Attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea risk pushing up the price of oil and other goods, analysts have warned.
Several firms have paused shipments through the route after vessels were attacked by Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The world’s second largest shipping line, Maersk, said on Tuesday that it would reroute some of its vessels around Africa’s Cape of Good Hope.
The disruption has led the US to launch an international naval operation to protect ships on the Red Sea route.
Countries joining the security action – named Operation Prosperity Guardian – include the UK, Canada, France, Bahrain, Norway and Spain.
The US has also said it would welcome China playing a constructive role in trying to prevent further attacks.
The analysts’ warnings came as the rebels vowed to continue their attacks in the Bab al-Mandeb strait, a vital shipping lane between Asia and Europe.
“Even if America succeeds in mobilising the entire world, our military operations will not stop… no matter the sacrifices it costs us,” said senior Houthi official Mohammed al-Bukhaiti on X, formerly Twitter.
What is the impact of the Red Sea attacks?
US defence secretary Lloyd Austin held a virtual meeting with ministers from more than 40 countries on Tuesday, and called on more nations to contribute to the security efforts.
“These reckless Houthi attacks are a serious international problem and they demand a firm international response,” he said.
The UK’s Ministry of Defence said the Royal Navy destroyer HMS Diamond would join the new task force, with the security situation “deteriorating”.
The Red Sea is one of the world’s most important routes for oil and liquefied natural gas shipments, as well as for consumer goods. It is bookended by the Bab al-Mandab Strait – also known as the Gate of Tears – in the south near the coast of Yemen and the Suez Canal in the north.
Houthis have declared their backing for Hamas in its war with the Israelis and the rebels based in Yemen said they were targeting vessels which they believe are heading for Israel.
However, some firms, such as Investor Chemical Tankers, whose Swan Atlantic vessel was attacked on Monday, said that its ship had no links to Israel.
Shipping firms have reported vessels coming under attack from drones and missiles.
“The ballistic missiles are really the tough one. This is the first time we’ve ever seen ships hit by this type of weapon,” Sal Mercogliano, a naval historian at Campbell University, told the BBC.
“It’s a very difficult type of missile to shoot down.”
Despite the launch of the international operation to ensure safe passage through the Red Sea, Maersk said it was not clear when it would resume journeys along the route, and would assess things on a case-by-case basis.
It said while it was pleased to hear of efforts to improve security in the area, “at this time it remains difficult to determine” when it would return to the Red Sea route.
Meanwhile, Hapag-Lloyd, a German firm whose Al Jasrah vessel was attacked last Friday, said that while it welcomed the new task force, the company needed 100% assurance the Red Sea was safe for ships to return.
The alternative route, around the Cape of Good Hope, adds about 3,500 nautical miles to the journey.
Hapag-Lloyd’s head of corporate communications Nils Haupt told the BBC: “We go from the eastern Med to Singapore. Normally it takes 13 days through the [Suez] Canal – without using the canal that will be 31 days.”
Attacks on ships have intensified in recent days. Investor Chemical Tankers said its Swan Atlantic tanker was hit by an “unidentified object” on Monday, while Maersk described the situation as “alarming” on Friday after a “near-miss” incident involving Maersk Gibraltar and another attack on a container ship.
Oil giant BP said on Monday that it would temporarily pause all shipments of crude through the route. Rival energy giant Shell has yet to comment.
At the moment, changes to the oil price have been minimal. Prices rose 1% on Monday, but on Tuesday they were little changed with benchmark Brent crude trading at around $78 a barrel.
As petrol is derived from oil, increases in the price of crude usually feed through to higher costs at the pump.
But Simon Williams, the RAC motoring group’s fuel spokesman, said while tankers avoiding the Red Sea had the “potential to push up the oil price, the barrel is still below $80, $15 lower than it was at the end of September”. “Talk of this immediately affecting fuel prices is unhelpful as we are still waiting for retailers to fully pass on the savings from much lower wholesale costs. We don’t want to give them a reason not to continuing cutting their prices, especially at the most expensive time of the year,” he added.
Mr Williams argued current petrol prices at £1.42 should be around 10p cheaper on average. “This means even if the Red Sea situation worsens, there is no reason for the biggest retailers to push up prices as fuel is still overpriced,” he added.
Richard Meade, editor-in-chief of shipping newspaper Lloyd’s List, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “What is going to be very interesting is if the tankers continue to reroute.
“That’s a much more finely balanced market that could have serious implications for the global supply chain.”
But rerouting will affect more than just oil. Mr Meade said 12% of global trade was taken through the Red Sea, which is about $1 trillion worth of goods a year.
“We’ve seen most of the main container carriers – these are the ones that carry finished goods, TVs, electronics, trainers – they have almost exclusively started rerouting,” he said.
Hapag-Lloyd told the BBC that it will have rerouted 25 ships by the end of the year, costing it tens of millions of dollars as the ships were booked before the attacks. However, it said new orders would “probably” see a rise in costs.
“This industry is keeping world trade alive and attacks on merchant shipping are unacceptable,” said Mr Haupt.
Getty Images
Marco Forgiona, from the Institute of Export and International Trade, told the BBC that rerouting would increase fuel and insurance costs for shipping, “and then you’ve got the issue that the ships are in the wrong place, the containers are in the wrong place and you get the potential for congestion at the ports and further delays”.
However, Mr Haupt said that while he expected to see congestion at some ports in a few weeks, “I don’t think it will be as tough as we have seen it during Covid.
“Yes we will see some disruption and we might see delays, but I would not expect this to be a total disruption of the supply chain.”
S&P Global Market Intelligence said that nearly 15% of goods imported into Europe, the Middle East and North Africa were shipped from Asia and the Gulf by sea. That includes 21.5% of refined oil and more than 13% of crude oil.
A rise in oil prices can lead to higher inflation, which measures the pace of price rises. Inflation has been falling in the UK and is currently 4.6%.
New figures out on Wednesday will show whether it has continued to drop but, at the current level, it is still more than twice the Bank of England’s 2% target. The Bank has, until recent months, been raising interest rates to cool inflation.

Eda’s Robot, Serkan’s Fairy Girl - Don’t Let Your Star Die - Part 2
Summary: Serkan and Eda make up for lost time. Eda confronts Serkan's father.
A/N: I thought the last chapter deserved a second chapter so here we are. This is my longest Edser chapter yet.
WARNING: SMUT
It's not all smut but there is smut. If that's not something you want to read I advise you to skip past it.
Also, I started writing this before it was revealed that Serkan moved into one of ArtLife's Apartments.
“Are you sure about this?” Eda asked, worrying her bottom lip as she sits on the edge of her hospital bed.
Serkan stepped forward and cupped her tilting her head up toward him. “I had to argue with your aunt and the girls but I finally got them to agree. I’m not going to back out now.”
“But you have work.” Eda protested. “You need to be at the office, I -”
“I need to be wherever you are.” Serkan corrected with a smile. “And you need to be resting and I promise you can do that quite perfectly in my home.”
“Which home?” Eda asked, cause she really could not deal with his parents.
She had been in the hospital for almost a week and was now being discharged under the condition that she would be cared for at home. However, Eda, would not be able to face Serkan’s parents until she was stronger. Only then could she confront them about her parent’s death.
“My home away from my parents. I moved out of my place with them.” Serkan told her.
Eda looked at him in surprise. “Did you move out because of me?”
“I moved out because I no longer want to see my father.” Serkan brushed her hair back. “I want nothing to do with him anymore.”
“Serkan, he’s your father, you can’t cut him out of your life.” Eda protested. She didn’t want to defend Alptekin but she didn’t want Serkan to lose his relationship with his father.
“How can you say that?” Serkan wondered. “Aren’t you angry?”
“I am but I know what it’s like not to have your parents in your life. I don’t want the same for you.” Eda replied.
Serkan shook his head. “How can you be so selfless?”
Eda smiled and reached up curling her hand around his neck, tugging her down to his level. She pressed her lips to his softly.
Serkan pressed closer, cupping her face tenderly, his lips pressing back against hers.
“Pardon,”
Eda pulled away from Serkan, flushing as her Doctor walked in with her released forms followed by a nurse wheeling in a wheelchair.
“Is the wheelchair necessary?” Eda wondered. “I can walk just fine.”
“Yes, you should not exert yourself early on.” her doctor answered. “It’s important that you don’t do anything to sabotage your recovery. Furthermore, I would like to go over instructions for home care. Now, this is very important.”
“She will do exactly as you say.” Serkan took Eda’s hand in his. “I will make sure of it.”
“Good,” her doctor said, he looked between them. “First, as I said she mustn’t overexert herself.” his eyes flickered between the two of them pointedly. “That means no strenuous activity. Especially with a partner.”
Eda’s eyes widened, her face heating in embarrassment.
She looked up at Serkan to see him, awkwardly rubbing at his neck, avoiding eye contact as he said. “Understood.”
“Furthermore, you need to allow your arm and your ribs time to heal, you need to be careful of your head injury until you are finished healing. I want to see you twice a week for the foreseeable future until I declare you healed.”
“Okay,” Eda nodded. “I can do that.”
“Good. We will be contacting you about your first appointment at the end of the week.”  The Doctor smiled and handed Serkan a prescription. “I am prescribing a powerful pain medication and here’s a sample until you can get it filled.” the doctor handed over a small prescription bottle.
Serkan nodded. “I will have it filled immediately.”
“I just need you to sign these discharge papers, Ms. Yildiz and you’re free to go.” The doctor handed her the paper and Eda signed the papers.
The doctor bidding them goodbye as the nurse and Serkan helped Eda into the wheelchair.
“I can take it from here,” Serkan said and wheeled Eda out of the room.
When they reached the elevators Eda closed her eyes. “I really hate this,”
“Don’t worry, we aren’t taking the elevator.” Serkan wheeled her past the Elevators.
Eda’s eyes opened, her surprise. Evident. “We’re not?”
“No, we are taking the stairs,” Serkan answered as they reached the door to the stairway. He maneuvered the wheelchair so he could push the door open.
“Serkan, we have to go down 6 floors. How do you intend to get the wheelchair down a flight of stairs with me in it.” Eda asked as the door closed behind them.
“I don’t.” Serkan moved around her sliding an arm beneath her back and another beneath her legs and lifted her.
