We all know about the “Archerite” moment in the episode “Proving Ground.” So who was gonna tell me about the fact that there’s a T’poshi moment like that in the book “Daedalus?”

Isabel Guz! In the 22nd-And-A-Half Century!
Image ID: Digital drawing of a Eaurp Guz and Hoshi Sato in the NX-01 starship Enterprise mess hall. Guz is a green slimegirl, Hoshi Sato is a japanese human woman. They are both wearing navy-blue united earth starfleet jumpsuits. Hoshi's uniform has blue lining and Guz's uniform has red lining. They both have ensign's pips. Guz looks a little flustered and melty, while Hoshi just looks happy. Guz is eating soup. Hoshi has a sandwich and some beans. There is a purple and blue nebula visible out the window.  End ID.
pre-ent-season-1 Introduction to Isabel Guz under the cut:
Ensign Guz was in the 602 club, enjoying a fruity beverage and talking to Ensign Reed about Titan V missiles. Guz was in uniform--her navy-blue jumpsuit with red stripes, but Reed was wearing a polo shirt and shorts. Reed spotted his crewmates from across the room and waived them over to the booth.
"Uh, Isabel, this is, ahem, Lieutenant Tucker and Commander Archer, from Project Enterprise."
"Please, call me Trip."
Guz's eyes went wide. "Wow! Howdy, I'm, uh, Ensign Isabel Guz, nice to meetchy'all."
Trip cocked his head to the side. "Ensign, where you from?"
"No clue sir, but I was raised in Greensboro."
"Ah, one of them reclaimation project towns?" Trip said.
Guz nodded. "There weren't much uh the city left after the 2nd civil war, but that meant it wasn't one of the targets during world war three."
Commander Archer chuckled to himself, then cleared his throat. "I think you and Trip have a lot in common. He was raised in Panama City."
"A real life Florida man...," Guz marvelled.
"In the flesh," Trip said.
"Have you ever made it out to Cape Canaveral? I know it's mostly a crater reclaimed by swamp at this point but I've heard the historical society opened the ruins of the VAB to visitors! I've always wanted to go, but I never found the time, and--"
"Calm down Ensign. I've done better than that. I've seen the preserved Saturn Five booster in Huntsville, Alabama."
"No... way..." Guz said.
"Forgive me for prying but, what's with the, uhh..." Archer said, gesturing vaguely at Guz's whole deal.
“The slime? The Vulcan scientists said I came to them as a cylinder of biomimetic compound salvaged from a Zaldan Empire ship. They didn't get any records, so I dunno what planet I'm from. Ain't like it matters; as far as I'm concerned, I'm from North Carolina."
"Zaldans?" Archer said
"They're at a similar level of development to Earth, but with much wider infrastructure. That's all the Vulcans told me about them.”
“So are you like, some kinda shapeshifter?” Trip said.
“If you want to learn all about me, feel free to read the Vulcan paper, Development and Maturation of a Biomimetic Mold Organism. If you can read Vulcan, that is. You’ll learn all about my shapeshifting abilities, or lackthereof; my fluidity, material structure, sentience profile… pain response.”
The table went silent. Guz looked down awkwardly, more upset that she’d made things awkward than about what the Vulcans did to her all those years ago.
“Hey, ma’am, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to--”
Guz feigned cheering up. “It’s ok. We all know how Vulcans can be!”
The waitress came up to the table. “The usuals, gentlemen?”
“Thanks, Ruby,” Archer said.
“How ‘bout Isabel?” Trip said.
“You’ve already guessed that one,” Ruby said.
“Damn,” Trip said, snapping his fingers.
“Wh-what was that about?” Guz said.
“Ruby said she’ll marry the first guy who guesses what she wants to name her kids.”
Guz muttered under her breath, “or maybe the first slimegirl…”
Archer furrowed his brow and pursed his lips, a little surprised.
Ruby came back with some drinks, and Archer continued in his small talk. “So, Ensign, where are you assigned?”
“I’m on Captain Jeffries’ engineering team.”
