Zhen: tries to rationalize everything but ends up going into mental overload. first thing they do is try to secure shelter, food and a source of income for themselves and Misun, who arrived at NRC with them. is very much on edge but is able to control it because Maturity.

Misun: Misun.exe has stopped working. seriously. the first reaction she has upon arriving at NRC’s orientation is being so shocked, she’s quite literally unable to move. Zhen, help your sister please.

Elsie: very confused and very tired. please, let her go home. let her awaken from this nightmare. doesn’t wanna be here.

Haneul: the most panicked out of all of them. Haneul doesn’t like to be in places she’s not familiar with, especially when she’s alone. someone save them from this cruel fate.

Harley: the most excited out of all of them, Harley would never pass an opportunity to explore this strange world ahead of her. she’s graduated from high school after all and had little ambitions for afterwards, so this was exciting! so thrilling and new!

Everyone else is 3rd singular feminine 'lei''#I'll be damned before my brain lets me think about someone in the 2nd singular /j #<- things said by someone who only half-jokingly calls their friends mister/signor #the context for this is that ''voi'' as a formal way to refer to someone was widely used by the fascist regime. Popularised by D'Annunzio #it does however make for a funny inconspicuos way to call out and make fun of my family for being fascists by using 'voi' only with them

laymen often comment that the primal forces of magic in fact seem rather underpowered; that it is only by marrying two or more of them together that one can achieve any kind of usefulness. this is the result of abandoning depth for breadth, but an understandable decision. the difficulty encountered is that in order to excel, truly excel at any one primal force, one must alter their understanding of reality fundamentally.

mages of space view the world as expanses, more easily manipulated once grasped, for good and for ill—they become impossible to disorient, but extremely dense objects feel, to their magic, like impossibly vast distances. time mages, on the other hand, eschew distance and see everything as a long line of history. a mage of time can take that line and follow it back to its source, or use it to choose the future they find most preferable.

to a mage of light, the world becomes not space or time or air or gravity, but rather: a series of laws. of facts, and extrapolations following the facts. but seeing is only the first step: the second is daring to take one's own pen and strike out the lines of the contract deemed undesirable.

it is then perhaps unsurprising that the students of light were the ones who set their sights so high. believing fully in their own right to determination, they identified the chief bottleneck in their abilities and sought to remove it. each magical force filters through a divinity—save now for one. the mages of light have killed their god.

How I feel about L: hhhhh sigh. hhh. sighhhshhshsiigggh. honestly? he's kind of like my favourite jumper. he's my number one comfort character ever and I came very close to crying in bed for days after he died. i am not 'typical about this man.

How I feel about Matsuda: he's such a cutie!! teehee!!! look at this silly fella who probably cuts his own hair!! giggling and kicking my feet cause he's funny and silly and would be a good friend doncha think?

All the people I ship romantically with L: Matsuda, Misa, Rie, other people's OCs (if they're shipped with him by their creator xD). Light deserves a mention because while I don't ship LawLight romantically I do think they're an iteration of the "red thread" trope because no matter what time, no matter what place, they'll write history together with a pen filled with their own blood in place of ink. that said I was genuinely surprised that so many people ship them just because I don't see it at all. I don't hate it, there's just nothing that clicks for me when looking at L and Light.

All the people I ship romantically with Matsuda: mostly just L, I've seen Matsu + Misa stuff but I think they'd be cuter friends.

My non-romantic OTP for L: Light 100%. You can't have one without the other. I can't explain all my thoughts about them without a whole post dedicated to it, but anyway, Light is my answer.

My non-romantic OTP for Matsuda: mentioned it above, Misa! They're two sillies and they're both :3 so they're besties and they've probably got matching friendship bracelets.

My unpopular opinion about L: he does eat normal food on a semi-regular basis. specifically, meat, usually I think steak. I hc him as anemic but also Watari wouldn't let L die or become malnourished and there's important things in food that you can't necessarily get in vitamins or tablets. and actually, as someone with anemia, I think L would actually have really strong cravings for rare or medium rare red meat when his iron is low and thus when he eats it he enjoys it.

My unpopular opinion about Matsuda: He's actually really smart, especially with humanities subjects. Just doesn't have great detective skills. A different career path may have been beneficial but he actually really believes in justice, probably more so than L and Light, and he actually QUESTIONS his own sense of justice which leads to more balance. he's such a great guy.

