Erik Raadal (June 18, 1905 - 1941) was a Danish painter who studied at the Royal Academy under Sigurd Wandel and Ejnar Nielsen. He was a founder member of the artists' association Corner.
Raadal almost exclusively painted the town of Gjern and its surroundings - landscapes and town scenes, from the late 30s also with stylized figures in the foreground.
He died very young from tubercular meningitis, but married the year before his death. His wife, Ellen Raadal, who was also a landscape artist, moved to Thy and lived for decades in the tiny town of Krik, a mile and a half from my house.

IMAGES: Swedish and F-35 Danish Gripen perform first inter-ally exercises of 5ª generation
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 15/03/2024 - 18:16in Military
For the first time as NATO Allies, Danish F-35 fighters and Swedish JAS39 Gripen fighters flew air combat training exercises in Danish airspace on March 11 and 13.
The training missions showed close military cooperation between the Danish and Swedish air forces and also demonstrated efforts to integrate and interact with different generations of fighters in the Nordic countries. The exercises were mainly conducted in separate training areas on the waters of Kattegat. They consisted of one-on-one fighter maneuvers and coordinated flight of Danish F-35s from the Skrydstrup Fighter Wing and two JAS39 Gripen from 'Blekinge Flygflottilj' in Ronneby, near Karlskrona, in southern Sweden.
Tumblr media
Cooperation is based on a mutual interest of the two nations through the Oresund, making use of experience and skills to strengthen the combined power of air warfare.
"Because we are neighbors and close allies, using each other's capabilities not only provides great training value for pilots and personnel, but is also visible proof of the ambition to be able to operate effectively together," says Major General of the Danish Air Force, Jan Dam.
The training exercises involving the JAS39 produced by Sweden and the F-35 produced by the United States highlight the need to ensure that existing and new combat aircraft fleets are able to cooperate and interact on the modern battlefield.
Tumblr media
"The Gripen and F-35 belong to two different generations of combat aircraft and therefore have different characteristics to contribute to the battlefield. As a fifth-generation combat aircraft, the F-35 has the special ability to collect and process huge amounts of data, which it can later share with other allies and actors," explains Lieutenant-Colonel Casper Borge Nielsen, head of the Combat Flight Department of the Allied Air Command.
He went on to say that the integration between the F-35 and the Gripen increases the combined operational capabilities, because the F-35 is able to generate and share an unprecedented situational image, from which the Gripen can also benefit. On the other hand, the Gripen represents an advanced combat aircraft that brings more firepower to combat. This will benefit both fifth and fourth generation combat aircraft and, in a broader perspective, will give land and naval forces the opportunity to operate with more freedom and efficiency.
Tumblr media
"Performing this type of exercise flying with another type of aircraft provides different challenges and experiences than when it is normally practiced against our own units," said Lieutenant-Colonel Erik Almquist, Commander of the 172º Swedish Air Force Fighter Squadron. “Cooperation with Danish pilots has been very easy and uncomplicated. The biggest challenge was to decide whether we should speak English or Danish/Swedish on the phone during the briefing and debriefing,” he said, adding that on the air, radio communications are made, of course, in English. "This week's exercises were the beginning of an increased cooperation where the proximity of the divisions in Skrydstrup and the simplicity of the cooperation provide good conditions for us to develop and strengthen our ability to fight together as a 'Nordic Air Force'," he concluded.
"We found our Swedish colleagues in Danish airspace to fly Basic Fighter Maneuvers (BFM), also known as 1-on-1 air combat training," says TRI, one of the Danish F-35 pilots of the Skrydstrup Fighter Wing in southern Jutland. He added that this creates different requirements and challenges when training against an unknown opponent. "Most of the time, we fly BFM against our own F-35 pilots. The Gripen and the Swedish pilots fly differently, so a 1-on-1 match against them is a professional challenge. We can test elements of our own tactics that we don't normally do. It's amazing! And of course it's great to meet the Swedes in Denmark," concluded TRI.

In the fall of 2023, Denmark received the first four F-35 fighters on Danish soil, while six aircraft are still located in the US for training flights. In total, Denmark has invested in 27 F-35 fighters, of which the remaining 17 are expected to be delivered in the coming years.