Eda let out a surprised shriek and wrapped her good arm around his shoulder, clinging to the back of his neck. “Serkan!”
“I am going to carry you,” Serkan started down the stairs.
“I can’t believe how sweet you are,” Eda said with a smile. “Thank you.”
“Don’t distract me with your beautiful smile.” Serkan shook his head, fighting a smile of his own. “We’ll fall down the stairs and end up back here at the hospital.”
Eda grinned, tucking her head against his chest. “Okay,”
Serkan held her tighter against him as she curled in his arms.
When he reached the bottom of the steps he carried her out of the hospital toward his car that was parked in the parking lot.
He set Eda gently down and opened the door for her.
“Thank you.” Eda eased into the seat and Serkan reached around buckling her in before pulling back and closing the door.
Serkan rounded the car getting in the driver seat.
“Can I smile at you now?” Eda asked, already smiling at him.
“No,” Serkan reached out, tucking her hair behind her ear. “I will be driving and can’t afford to be distracted.”
Eda grinned. “Does my smile always distract you?” Eda wondered.
Serkan's thumb smoothed across her cheek. “You distract me. Everything about you, your smile, your eyes, your beauty, your kindness. Your very presence calls me to attention and you are all I can focus on.”
Eda smiled wide, her cheeks flushing, she cupped his cheek, her finger scratching through the stubble covering his jaw. “Good. It is the same for me.”
Serkan leaned forward giving Eda time to pull away. She did the opposite, she closed the remaining distance, pressing her lips to his softly.
Serkan’s lips moved against hers slowly, savoring the feel of her soft lips. He pulled back slowly, staring up at her. “The things you do to me, Eda Yildiz.”
“The things you make me feel, Serkan Bolat.” Eda bit down on her bottom lip.
Serkan eyes flickered down to her mouth again and it took all his strength to pull away and focus on pulling out of the parking lot.
“You’re going to kill me one day, do you know that?” Serkan asked as they pull on the road.
Eda laughed and ducked her head to keep from smiling at him and causing him to be distracted.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Eda felt herself being moved and her eyes opened as Serkan lifted her from her seat, kicking the car door shut. “I can walk.”
“I like carrying you,” Serkan countered. “I’ve missed the feeling of you in my arms."
Eda smiled, laying her head on his shoulder, allowing him to carry her into his home.
He gently placed her on the couch. “You rest here and I will fix you something to eat.”
“I’m not hungry, just sit with me.” Eda held her hand out to him.
Serkan lifted her hand to his lips, kissing her knuckles. “After you eat,” he insisted.
Eda pouted up at him. “Just a few minutes.”
Serkan shook his head. “You know what you do to me when you look at me like that.”
Eda’s pout slowly transformed into a beautiful smile that had Serkan, giving in and taking a seat beside her.
Eda tucked herself into his side and Serkan gently brought his arms around her as she leaned against his chest.
“I want to stay here,” Eda said.
“For how long?” Serkan fingers sifted through the soft strands of Eda’s hair.
“For the rest of the night.” Eda turned her head, tilting it up to look into his eyes. “You?”
“I have you in my arms, I don’t ever want to move.”
Eda beamed at him and tucked her head back into his chest.
A peaceful silence fell over them. Serkan forced himself to pull away ten minutes later. Eda had fallen asleep, he moved carefully, slipping a pillow beneath her head. He grabbed the throw blanket from the back of the couch and tucked her in.
Eda burrowed deeply into the couch, her hand unconsciously reaching out for him.
Serkan swept her hair back from her face and forced himself to turn away.
He moved toward the kitchen intending to fix her something healthy to encourage good healing.
Eda woke up to the smell of delicious Aroma’s filling the hair.
She sat up slowly, disoriented with sleep. “Serkan?”
“I’m right here.” Eda turned to see him setting the table. He walked over and helped her off the couch, taking her by the hand and leading her to the table.
Eda eased down into the chair, frowning at the bowl of soup in front of her. “You made soup.”
“Yes, it will be good for you and help you get your strength back.” Serkan set a glass of water next to her.
Eda forced a smile. “I’m sure I will like it.”
Eda let her smile drop as Serkan walked away. It wasn’t that it didn’t smell good. It was just that she did not want to eat soup. She was tired of eating healthy, she had enough of that at the hospital. Was it too much to ask for something with sugar or something fried?
Still, this had to be a step up from hospital soup. That had to count for something.
Eda had just talked herself up into eating the bowl of soup when Serkan placed a covered platter on the table. “Once you eat your soup you may have some of this.”
“What is it?” Eda reached for the lid. “Did you make a dessert?”
“No, no dessert.” Serkan caught her hand. “You eat first and then you will discover what it is.”
“Okay,” Eda smiled, picking up her fork. “I will eat.”
Serkan took his seat next to her, preparing to eat his own meal. He frowned, glancing at her injured arm.
“What is it?” Eda asked, noticing the change.
“If you weren’t injured I would hold your hand while we eat,” Serkan said.
“How sweet you are,” Eda said, scooping up a spoonful and taking the first bite.
Serkan ducked his head, smiling, he looked back at her, his eyes shining with love and adoration.
Eda ate the food he prepared. It was good but she was interested in what was on the silver platter.
She quickly finished her food, Serkan laughing at her haste all to get to what was hidden beneath the covered platter.
“Now what is beneath the platter?” Eda asked.
Serkan removed her plate and placed the platter in front of her, he grabbed the lid. “Are you ready?”
Eda nodded quickly.
Serkan eyes never left hers as he lifted the cover, setting it aside. He was delighted in the way Eda’s smile brightened so much her eyes shined.
“You actually made me some french fries?” Eda asked, turning that bright smile on him. “I didn’t know you knew how to make something so unhealthy.”
“It’s an easy dish and I know you love them.” Serkan smiled retaking his seat. “I hope you enjoy them.”
Eda grinned and grabbed two fries holding them out to him. “Since you made them you must help me eat them.”
“I will not.” Serkan shook his head.
“Yes,” Eda smiled widely and pushed the two pieces into his mouth.
Serkan chewed reluctantly while shaking his head.
Eda grinned at the look of fondness on his face and started eating her fries. It had the perfect amount of salt and was delicious. “This is good.”
Serkan smiled. “After you eat, I thought we could watch a movie or go outside and enjoy the stars?”
Eda smiled. “Are you trying to make up for lost time?”
“No, I just want to spend time with you doing the things we love,”
“Then perhaps you should kiss me,” Eda suggested.
“Kiss you?” Serkan repeated, his eyes darkening, his smile widening.
God, it had been so long since he smiled or felt this happy.
“Yes, I want to do things we love to do together. I love it when you kiss me,” Eda’s smiled, a blush covering her cheeks. “Do you love to kiss me?”
“I do,” Serkan leaned forward, cupping her face in his hands and brought his mouth to hers.
He moved his lips slowly, enticing her to do the same.
He stood slowly, pushing his chair back and moving closer to her, and wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her up.
A noise escaped Eda with the move, her body pressed against his hard muscled one. She ignored the pain in her arm, her body, and arched against him.
Serkan coaxed her mouth open, sliding his tongue inside, his hand slid down her neck slowly, down the side of her breast coming to rest on her hip.
Eda shivered at his touch, she felt her body was coming alive, whimpering into his mouth.
The needy sound had Serkan forgetting everything but the passion, the heat brewing between them.
He pushed the plates to the other end of the table and picked Eda up placing her on the table, dragging her to the edge as he stepped between her legs.
Eda arched into him, needing him closer, still. Her tongue tangled with his and reached both her arms up to encircle his neck.
She pulled her mouth from his reluctantly, a pained noise escaping her. Her arm ached.
A look of regret washed over Serkan. “Eda, I’m sor-”
Eda pressed her finger to his lips and shook her head. “Don’t apologize, it's not your fault I’m hurt.”
“We’re not supposed to be doing anything to slow your healing, I got carried away. That makes it my fault.”
“Then it’s my fault too. I wasn’t stopping you. I wanted it. I still want you.”
“Don’t say that to me. Not now. Not when I can’t show my appreciation for you in my touch. When I can’t make love to you.” Serkan helped her down from the table. “Go relax on the couch. I’ll join you for a movie, once I clean up the dishes.”
Eda nodded and moved over to the couch. Serkan made quick work of the dishes before joining her on the couch.
Eda chose the movie and curled into him as it began playing. Serkan ran his fingers slowly through her hair.
Eda would like to say she paid attention to the movie but that would be a lie. She focused on the feeling of being pressed against his body. The feel of his chest rising and falling, his fingers combing through her hair. She could focus on nothing but being in his arms. For the first time in weeks, she felt at peace and that she could just be.
Slowly she felt herself drifting off. Serkan felt her breathing evened out and maneuvered them until they were stretched out on the couch, with Eda curled around him, her legs hooked over his and her head resting over his chest. He was careful not to jostle her and disturb her healing injuries.
Serkan laid there with Eda in his arms feeling like his world had returned to him. He had trouble sleeping since he had ended things with Eda but now having her back with him, he could feel sleep coming to him easily. Wrapping his arms around her carefully and allowing sleep to claim him.
Hours later Eda’s eyes drifted open, taking in her surrounding she found Serkan sleeping peacefully with her half laying on top of him.
She reached up with her uninjured arm, tracing the beautiful angles of his jaw. Her nails scratching through his stubble that had grown a little more since their departure from one another.
Serkan’s eyes fluttered open and he stared down at her and she watched fascinated as his eyes filled with emotion, the irises darkening.
“Good morning,” Eda murmured cupping his jaw.
“Good morning,” his hand came up to cover hers, he turned his head kissing the inside of her palm, his eyes never leaving hers.
“What are you thinking?” Eda asked, after a long moment, moving to sit up, however, all she ended up doing was straddling his lap.
Serkan set up slowing leaning his back against the arm of the couch and resting his hands on her hips. “That I want to wake up every morning just like this.”
Eda leaned forward and brushed her lips against his, her hair cascading around them in dark waves.
“A beautiful way to start the day,”
Eda pulled back suddenly. “Don’t you have to get ready for work?”
“I can work from here,” Serkan dismissed.
“Serkan, you have to go to work,” Eda laughed.