One thing I wish had happened with L in canon: he survived. and actually, I'd just really like to see him solve lots of cases. idk how many/if any he solved outside the anime but you know. a side series where he solves cases and explores the world and has tea parties with Watari would melt my heart.

One thing I wish had happened with Matsuda in canon: honestly I just wish we got to see more of him in general. I wish we got deeper into his character - into everyone's character, actually, they're all a little 2D and it's not just the animation - but yeah. more Matsu. how he works.

My L OTP: I'm not sure if I can pick one HAHAHHS I love all his relationships (well, my headcanons for them) from platonic to father and son to mentor and mentee to enemies together to lovers. yeah. I just like L LMAO but maybe Matsu. hm idk. I hear some people ship him with BB or Naomi and I wanna look into that.

My Matsuda OTP: lowkey L and Matsuda are one of my favourite ships. in Matsu's case I don't really ship him with anyone else so this is the only answer. some of you might have noticed that in my headcanons Matsuda plays Pokémon Go! and L is a Pokémon fan too... hmm... Also I like them cause they're both childish: like yeah L is always calling Matsuda stupid but does he call any other task force members stupid, even when they deserve it? no. arrogant child and silly child. even in non ship situations I think they're actually on similar wavelengths in a way.

My crossover ship for L: (platonic) Saiki K. you can't tell me they wouldn't be best friends come onnnn smnsndndm hehe

My crossover ship for Matsuda: I dunno actually...

A headcanon for L: if he has to wear shoes, he has to wear blue socks. not dark blue or navy, LIGHT, SATURATED BLUE. it's like neon ahhaha. there's little yellow flowers at the hem bits but his jeans cover them.

A headcanon for Matsuda: he doesn't like chips because they're too crunchy. he likes chips though. curly chips. YES I CALL BOTH TYPES CHIPS AND IT MAKES IT HARD TO DISCERN OVER TEXT SHSGYAYDH SORRY

re: “the jamie factor” to the roykeeley resolution in the finale, they really do have to do something about it because they heavily implied that keeley still had feelings for him multiple times at the beginning of the season and that was… never resolved? unless they intended the resolution to just be that she wanted to be friends with him?? but (and maybe this is just my shipping goggles) I don’t feel like that really explains how she was talking about him to shandy and jack

Exactly.

This is one of the few things that will actually hack me off if it's done incorrectly in the finale (read: Roy/Keeley getting back together and Jamie is neither mentioned nor shown. Or, 1000x worse, if they do show him finding out/one of them telling him afterwards and he's just like "Oh I'm so happy for you guys! my two best friends who I absolutely don't also have feelings for! together at last! :)" because WHAT). I'm pretty confident they won't do that because of how little sense it makes but like. It's still an illogical fear of mine.

And look, I'm all for an ambiguous ending in which ot3 isn't defined. I don't really need any further confirmation beyond what we got last week. But the fact that the narrative did start (and subsequently interrupt) an "I don't want to just be friends" conversation between Roy & Keeley makes it an almost certainty that they're going to finish said conversation. In which case, I don't see how Roy and Keeley could make any choice about their relationship without thinking about/including Jamie. The only route to ambiguity I can see is Keeley turning Roy down (maybe after some more glances in Jamie's general direction to suggest to viewers with eyes that he's part of the reason) and then the three of them shown briefly as friends again.

As you say, there's been several moments in the season where it's been made pretty clear Keeley is thinking about Jamie in that way again. And even in the moment where Roy/Keeley are talking and Jamie interrupts them, Keeley 1) does not look like she's about to give a resounding yes to Roy and 2) drops her hand SO fast the moment Jamie walks through the door. How else are we supposed to read this, like ?? We know Roy still loves Keeley, there's been nothing to indicate Jamie isn't still in love with Keeley (as he told her last season) and everything Roy/Jamie this season has not been subtle development... the dots are connecting in a way that the writers absolutely have to not only be aware of but also intentional about at this point.