“Oh, damn, is he overworking you?” Trip said.
“I can handle the workload,” Guz said. “But I’m hoping to actually get… you know, out there some day. I’m hoping to get on one of those Freedoms, or maybe an Intrepid--”

The Time the Friends Got Involved - 2
5 Times Trip Was Dumb + 1 Time He Wasn't
Hoshi Sato and Malcolm Reed stood side-by-side in the situation room, listening to three very powerful figures raise their voices over a situation involving a comet, an alien man with very sticky fingers, and three barrels of some kind of seaweed. One of them wished everyone would quiet down; the other one was watching his friends get a little too involved in all the fighting.
Charles “Trip” Tucker III slammed his hands down on the table. “I’m telling you, it doesn’t make sense what you’re saying! He weaseled us out of a month’s supply of rations!”
“Commander, if you simply looked at the benefits of this situation, you would see we are perfectly capable of gaining back what we have lost,” Sub-Commander T’Pol said in her steely voice. Her head was raised higher than usual.
“Would you two stop fighting for once?” Archer snapped. “Let’s figure out a way to do this correctly! The last thing we need is another torpedo to hit our port nacelle.”
Malcolm sucked in a sharp breath. His fingers curled into a fist, tucked right underneath his chin. His poor port nacelle. He would never be able to recalibrate it in time…
“Maybe if we just talked to the Merian government?” Hoshi offered up. “I’m sure they’d love to negotiate with us. Besides, we had no idea he was a prisoner! If we just returned Fraydik —”
“If we returned Fraydik, we would lose our command codes,” T’Pol said. “Until we’ve retrieved them, we cannot let him go.”
“She has a point,” Malcolm told Hoshi softly.
“Then why not override them?” Trip snapped. He moved in closer to the Sub-Commander. Their noses were barely a hair’s breadth away. “We’ve got an entire planetary government down there with all of their guns pointed straight for us. That’s how crazy they are to get this guy!”
A charge filled the room. Captain Archer turned away and pinched his nose. Shockingly, he was the only one who seemed to be unaware of the volcanic, electric energy that was radiating off of his two most senior officers. Hoshi and Malcolm shared a small look. It didn’t take an armory officer or a translator to understand there were weapons being used that couldn’t be seen and words being shared that couldn’t be heard.
“Commander, I understand your frustrations, but taking this out on me will not solve your problems.” T’Pol took a deep breath in and very gently pushed Trip away from her.
Trip, who usually took any excuse to be as stubborn as a mule, suddenly backed down. “You’re right,” he said, breathing out slowly. “You’re right; I’m sorry. I am frustrated. This isn’t your fault, is it? It’s Fraydik’s.”
“Now can we start talking like civilized people?” Jonathan Archer pleaded.
T’Pol barely moved, but it was apparently enough for the Chief Engineer. Trip nodded, gestured for the Sub-Commander to take a seat, and even pulled her chair out for her. She sat down without question.
Malcolm and Hoshi were making faces at each other now. This was highly unacceptable! This had never happened before! What happened to the bickering that was happening not even moments ago? Was there some sort of telepathic oddity they missed out on? What was this… this… anomaly?
The rest of the meeting went smoothly. Fraydik would be used as a bargaining chip and their command codes would be switched. Hoshi would navigate the negotiations; Malcolm would watch for any weapons being fired; Trip would be down by the warp core waiting to take off at the first sign of trouble. It was a relatively simple plan. It was a relatively brilliant plan. It had been mostly devised by Commander Tucker and Sub-Commander T’Pol once they had gotten over their little spat.
It still frightened the lieutenant and the ensign how flawlessly the two had gotten over their differences. It had never happened in the years they had known each other and been friendly; when they fought, the whole ship knew about it. Sometimes they wouldn’t speak for days!
As they walked out of the situation room together, Hoshi and Malcolm were silent until Trip and T’Pol made their own way down the corridor together. They had moved on to talking about something else entirely, chit-chatting and seemingly happy together. Well… as happy as a Vulcan could possibly be, anyway.
