❛ if you die, i'll kill you. ❜“i cant live without you” “don’t die on me, we haven’t even gotten to the good part yet” “i lied i never hated you”
eddie x reader enemies to lovers 🥹🥹
pls enjoy this absolute heartache of a fic :D — you and eddie hate each other until he almost dies (angst, enemies to lovers, cw for mentions of gore, 1.1k)
“Wanna make out?” Eddie had asked you, some hours ago now, when you first arrived at the Upside Down version of Skull Rock. You’d just narrowly survived a gang of demobats, and the stale air smelled distinctly of copper pennies. He managed a smug smile anyway. “I mean, we might as well. Looks like we’re gonna die out here, anyway.”
You scoffed and rolled your tired eyes. The annoyance you felt for him then momentarily distracted you from the fear swirling in the pit of your stomach. “I’d rather,” you’d quipped.
You feel a little like you’ve prophesized something now.
Eddie bleeds out in your arms with a hundred little bites on his stomach that were supposed to be yours. He’d distracted the circling demobats when you twisted your ankle, too hurt to run away. And now he’s dying. And it’s all your goddamn fault.
You sit with him while Dustin rushes into the Creel House, in search of help from the older crew. You watch him attentively over your shoulder until he disappears behind the rotted front door. When you turn back to Eddie, you find his eyes have fluttered shut.
“Eddie—” you call for him, clearing your throat when it comes out garbled. “Eddie! Hey!”
“Hm…” he hums tiredly in response, eyes still shut.
You sigh with the subtle relief that he’s not dead. The breath catches in your chest. You try to fight away the panic attack clawing behind your ribcage, even though it makes everything around you seem more and more distant. You try to stay as present as you can despite the horrors swimming all around you — for Eddie The Freak Munson.
“You have to stay awake,” you tell him, voice thick with emotion. “Open your eyes.”
“I’m just… I feel a little tired right now,” he mumbles, slurring slightly.
Your chest wrenches. He’s getting paler and paler by the minute. The tourniquet you made from the bottom half of your shirt is now soaked with deep red blood. Panic burns a wildfire in your chest because you’ve done everything you could think to do.
You can’t lose him. That’s all you’re telling yourself now. You can’t lose him, you can’t lose him, you can’t lose him.
“I don’t care. Keep your eyes open, alright?”  Your heart wrenches again, with something short of hope this time, when Eddie’s eyes flutter open. They’re glassy and dilated, but the deep chocolate of them hasn’t changed. You muster a small smile. “There you go, Eds. There you go— Now, just keep talking to me, okay? Keep talking.”
“I’m tired,” he mutters under his breath, too weak to do anything more.
Your face screws together as you choke back a sob. You swallow down every instinct to cry. You’ll cry when this is over, you tell yourself, when Eddie’s safe and back in Hawkins.
“I know, Eddie. I know,” you babble through stinging tears. “But you gotta— you gotta keep talking, alright? It’ll help you stay awake. And I need you to… I need you to stay awake for me, okay?”
He nods. At least, you think he’s nodding, because the movement is terribly faint.
His eyes fall shut again. You feel the loss of his melted chocolate gaze like a stab in the chest. Your hand grips his jaw, a little less than gentle.
“Eddie,” you bite through gritted teeth.
“Mm…”
“If you die, I swear to god, I will fucking kill you.”
The familiarity of your aggression reminds him of home. He opens his eyes and cracks a small, barely-there smile. Blood glistens on his mouth. “I thought you hated me?” he slurs in an inaudible mumble.
“I do,” you tell him without thinking twice, laughing through the sob in your throat. “But I’ll love the shit outta you if we make it out of here together.”
Together, you say, because either both of you make it out or neither of you do.
His grin widens softly, chapped and lopsided. “Metal,” he murmurs.
A whimper sounds in your throat when his eyes flutter shut again. “Eddie…”
“‘M sorry, sweetheart,” he whispers, breathing sharply through his nose.
It’s getting harder and harder for him to breathe. You can tell by the harsh rise and fall of his chest. There’s little oxygen getting to his brain, accompanied by the weeping bites on his stomach— where the fuck is Dustin Henderson?
“I don’t know if I…. If I’m gonna make it outta here, babe…”
Your chest tightens. He only ever called you babe to piss you off. You wonder if he’s still being the annoying asshole you knew back home or if the term of endearment is too engrained in his head.
“Don’t say that.”
“If I don’t—”
“Eddie.”
“If I don’t make it out,” he repeats, sterner this time. He drags a sharp breath in and opens his eyes, just barely. “I want you to know that I never… I never hated you… ‘M just a liar… And a total fucking coward…”
“You can make it up to me when we get back home, okay? You just gotta stay awake.”