“I will be working and if there’s a crisis I will go to the office but until then I will work from home where I can be here for you and we can make up for lost time.” Serkan insisted, brushing her hair back over her shoulder.
“I won’t be a distraction for you?” Eda questioned, her hand moving slowly down his chest.
“You will be the worst distraction I can possibly have but I will handle it.” Serkan's hand circled the back of her neck. “It won’t be the first time you’ve taken my focus from work and it most definitely won’t be the last.”
He tugged her forward, claiming her lips with his own.
Eda didn’t want to continue trying to convince him he needed to work when she had missed having his attention on her, the feel of his lips gliding over hers, and the feeling of his hands roaming her body like he was trying to worship every inch of her with his touch alone.
She fell into the kiss, savoring every moment of his affection and touch.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Eda sighed as her phone vibrated for what felt like the hundredth time.
“Your Aunt?” Serkan asked, leaning against the wall.
“No, this time it was Melo.” Eda put her phone away. “They're just eager for good news. I need a clean bill of health.”
Serkan was in full agreement. He needed Eda to have a clean bill of health for both of their peace of minds.
Since the accident, Eda had been practically living with him for the last few weeks. He loved having her there. He loved sharing a bed with her however the pent-up sexual tension was going to be the death of him.
He had barely got any work done, the last few weeks had been him making out with Eda, watching movies, looking at the stars, just being with her but he had held himself back constantly when all he really wanted to do was make love to Eda, reclaim their love in the physical sense he felt they both needed.
Serkan’s head snapped up as the door to the hospital room was opened and Eda’s doctor stepped in.
“Mrs. Yildiz, I am pleased to inform you that you have a full bill of health. Your ribs have healed up nicely, you’re received from injury and I see no prolonged injuries with your shoulder in any of your x-rays.” The doctor said while looking over her chart.
“That’s great. Does that mean I’m free to go?” Eda asked.
“It does, just make sure to see your primary physician in a few weeks as a precaution.”
“This is great news,” Eda pulled out her phone. “I have to call Aunt and the girls and tell them.”
“Quick question,” Serkan stepped forward. “I want to make sure I understand fully. Eda has a full bill of health and can return to her life as she had before? Exercise, daily activities, strenuous work?”
“Serkan!” Eda’s cheeks heated.
“What?” Serkan’s shoulders raised in his defense. It was a legitimate question and one he needed to know.
“Yes, she returned to all previous activities, strenuous or otherwise,” The doctor took the question in stride. “You’re free to go. Remember to see your primary physician in a few weeks.”
“I will,” Eda promised as Serkan helped her back into her jacket.
10 minutes later they were back in Serkan’s car. “Where are we going?” Eda asked. “To see the girls, my Aunt?”
“No.” Serkan stopped at a red light and looked over at her, his eyes were dark. “We’re going home.”
“Home?” Eda’s body heated from the look in his eyes.
“Home.” Serkan reached over and took her hand and brought it to his lips.
Eda shivered as he pressed his lips against her pulse, there was something so sensual about the touch that had her craving for so much more.
Eda shed her coat when they made it through the door, Serkan reached for her drawing him to her, his mouth taking over hers in a heated kiss walking them backward.
Eda pushed his coat from his shoulders and he released her long enough to take off his jacket, he grabbed the bottom of her shirt and pull it from her body, leaving her in her bra and blue skirt.
Eda’s hands moved to the button of his shirt, quickly undoing the buttons.
Her fingers fumbled with the last few buttons as his hands slipped beneath her skirt, clenching at her thighs.
Her core throb with need as his fingers grazed closer to her sex.
“Serkan,” her voice broke with need, desire, want.
Serkan lifted her, his fingers digging into her ass and he started moving through the home, his mouth placed opened mouth kisses along her cleavage.
Eda grabbed his face directing his lips back to hers, sucking his bottom lip into her mouth.
Serkan groaned, grinding his hips into hers, pushing her skirt higher up, bunching it at her hips.
Eda let out a gasp feeling him pressing against her through the fabric of their clothes.
She arched her back, pressing her breasts against him.
Serkan pushed off the door and walked to the bed, laying her back on the soft mattress, he stood over her staring down at her, his eyes dark and fathomless with desire.
Eda sat up slowly, her chest heaving as she pushed his shirt off the rest of the way.
Serkan gathered her in his arms, his hand threading in her hair, tilting her head back, his lips seeking hers, his right arm slid behind her back and expertly undid her bra with one hand.
Eda reached up and pushed the loosed garment off her arms and tossed it away. She placed her hands against his chest tracing every muscle all the way down to the dip of his waist. Serkan placed his hands on her shoulders and urged her back. Eda rested back against the soft mattress her hair fanning out along her, watching as Serkan removed his belt and undid his pants.
He nudged off his shoes and rid himself of his pants and boxers until he was standing in front of her stark naked. His cock fully erect and standing at attention.
Eda bit her lip, admiring every perfectly sculpted inch of him. He was perfect.
Serkan leaned forward grasping the waistline of her skirt, hooking his thumb beneath her panties, and dragged them down, he ran his hands down her calves removing her heels before lowering his body and kissing a path from her ankle up to her thigh, working his way to the apex of her thighs.
Eda felt his bot breath on her flesh and she held her breath in anticipation, she could feel her sex growing hotter, wetter with her arousal.
“Please,”
“Shh,” Serkan hushed her gently. She would never have to beg him for anything. He'd gladly give her whatever she wanted. All she had to do was ask.
Eda’s breath quickened, his lips pressed to her sex and she gasped.
The first taste of her on his lips was tantalizing to Serkan, he gripped her thighs and positioned them over his shoulders, opening her up further, he stroke his tongue slowly against her wet sex.
Eda moaned lowly in the back of her throat, her chest rising and falling as Serkan pleasured her with his tongue.
When he pulled back she let out a whimper that quickly turned into a cry as his thumb found her bundle of nerves rubbing in circles. His mouth closed over her sex and he sucked.
Eda cried out, her fist clenching, hips thrusting against his seeking tongue. “Oh, fu-”
Her orgasm was building fast. “Serkan,” she said in warning, grabbing a hand full of his hair, trying to tug his mouth away. “I’m going to-”
“I don’t care,” the words were from deep in his chest, his wet lips brushing against her sensitive flesh. His mouth covered her and he sucked hard.
Her body bowed as she hit her crest falling over the edge, screaming Serkan’s name.
Her breathing was ragged as Serkan licked up every last drop of her arousal, she fell back against the mattress her chest heaving.
Serkan swiped his thumb across his lip, sucking the digit into his mouth and cleaning her juices off.
Slowly kissing his way up her body, her legs falling to his hips, he braced himself on his arms, cradling her close to his body, his stomach pressed to hers, her soft supple breast pressing against his muscled chest, his hard cock pressing up against her, sensitive flesh.
“Are you alright?” His voice was deep and sounded like sex.
Eda grasped his face, and kissed him tasting herself on his lips, hitching her legs higher on his hips.
Her hands released his face, sliding over his shoulders and down his back, her left hand moving between them to grasp his cock and position the head at her entrance.
A groan vibrated through Serkan’s chest, his hands fisting in the sheets on either side of her.
Her other hand pulled at his ass urging him forward.
It was all the encouragement Serkan needed. He thrust his hips forward, his cock was sheathed in her wet heat in one smooth move.
Eda ripped her mouth from his, gasping, throwing her head back in pleasure.
She rocked against him, the slightest movement of him inside of her, sending small shockwaves of pleasure through her.
Serkan breathed heavily, his hands moved to grab at her thighs hitching her legs higher as he withdrew from her until just the head of his cock was still inside of her.
Eda whimpered in protest, "Ser-”
Serkan pushed inside of her sharply until his hips met hers.
“Kan!” Eda’s voice broke off into a cry she grasps at his shoulders, nails digging in as he started a fast hard space that had her body jolting, the sound of her cries growing louder with every thrust. Pushing her closer and closer to a second orgasm.
“Eda, you feel so perfect,” Serkan groan, the way she tightened around him felt exquisite.
Eda keened, her hands clutching at him in an attempt to ground herself. Her hips arched off the bed and her back bowed as one sharp thrust had him hitting a spot inside of her that had her seeing stars.
Serkan felt Eda, convulsing around him right before she came, her moans growing loud.
She tightened around him so fucking tight, he buried himself as far as he could, placing his mouth against her chest and breathing deeply, holding off his own release.
He wasn’t done, he was gonna make damn sure, Eda had another orgasm. It was going to be slow and beautiful as their love for one another.
Eda slowly came down her breaths shallowing out and her hands moving over his back. “Wow,” she breathed, “that was-” she broke off on a whimper as Serkan’s redrew his cock from her before pushing back inside her slowly, inch by inch, until she could feeling nothing but him, pushing inside her, stretching her in a way he hadn’t before “Fuck!” she cursed.
Her body was so sensitive from her previous two orgasms and his cock was hard inside her, his body rocking against her, his large hands sliding across her body like a sensual massage, his mouth pressing to her skin with a reverence.
It was like he was worshipping every inch of her inside and out.
Serkan hands ran along every her body, touching every inch of her, mapping out her curves to carve into his mind, his heart, the feel of her wrapped around him too good of a feeling too ever be taken for granted.
Eda soft moans turned into a cry of pleasure as Serkan grasp her ass angling his hips and drove into her sharply, his angled changing, pressing against her.
Pleasure washed over her with his slow, loving movements.
There was something about the slow torture that pushed her over the edge, giving her an orgasm that put the last two to shame.
Serkan helped her through her orgasm before sub combing to his own release, he gave a few sharp thrusts and buried himself as deep as he could, and spilled his essence inside her, groaning her name as he came hard.
Serkan braced himself on his arms, careful not to crush as he brushed lips across her collarbone, whispering “I love you” into her skin.
Eda smoothes her hand through his hair and down his back, she pressed a kiss against his forehead and grasped his face, bringing his mouth back to hers, in a slow kiss.
Serkan wrapped his arms around them and rolled them until she laid across his body and tangled his hand in her hair, deepening the kiss.
Eda parted their lips, staring into his eyes with nothing but warmth and love. “I love you, too.”
Serkan smiled, pressing another kiss to her lips.