“Oh, God,” Malcolm muttered. “There’s no possible way.”
“What do you mean?” Hoshi asked, furrowing her brow. “You mean… them?”
“Of course, I mean them! He’s in love with her,” he continued. He had a sour taste in his mouth. “He’s got to be! There’s no other reason for him to be following her around like a puppy, is there?”
“It does seem like it, doesn’t it? I mean… They do everything together,” she agreed. Ensign Sato crossed her arms. “He did ask me to teach him Vulcan recently.”
“See? That’s all the evidence you need.” Malcolm mirrored her pose. “Trip’s fallen in love with the one woman who can’t love him back.”
Hoshi bit her lip. “Don’t say it like that. It makes it sound sad,” she said. “But he could also just be her friend. Look at us, Malcolm; we do everything together. It doesn’t mean we’re in love.”
“We don’t do everything together.” He met her eyes, frowning. “Do we?”
A beat passed.
“Nevermind that now,” he said, clearing his throat. “I think we ought to tell Trip what he’s getting himself into. It’s not right for him to be pining after T’Pol.”
“But he’s also the only person she’ll let get that close to her,” Hoshi added. “Maybe she’s got feelings for him. Maybe we’ve got it wrong.”
“Us? Wrong? About relationships?” Reed scoffed. “Since when?”
She only rolled her eyes. “Come on, Malcolm.”
They started walking toward Engineering, hoping against hope that T’Pol would already be gone by the time they caught up to Trip. She wasn’t horrible or anything — in fact, most of Archer’s inner circle loved T’Pol very much. It was just that it would be pretty awful for her to hear how much Malcolm and Hoshi disapproved of anything more than friendship between them. It wasn’t really their place to say anything, but that was what friends did for friends — they told each other who they should and shouldn’t get involved with.
When they managed to find their way into Engineering, they were lucky enough to find Trip all by himself.
“Oh, thank God,” Malcolm whispered. He took Hoshi’s hand. “Come on, old girl, let’s go break lover boy’s heart.”
“Hey, guys,” Trip called when he saw them approaching. He slipped behind the warp core. “Whatcha up to?”
“We have something we think you should know,” Hoshi started before quickly ducking behind Malcolm. “It’s kind of important.”
“It’s very important,” Malcolm corrected. “Honestly, mate, we wouldn’t be saying anything unless we didn’t really care about you, so please don’t —”
“— Be mad that you two are together? Finally?” Trip beamed, tinkering around in some kind of compartment. He ducked his head out just enough to see them and their conjoined hands. “That’s real sweet, you know. I’ve been saying to T’Pol it’ll be nice to see you two try it out.”
“T’Pol knows?” Hoshi squeaked. Malcolm quickly dropped her hand. This was not going to plan at all! “What did she tell you? Aren’t you two… you know?”
“Of course, she does,” he laughed. “She’s smart, remember? Besides, I practically spend all day with her, anyway, now that you two spend a lot of time together. It’s cute, though; I think you’re both very lucky. It’s not every day your friend becomes your special friend, you know?”
“Trip, that’s actually not what we were going to —”
“Don’t be bashful!” Trip chided. He ducked back behind the warp core. “Everyone saw it coming a mile away…”
Hoshi and Malcolm looked at each other and sighed. “Trip, what we came here to tell you was —”
“Archer to Lieutenant Reed.”
“Here, sir,” Malcolm said obediently. He did his best not to roll his eyes at the third interruption in a row. How was Captain Archer to know they were trying to discourage their friend’s obvious romantic feelings for a Vulcan? It wasn’t as if it was put in everyone’s daily news feed.
“I need you and Hoshi to report to the Bridge as soon as possible, please. We’re about to start negotiations with the ambassadors, but they’d prefer it if we kept it on our own territories for the first half.”
“Understood, sir. We’ll be there right away.” Reed huffed shortly. “Let’s go, Hoshi.”
“Bye, guys!” Tucker said happily. It was like nothing bad ever happened to him.