His lip quirks into a faint, crooked smile. “I’ve been dyin’ to kiss you since ninth grade… Did you know that?”
“I know,” you nod with an emotional laugh.
“I did make it kinda obvious, didn’t I?”
“You can kiss me when you get better. I swear.”
Eddie nods. You feel him grow heavier and heavier in your arms. His smug smile starts to fade, and you panic. “Eddie? Eddie, don’t— don’t die on me, okay? Please. We haven’t— We haven’t gotten to the good part yet, asshole. You have to stay awake.”
You shift him in your arms, trying to sit him up more when he slumps. He does little to fight you. He doesn’t have the strength to anymore.
“‘M sorry, babe,” you hear him whisper.
“No— No, don’t— Don’t fucking say that,” you scold bitterly, less angry at him and more at the rest of the world. It should’ve been you lying here, after all, not him. You’d trade places in a heartbeat if you could. “You can’t die, you asshole! How am I supposed to— fucking— keep going without you annoying the living shit outta me?”
“Henderson’ll annoy you for the both of us,” he manages to joke as life spills from the weeping wounds on his stomach.
“Fuck that. It’s not the same— I need you, Eddie. I need you, okay? I can’t— I can’t fucking live without you,” you cry over his pale, bloodied body.
You hear yelling and a set of rushed footsteps. “Eddie!” Dustin calls as he dashes down the decrepit porch steps of the old home — with Steve, Nancy, and Robin following close behind.
The sight of them makes you sigh. Your chest starts to sparkle with a hope you’d thought you lost — damn near aching when Eddie’s glassy eyes flutter open once more.
The fucker grins weakly up at you. “I knew you had a crush on me, babe.”

He's back
":":":":":":":":":":":":":":":":":"
Starring: vampire Eddie x grieving reader
Warnings: angst. Suicide mentions. Arguing. Crying. Reader panics. Mentions of hallucinations.
":":":":"":":":":":":":":":":":":"
You expected Eddie to stay dead. You know, because that's what dead people do. You had cornered Dustin and forced him to tell you everything when Eddie "went missing." So he did. And now your best friend is dead... or so you thought at least up until you woke up to him peering over you, fangs on full display.
"Miss me, sweetheart?" he says, brushing some hair from your tear streaked face. You pushed him away. "Stop it.. I don't need more stupid hallucinations to remind me you're dead.." you whispered as you turned away from him, tears glossing your eyes.
"Come on.. did you really think the world was gonna go on without Eddienoo?" He chuckled, smirking down at you.
"My world won't.. but you managed to make me believe that you were here last time.." you said, let out a soft sniffle and brushing away a tear. "So what's the difference this time?" Eddie asked as he leaned forward, tilting your chin up. "You feel my presence." As he leaned closer. His warm breath kissed your skin when he exhaled.
"Just means you're getting vivid.. or I'm going insane.. cause I damn right felt you last time, too.. You're dead, Eddie.. you're not real.." you whispered, only making yourself cry more.
"Yeah, well, I'm not dead, princess, and it's high time you realize that." Eddie paused for a moment as his thumb brushed away your tears. His fingers tightened around your chin. "I was dead, but I came back. That's the difference, so why don't you quit crying before I give you something to really cry about?"
You sat back against the headboard. "First of all.. dead people stay dead.. second of all.. my Eddie wouldn't talk to me like that in a million years.." You sniffed. "Well, maybe it's time you realized just how much has changed for me while I was gone. Because yeah, old Eddie would never have spoken to you like that, but I'm not him anymore. I'm a vampire now. And guess what? Vampires are assholes, sweetheart."
You felt your heart break at that. "Then I don't want you here.." you said, tears blinding your vision. "I want the Eddie who takes care of me and makes sure I- I get up in the morning.. or that I'm eating enough.." you said, letting the tears stream. The way you spoke hurt him. But he tried to hold it in, he really did. A slight frown creased his face when he saw that you were getting upset again.
"Well, he's gone, princess. And so is this new version of me that you didn't even give a chance." He turned, hands placed on the sides of the bed. "I didn't come into this life to please you."
Your lips quivered as you tried to speak. "Then you're not the sweet man I secretly fell in love with and tried to kill myself for.." you whispered, your voice cracking as you spoke. His hands clenched into fists. The veins in his arms stood out more prominently against his skin than before. The words you spoke triggered something in him.
