💁Welcome to day 6 of #YogainyourBody I am your host @Faern and today I am bringing you #EkaPadaKoundinyasana1 or #TwistedScissors . A lot of folks find #EKP1 more challenging than 2- so of course I'm the opposite😆 I kinda like being different. But my point is you never know how something will work for you until you try - can't judge the pose by its shape💡 . At first I was afraid 😱 of a faceplant. If this is you, place a bolster, blanket or pillow infront of your face to ease your mind. . There are a couple different ways of getting into this pose- some go from low or high lunge twist. I am fond of going from down dog though. After a good amount of core and leg warm ups and some twists... lift your leg up (let's say right) and get as much length as you can then slowly start to bring the knee towards your knees and then towards your left elbow as you begin to bend your elbow attempt to stack your knee on your elbow while also maintaining the length in the core and back leg. To get the back foot up you might hop it in just a little (depending on your proportions) and then when you bend the elbows you lift your core and lean a little to the right as you try to lengthen and left the back leg. . Note! You can use props creatively to get into the shape for example a carefully placed block for the back foot might be an idea. And pillows around. A perfectly perfect variation is plank pose with your right knee yearning for the left elbow💪 . Please feel free to add any questions below!
