I have to gush real quick it is in my very being to infodump this right now.

So this is Crosscode, and if you haven't played it you should right now because it is one of the best RPGs ever made, heck it is one of my favorite games of all time easily.

I played it a few months ago and it really just was everything to me. I love these characters, I love the soundtrack and the gameplay is so, so much fun! The combat is fast paced, fun and difficult. I love the Zelda style dungeons that cap off each area. I love that they took the setting of a game within a game and actually made it interesting by focusing the story around how players and developers interact with the world they created! I love the just, everything! The story is a bit slow but honestly that is such a tiny little complaint in what is otherwise a sea of positive things I could say about this amazing wonderful little gem. I played it to nearly 100% completion and adored every second and I have considered a second playthrough since the moment I finished.

I don't even know how to describe it because I am genuinely welling up. Just going back and listening to the title theme I am almost crying tears of joy. I am already so nostalgic for this and I only finished it two months ago I just love it so so so much. I always thought about if I would make a video game and what it would look like. Crosscode is that game made reality. It is that dream game I considered making just so it would exist. I am so happy that it is a thing and that I got to experience it as a player.

Please, PLEASE give this game a shot if you like action RPGs. It really is one of the best out there and so much more than I could possibly ever describe.

just finished the first dh2 mission and honestly i'm sort of in love with emily's character she sucks so so bad. evidence of her dislike of being empress and subsequent dismissal of the gravity of her responsibilities is presented to us from the very beginning, walking in with her through the doors before the coup begins. it litters the palace she has to make her way out of. she is so adrift before the coup and it shows ! corvo's obviously the most important person in her life but his influence on her seems largely military (as opposed to her mother's) which makes sense given dh1 events--ofc his focus would be on her survival with minimal trauma as opposed to good ruling in any sense. after escaping she meets meagan foster, a woman she doesn't know at all, and immediately proceeds to take up residence in her ship for passage to the other side of the empire without any fixed plan. and we're told over and over that this is remarkably consistent with her behavior as empress. i'm playing her high chaos i hope she burns it all to the ground

Honestly, college campuses are one the best possible places to people watch. It's been gorgeous out the past few days and with the students back, everything's blossomed back to life.

I sat there forever yesterday after a walk making up backstories for everyone, especially the couples. I named one Conrad (for his Conrad Fisher vibe) and Cecily, and the other, nerdier couple Matt and Natalie.

I just sat there making up their backstories and dialogue while I watched everything else going on around me.

We had been discussing renovating the guest room so that you could have a room all to yourself...”

“And we talked over the budget, and...we knew we’d make it work,” Wilhelm nodded, he and June gathering around the tub alongside their son as the Pace patriarch continued, saying, “It wouldn’t be a bother to us, Emily. We...we’d love to have you here with us, as a part of our family. Because, as far as we’re concerned, that’s what you are!”

At this, Randall’s eyes lit up, and he looked back at Emily hopefully, heart picking up a little speed as he asked her, “W-Well...what do you say, Emily? Would...would you like to stay here with us?” 

He blushed as he glanced down shyly for a moment, before finishing, “With...with me?”

She turned to look at him, realizing he didn’t care she saw him shirtless. She shrugged saying ‘‘Well, yeah, I suspected it for a while now. I just figured you would tell me when you're ready. It didn’t feel right to ask. It’s not of my business, as long as you’re happy Mulder.’’

‘Sweety, you can’t just take a fish out of a pond and keep it.’ She looked at the poor creature who was clearly struggling. She gently took it from his hands and released it back into the water. The fish gladly swam away, but then returned holding his head out of the water.

As per usual, when Emily spotted her parents from the playground, she ran to them and demanded a piggyback ride back to the car, which Mulder obliged. He helped her buckle up as Scully started the car. The drive home was pleasant, Emily recounted how she learned that a caterpillar could become a butterfly. And said they had to draw butterflies, so she had a new artwork for Mulder’s art gallery.

Finally, they saw it, the big blue box. Like a beacon in the sea of all the people. The Tardis was standing exactly where they left it. River thanked god it was because she was not ready to drag The Doctor around the town to look for his box.

they’re  fighting  meme  but  like  with  love   —   accepting .

thought  with  the  utmost  love:    it’s  good  to  know  your  partner’s  weaknesses,   not  to  use  them,   but  to  fill  them  in.   it’s  just  that  it’s  also  useful  to  know  when  legitimately  sparring  with  said  partner.   things  like  this  aren’t  only  just  fun   ( maybe  that’s  the  big  reason )    but  it  keeps  the  reflexes  sharp  and  the  mind  sharper,   understanding  weaknesses  and  how  to  use  them  when  they’re  learned  from  an  actual  enemy.    it  just  also  happens  that  eivor’s  visiting  emily  for  once.   in  dunwall,   a  busy  city  with  buildings  constructed  back  to  back  and  various  crates,   barrels,  stands,  other  various  objects  decorating  the  streets.   this  is  true  also,   for  the  training  grounds  built  by  lord  corvo  attano  in  the  back  of  dunwall  tower.   he  built  a  training  area  to  hone  her  senses  for  the  city  because  that’s  a  father  that  wanted  a  daughter  that  could  and  will  keep  herself  safe  no  matter  the  situation.   he’s  already  lost  his  wife  to  greed.   that  woman  was  her  mother.  

it  worked.   emily  knows  that  she’s  more  agile  and  lithe,   whereas  eivor  is  stronger,   faster,   and  a  better  shot  with  bows  /  throwing  weapons.   they  match  evenly  when  it  comes  directly  to  hand  to  hand  or  sword  combat.   that’s  why  emily  has  to  use  agility  to  rescue  her.   she  does,   of  course.   one  foot  pushes  her  off  a  wall  and  she  flips  right  over  eivor,   before,  all  of  a  sudden  rushing  back  towards  eivor.    she  jumps  again,   legs  wrapping  around  eivor   --   just  from  behind.   one  hand  goes  for  the  arm  where  eivor’s  hidden  blade  is,   long  fingers  wrapping  around  it.   the  other  hand  has  her  folding  blade.   which  is  now  only  mere  centimeters  away  from  eivor’s  throat.    at  this  point  eivor  could  certainly  even  throw  her  off,   but  the  beauty  of  sparring  is  knowing  when  emily  could  have  made  the  killing  blow  and  where  eivor  only  has  room  to  react  simply  because  she  did  not.   that’s  this  moment.   legs  are  tightly  wrapped  around  eivor,   emily  relaxes  her  posture.   both  hands  stay  where  they  are  though.

“   you’re  mine  now,   ”     emily  just  whispers  in  eivor’s  ear.