He turned to face you, standing over the bed with his hands pressed down on the mattress. "What was that?" he asked with a low growl. "Since you're not.. not my Eddie.. then you're not the man I loved and tried to take my own life for because I found out he died.." you repeated. Something about the way you said that made his blood run hot, his eyes turning nearly black with a simmering rage.
He leaned forward, hands coming down to grab your shoulders. "Do you have any idea how angry it makes me that you would even dare to think you should end it?" He got close, his voice laced with pure anger. "How angry would you be if I said I tried?" You asked, tears blocking your vision once more.
He wanted to scream at you. He wanted to yell at you and tell you how stupid and selfish that was. But he felt a slight twinge at the back of his mind. You were suffering. And maybe it really was because of him.
Eddie loosened his grip but let his hands slowly and softly cup your cheeks. For the first time in a while, his eyes were filled with pure concern. "You what?" You sighed. "I've tried.. I- I've really tried, okay? But every single time, a stupid hallucination of you shows up, telling me that I shouldn't do it and that you'd want me to fucking live.. but I wanted you to live with me.. and I didn't get that.." you said.
At first, he was going to deny that you weren't crazy, but he kept catching himself wanting to let his guard down. Your words of having made multiple attempts sent him into a spiral of internal conflict.
He wanted to scream at you for even considering it. But he knew he shouldn't get mad that you did, especially with how devastated you were about his death.
Eddie stayed silent for a few moments, trying to get his thoughts in order. "You actually tried to go through with it? Multiple times?" You nodded. "Knives, ropes, you name it, I've tried it.." you whispered. His hands fell from your face and squeezed into fists. His anger was quickly replaced by hurt.
"You really didn't want to be here without me?" He looked away for a moment and let out a heavy exhale. "What made you think that I would want that?" You sighed. "I didn't care.. if you wouldn't stay to finish this stupid life with me, neither was I.." you said, another tear rolling down the damp skin of your cheek.
"You didn't care..." he repeated quietly as he stared down at you. For the first time in ages, his heart felt heavy once more, and it hurt him knowing exactly how much you were suffering.
Eddie leaned down and placed one of his hands on your cheek, his thumb gently stroking through your dampened tears. "You're hurting me."
You let out a soft exhale. "And you hurt me.." you said, looking him dead in the eyes as you spoke. "I never wanted to hurt you," he said as his thumb rubbed softly at a tear trail that led down your cheek. "And I don't want to now, but if I know I'm hurting you just being here, then I should just go, shouldn't I?"
Your eyes widened once more. Was he really just gonna leave you again? Your breathing quickened along with your heartbeat, panic flowing through your veins as you watched him stand up and take a step back. He looked away from you once more and stood straight, putting a few feet of distance between the two of you. And even though he wanted to turn and run, he knew he would only be hurting you even more if he did. He knew that he had to stand here and face you.
"I'm going to do the right thing and just leave," he began, his words were as if they were being forced out of him. You felt your body go numb. Not an ounce of control left as you sat there. Heartbeat at 186 and almost a matching breathing. Just watching him take more and more steps backward.
He saw the way you were reacting. He saw the way your body froze up, how your heart began to pump faster, and how you started to breathe erratically. But what really got to him was your wide, fearful eyes. Just at that moment, he could tell that your panic was escalating beyond words.
He paused for a moment, thinking about what he should do. But seeing the way you were reacting was breaking his heart. Your eyes were begging. Pleading. Knowing what you would just do to yourself if you let him leave once again. But you weren't in control right now. You couldn't stop him. Your body was betraying you, forcing you to let him take the decision without further discussion.
"Sweetheart, look at me," he quietly demanded, turning back to face you. But as he did, you could see how much it hurt him to see you like this, the way your eyes begged him to stay as if you could do nothing to stop him.
"I don't want to hurt you, so just answer me truthfully. Do you want me to stay?" His hand shook slightly as his arm fell to his side. You couldn't answer. Your body didn't let you speak. But you needed to. It was now or never, right? If you didn't answer, he'd just leave you again, right? Your body trembled as you tried to speak. But nothing came out.
You couldn't answer, and the uncertainty of the situation made his blood run cold. The way your body was shaking and the way your voice refused to come out meant that he had likely hit on what you wanted. But how much did you want it?
Eddie took a step closer to where you were sitting, leaning down by the bed's side and placing his hands on your shoulders. "I need an answer, sweetheart. Do you want me to stay here, or would you be better off with me gone?" A tear rolled down your cheek as you realized you wouldn't be able to answer. Not now. Not in a while. You begged that vampired could read minds. You begged for him to hear to words you were silently screaming.
He couldn't handle it.