After Eda laid her head on his chest, the beat of his heart against her ear, his arms wrapped around her, holding her tightly to his chest as she drifted off to sleep.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Serkan and Eda had spent the last couple of days cut off from work but now he had to go into the office. Serkan had a meeting with a client and he didn’t trust Efe's intentions for anything related to Art Life or the Holding. The quicker Efe was gone from his life the better he would feel.
Serkan took a quick, shower, and dressed in his suit, he fixed his tie and stepped out into his bedroom.
Eda was still fast asleep, her arm thrown over his side of the bed as if she was reaching out for him. He smiled softly, placing one knee onto the bed, and leaned over her, tucking the blanket around her.
He brushed her hair back from her forehead, his fingers grazing her skin.
Eda’s eyes fluttered open and her lips pulled into a sleepy smile.
“Rest,” he said, leaning forward and brushed his lips against her cheek. “I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
Eda nodded, her eyes falling shut again and Serkan smiled and released her, making sure she was as comfortable as could be, he turned, swiping his phone and keys from the table to head out.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Eda exited the Taxi and walked past the gate into the Bolat home. After waking up and reading a note Serkan had left her about going to the office and would be back shortly she thought now was the perfect time to go and see Alptekin Bolat.
She walked through the garden out to the outside patio, Seyfi was with Aydan as she did her relaxation exercises.
“Hello, Aydan.” Eda greeted, she smiled over at Seyfi. “Seyfi.”
Seyfi smiled widely. “Eda, it’s good to see you again.”
“Eda,” Aydan stumbled trying to stand up straight and swept her hair back quickly. “What are you doing here?”
“I wish to speak with you and Alptekin.” Eda raised her chin, taking a breath. “I know the truth about my parents' death. Serkan told me.”
“Oh, Eda, I am so sorr-”
Eda held Aydan and held up her hand. “Stop. I don’t want to speak more of this until I can speak with both you and Alptekin.”
Aydan fell silent and nodded. “Come to the house,”
She turned and started walking and instead of following Seyfi moved to Eda’s side. “Eda, are you alright? I heard from Serkan about your accident. I wanted to visit but Serkan said it was not necessary.” he rolled his shoulders. “I think he just wanted to keep you all to himself. He cares about you so much.”
“Thank you for asking. I am fine.” She smiled and started following behind Aydan.
Alptekin looked up when his home office door was opened, his lips pulled into a smile at his wife but it quickly dropped Eda entered the room. He stood quickly. “Eda?”
“We need to talk,” Eda said, her voice sharp with anger. “Serkan told me everything.”
Alptekin swallowed. “Eda, I wanted to tell you but Serkan-”
“Don’t” Eda cut him off. “Don’t blame him. This is on you.”
“You’re right, it is. Please, give me the chance to explain.” Alptekin pleaded, walking around his desk to stand directly in front of Eda. “Let me help you understand.”
“How can I possibly understand any of this? You are the reason my parents are gone and you let your son shoulder your mistake. You let him take the blame for something that wasn’t his fault. It was destroying both of us and still, you said nothing. How sorry could you really be?!” Eda demanded.
“More than you know,” Alptekin said. “I wanted to tell you the truth but Serkan wanted to protect you. I’m not blaming him. All of this is on me, I was reckless and overwhelmed and your parents paid the price. If I could go back and change things I would.”
Eda’s eyes filled with tears. “You can’t and all there is left to do is to move forward. I look at you and I see my parents but that’s not all I see. I see your son, Serkan, who I love more than I could ever imagine was possible.”
“Eda, don’t make Serkan pay for this,” Aydan said, she took a step toward Eda but then stopped. “He loves you, he was only trying to protect you from this.”
“I know but it wasn’t his decision to make, it’s mine.” Eda held up her hand when Aydan opened her mouth to speak. “Let me finish. Serkan should have trusted me to not blame him because I don’t. He did not indirectly cause my parent's death.” she looked Alptekin. “You did. I don’t know if I would have got involved with Serkan if I had known the truth from the start but it’s too late now. I love your son, he’s a part of me. He’s the other half of my soul and not even this will make me give him up.”
Aydan nodded, clasping her hands together.
Alptekin nodded. “I’m glad to hear that. Serkan has struggled without you.”
“I want a future Serkan and he wants the same with me which we will be a part of each other’s family but don’t mistake that for forgiveness.” she looked at Alptekin. “I’m not sure I can ever forgive you. However, I want Serkan to be happy. I want Serkan to have both parents in his life. I will be civil with you for him but that is all I can offer.”
Alptekin nodded somberly. “I understand, I hope one day, you can forgive me. I will do whatever I can to make this easy for you. My son is lucky to have someone who cares so much about his happiness.”
Eda thought of the way Serkan loved her. With his whole being. They both were lucky to have found a love so strong it could overcome all obstacles.
Her phone vibrated and she looked to see Serkan’s name flashing on the scream. “Hello,” she pressed the phone to her ear.
“Where are you? I’m at home but you're not here.”
Eda could hear the worry in his voice. “Relax. Be calm, Serkan. Everything’s fine. I was taking care of some business. I’m coming back now.”
“Good. Are you hungry?” Serkan asked, and she could already hear him moving things around in the kitchen in the background.
“Starving,” Eda answered.
“Good, I’ll prepare us something for tonight and we’ll eat together and go for a walk with Sirius when you get home.”
Home.
Eda smiled. Yes, home. She used to believe that home was a place. It was the house she lived with her aunt and Melo, where she spent time with girls. However, that wasn't true anymore. Things were different.
Her home hadn’t felt like home since she fell in love with Serkan.
Serkan he was her home now. Her safety. The place she belonged.
“I’ll see you soon, Love,” Eda said and turned away from the Bolat’s who were watching.
She was going to Serkan. She was going home.
The future wasn’t going to be easy but she was confident that she could face anything as long as she had herself and she had Serkan.
She believed in them more than she believed in anything. She was choosing to believe their love could brave any storm.
Because their love was worth fighting for.
A/N: Thanks for reading. I hope you're enjoying reading EdSer as much as I enjoy writing them.

Thoughts on Episode 11 (take 2):
SPOILERS BELOW!!
Alright I’ll get this out there right now…OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! ASDFGHJKL!!!
I haven’t fangirl squeed like this since the Max/Zoey moments in Episode 12 (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist)!!
*deep breaths* okay I’m calm….for the moment.
I’ll go into everything else before I touch on Serkan and Eda.
I really really really hate how Selin treats Ferit, he deserves better, someone who truly loves him. Honestly I’m kind of hoping he will decide to leave Selin at the altar. A man can only be ignored for another man so many times before he’s done!
Ayfer’s reaction to the contract is a bit over the top, granted she didn’t have all the facts, but still it’s not as though they eloped and are actually married. Especially because she is now deceiving Eda with the scholarship money, which we all know Eda will find out the truth about.
Aydan’s talk with Eda is not terribly surprising all things considered. Yes they’ve grown close and Eda has helped them all, but Aydan is not a woman who embraces change. Selin is the model wife for Serkan, she will listen to whatever Aydan says and wants (something Eda does not do), and because Serkan is not in love with Selin their marriage should ve “safe” from heartaches. Aydan wants to keep her only child close and to protect him from the world, even at the cost of losing the woman he loves.
I’m glad all the girls know the truth now, it was hard for Eda to deceive everyone, though in the end she wasn’t acting anymore, she does love Serkan. But it was causing a strain on the friendship so I’m pleased that they all made up.
I love Eda and Leyla’s relationship. Eda has helped Leyla grow and Leyla has gotten easier and I’m 100% here for sassy/snarky Leyla!
I really do love Engin, he’s just so sweet but clueless when it comes to the women in his life.
So I realized writing my last post that Engin is in a similar situation to Sekan with the two women in his life. On the one hand there is the woman who they’ve known, worked with a d been friends with for years, who has feelings for them (Piril/Selin). And on the other you have the newcomer who helps pull them out of their shell, gets to know the real them outside of work (Engin claims to have a life outside of work, but we have yet to see proof if it), and they are so different from the other women in their lives like a breath of fresh air (Ceren/Eda).
I hope that Engin forgives Ceren because I like them together, they’re adorable and sweet together.
Alptekin’s bombshell, wow, I mean WOW! It definitely sheds light onto why Eda doesn’t want her grandmother’s money. They say the money is Eda’s by right, which it would be since she lost both her parents. It would also explain why Eda and her grandmother do not speak, Eda would see taking the money as a betrayal to her parent’s memories. If Alptekin covered it all up, he would have paid an exorbitant amount of money to the family to keep it from being investigated or in the news (something neither family would want as it would be unseemly). Eda views the money as blood/hush money, gotten at the cost of her parent’s lives, so she wants no part of it. I think this will make the fact that Ayfer went to her mother for the money for Eda, a bigger issue for Eda, with Ayfer going behind her back against her wishes.
The way Ayfer insists that Eda have nothing to do with any of the Bolat’s makes me wonder if she knows that the holding is responsible for the death of Eda’s parents and that Alptekin is the one who arranged to have it covered up.
Now onto our favorite couple!!
The interlocked hands and cheek kiss in front of Selin and Ferit were just so natural, they both forgot that they were just playing parts.🥰🥰
Telling Serkan’s fortune with the song? Oh yes most assuredly, and of course now we have the reason for the show name (apparently it is also Piril’s actress doing the singing, which is lovely and awesome)
I love Ceren and Engin offering advice and the parallel shots/dialogue. Engin is really trying to get Serkan to realise that Eda does love him!
Ugh and the sleeping on “their” sides of the bed with the picture and guitar pick?😭😭😭 Also I love that the picture is from when they had to “make up” after a “fight” on the balcony while the girls listened in. You know Melo was the one to take the picture, print it out and give it to him (I love her and Serkan’s relationship!)
Lmao at the watch coming back! Always beeping around Eda, despite his claims that the watch is broken he still wears it 🤣🤣😉
The doctor’s rose house and story were so lovely and beautiful. That is totally going to be their home together, he had her designing the house and gardens to what she would want. She even said she would want to live in a house like that (so would I!). He could use it once it’s all fixed as the place to truly propose!🥰🥰🥰
Serkan desperately trying to keep Eda at his side in the office. He’s just so sure that she wants to get away from him because she doesn’t like him. 🥺🥺🥺
Bless Seyfi for always looking out for team Edser! He knows who and what Serkan needs! (If this was Shakespeare, Seyfi would be Robin Goodfellow/Puck bringingnour lovers together). And Eda dropping everything to be at his side.