Characters I need to see in the community movie-
Shirley Motherfucking Bennett (Yvette Nicole Brown doesn’t know if she’s going to be included, makes my teeth grind, she NEEDS to be there)
Frankie Dart (Paget Brewster so deserves to meet Troy and Shirley, I need to know their dynamic and if the steel drums bit shows up. She deserves the world!)
Professor Ian Duncan (John Oliver was so charmingly awkward in the show, it’d be an absolute farce if he didn’t show up for at least 5 minutes)
Magnitude (Luke Youngblood’s character is so needed, just ONE “Pop - POP” would ease my struggles)
Garrett (Erik Charles Nielsen’s story may feel finished, but how is Garrett doing? Is he still at Greendale?)
Neil (Charley Koontz’s story didn’t end by the end of the TV show, I would like to know if he’s happy? Is he hosting a famous DND Webshow? Tell me what happened to him!!!!)
I just need to know if they’re okay. And if Yvette isn’t in the movie I will be so upset, she deserves so much better than being forgotten by Harmon because she may not be important to the plot. Same with Paget’s character, though she was only here for one season she was lovely while she was here and she is SO a part of the nipple-dippers.

I've seen a lot of people confused as to why Michael had to kill himself. Many people seem to assume that Michael's death and Mikkel's disappearance are not connected at all, that they went to the cave to find Erik's drugs and they would have gone there anyway, but that's not really the case. A lot would change if Michael didn't die. So here's a list of the main things that would change if if he hadn't killed himself:
If he doesn't kill himself, Jonas never goes to therapy, never returns on that exact specific day, and they don't go to the cave on that exact specific day (they went there on that specific day because that was the day that Jonas was back).
If they don't go to the cave on that specific day, Mikkel would never be there, because Mikkel was only there because there was a parent's meeting at school that day (so neither Ulrich or Katharina were home) and the babysitter was sick, so Magnus had to bring him. If they went to find Erik's drugs any other day, Mikkel wouldn't have a reason to be there.
If they went to find the drugs any other day, they might never have heard the sound in the cave that spooked them and made them run (the sound is connected to the time travel. If they went there some other day, they might not be there at the exact time someone was time traveling). If they don't get scared and run, Mikkel and Jonas don't get separated, Mikkel isn't scared and there would be no excuse for them to "hide from the evil thing in the woods", so there's no opportunity for Jonas to take Mikkel to the past.
If Mikkel doesn't disappear at that exact specific day (let's suppose he disappears some other day), he might not go to the hospital in the exact day that Hannah was there, so they might never meet and never have Jonas, or if they did meet the circumstances could be different, leading to Jonas not existing.
If Michael doesn't kill himself, Jonas never goes back in time to prevent him from killing himself. If Jonas doesn't go back in time to prevent his father from committing suicide, he never learns that he was the one who took Mikkel to the past. So if Michael doesn't kill himself, Jonas would never know he had to be there to take Mikkel to the past. Even if Adam did tell him to take Mikkel to the past, Jonas wouldn't have been convinced to do that. He only did it because it was his father himself who asked this of him (with a little push from Claudia as well).
If Michael doesn't kill himself, Erik wouldn't have disappeared in the first place and they would never be there to find Erik's drugs. Erik was only kidnapped because of Adam's orders. Michael killing himself is part of Jonas's journey to turn into Adam, and without Adam, Erik doesn't disappear and Mikkel doesn't go back to the past.
If Michael doesn't kill himself, none of that happens, Jonas isn't born, and therefore Mikkel isn't born either, because without Jonas there's no Unknown, without Unknown there's no Nielsen family.
There are a few other events that happen due to Michael's death that are not directly connected to Jonas' existence, but connected anyway: without his suicide, Jonas doesn't go to therapy. If Jonas doesn't go away, Martha never gets with Bartosz. Without Michael's death, Jonas also has no reason to explore the caves and find out about time travel.
Jonas and Michael might not have known about this entire chain of cause and effect, but they did have knowledge of some of its elements: Michael realizes during their conversation that Jonas didn't know he was the one who took him to the past, so he knows he needs to kill himself for Jonas to travel back to try and prevent his suicide in order to learn about this. Jonas knows that he went to therapy and returned on that specific day, so he knows he wouldn't be there if it wasn't for his father killing himself. Both of them had reason to believe that if Michael never killed himself, Jonas wouldn't exist. When Claudia comes and confirms this to them, it seals the deal.
Finally, there's the simple fact that things are determined and nothing can be changed, so this was always meant to happen, nothing could have stopped it. Even if Mikkel didn't have enough reason to believe that if he didn't kill himself Jonas wouldn't exist, he would always make that choice if there was a slight chance that Jonas wouldn't be born if he didn't.

