermillion castle from twisted wonderland which is a very good defense and can eliminate enemies in large areas.

It's larger than madness mansion through, it's an ODD thing to use madness mansion's ability to shift its form to change it to another fortress in the same au with no help of the leader of the suit or card (hiiro) or the emperor of Vermillion (eichi) [it is possible but they doubt and fear that mc crystal heart will break in the process]

Aira use a area based spell which is vermillion and able to kill all the fae, those fae that become fertilizer for the last part of their goal—to put mc to a long sleep with the help of the noir flowers and protect mc for many years while they sleep.

When the war is finally over, the time for those two slowly run out, but they transform the fortress of Vermillion into the forest that was known to the present day where no one can enter and where the core fae slumber for a very long time.

Little bun Mc is still a core fae. They can snoop around the future at this point. They know about no name plan and don’t do anything about it. But really sad about the bee part. So that’s why they’ll do something about it. They actually know about morpho plan of love triangle.  They only agreed on cause it mean Ai won't be died in mysterious reasons because of certain someone and they value and cared for ai no less than they did for kohaku.

Ai left first with a promise that he will become their prince charming which will wake them up from slumber and the three of them will be together again before his current form turn into flowers. And wake up In [ prequel with the memories of the end that mc made in the secret chapter]

Mc turns bee into a cute little bun like them so it wont be an awkward thing. Before long they fall asleep and bee hugs them till the very end, before they too become flowers of noir that made sure to protect them from anyone in the very end till aira will come one day to wake them up.

NOTE REFERENCE:

CORE MAGIC CAN ONLY BE COUNTERED BY ANOTHER CORE. THAT’S WHY MC CANT TRULY DESTROY CHAOS EVEN IF THEY WANTED IT. BECAUSE CHAOS IS MADE BY ANOTHER CORE WHICH IS KOHAKU. BESIDES THE PART THEY DON’T REALLY WANT TO GO AGAINST THEIR “LIFE PURPOSE”