Also Eda telling Selin she would stay with him, despite Selin saying that Serkan likes to be alone when he is sick. Selin may have known him for longer, but she only knows the facade that Serkan puts up to keep people at a distance. Eda knows the real Serkan, he trusts her and is open with her in a way he isn’t with anyone else.
Telling one another’s fortunes with pages from The Little Prince was so sweet (made me want to go back and read it again since it’s been at least 20 years since I last read it).
Serkan’s painful memories 😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺. My heart aches for him so. I feel for the whole family, but he was so young and he needed love and support, but instead was sent away. It sheds light on why he’s so reserved with his emotions and trust, and I hope he will be able to share the whole story with Eda (and us) someday.
“Eda do not leave me.” “I’ll go too. Wherever you want.” 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰🥰 Serkan is so vulnerable here. And of course he doesn’t remember any of it until it’s almost too late!!!
Eda telling Selin the truth, ugh my heart 💔💔💔. And then looking like she might faint from the stress and heartbreak of it (though she’s fainted less and less with Serkan around to help with her anxiety/stress, though he has caused his fair share too!)
I was wondering when we would get to see Sirius again! Sweet boy just wants Mom and Dad to be happy together. And Serkan trying to use Sirius as an excuse to see Eda again😭😭😭
Serkan giving us a heart attack calling Selin to meet him. I don’t think he ever intended to say yes to Selin, he was just stalling for more time till he could come up with a different solution. I certainly hope Selin gets a bit of a backbone after this realizing that she needs to stop dropping everything for Serkan (even when it isn’t him doing the calling/asking).
Serkan making the taxi pullover, declaring that Eda is his bride, and taking charge!😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥 Serkan is always hot, but there is something about him taking control that is just 🔥🔥🔥🥵🥵🥵
Asking about packing flip flops in her suitcase because it is so light 🤣🤣🤣. Serkan mark my words she will get you in a pair of flip flops someday!
The confession🥰🥰🥰 so complete them, arguing, talking about how Serkan can’t get her out of his head! ❤❤
And finally a real kiss!!! All their other almost kisses (and the first kiss) are so charged with UST (which I love), but this one was so sweet, loving and romantic!😍😍😍😍
Now I’m off to watch the end of the episode and the fragman for 12 on repeat until next Wednesday!!
Alright I think that was everything I had written before. If not I’m sure I’ll add some random posts later lol.

Sen Çal Kapımı Episode 16 aka Mistrust Is In the Air
Last week brought us another light and funny but, unfortunately, also a filler episode. Actually, for me, it turned out to be one of the most conflicting ones. I absolutely loved it while I was watching it live. I guess it's because the Haunting of Bly Manor / the Haunting of Hill House pulled out all of my insides and then ripped them to shreds so watching SCK was such a reprieve. This episode was even funnier and lighter than episode 15 which still had some lingering angst. I can declare episode 16 almost completely angst-free.
After having rewatched the episode with the subs I've got a feeling that the writers are trying to mess with some of my favourite characters and dynamics. I don't appreciate it. Still love the show, the cast, the characters. Just didn't enjoy certain writing decisions in this episode. Let's get down to it.
Now I'm going to break my habit and start with the one thing I hated:
❌☣️❌ Eda and Ceren: what the hell was that scene in the office when Eda spotted Ceren and Ferit talking and then tried to... do what exactly? warn Ceren? give some constructive relationship advice? support her?🤔
the first and the main problem I had with the scene was the energy - I don't know what caused it but it lacked the love and warmth that had always been there between all the girls; no matter what happened - even in that shitty situation with Kaan and when Ceren was the first to find out about the contract or even when Fifi and Melo finally learned about it - there was true girl power, they didn't allow anything or anyone mess up their friendship, they supported each other, tried not to judge and be understanding; so for me to see Eda so cold and kinda detached towards Ceren was a shock; maybe it would have been ok in a conversation with Pırıl or Selin since they're not friends but given that Eda was talking to one of her closest friends the way she spoke with Ceren was just wrong; moreover, Eda came off downright condescending; that's why Ceren's reaction was understandable in a way; I liked how she called Eda out on her lack of support;
if you think that your friend is making a huge mistake it's ok to show concern, it's ok to even say "hey, what the hell are you doing?" but you have to do this with love, you have to make sure that your friend knows - even if they mess up you will be there not with "I told you so" but with silent support; I didn't see that kind of love from Eda;
and while (as I have already mentioned) I partially understand and support Ceren's reaction I think it was a bit too aggressive;
and the way they parted with *itch faces just left a horrible aftertaste in my mouth 🤢 - THE *UCK THE WRITERS ARE DOING MESSING UP WITH MY GANG LIKE THAT???
The things I didn't like / was annoyed with:
❎ Selin: what's her problem with Ceren? have I missed something and Ceren stole her man?👀🤔 nope, don't recall anything like that happening;
Selin's channelling the kind of behaviour I really hate - she didn't give a shit about Ferit when they were together, was ready to dump him at the snap of Serkan's fingers and now when they're not together she's behaving as if Ferit has no right to even as much as talk to another woman; what's even more infuriating is that it's not jealousy because it would require having some sort of feelings and there are none on Selin's side; which brings us back to her ego and unbelievably self-centred persona;
her mistrust in Ceren as a lawyer also seems to stem from a personal dislike and Ceren's interactions with Ferit (at least it looks like that to me);
all in all this tension between Selin and Ceren is messing with the female dynamics because it's brought something the writers managed to avoid in the past - women being petty and bitchy towards each other;
❎ Efe: man, if he was just shady in the past, in this episode he was freaking snaky 🐍👀;
I understand that Serkan's attitude is unpleasant to say the least and there were moments when he was downright rude but in his case it's not being rude for the sake of rudeness; I think Serkan has excellent gut feeling; he didn't trust Efe even for a second from the very first meeting and his rudeness stems from this mistrust; Serkan is not a type of a person who's going to pretend to like someone for the sake of appearances, hypocrisy is not in his nature (which is one of the things I admire about our precious Scanner 😍❤️);
but back to Efe - yes, Serkan's not making it easy for him but he was like that from the very beginning and Efe seemed so nice, so friendly, so open to this partnership; all smiles and down-to-earth attitude; so what happened to his face in this episode? Serkan spat into his coffee?🙈😆🤣
I mean, really, have I imagined it or there was barely contained irritation and something even darker on his face?👀🤔 there was a small moment when he was moving a chair with a little bit more force than necessary 😬
I also don't like him getting so close to Eda; I still don't see anything romantic there but rather his malicious forethought is becoming more obvious;
also - was I the only one to think that a black rose he talked about with Eda was symbolic? here's what I have found about black roses:
"In the language of flowers, roses have many different meanings, with black roses specifically symbolizing ideas such as hatred, death, and despair"👀😳😱
ok, I am not calling him a Horseman of the Apocalypse quite yet but damn, he's gonna bring chaos, I am sure 😱😳😬
❎ Engin and Serkan: okay, these two dummies deserve the titles of the worst boyfriend and male friend respectively🤦
honestly, Engin forgetting about Pırıl's birthday shows him as careless and superficial; a man who claims to have been in love with Pırıl for years and who's also been friends with her for so long would have remembered such a small fact unless he's got a serious head trauma🧠🔨
as for Serkan, a character whose certain qualities have been constructed with remarkable consistency, forgetting about Pırıl's birthday is just ridiculous, unbelievable and completely OOC; sorry but that's just lazy writing🤷
it could have been avoided with just one line: "Yeah, it's Pırıl's birthday. I had Leyla send her flowers in the morning" - BOOM! that's it!
❎ Edser: yeah, I know, it's unprecedented for my babes to make it into this section 😬 but there were certain things I didn't quite enjoy;
1 - while the office scene where Serkan asked Eda whether or not she had accepted Efe's offer was humourous and funny it was also painfully immature; that's a conversation between two pre-schoolers not a conversation between two adults;
2 - Eda's conversation with Leyla where Eda asked about Selin; I smelled some jealousy and, honestly, I think it was completely out of nowhere; and Serkan's reactions to them talking also seemed kinda weird because he normally looks like that when Efe is around Eda; jealous of Leyla now?👀😆🙈
3 - karaoke bar scenes; Serkan's appearance was also kinda out of nowhere; since he was adamant about not going it would have been nice to see what had changed his mind; didn't like him telling Eda something along the lines of "we're broken up but I don't want to see you with Efe" - it's the type of "I wanna eat a cake and have it too" attitude that I cannot stand; I understand that it's hard for Serkan but he's made a decision, he's made this bed so to speak, now he has to sleep in it; moreover, discussing this with a clearly tipsy Eda - not a very smart idea;
a dance scene - while romantic and all it lacked logic and seemed a little bit like Serkan was taking advantage of the situation;
4 - a visual side of the flashbacks; they looked weird, as if I was looking through dim glass;
And finally the things I liked😏:
☑️ Edser: while immature and all I cannot deny that their kindergarten level fights are cute; it's better than them being petty, angry and cruel towards each other;
the beginning of the episode was just GOLD, with disoriented and doped up Eda and her calling Serkan "Aşkım" and his reaction like WTF?👀😳 and how when she said something nice he was like "ok, I should write that down and then remind you of this" - he's such a little shit😏😆;
there was also a moment when Eda cupped his cheek and I swear I saw Serkan melt, he was a breath away from nuzzling into Eda's palm and purring😹😻
them being in that house broken up, trying to maintain distance, avoiding physical contact - such contrast with the flashbacks where they couldn't keep their hands to themselves, where they were practically glued to each other;
I loved how the flashbacks were shown through Eda and Serkan's eyes - wherever they looked they saw ghosts of those happy moments;
the scene where they tried to talk and Eda asked Serkan to tell about a day he hurt someone, then a day he was hurting, then a day he was the happiest - so painful to see both of them clearly hurting; while Eda was openly crying, Serkan's eyes were red-rimmed and I swear I thought he was going to start crying too; it's so freaking hard for him to see Eda in pain 😭💔
another heartbreaking moment - a parallel scene when they both talked about their rings; I loved how they used the same, word-for-word reasoning for not taking their rings off; must be the soulmate thing😏😊💞
Serkan's inability to say no to Eda even when they're broken up is my gem; if one day they have a daughter her and Eda will have Serkan completely wrapped around their fingers😂😆🙈
in that last scene when Eda was leaving after her meeting with Aydan, when Serkan asked "Did my mother upset you?" - oh boy, could you maybe be less obvious? your love and concern are right there, on your forehead 🙈😆
☑️ Leyla and Erdem: I dunno I kinda ship them now🚢❤️ 🙈😂
honestly I am so over Erdem's obsession with Fifi; him and Leyla, on the other hand, look really cute together, both a bit cray-cray 🤪
the scene with them hangover in the office, wearing dark glasses - cracked me up; also has anyone noticed Erdem's cup with "Ciao" on it? a nice nod to Italy and maybe a bit of foreshadowing? Italy is not going anywhere; I feel like we're going to get the freaking time jump where Eda leaves to go to Italy 👀😬
loved the "I hate you / Our feelings are mutual" parallel with Edser
☑️ Aydan: this lady has a long way to go until she is in my good graces but I really liked that the writers decided to move her storyline forward;
I think lots of her unlikeable qualities stem from her traumatic experiences and in order to make her character grow and develop those experiences need to be addressed so I am all for this therapy thing; I just hope they are going to continue showing us the progress instead of just turning this into a one-time thing;
I actually liked that she reached out to Eda and asked her for help; while it might seem selfish I think it was clear that Aydan hesitated before calling Eda, she didn't want to trouble her, was embarrassed to ask for such a huge favour - that shows a sort of humility I hadn't detected in Aydan before;
☑️ overall mood and humour + I freaking loved that they addressed Serkan's OCD or maybe it's not really OCD, just a symmetry tick 🙈😆😂 we had snippets of it in other episodes and I have seen people wonder if that's Kerem's acting choice or something he himself does; now it's an official canonical part of Serkan's personality 😁🥳
And... that's pretty much it! Yay!