Not to mention that last week the entire Jamie Roy Keeley plot was however many minutes of "there is no heterosexual or monogamous explanation for this" so uhhh. yeah. I can only conclude that ot3 is going to be addressed.

jamelri: domestic content (part 1) | twisted wonderland

just some small fluff about jamelri and how they navigate/live life whilst beings a polyship! please note that i am not poly myself, so if i got anything factually wrong or offending about poly relationships please let me know!

they navigate their relationship pretty well actually! if anyone struggles the most, it’s riddle as i firmly believe he has not much personal knowledge on romantic relationships in general (they were deemed as “unnecessary” by riddle’s mother, and it’s not like his own parents were the pinnacle of agape)

jamil’s the second person with the least amount of knowledge on love. sure he’s read countless stories to kalim and his young siblings, but jamil became quite hesitant when it came to real romance. the way kalim’s parents showered each other in riches and splendour while jamil’s parents made sacrifices for each other (and for the sake of the asim family) caused him to have a very unsure position on love though

else, though she’s also hardly ever shown much interest in romance, probably has the most knowledge on love. she’s seen examples of healthy relationships through her parents, and heartbreak from watching zhen’s relationships come and go. though she has little experience, she’s quite knowledgeable

else is the one who initiated the relationship; while jamil and riddle have grown feelings between each other, it was because of else that they realized they didn’t mind having multiple partners (else poly awakening real)

though all of them work hard to bring money home, they each have different domestic “roles” within the relationship.

for example, jamil’s the one who’s most knowledgeable on cooking, remedies for illnesses, and making sure his partners are fed well. he makes sure else and riddle are healthy and have their basic needs met. he also does the grocery shopping

riddle keeps tabs on the finances and taxes (once they move in together, of course), as well as maintenance and updates of their living arrangements. he has all the receipts organized and ready

else’s both the emotional support puppy gf (lol), the one who arranges dates and activities for the trio, and who’s also the main cleaner. deep cleaning and reorganizing stuff de-stresses her from her busy life as a lawyer

while the three can interchange tasks (or are learning how to), jamelri quickly learned which “roles” were suited best for them in their relationship

they’re all very awkward about the relationship at first because of their inexperience. all three of them have a hard time showing affection so openly, so it’s really hard to even tell they’re in love with each other unless you look at the small acts they do solely for each other

jamil fusses over his lovers a lot more, but the way he does so is very different with how he fusses over kalim. it’s out of love rather than mere obligation. he’s softer, less stressed, offering warm words rather than panicked shouts

riddle, on the other hand, fusses less. though it’s still quite hard for him, he’s learning to de-condition himself from being stuck to his rules. he’s also a lot more shy and easily flustered if shown any form of PDA. you’d think he’d be more uptight and stressed than ever, but no; after his overblot episode he knows that he needs to change. he doesn’t want to scare his lovers away

else becomes more demanding for affection. though the trauma of losing her parents before (and then her siblings when they went to Twisted Wonderland before her) caused her to be very cold like ice, she’s truly very much touch-starved and isn’t afraid to ask for affection publicly (of course while maintaining a certain degree of professionalism)

their go-to sleeping position is else in the middle, her head tucked under riddle’s arm; riddle is flat on his back on one side of else, and jamil lays on the other side of her with his arm stretched over both else and riddle (if that makes any sense)

jamil and else teach riddle a ton of things he missed out on because of his youth. they’re riddle’s biggest defenders and are always ready to fight back against the roseheart’s, especially else who has no ties to royalty and can say what she wants unfiltered (though jamil isn’t royalty, he still has close ties as a servant to the asim family)

personally, i feel like jamil would refuse to legally marry either else or riddle, at least until he can sever his ties from the asim family. he doesn’t want to drag them into the political (for the lack of a better word) mess between the viper and asim families, so he begs for them to wait until he can be freed

another jamil-focused hc: it takes many years, but when kalim finally gains enough power among his house, else and riddle plead with their old classmate to let jamil be freed. kalim, after much debate with his parents, complies; having grown up, he sees all the sacrifices jamil was forced to make by both their parents, and he wants to see him free

it’s also because the request was made by both of his old friends/classmates

jamelri have two daughters: amanda (else and riddle’s biological child) and zahira (else and jamil’s biological child). they call riddle “dad” or “father” and they call jamil “baba”. else is their “mama”

amanda is the older child by the way. jamil did not want to have a child while he was serving the asim, because he did not want them to also be forced to serve the asim family. as such, the three decided to put off having a child with jamil, and amanda was born first