Trip had no idea there was anything going on between him and T’Pol. It was as if the thought had never even graced his brain! Meanwhile, Sato and Reed had to deal with the now-circulating rumor that they were together…
“That went well,” Hoshi said sarcastically.
“It could have been worse,” Malcolm reasoned. “Besides, if we’re going to be together now, we might as well let whatever’s happening between the two of them play out. Who knows? We might just like it.” His own sarcasm had slipped in.
“You don’t like me?”
He stopped. “Of course, I like you. Only, I — I didn’t — I thought you —” Malcolm finally did roll his eyes, sauntering like a child. “Oh, if you don’t want to be my girlfriend, just say so, and let’s get this over with.”
“I may be a little slow, but I’m not Trip,” she smirked. “Let’s just stick with ‘girlfriend’ and see what happens.”

For the character ask game: Hoshi Sato, Seven of Nine, and Wesley Crusher!
Hahaha thanks for being my no.1 enabler as usual and sending me such a great triple ask! Prepare for Essay <3
Hoshi
one aspect about them i love
Her whole multilingual thing and having to figure it all out without the Universal Translator was so, so cool to me. Honestly, when I think back to what worked from Enterprise's whole "early days" pitch, it's the first thing that comes to mind. And gosh her backstory with the isolation she felt as a gifted child who spent most of her time in classes... all those languages, and no one to speak to. Really makes her presence on Earth's first deep space mission Hit Different!
one aspect i wish more people understood about them
Well, that she's actually quite a three-dimensional character! Yes, they often didn't know what to do with her and her screentime got reduced later on, but she's more than just the "naive young ensign" archetype- in fact, one of my favourite things about her is how uniquely real she feels (that scene where she had to settle a dispute with some aliens they'd accidentally pissed off and she didn't even speak their language and was straight up on the verge of tears while talking to them, but then gradually gained confidence? That sort of stuff with her was so good!)
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character
Personally I will never be over the fact that in like season FOUR or something they just randomly dropped that she was originally discharged from Starfleet (!!) for getting into a fight (!!!?) over an illegal poker game she was running (iirc??) and breaking her commanding officer's arm (??!?) because apparently she has a black belt in Aikido (!!??!) Good lord, how many other secret skills does she have then? She's literally a prodigy who grew up with no friends I bet there's dozens lmaooo I bet she can pick locks and yodel and swing from a trapeze
one character i love seeing them interact with
She and Phlox have a sweet dynamic- you get the sense that her curiosity and open-mindedness and friendliness really make him feel more at home, as one of the only aliens on the ship
one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more
T'Pol!! T'Pol, T'Pol- the show gave them little to no scenes together, but it really could've been something so interesting, especially in the context of cultural exchange and nonwestern frameworks. And yes, they make for a wonderful ship too- but judging by the state of our dms lately I certainly don't need to tell you that😂
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character
She and Phlox have a whole mini zoo of secret and illegal pets.
Seven
one aspect about them i love
The entire premise of her character is fantastic imo, and Jeri Ryan is terrific in the role. Her quest to discover personhood as an adult while also reckoning with all the violence she inflicted on such a mass scale (which itself was a result of horrifying violations of her own body and mind that she can barely remember) while also trying to reconcile the grief of all those lost years... wow
one aspect i wish more people understood about them
... I mean, I wish the showrunners had understood that Seven works best as part of an ensemble, and "ensemble" means occasionally giving the others something to do?😂😂 And that the whole deal with her biosuit and conventionally feminine hotness just didn't match the character; she should've been allowed to look and act WAY more weird and off-putting I think
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character
Ignoring ST: Picard canon (which I always do), I think after Voyager returns to the AQ, Seven would dig deeper into the concept and pursuit of "perfection"- the show painted it as a quasi-religious thing for her, and then never brought it up again! I think now, abruptly ripped from her home and family and confronted with a big scary quadrant to explore, she'd try on spirituality, at least for a little bit- try to reconcile it with her very scientific algorithms of thought, if only so for a brief while she can make the universe make sense
one character i love seeing them interact with