Note
Of all the stories writers could find, they chose amnesia. I think it's very silly to do this at the stage of the relationship where eda and serkan had just got back together and were ready to get married in episode 28. They could have let them get married show 2, 3 episodes with the newlyweds moving in together, we could have had a little glimpse of their new life together and then they could have done that. PART1
In this context I wouldn't have minded, then they could have made it last for 3 episodes and then show us their reunion with one of the most beautiful declarations of love. In the last episodes I just want to see edser happily married with their children. PART2
> Yeah I definitely would have preferred that to what we’re currently getting. In my opinion, having the couple get married during the show instead of in the finale is always the way to go, ama ne diyim, it is what it is.

BBC News
The UK economy failed to grow between July and September, figures show, after a succession of interest rate rises.
The chancellor said higher rates were hitting growth, but added that the economy had performed better than expected this year.
Forecasters suggest the economy is set to be stagnant for several months yet.
Last week, the Bank of England said the UK was likely to see zero growth until 2025, although it is expected to avoid a recession.
Up until September, the Bank of England had raised interest rates 14 times in a row to try to tame soaring price rises.
However, while raising rates can reduce inflation – the pace at which prices rise – it also affects economic growth by making it more expensive for consumers and businesses to borrow money.
Interest rates are at a 15-year high of 5.25%, and are expected to remain high for some time. Bank governor Andrew Bailey said last week it was “much too early” to be considering rate cuts.
Paul Dales, the chief UK economist at Capital Economics, said the latest data suggested “the drag from higher interest rates is growing”, but he does not expect the Bank to start cutting rates until late next year.
What is GDP and how does it affect me?
Bank warns it’s too early to cut interest rates
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said the latest growth figures showed a subdued picture across all sectors of the economy.
The services sector saw a small decline over the three-month period, while manufacturing and the construction sector recorded marginal growth.
The Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, told the BBC: “Naturally interest rates do have an impact and the judgement of the Treasury is that the main reason growth has slowed is because of that.
“What is perhaps a surprise to many people is that the economy has been much stronger than people thought,” he said.
“Most people thought it was going to contract this year. It’s actually grown, and that gives us an excellent foundation for the future.”
Asked if he would be looking to reduce taxes in the Autumn Statement on 22 November, Mr Hunt said he wanted to bring the tax burden down, but that business tax cuts would take priority over personal taxes. “I’ve always been clear that low taxes are part of a dynamic, successful, entrepreneurial economy, but what I’ve said is my priority is growth, so cutting business taxes is the most important thing at this stage,” he said.
Labour’s shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves said the latest figures were “further evidence that the economy is not working”, while Liberal Democrat Treasury spokesperson Sarah Olney said the Conservatives had “delivered a hammer blow to our economy leading us down a no-growth path”.
Although the rate rises from the Bank are flattening growth, the government may feel a small amount of relief that the risk of a formal technical recession – defined as two consecutive three-month periods of the economy shrinking – has been lowered.
But Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s vow to “grow the economy” is very much in the balance. Even between July and September, there was a tiny contraction in the economy, though it rounded down to 0.0%.
The growth forecast for the final three months of the year is between 0% and 0.1%, in line with other major European countries, which are also weighed down by rising rates.
The Bank of England may feel that it has started to engineer a softish landing from last year’s excessive inflation.
The government too will point to next week’s likely significant fall in the headline rate of inflation, when the figure is forecast to slow from 6.7% to around 4.8% for October.
It may declare victory on that target on Wednesday, even as its growth target is now under question.
This may change the backdrop to the Autumn Statement later this month and, if it continues, for the general election too as it challenges the clear desire of Downing Street to paint a “turnaround” picture.
As the inflation problem eases, the growth problem could become more prominent.
Dominic Boon, finance director of gift supplier Fizz Creations in Lancing, West Sussex, says it has been a particularly tough year.
The company is coming into the key Christmas period where it makes the most of its money, and Mr Boon has noticed consumer confidence dropping.
“People are struggling with interest rates on their mortgages, on their cars, the cost of living, heating, gas, electricity. Everything is costing more – they have less money in their pockets.”
Down the road is Lucy Lago, who runs her cafe inside Lancing Business Park. “I see people have definitely stopped eating breakfast,” she says, “and their spend per head is obviously going slightly lower. People are being very careful what they buy.”
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures show the health of the UK economy. It is a measure – or an attempt to measure – all the activity of companies, governments and individuals in a country.
If the figure is increasing, it means the economy is growing and people are doing more work and usually getting a little bit richer, on average. But if GDP is falling then the economy is shrinking, which can be bad news for businesses.
The zero growth in GDP in the July-to-September period follows 0.2% expansion in the previous three months.
The ONS data also showed the economy grew by 0.2% in September alone compared with the previous month, which was stronger than expected.
Darren Morgan of the ONS told the BBC’s Today programme that while the latest data showed a “very flat picture” overall, there were signs of improvement.
“For example, more than half of businesses were not considering raising their prices in November 2023 – that’s the highest proportion of businesses to tell us this since we first introduced that question in April 2022,” he said.
Six expert tips for finding work
1. Search beyond a 40-mile radius – Remote, hybrid and flexible working open up opportunities further away.
2. Use key words in your searches – Online algorithms will pick up on daily searches and send you more of the same.
3.Don’t wait for a job to be advertised – Contact a manager at a business that you like the look of as you never know what opportunities might be coming up.
4. Sell your skills – Use social media sites like Linkedin which showcase your skills and experience. Other platforms like Twitter and Instagram can prove useful when touting yourself out to potential employers as well.
5. Get learning – While you’re on the hunt for a job see if there are way to fill gaps in your CV with free courses, volunteering or shadowing.
6. Celebrate the small wins – set personal targets, like a tracker of the number of jobs to apply for in a week or a certain number of cold emails and acknowledge the little wins along the way to keep your spirits up.

Your top 5 edser moments, please :)
Okay, ask me tomorrow and they might be different, in no particular order:
Tumblr media
Paparazzi - Episode 5 - This is probably my most rewatched episode, and I LOVE everything from the moment he catches her hand as she’s headed for the paps to them cruising into the sunset. First, superficially, they are both HOT AF in this scene. Hande is always one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen, but in this getup she outdid herself. No wonder Serkan got distracted earlier and told her how beautiful she was... twice. Also it’s nice that the show was able to use the fact that Kerem can bench press a car (probably) and show that off all Officer-and-a-Gentleman style. Nothing wrong with a man effortlessly whisking his lady off her feet. Now why does Serkan decide to carry her? Besides the fact that he’s extra af? Who knows? And who cares because it’s très romantique! (Actually I headcanon the path was going to end and he picked her up because she wouldn’t have been able to walk in the sand with those heels.)
Besides the hilariously over-the-top aesthetics, what I love about this scene is the heartfelt emotions that led to the sacrifices they each made for the other. She was going to throw herself to the wolves and ruin her own reputation to save his and he left the podium while accepting an award and skipped out on the big contract signing to save her. Both put the other first and it was lovely.
Tumblr media
Pool - Episode 4 - I talked about this scene recently, but I just love it so much I have to include it. There is just something so balls-to-the-wall about the way she casually hops in the pool in her gorgeous dress the second he warns her to stay away from it; and the way he, without thinking, just takes a flying leap to save her. The fact that he doesn’t even hesitate, even though it means he’s going to miss the flight/meeting, gives me butterflies.
Then once he’s “rescued” her, she just drops it that of course she can swim, why would she jump in the pool if she couldn’t swim!?!  And the way that neither of them notice that they have the full conversation with him still holding her in his arms. Yeah, they’re both right where they want to be. And the scene just gets funnier from there as they both try to cover when their guests arrive, delightful. The whole scene is funny, romantic, and satisfying.
Tumblr media
Drunk Serkan - Episode 19 -  Every second of Drunk!Serkan on screen was gold. GOLD. From the unrelentingly firm but polite way he kicked Selin the eFF out of his house, to his little "you knock on my door” joke, to the cheesy grin he gave her when he said her name, to the way he confessed that she was the most precious thing in the world to him, this scene had it all. A barrel of laughs, a dash of angst, and more than enough romance and sexual tension. Plus how often do you get to see your broken-up favs get all touchy feely in a shower together? A treasure of a sequence!
