I keep forgetting not everyone has the same humour as me
so everytime I say something like “I will peel your skin and hang it on the walls” or “instant Swiss piss” people would think I was actually insane

i cannot describe the rage i feel when i click on a fight club deep dive youtube essay, and it’s just… some dude, talking about how this film is the purest portrayal of masculinity and how “men love it because it’s so relatable”.
i mean, i love it because it’s relatable. but not in the way those sigma film bros do.
i love it because i’m gay, hate capitalism and would like to recreationally get beat up.

\\ CUSTOMER NOTICE //
Morning customers!! The Department of Hermit Permits would like to make an announcement regarding sending asks:
Please do NOT vent seriously in our inbox!
We understand that the ask box is specifically labelled for complaints, but some subjects that we have been receiving are not appropriate for the silly, light-hearted atmosphere that we try to create here.
Many apologies for the more serious post, folks. We thank you for interacting either way, and hope that from here we can continue to run this blog with joy!

Succession sweep complete with their final Best Drama win, and since I still feel empty after that final season, deserved.

How to dress like basic Japanese bangya on the GazettE’s concert.
First, put on a black long sleeve shirt. You don’t want to expose any skin, even if it’s a humid Japanese summer.
If you’re feeling a bit extra (or if you want to look “cute”), instead of a regular black long sleeve, put on a long sleeve with a collar. Like that.
Now put on a band t shirt. Oh, you’re definitely going to boil to death. You can wear a t shirt from the previous tour, it doesn’t really matter. But cool girl came prepared or picked up a shirt in a venue and got dressed in the restroom, cause they came 8 hours earlier.
For the bottom, you don’t want to wear pants, cause it’s masculine and eww in general. You also don’t want to wear a mini skirt, cause you’re not a slut, so let’s go with a safe variant.
For accessories - face mask and a tote bag. Don’t forget to grab your collection of bears and put them on your bag, cause why did you spend thousands on them?
Bonus points if the mask is in some pastel colors, while your outfit if mainly black.
That’s it, now you’re ready to stand in the venue’s hall for 3 hours waiting!

the boys and gen v being so good yet coming from a comic book series that feels like it was written by an edgy 15 year old boy is still so weird

I watched The Menu and loved it because it featured every single thing I hate about the food world and the arts in general. It’s brilliant because it's multilayered and multi-pronged in its satire and reducing it to just ONE aspect of its criticism (“rich people suck”) is too simplistic; even if you took away their richness, each character from the customers to Slowik and Elsa on the opposite side stands for a certain type of person who interacts with food and I hate every single one of them. :))))))
Also, it's hilarious because 2022 had The Bear and The Menu and people who work in the food industry/service industry or are have some connection to it talked about how they got stressed out by one and felt catharsis through the other. Both of them let them feel seen, but one was feeling seen in a bad way and the other one was in a good way even if you liked both fkasjflksajf.

no but also i'm thinking about all the ways in which someone's way of speaking via text can impact others' perception of them and it's sorta killing me. example situation: someone's just finding out that a character they liked dies in canon. they're not bursting into tears irl, but they're pretty bummed out. so: "NUUUUUUU but i love him so much!!!! TToTT" vs "noooo, i love him so much!"
also, the way older people type. my mother excessively uses emoji, especially :) -- and it's not the :) of despair. i've heard of others using lots of ellipses, even if they're not trailing off dramatically. it's all learned, and i suppose if my mother learned to text in different times, her manner of texting would be way different.
but what i'm getting at is -- sometimes it's all you get! and that's a bit scary if you think about it, because for the most part i feel like how you communicate online depends on where you hang out and what you're used to, so someone who's mature and well-spoken might type like a child with only a vague awareness of commas, etc, or someone who's kind and friendly might come off as mean simply because they've been hanging out on twitter too much.
(and then there's picking up people's mannerisms just because they seem fun, something that i do without even noticing it both off- and online, which muddles things up even more because you might wonder why i'm being so salty and angry out of nowhere, but i'm actually just emulating an incredibly funny blogger who spoke in this or that particular way in a strictly humorous context.)
communication is hell and one can never understand another person perfectly and completely. etc

I will go on for hours about the complexities of It's Always Sunny and my appreciation for the writing like a scholar waxing philosophical about the meaning of life and then I'll watch an actual clip from the show again with some of the strangest and worst sentences or images strung together in existence that momentarily brings me back down to Earth for a hot minute, humbling me with the fact that maybe, just maybe, I truly am deranged before that thought quickly fades away and the cycle starts over <3.