The way you were shaking and the way your eyes were screaming at him. You couldn't answer because he'd broken that trust between you both in that moment when he was angry.
He pulled his hands away and leaned down so you could stare him directly in the eyes.
"I'm begging at this point, sweetheart. Please, look me in my eyes and tell me that you want me to stay..." Your eyes drifted to meet his. As you know that you wouldn't be able to speak or nod. You decided to try nodding with your eyes as it was your only source of movement. Eddie had a feeling that you wanted him to stay. But just in case, he took a moment to observe the way your eyes moved, seeing if your head would shake or if you'd try to find a way to say yes.
His eyes widened as the truth was confirmed.
"I'm going to ask you one last time, sweetheart," he murmured, his eyes locked on yours. "Do. You. Want. Me. To. Stay?" Your eyes frantically formed a nod. Begging him to stay with you. Pleading for him not to leave you again. For a moment, Eddie was completely speechless. He nearly fell to his knees with how relieved he felt. He had put everything on the line there. Just a few seconds ago, he was ready to turn around and leave forever.
But instead, he leaned down and wrapped his arms around you. Pulling you into a loving embrace, his head buried into your neck. Finally, you felt yourself slip back into control.
"Please,please,please,please,please,.." You repeated, begging as you clutched the material of his jacket in your hands. He rubbed your back in a soothing manner, still unable to believe that you had just done the one thing he needed to hear.
"I'm here, sweetheart. I'm not going anywhere." You wanted to be held like this, and he was certainly going to give it to you. He was going to give you everything you wanted, and he wouldn't stop until you were smiling again. You wrapped your legs around his waist, trying to be as close to him as possible as you sobbed against his shoulder, repeating words of begging into his ears over and over.
A rush of emotions hit him as you clung to him like you'd never let go again. The moment you wrapped your legs around him made his heart flutter. His eyes remained closed the entire time and he continued to rub your back.
He knew that this was the moment that would solidify your feelings for him. Now, there was nowhere to go but up.

fictober idea (if ure up for smut): eddie & reader go to a haunted house. eddie, obviously, gets a boner bc hes a weirdo. reader notices & begs to touch him right here, right now even tho theyve never done anything in public before. so, eddie finds a place to *kinda* hide & reader gets him off, but ofc, eddie cant let reader go without cumming as well.
thanks for requesting :D — eddie gets turned on protecting you at a haunted house, and you obv have to reward him for it (smut 18+, 1.5k)
fictober leftovers (㇏(•̀ᵥᵥ•́)ノ)
Eddie’s been called a freak his whole life. He knew he was different since he could understand what being different meant, and if that made him a weirdo, then so be it. But now he thinks everyone might’ve been right about him. He’s a complete, utter, and total freak.
He walks with you through a haunted house, surrounded by creepy masks and fake blood and your screams, and he’s hard. His dick’s as stiff as a rock and throbbing with a distant ache when most people are scared out of their minds.
It’s all your fault, honestly. You’re clinging to him with an ironclad grip and using him as a shield every time something jumps out at you. Eddie can’t even be scared with you because all he can think about is how masculine he feels protecting you like this. Metalhead freaks like him never get to feel this way — all manly and muscly and brave.
And even though it’s hard to walk while adjusting his pants every five steps, Eddie thinks he’s hiding it pretty well. Well, he was, anyway. Until your ass brushes against his lap, and you clock him immediately.
Trapped in a secluded area of the haunted house, lit up red and blaring the Halloween theme song, you spin around to face him. “Are you hard?” you ask him over the music, face twisted in confusion. You’re not weirded out by it exactly, just genuinely puzzled.
Eddie freezes, chocolate eyes wide. He plays coy despite being caught red-handed. “No.”
You shoot him a deadpanned look, brows raised as you peer at him through your lashes.
He caves. “…Yes.”
“Does scary shit turn you on?” you wonder, laughing softly.
“No!” he responds with a dramatic drawl, sounding more offended than he should be. He is standing rock-hard in the middle of a haunted house, after all. He shifts his weight on his feet and stammers for an answer. “I just… I like being able to protect you and… everything.”
“Aw…” you hum, melting into a puddle at his feet. “That’s kinda sweet, actually.”
Eddie’s visibly surprised by your response. He was prepared to get made fun of at best — slapped and dumped entirely at worst. But here you are, all but admiring how much of a freak your boyfriend is.
“Wait, really?”
You shrug. “Yeah. Especially considering last Halloween, the guy I was dating left me behind at a haunted house.”
“Pussy…” Eddie grumbles under his breath.
“Exactly,” you giggle. “So this is definitely an upgrade.”