Many answers (Janeway, Tuvok, etc) but I'm going to highlight one I actually didn't notice much on first watch- she and Neelix have kind of an interesting dynamic! They have more scenes together than I remembered, and they give each other some really good advice
one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more
B'Elanna. Their supposed "rivalry" never really made sense to me lol, they could've come up with a legitimately interesting conflict between them, or just made them friends- as is, it just sort of comes off like they're fighting because... women be like that, I suppose? Lol, don't get me wrong- some of their scenes together are great ("We difficult patients need to stick together") but I wish we'd gotten more
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character
She and Tuvok sometimes hang out in the mess hall at night, when the whole ship is dark, and quiet, and they can just stare at the stars, help alleviate each others' loneliness, while also giving each other a break from the exhausting ordeal of conventional socialising. Four hours in and not a single word spoken😌
Wesley
one aspect about them i love
Apart from being generally very sweet and helpful, Wes (and Alexander too) is what makes the crew feel like a family to me- like, this kid just has so many sets of parents! (Bev & Picard are his Parents parents, Data & Geordi are his work parents, Riker & Guinan are his weird parents, Deanna & Tasha are his fun parents, and Worf is... ok Worf can just be Worf lol the poor man has more than enough on his plate already)
one aspect i wish more people understood about them
That he's literally just a child, I suppose. Like- he's fourteen, of course he does and says stupid things on occasion! It generally doesn't bother me when people dislike characters I like but a lot of the Wesley hate I've seen across platforms feels distinctly anti-children in a weirdly malicious way
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character
Starfleet Academy must've been a WILD transition for him, I mean sure it's a high-pressure environment and very competitive and everything- but he was on the literal bridge of the flagship of the Federation! All his bffs were highly intelligent and competent (sometimes superhumanly so) adults at the tops of their fields. How much experience does he even have socialising with kids his age? Does he ever feel like he just can't relate to any of them? Probably??
one character i love seeing them interact with
Ooh lots of answers here; I do think he brings out the best in Picard, and I love his dynamic with several others too- but I'm gonna go with Geordi. I know I called him one of Wesley's parents earlier but that was just a joke lol, truthfully Geordi has this extremely chill and almost like brotherly friendship with him, and he always respects Wesley's opinions and hears him out and never really condescends to him and I just think it's neat!
one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more
Lmao, Beverly. It's really weird how little the show seems to care about their relationship! I mean they obviously do have a positive one, and Bev is very loving and protective of him, but they don't actually share all that much screentime per se. So that means I have to headcanon slightly less positive things, like-
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character
what if Beverly's absence during such a crucial year in his life (S2) sort of left a gap in their relationship they never quite managed to patch up? No resentment exactly, just... less connection than before. She's still very important to him of course, but not the first person he'd go to with good news. (I don't mean this in a negative way towards Beverly btw! I actually do like that the show wanted to give her more storylines beyond just being Wesley's Mum)

A short T'Poshi comic bc I posted a Tri'Pol comic yesterday and I want to give both equal attention.
Image description under the cut along with both panels separately.
[Picture ID: A hand-drawn comic in colored pencil. The first panel depicts T'Pol sitting on a silver couch dressed in purple button-up pajamas. She has a neutral expression.. She is sitting next to Hoshi, who is completely draped in a red blanket, looking frightened. They are sitting in front of a TV that is playing a horror movie, the characters in which are yelling "It's behind you!" "Aieee!" and "Nooooooooo!"
The second panel depicts T'Pol and Hoshi cuddling together in a twin bed. Hoshi's face is tucked against T'Pol's chest and both of her arms are around T'Pol's back. T'Pol has one arm around Hoshi and one arm tucked under her head. T'Pol is wearing the same purple button-up pajamas and Hoshi is wearing dark blue pajamas. They both appear content. There is a gray blanket draped around both of them from the waist down. The pillows they are lying on are white with a blue checker pattern. There is text floating above them from just before bed. The text reads: "Maybe watching that movie was a mistake... I don't know if I can get to sleep..." / "Ashayam, I have the strength of three humans. I assure you, you are quite safe." End ID.]