Why There's No Bartosz in the Origin World: A Calculated Infodump
Tumblr media
So I know there were a few people who were upset about the fact that Aleksander and Regina's relationship didn't make it to the Origin World despite both of them still existing without time travel. I've also seen some people who said they felt bad for Bartosz because he didn't make it to the Origin World even though his birth wasn't the result of time travel. But after some careful consideration (read: hyperfixation go brrrr), I think I've come to a fairly logical conclusion about why this is the case. Originally, I thought that Aleksander and Regina only met because Aleksander pulled a gun on Ulrich to stop him from bullying Regina, and that event no longer happens with Ulrich out of existence. But there's more than that, and in this essay I will here is my explanation.
Tumblr media
In season 2, when Clausen is interrogating Aleksander about the disappearance of his brother, the real Aleksander Kohler, he mentions that his brother disappeared "without a trace. Nothing." When someone in Dark disappears without a trace, nothing, we can pretty safely assume that time travel is to blame. Clausen assumes that his brother is dead and suspects "Aleksander" (Boris) of being the guilty party, but the disappearance happened in Marburg, not Winden, so we don't see it play out. It could be a Mikkel situation (taking on a new identity and a new life in a different time), or a Mads/Erik/Yasin situation (he just died and his body was dumped God knows when).
The letter that Clausen receives tipping him off about travelling to Winden to get answers about his brother's disappearance would at this point likely be presumed to have been written by Claudia. But after the events of season 3, it's much more likely to have been written by The Unknown, for 3 main reasons:
Tumblr media
First, it includes the same quote ("he who has eyes to see and ears to hear...") that The Unknown says to Gustav Tannhaus before murdering him in 1888,
Tumblr media
second, the handwriting on the letter matches the handwriting used by The Unknown when he writes the notebook,
Tumblr media
and third, the motherfucker knows everything. Everything about what happens in both worlds, at every time, and is constantly catapulting between timelines murdering everyone in his way to make sure those events keep happening. (Though it remains unclear whether or not he knew there was a third world.)
So with this information under our belts, there's a pretty strong theory that The Unknown fabricated the Marburg incident to look like a murder and to make Boris Niewald look like the guilty party, which would lead to the following chain of events: Boris changes his name to Aleksander > he flees his past and comes to Winden > he meets Regina > the two of them get married and have Bartosz.
Tumblr media
Keeping Bartosz in existence definitely would've been in The Unknown's best interest as Bartosz needed to produce Noah, the perpetrator of many of the Adam's World disappearances, and Agnes, who the Unknown would get with in both worlds to produce Tronte, and the Nielsen loop would continue.
So ultimately, in a world without time travel, Aleksander Kohler never disappeared, and the other events subsequently didn't occur. Boris Niewald never changed his name, he never fled to Winden, he never met Regina....and they never had Bartosz. (Yes, the writers could've come up with another reason for Boris to come to Winden and meet Regina which could've yielded Regina Niewald and Bartosz Niewald, but based on the way everything was set up, it would've required an explanation and I'm not sure such an explanation could fit into the dinner scene without being hamfisted).
I won't lie, I was pretty sad about losing Bartosz as he was my second favourite character behind Claudia (who thankfully made it), and he was the one member of the teen generation I really thought would survive. But if you can come up with a way for him to still exist, by all means, write a fix-it fic. That's what they're for. (Some good examples can be found in this post by @haljathefangirlcat)

Replacing the Whitehorse airport’s main runway is now set to cost about $30 million more than the highest of initial estimates.
The budget for runway work at the Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport was laid out in the 2023-2024 five-year capital plan. Between $115 million and $130 million was allocated for the project over three years.
On May 19, the Yukon government awarded Colorado’s Flatiron Corp. the contract to repave and spruce up the runway at a cost of $160 million.
Besides fixing up the runway itself, additional features such as lighting will be replaced, according to the Yukon government.
Site preparation can now begin, and the project is expected to be completed by early 2026. [...]