Your palms smooth up his chest and over his shoulders. Your fingers entwine behind his neck, halfway embracing him in the middle of the haunt. His hands settle warm and wide on your sides. He squeezes you gently there and lets out a sigh of relief.
“I’m just glad you don’t think I’m a total freak,” he confesses with a forced chuckle.
“Oh, I definitely think you’re a freak,” you retort in a monotone, then flash him a sickly sweet smile. “I’m just too obsessed with you to care.”
Eddie nods and tries not to smile too wide when you lean in to kiss him. “Noted,” he murmurs.
You do a whole lot more than just kiss him, though. You open his mouth with your own and lick inside with a confident tongue. You take the breath from his lungs with little effort, leaving him more breathless than he has been all night.
“Wanna suck you off,” you murmur, slurred and muffled against his mouth.
He jerks away from you on instinct. He couldn’t hide his shock if he tried. “Huh?” he wonders in a tone that borders on cartoonish. His soft features twist in confusion.
“I need your cock in my mouth like I need to breathe,” you confess with an unabashed groan.
Maybe he wasn’t the freak after all. Maybe this whole time, it was you.
“Well, that’sa tad bit dramatic, but—” You cut off his teasing by fussing with the buckle of his belt. His eyes widen in shock, but he doesn’t try to stop you. “Whoa. Okay. This is… This is great and everything, babe, but there’s— there’s people around. Someone could walk in.”
You look to your left, then to your right. There’s no one here but you and Eddie in this small square room, filled with a fiery red like the warmth swirling in your belly. You blink at him with doe eyes and shrug innocently. “I don’t see anyone.”
Eddie breathes out a laugh, one mixed with amusement and disbelief. “I just don’t wanna us to get caught, babe,” he tells you, smoothing wide palms up and down your arms. “Don’t want you to get in trouble.”
“Do you want a blowjob or not?”
“Well, yeah, but I—”
“Good,” you hum with a smile before sinking to your knees in front of him.
Eddie’s too stunned to stop you. He doesn’t want to stop you.
Bathed in a sinful neon red, you unbutton his pants and free his half-hard cock from the confines of his jeans. You tug at the hem of his underwear until his heavy balls hang over the plaid fabric.
“Shit,” he mutters when you press a sweet kiss to his weeping tip. He bites back a moan when you swirl your tongue around the bulbous strawberry head. “Shit— you’re so fucking hot.”
You worship his cock like it’s not just some random Tuesday in the middle of a haunted house. You don’t mean to, really, but he’s making such pretty noises for you — little puffs of tiny breaths and small whines he tries desperately to hide from you.
His thighs twitch every time you run your tongue over the veins on the underside of him, going slow to feel the rapid pulse there. His fingers crawl in your hair, palms settling on your temples — not pushing you or pulling you away, just holding you as you suck gently at his aching cock.
His pink lips are parted, airing out little moans of ecstasy. His chocolate eyes are dark and glazed over in a honeyed look. His hair hangs over his face, wild and desperate to be pulled.
You let his tip linger in your mouth, drool pooling around him and soaking his twitching cock. The feeling makes him moan — a deep, hearty sound that stems from his chest.
When his lolling head drops back, you take him in your fist. You don’t bother to work him up to a rapid pace. Using the lubrication of your spit, you jerk him with an expert hand and lick away the pearly beads of pre-cum he leaks for you.
“Ah, shit,” he groans, eyes rolled back before he squeezes them shut. “Oh, fuck, babe—”
You’re already opening your mouth for his cum before he can warn you it’s coming. You know him too well. You notice all the telltale signs before you think he does — the whimpers, the shaking thighs, the rambled moans, the way his balls draw slightly upward. You’re ready to accept his warm, salty loads the second he gives them to you.
Eddie cups your warm cheek with a ringed hand. He tries to tell you he’s cumming, but his whines get in the way. He grunts quietly, tilting his head backward and holding tightly to you as cum pulses weakly from his slit.
The tang dribbles over your tongue and mouth. You take it all with ease. You make a big show of it, too — lolling your tongue out of your mouth and letting his cum drip onto the softening pudge of his head. Eddie’s whole body twitches when you take his sensitive cock in your mouth again to swallow it down, like a goddamn lightning strike up his spine.
“How’d I—” His voice is hoarse, so he has to stop and clear his throat. You smile, lips swollen and spit-slick, as you tuck his soft cock back into his jeans and button them again. His eyes are half-lidded and darkened when you rise to full height. “How’d I get so fucking lucky with you, huh?”