Tumblr media
Date NIght - Episode 12 - This entire scene was the pinnacle of happy Edser, and I love every bit of it. The inefficient way they tried to chop the vegetables for the salad together was sweet and endearing. While the way they confessed their feelings for each other was uniquely them. Our feelings are mutual, indeed. Then... then... he has to go and name a star after her? Such a thoughtful and heartfelt gift based on her name and the time they’d spend together stargazing, because back then he didn’t even know that her father had made a promise about stars. Gah!
They were just enthralled with each other the entire night. I’m not sure anyone knew what to expect of in-love Serkan, but he exceeded all my expectations and this scene was the height of the adooring, schmoopy, romantic robot. The entire scene is just sweetness overload, without ever becoming saccharine. Amazing.
Tumblr media
Sunset Declaration - Episode 11 - After 20+ hours of buildup, this had to be big and the show didn’t disappoint. First they had him chase down her taxi on the road like a madman, it was frantic and emotionally-charged, and was just so right for this larger-than-life pair. And how fortunate that the taxi stopped at this lovely ocean overlook right at sunset! The setting was top notch and I can’t imagine how the actors and crew probably had to wait around for the sun to be in the exact right spot. I loved that they argued, because that’s what they were doing when they fell in love, arguing! Everything from the “Gitme” to the “I’ve fallen madly in love with you” was perfect.
It’s also worth noting how satisfying it was that when he finally admitted his feelings he was all-in. The way he went from still being in denial earlier in the episode to “Wait two months and I’ll uproot my entire life and go to Italy with you” was head-spinning, but actually believable for the character. Serkan Bolat doesn’t do anything halfway, if he’s in, he’s all-in. I love that about him, and I love that Eda was ready and willing to take that ride with him.

Merhaba friends - SCK episode 35 asks
(Fragman 36 ask at the end)
Apologies to those of you who sent asks for last week’s episode and I didn’t answer them. The week got away from me and then suddenly it was show day, the episode aired, and the asks were no longer relevant. Even if I didn’t answer I appreciate you reaching out!
Anonymous said: I’m dying to know what you thought.
While my ego would like to think that there are a variety of subjects that people might seek out my thoughts on, I’m going to guess you want to know what I thought of episode 35.
I had a mixed reaction. I liked a lot of things, loved a lot of things, there were some things I found disappointing, and a few characters I wanted to strangle. So let’s explore from that perspective.
Liked:
Romcom feel was back. It felt lighter and was easier to watch than a lot of eps in this arc.
Aydan, Ayfer and Seyfi working together to unite the kids. They were actually funny and trying to do the right thing, even if their methods were a bit morally gray.
Serkan and Eda’s photo on outdoor advertising and on the cover of magazines. We’ll ignore how quick the turnaround was to get those photos up, it was just plain fun to watch Serkan see himself on his drive into work and be embarrassed and aggravated by the whole thing, while there was also a little spark of excitement from him in being linked to Eda like that. That was enjoyable.
Melo is always the best bestie and Ayfer didn’t suck as an aunt!
LOVED:
Most every individual Edser scene.
Serkan out-of-his head with worry, planning to jump into the frigid sea, even though he wouldn’t have any shot of saving her that way. That’s my ride-or-die, protective romantic robot!
Serkan making faces as Eda plans her wedding. Excellent work from Kerem here.
Eda buttoning up Serkan’s shirt. That was hot. It was also hot that he just let her.
Sekan buttoning up Eda’s dress (get a room kids and start going the other way... unbuttoning, UNBUTTON) This scene was emotional and the sexual tension!
Serkan clutching his chest. The poor boy was about to have a panic attack right there. Follow through, writers, give him the full fledged panic attack!
The hair caught in the button (There’s that button again!) sequence. it was funny and sexy and made Selin into a foolish, immature third wheel. I’m all for it.
Serkan apologizing to Eda for Selin, that was big because up til now he hasn’t really recognized how awful Selin is in most situations. He has blinders when it comes to her, mostly because he doesn’t pay attention, so it was satisfying to see him acknowledge her bad behavior.
EVERY MOMENT AT THE BOLAT HOUSE. That was a great sequence, and IMO we mostly have Hande and Kerem to thank for it and not the writers. They brought it to life and obviously a lot of it was on them to just figure out what to do in the scene.  I loved that Serkan saw Eda amongst the flowers in that painting. Swoon!  their conversation about how they were both hungry was hilarious. Every moment with them fixing the sandwiches was gold and then it just got better from there. With him being willing to share food, to the throwback “mesala” conversation to her listening to his heart. All so... so... good.
However, while we definitely deserved those nice, long, funny, heartwarming scenes, I must say the writers didn’t use them to their fullest potential. How did the night end? How did they part? Why was no progress made after spending the night that way?  If the writers were even half decent at their job they would have had Serkan confess some feelings while high, but not remember in the morning thus giving us the parallel with episode 11 when he was sick. Eda would have felt defeated when he didn’t remember, again, and it would have made more sense why she thought the fake wedding was her last shot at getting through to him.
Characters I’m mad at:
Ceren knows the whole episode that Deniz loves Eda, she knows he’s being weird about it, she makes up with Eda, and stills says nothing? WTF?
Engin makes it to the wedding, he knows Serkan has his memories back and he doesn’t stop the wedding to let Eda know before she says yes? WTF?
Ferit allegedly has the photos and he thinks the wedding is real, but he doesn’t show Eda the photos so she has a better idea of what she’s getting into? WTF?      (though through that whole Ferit/Selin scene I wondered if Ferit was just playing along with Selin, trying to get info out of her and he’s not really the one who has the photos. Time will tell. )
Selin/Deniz- Obvious, psychos, I need them freaking gone. How Deniz can claim to love Eda, but sit there and watch her look devastated and cry her eyes out at the thought of fake marrying him, while knowing he’s about to pull a disgusting trick is unfathomable. He needs to be committed.
Disappointing:
To be clear, I no longer care, but I can’t believe how badly they flubbed this storyline. That? That was the payoff for the hell we’ve been put through for 7 weeks? Wow talk about not worth it and anti-climactic. I’m not going to go on about all the ways they failed, but I could.
While I fully believe that Serkan fell back in love with Eda before he got his memories back (see this post) he should have confessed to Eda before he got them back. That was the whole point of this entire storyline and they carried that the entire time, but then fumbled the ball at the 1 yard line. Good grief, these writers are bad.
Serkan gets his memories back, he knows time is of the essence, and he still is torn and has to think about it? WHAT? Just no. Ridiculous. I realize they did it for maximum suspense, but they shouldn’t have. They really shouldn’t have.
That was their reunion after all we’ve been through? Come on, writers, step it up. I realize we no longer have the writers that gave us his love declaration in 11 or Eda’s and Serkan’s proposals, or their make up scene in 28 or their goodbye scene in 28, but this was lackluster.
So, in summation, there was a lot that I really enjoyed, I thought the episode flowed better than some of the others in this arc, and lots of great individual Edser moments, it’s just the way they flubbed the whole storyline. I’m just so glad the amnesia is over, that thankfully I don't really care.
Anonymous said: when pushed by engin and aydan multiple times in the episode he never denies he ISN'T in love with her and rather skirts around the issue and deflects with "she's marrying deniz!" which should be proof enough he fell in love with her especially considering in 29 he was telling eda that "there was no such thing as love" between them. it was almost reminiscent of eda in 10/11 where she doesn't tell him her feelings bc she believes he wants selin, this time in reverse bc he believes she's moved on.
This came in response to this ask, and yes I agree. I should have hit that point harder, that Engin and Aydan ask him and he never denies it. When this arc started he would have denied it in a flat second.
He fell in love with her again, full stop. It’s just a shame that they didn’t make it the entire crux of his love confession, we deserved to see that. Just one of the many ways the writers dropped the ball with this storyline.
Anonymous said: The whiplash we got going from 26-28 to the drag of 29-35 though. 🤦🏼‍♀️ and you really could cut out that entire storyline and you wouldn’t be missing anything because really nothing happened. They didn’t even have Serkan stopping Eda before he got his memories back to fulfill a basic assumed foreshadowing. Like....huh?
I don’t want to be negative, but it’s crazy to me that they sped through wedding prep at a lightning pace and then went through this painful amnesia storyline at a snail’s pace. They should have had at least 5 episodes of wedding prep, doing just one pre-wedding activity per episode, but kept Babaanne around to create the drama. I wanted at least one episode of them back together, but keeping it secret so they could work against her. We were robbed of that!
Anonymous said: I know we’ve been hating a lot on the new writers but the showrunner still has to sign off on these scenes right? And it’s been the same one this whole time. What has she been thinking? Maybe the writers didn’t do their homework but surely she can tell that scenes being very out of character wouldn’t make sense?
Bold of you to assume there’s a showrunner as we know them on a Hollywood show. I assume you’re talking about Asena, but I always think of her more of a cross between an EP and a network exec. A bit more removed than a showrunner.  I have no idea who the guiding light of this show is since Ayse left. The production timelines are so tight, I don’t think there’s time to review scripts and reject them. Sometime I think it’s a wonder anything makes sense at all.
Anonymous said: I see you've giffed some of the edser "questionable positions" bookshelf scene. (Awesome gifs btw). Honestly, that entire scene was really funny, with the rest of the art life crew jumping in. Even Selin made me laugh when she came in there and said "how did her hair get stuck?!" and Serkan very sarcastically replied with something like "I wound it up in there, what do you think??" Not to mention all the very close face talking that was going on!
Great scene! Here’s the gif set you’re referring to.  I suppose the writers proved they could do fun, and romantically comedic scenes if they want to. More like this, please.

With these past 5 (?) episodes with these last set of writers, I truly believe that they did not go back to watch SCK at all before writing. Any past references were probably given to them on a checklist or something. Like I don't know if they even watched episode 28 with how they ended up doing away with the memory loss. Its kind of astounding how much they dropped the ball. Hopefully the rumors of new writers are true and they get enough episodes to give us a good ending to this story!
