I think that probably the most realistic scene in Crystalized is the fight between Jay and Kai.

They're both stressed out. They're both grieving. They're both trying to cope, just in a different way, and sometimes, grief can get the best of us.

But I'm actually surprised that Kai hadn't snapped sooner. Because Nya, the reason he joined the ninja in the first place, Nya, his sister who he basically raised, his family – is dead.

And Jay has the audacity to act as if no one else cared that she was gone. As if he was the only one affected.

Kai is trying to hold it together. He's trying to move on, because he knows he can't change what Nya has done. And he knows that Jay is grieving too and he does his best to not blame him.

Yes, he accidentally knocked the glass of water, but he instantly apologized for that, knowing what it means to Jay.

In other words, I'm on Kai's side on this one. I think that he had every right to point out Jay's bullshit. He should have done it sooner.

My brain went off during boring asf English class so now I present to you something that could and should actually maybe become a cannon plot point in Bennett's story going forward

So we all know that Bennett has made peace with death. In his mind, death is something fortunate for an adventurer. After years of exploring acient ruins, finding priceless treasures and fighting life or death deciding battles, they will leave behind countless tales tied to their names passed on for decades, maybe even centuries to come, never to be trully forgotten.

But right now, sitting next to one of his dad's deathbed, hearing him go silent and remain still as old injuries and age take him, forced Bennett to come face to face with the mortality of those around him.

Forcing him to realize that this is only the begining.

He always perceived that his luck would lead him to a premature death, so he tries to literally live each day like it's his last. But right now, sitting in the defening silence, despite there being voices and movement around with him in the room, he couldn't fully register any of it. His mind was elsewhere, holding on an unmoving hand of his dad, and realizing what would it mean if it was actually the other way around. That it very well could be the other way around.

What if everyone else around him dies before him instead.

He has very feew friends and aven fewer ones that he can call friends without feeling like he's making up ties that aren't there.

That leaves only his dads and him.

He loves his dads. He loves to take care of them, he loves telling them his mishap adventure stories. Besides them, the only other thing he dedicates his time to is adventuring. They raised him as his own without needing to know from what or where the boy comes from. Even after proving to bring nothing but misfortune and inconvenience with him, they kept reminding him just how much he was loved. And after their own years of adventuring they had so much wisdom to pass onto this by fate cursed boy, who wanted nothing more than to persue a life of adventure just as they once did.

...Just as they once did.

They were all old and shabby now. Even the ones still somehow filled with energy and last semblances of youth were starting to drag their feet and sleep way past morning sunshine. There's only so much longer they'll be around.

And than he will be all alone again.

Now that i have finished watching scorpy's indigo prophecy stream i can say with absolute certainty that the reason why the ending of that game feels so lackluster and disappointing is because the game absolutely peaks at the roof fight scene and nothing else in this game could have topped that.