You make a vague I don’t know sound and shrug your shoulders with an innocent grin. You lean into his palm when he puts his ringed hands on your jaw.
“Jesus fucking christ— you’re so pretty, baby— fuck.”
He’s just rambling now, still a bit dazed from his orgasm. He kisses you harder than anyone’s ever been kissed before, stealing the air from your lungs with ease. It’s like he’s amazed by his own adoration for you — the sheer intensity of it — the way it makes him stupid enough to let you suck his cock in a poorly hidden spot of a haunted house.
You don’t get caught, though.
Not really, anyway.
There’s a security camera in front of the door you leave from. You make sure to give it a little wave on your way out.
Eddie holds your hand the entire way back to his van, opening the door for you like a total gentleman. It’s not the passenger side door, though, but rather the one in the very back.
“What are you doing?” you wonder, all innocent like you still don’t have the taste of his cum in your mouth.
Eddie just grins at you, lopsided and pink and boyish. “Gotta return the favor, don’t I?”

~
coming back to hawkins after graduation had never been in your master plan, you had vowed that once you hit the city limits that evening after saying goodbye to your parents, you would never look back. after enduring years of ridicule from your peers, your parents and as of lately, your own damn boyfriend about your appearance, you had convinced yourself that there wasn’t a single soul within the small town that could see beauty in any size above a 10.
despite your detailed plan to stay at least 5 miles away from hawkins at all times, you were currently breaking your own rules as you pulled into the driveway of your boyfriends parents house, barely able to get the car in park before he was out of the car and into the awaiting arms of his parents. the days leading up to this moment had involved a couple of screaming matches, nights on the couch while your boyfriend took the bed, awkward silences and a lot of tears. all of that in an attempt to convince cody that there was no reason you needed to join him at his parents 27th anniversary party. you had only been seeing him for 8 months, were they even at that stage yet? meeting parents, extended family? who had a party for an odd numbered anniversary, anyway?
jolted from your thoughts by cody banging loudly on the window, telling you to hurry up and get out of the car and meet his awaiting family, you inhaled a deep breath and checked yourself in the rear view mirror before putting on your sweetest smile and slipped into the character of the perfect girl, for their perfect son. the bags were fetched by your boyfriends two younger siblings as you were ushered inside and sat down on a couch in the living room next to your boyfriend, his parents sitting opposite the two of you. all you needed now was a spotlight on you and this would feel like an episode of criminal minds, yourself as the suspect. your crimes? not being good enough for their sweet, do nothing wrong, angel of a son.
after what felt like hours of questions about your past, present and future plans with cody, you were finally able to slip away to the guest bedroom to clean yourself up and get ready to meet some of your high school friends at the hide out bar, another place you had vowed to not get sucked into by hawkins but apparently their favourite band was playing. alcohol would help and hopefully some loud music would drown out the thoughts that were lingering in your mind from the exhausting afternoon you had experienced.
your boyfriend drove the two of you to the dive bar, promising you he would stay sober so you could have a good time with your friends. you were wearing a pair of acid wash jeans that had a few rips around the thighs and a loose fitting judas priest t-shirt. you had thought that your clothing choice wouldn’t have brought any ‘jokes’ from your boyfriend, as he liked to call them. you were mistaken when he reached over to grab your thigh, specifically where the jeans were ripped and he let out a short laugh to himself, “babe, you look like those pieces of meat wrapped with string!” he laughed harder after he had spoken, too busy enjoying his humour to see your jaw clenching tight. his attention was back on you when you slapped his hand away and got out the car as soon as he pulled into a parking space. “fucking asshole,” you muttered to yourself, counting your lucky stars that cody hasn’t heard you as he ran to catch up and put a possessive hand around your waist. “you know i’m just playing babe, i don’t care that you’re bigger than other girls.” you could have punched him right then and there.
the sound of ‘the hellion’, one of your favourite songs from judas priest in the distance was enough to switch your anger from joy. if the night was starting this way, it was surely only up from here. you met your friends in the doorway, taking part in the typical traditions of squealing ridiculously and hugging each other before making your way to the bar and ordering yourself a vodka cranberry, a coke for your boyfriend who stood next to you with his hand on your lower back. once you had your drink in hand, you turned your attention to the band that was playing, your eyes landing on a handmade banner that hung above the small stage, “corroded coffin,” you said to yourself, almost gasping aloud when you remembered where you had heard that name before.