This came in right after the episode, but unfortunately, we learned today that we are apparently not getting new writers, at least not for episode 36.I was fully convinced we were since Sefkat (the production company twitter admin) liked Yasin’s post when he said we’d be getting all new writers for 36. Normally I don’t believe anything Yasin says because he has lied so many times that any info he actually has just comes across as a clock being right twice a day.  However, when she liked it, I found that convincing.  Also the way they cancelled shooting on Saturday and H/K were in for a meeting on Friday. Seemed like it was all adding up. We’ll see, maybe there will be new ones for 37??
As for not watching what came before, it certainly feels like they only skimmed and watched certain scenes and didn’t do a deep dive on the series. Watching all the eps in full should be a requirement before they start the job. I always feel they are  just off with Serkan’s characterization, they don’t quite get him and they turn him a bit into a cardboard cutout of early Serkan. It’s like the character sketch outline of Serkan, but with no depth.
Anonymous said: When I saw the character description of the new cast member added to the show I was like "great, another possible screen space filler in regards to Aydan" but after watching the episode, I was actually really intrigued by his character. I know there's a bunch of theories out there that Serkan is actually his son, which I don't really buy into right now, but nevertheless he was a real potential to be a father figure in Serkan's life... and maybe the only guest character to not be a villain lol.
I’ll tell you this, that casting makes it seem like they at least want us to think he’s Serkan’s father.  He’s way better looking that Alptekin and he just looks like he could genetically be responsible for the magnificence that is Serkan.
We’ll see what they do. I think it could be interesting, just because until Serkan met Eda he was so invested in being “Serkan Bolat” that having his identity shaken like this would be seismic for him. It could create some really good drama for him in all his relationships without tearing apart Edser. Also, if Alptekin knew it would go along way in explaining that relationship. Alptekin always demanding perfection and the cold way he sent him away to boarding school. It would explain why he could never earn his father’s love or approval, and that knowledge might give him some peace.
In addition, and a big plus, it would mean that his biological father was NOT responsible for the deaths of Eda’s parents.
Anonymous said: 1/ everyone for weeks was waxing poetic and had super detailed headcannons of how serkan would remember in really specific ways when he realized he was in love, something that ayfer kinda poked fun of at the beginning of the ep talking about the fake wedding, but i was genuinely laughing out loud at serkan and engin accidently getting into a fight and him yelling throughout it that he remembers and engin pushing him in front going "can you give him one good hit?!" lmaoo
2/ getting a good hit to the end to unscramble your brain that is already giving you flashbacks is more actually more realistic than the usual fairytale way.. sure, less romantic, but definitely more realistic. the man was already in love with her, super confused on what to do since he genuinely thought she was marrying deniz, and was already having flashes, all he really needed was good hit in the head lol. maybe eda should've kept going when they were boxing 😂
I like your take on it.
Anonymous said: i think they saw the fandom complaining week after week that there was too much heaviness/drama in their romcom and said "so you guys want romcom? here i'll give you full on romcom" which is what i thought this episode was! and i really appreciated such a fun ep overall to watch to bring this otherwise really sad and emotion heavy memory loss plot to an end.
Yes, the episode was a lot more fun than most that had come before it. If only they could have tied it all together.
Anonymous said: Something that just occurred to me that's so crazy in addition to wrapping an episode days before it airs, is that in Turkish television, a series has like 1 permanent director and a small writing team that writes ALL of the episodes. In US TV, that's pretty much unheard of - different writers rotate owning each episode and the same director will shoot maybe 2-3 episodes at most a season. The production turnaround time is so short that it's insane that we don't hear of more last-minute delays
I know, I think about this all the time. It’s crazy to me that there’s only one director. Which is why there’s not a lot of added layers to this show.  When a director just has one episode on their plate and they spend a couple of weeks prepping to direct, every shot, every angle, every bit of set dressing can be meaningful. This show doesn’t have that kind of visual depth.  On the other hand you do get a director that knows the actors and crew inside and out and they all have a short hand which allows them to get to what they want faster and easier. That can’t be replicated with directors who come in for one episode.
Anonymous said: Over the past month or so, I’ve been seeing so many people cancel Serkan and wanting Eda to leave him forever and move away, but she really never gave up on him and she might finally get him back this week 😭 in fact, Eda and Melo are the only people we’ve seen who have tried to help get his memories back! Everyone who has been friendly to Selin can disinvite themselves to the Edser wedding
I’m glad I didn’t see a bunch of this nonsense myself.  But, honestly, anyone who wants Eda to leave and not end up with Serkan... why are they watching this show to begin with? Did they take a wrong turn somewhere? How did they last this long watching it? We’re 35 episode in and this entire show is their love story, beyond that story and it being a vehicle to showcase Hande and Kerem’s awesome chemistry, it really doesn’t offer many other reasons to watch.
And yes to jettisoning anyone who was friendly with Selin. PIRIL I’M LOOKING AT YOU. I sure hope Piril finds out exactly how low Selin will sink. She needs to feel ashamed for welcoming her back without question.
Anonymous said: That fragman for ep 36...part of me wants to hope that it will all be solved pretty soon, since we got edser separated for so long we deserved them together now. But part of me also knows these writers suck so I’m expecting the worst. I just wanted edser together again 😭
I know. When I saw the full fragman my initial reaction was to yell “WHY CAN’T WE HAVE NICE THINGS!!!!!!!”  But I’ve calmed down now.
It seems to me that we have Serkan and Eda together and working together to figure this mess out, which is good. we have romantic walks on the pier, and Eda spending the night at his place and a sweet breakfast setting with Eda in jammies. All good.
But then we also have Selin and Deniz refusing to quit.  Selin comes up with the plan that if Deniz doesn’t sign the papers in time, then they will have to get a divorce which means Eda can’t marry for 300 days. So then, what? Deniz steals Serkan’s car and goes on the run?
What they hope to accomplish with this, I don’t know. Because even if they succeed and Serkan and Eda can’t get married right away, it’s not like they’ll just magically decide that they want to be with those two psychos instead.  I can see Selin doing it just for revenge so she can make them miserable, but what’s Deniz’ motivation? The further psycho he goes, the worse Eda will think of him. Bizarre.
As for the pregnancy thing. It sounds like Eda must hear that from someone. My money is on Deniz. That’s his Hail Mary to try and drive a wedge between Serkan and Eda. Because seemingly when Eda brings it up, Selin asks where did you hear that. Also, phew, Eda says right away that if its true that Sekan deserves to know, which hopefully will clear things up (because the writers showed us over and over and over again that they weren’t sleeping in the same bed) and it will show Serkan just what kind of crazy he’s dealing with.
Anonymous said: I was pretty excited after watching the fragman, but surprised when I went on twitter and saw that almost everyone was really upset by it. I’m sure most people know Selin isn’t actually pregnant, but they all still somehow hate the storyline (possibly bc they think it’ll drive edser apart?) idk am I crazy for thinking that we’ll still get good edser moments and them staying together and fighting together? I guess the show needs drama to continue but I’m not mad because I think good edser will outweigh bad/miscommunication edser.
I’m sure we’ll get good Edser moments, but I can’t really fault anyone for being extremely annoyed by this fragman. I think this little plot point will end up not being a big deal at all, however, I can see how it feels like a kick in the face after what we’ve been through the last 7 episodes. It’s like can we get one happy episode? Just one?
Also it’s just very uncomfortable. I’m in the camp that currently thinks it’s impossible for her to be pregnant because they haven’t slept together. He was too fragile and injured before they came back to Istanbul (sleeping on the couch with his PTSD) and after he was too confused and consumed by Eda and just uninterested in Selin. I have to believe they kept showing us them not spending the night in the same place for a reason.
However, if they were to have had sex, it’s very unsettling because it’s a little too close to him not being able to give consent. It’s Rape by Deception. He had a brain injury, amnesia, was suffering a myriad of traumas and was not in his right mind. He did not have the full set of facts on where their relationship stood, but she did (she knew he wanted nothing to do with her and told her he never loved her and didn’t even want to be friends) and instead of being honest she abused him. She lied to him. She didn’t tell him the truth about what had happened. She isolated him from anyone who could tell him the truth and manipulated him into thinking that she was the only person in the world he could trust and the person he loved and trusted most was untrustworthy and an enemy.
However, as the audience we know the things she’d done in the past to abuse his trust, and we know for certain if he remembered, he would never consent to sleep with her. Never. So even beyond the cheating and the romance it would rob us of if they did have sex, it’s ICKY and GROSS and none of us want to even think of it.  I don’t expect TV writers in Turkey to be on the forefront of thought when it comes to issues of consent, so I’d rather this door just not be opened at all.
But here we are, they opened it. Now all we can do it hope that it is a device to hear Serkan say that it isn’t impossible and for Selin to be fully exposed as completely unbalanced and a lying, manipulator.
Anonymous said: the fandom by use of sheer will forced this selin plot line into existence LOL. i swear since the beginning of the memory plot in 29, the "selin will lie to eda she's pregnant" rumor has been constantly making rounds, and i guess it's time to cash in. i will say that i've seen ppl thinking know that somehow serkan and her were intimate even though she's clearly lying.. guys, if there was even a POSSIBILITY she would've used this way back before now and would have told everyone, including serkan.
I agree with this. If this was a card she could play with Serkan, she’d play it. She’s been getting more and more desperate. And in the fragman there she is coming up with ways for Deniz to run away so he can’t sign the papers. If there was something she could hold over Serkan, she would, She’s not because then the con would be up, we’ll just have to wait and see how big of a lie she’s willing to tell.
Anonymous said: I wonder if Selin was a spy when she was younger! That woman is always watching everything from her car! Even in the new trailer.
Ha! Let’s hope that in the end she’s not a very good spy and they finally get one over on her. Oh please oh please oh please let the stable boy be the one who has the photos and let him have more on her. I want there to be tons of photos of her in her car spying on them. That would be so humiliating for her.
Seriously, though, who knows what happened to Selin to make her the way she is. Frankly, I don’t think my assessment of her has really changed (most of my old posts on her are tagged with “anti Selin”) She’s just a spoiled, selfish, entitled brat who thinks she should get anything and everything she wants. If she wants Serkan, she should have him, doesn’t matter what he wants or who she hurts, she’ll do whatever she has to do to make that happen. She was probably never told no as a child. So when she’s thwarted she thinks she’s entitled to whatever reaction she wants to have, if that’s ruining other people’s lives, so be it.  No one can be happy if she’s not.