your eyes scanned the four members of the band, landing on the guitarist and your cheeks flushed red. no fucking way was eddie munson still in hawkins, playing at the dive bar with five drunk men singing along sloppily to current song. you had been in the same grade as eddie but you hadn’t ever had the guts to speak to him, you simply admired from afar and reminded yourself that you were getting the hell out of dodge when graduation day hit. you remembered hearing that eddie hadn’t graduated, but you had put it down to small town gossip and even if it was true, why was it their business anyway? he clearly didn’t need brains when he had those skilled fingers currently playing ‘pain and pleasure’ another one of your favourite tunes. and that face, those big brown eyes and his long curls could get him anywhere he wanted, you were sure of it.
you didn’t miss the feel of your boyfriends hand on your back, too immersed in the band playing and enjoying the company of your old friends to see where he had gone. that being until the band finished up and you saw cody at the bar, standing close enough to a female that you didn’t recognise, close enough that to make your skin crawl. you stood like a deer in headlights before the anger took over, driving your feet forward quickly as you approached the two of them. when you were a few steps away from the two, you were grinding to a halt at the site of their lips colliding hungrily. “are you fucking kidding me?!” you yelled, happy to draw the attention to the situation, your fists clenched and your cheeks flaming hot. “you drag me back to this hell hole to kiss the first girl you see?!” you continued, grabbing the front of your boyfriends shirt and using your body to push him into the bar. “what the fuck is wrong with you, huh?”
eddie hadn’t expected anything interesting to happen, nothing ever did when his band played every friday at the hide out. the usual crowd were around, a few extra people that were celebrating the end of their week with a drink, but nothing rowdy. that being until eddie was setting his guitar down on the stand after wrapping up, the sudden yelling making him nearly jump out of his skin. “jesus, what the-“ he turned, eyes finding the source of the yelling. now it was his turn to look like a deer in headlights, seeing what seemed like a ghost for the first few seconds that it took for his brain to catch up with the situation. eddie knew her, had known her since middle school, watched her from afar in high school, always too scared off rejection to ever approach her.
to eddie it looked like the situation was heading south fast, the way she grabbed what he assumed was her boyfriend and shoved him into the bar, enough to send a couple of shot glasses to the floor. he willed himself to stay back, almost smirking at the sight of y/n manhandling him, it seemed to eddie like the jerk deserved it from what he had heard you yelling viciously at him. a few moments passed where eddie watched her holding him by his shirt, it looked like you were in control of the situation. the script seemed to flip suddenly and eddie saw red, running across the room rapidly when he saw the guy grab y/n by her throat, flipping their position and holding her shorter frame against the bar.
you hadn’t been prepared for the large hand around your throat, a sharp ache in your back as you were shoved into the bar painfully. “f-fuck off,” you gasped, pushing at his chest in an effort to get him off you. he snarled and leaned into you, his breath hot on your face and it stunk of alcohol as soon as it hit your nostrils. cody pushed you harder into the bar top, narrowing his dark eyes at you as his hand tightened on your throat, “worthless bitch,” he spat, ignoring the pleads from your friends to let you go. “you think you deserve me? i didn’t sign up to date a fat bitch.” the words hit like bricks, it was nothing you hadn’t said to yourself but when it came from someone who you thought you could trust, it stung in a different way. tears stung at your eyes and in a matter of seconds, you were dropping to the floor from your boyfriends grip being ripped away from you.
eddie snagged the back of your boyfriends shirt, yanking firmly and shoving him away from the bar top and more importantly, you. “touch her again, i fucking dare you,” eddie shouted, pushing him again until his back hit one of the round patron tables. eddie was seeing red, throwing punch after punch to his face until the bartender was present and pulling eddie away. luckily he had heard and seen what had happened and he knew eddie well, resulting in y/n’s boyfriend being forcefully removed. once eddie knew that the douchebag was gone, his eyes scanned for you rapidly. you were still on the ground, catching your breath as your friends fussed over you before helping you to your feet.
“i’m fine, i’m okay,” you gasped out to reassure your friends, rubbing your throat where your ex-boyfriends hand had been a few moments ago. you smiled thankfully at the bartender who offered you some water, quickly chugging almost half the bottle. “what a fucking psycho,” you sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. your mind was still reeling from what had happened in a matter of seconds, you scanned the room to see everyone in the bar staring at you. this was a literal nightmare. but soon your eyes landed on what was once a dream, now reality as eddie munson stood in front of you, looking out of breathe and in a trance.
you approach him slowly, forgetting your friends who stared at you in confusion. “eddie?” you stood in front of him, keeping some distance between the two of you. he nodded dumbly, amazed that this was the first time you had spoken a word to each other, of all times and places. “that’s me,” he said with an awkward laugh, bringing his stinging hand to the back of his neck. “you’re.. y/n?” he asked, hoping and praying to anyone listening that he had remembered your name correctly. your lips broke into a smile and you nodded, “yep, that’s me,” you said quietly, noticing his hand that looked red and already bruised go behind his neck. “oh, shit! let me.. uh.. let’s get some ice on that, yeah?” you figured this was a good start to thanking him for stepping in.
you figured eddie was a regular act at the bar with the way he walked around the counter as if he was at home. he grabbed a towel, bunching it around a handful of the ice to hold against his knuckles. you had stayed behind the bar, watching him make an ice pack for what you could only imagine was a very sore hand. you looked over your shoulder at your friends, then back to eddie. “hey eddie, i’ll be back in one second, okay?” you said to him, waiting to see him nod before you approached your friends. “guys, i’m gonna hang back and make sure eddie is okay. i should also buy him a drink, i’ll deal with cody later,” you said, ignoring their confused looks and brushing them off, “go, go! i’ll be fine, i’m a big girl,” you laughed, albeit a bit weakly. anything to get them off your back. they seemed hesitant but left you to it, making sure you promised to call if you needed a place to crash.
you went back to eddie who was now sitting on the bar stool with two beers in front of him, looking at you like a puppy whose owner had just arrived home. “hey!” you frowned at the beers, narrowing your eyes playfully at eddie, “i owe you a drink, not the other way around!” you huffed, taking the seat next to him and despite your protest, you downed a good portion of the cold beer. after a few minutes of comfortable silence, your fingers picked at the label on the beer bottle and your eyes looked anywhere but at eddie. “i- eddie, thank you. my boyfriend, well i guess ex boyfriend now.. he never.. he hasn’t done anything like that before,” the words came out stammered, your breath getting caught around the lump in your throat as tears began to spill down your cheeks.
eddie’s heart broke at the sight of you crying and he rushed to gather you up in a tight hug, knowing that’s what he would have wanted if the roles were reversed. he had imagined this moment many times, imagined what it would feel like to have your soft body wrapped up in his. he would sometimes indulge further, imagining his hands getting to map out every inch of skin before exploring the map with his mouth. “hey, hey,” he soothed softly, holding the back of your head as you cried into his shoulder. “you’re okay, you’re safe. he’s gone. i’ve got you,” he could feel you shaking, but you were allowing yourself to be enveloped by his arms and accept the safe space. eddie thought about his options and where the line was in this scenario, all he wanted was to make y/n feel better and take her mind off of the events that had happened. he cleared his throat, shifting so that he was looking into your eyes that seemed to look anywhere but his, “sweetheart, how about we get out of here? feel free to slap me but this place is a bore and i have weed in my van, if that’s your gig.”
you were nodding before eddie had even finished his sentence. you needed nothing more than to get out of there after what had happened and it wasn’t like you had plans anymore. “yeah, fuck yeah let’s get out of here,” you said with a quick nod, chugging back the rest of your beer and you definitely didn’t miss the smirk from eddie as he watched you. he did the same before grabbing ahold of your hand, lacing your fingers as he walked you to his van that was parked around the back of the bar.
you were tense for the short walk to his van, gripping eddie’s hand until he opened the passenger seat to his van for you, waiting for you to be seated comfortably before he shut the door and made his way to the drivers side. he tapped his fingers along the steering wheel for a moment, pursing his lips then turning to face you with the sweetest eyes you had ever seen. “would you be comfortable coming back to my place? i have some weed, alcohol and music?” he asked cautiously, worried he was teetering close to the line of things that were not appropriate to do with someone who had practically been mauled by their boyfriend.
you didn’t need the promise of weed, music or alcohol, being alone with eddie was all you could ever want. anything else was just a bonus. “i’d like that, eddie,” you looked at him, really looked at him and he looked even more beautiful than you had originally thought. the way he looked at you, like you were providing the air that was keeping him alive, the one holding up the moon and the stars. no one had looked at you like that before and even though this had been the shittiest night of your life, there seemed to be a way to turn it around and enjoy what would probably be a once in a lifetime moment. you smiled wider when eddie clapped his hands together at your response, his smile bright and he was quickly starting the van, making the short drive to the trailer park. neither of you spoke on the drive but the silence wasn’t tense or awkward, it was peaceful and you knew you were safe.
eddie unlocked the door, giving it a push with his foot when it got stuck then holding it open for you. you moved past him with a thankful smile, your eyes immediately caught by the walls that were lined with more mugs than you could have imagined would be in one room. eddie followed behind, simply watching you take in your new surroundings. he also didn’t mind taking in your body for the first time that night now that things were settled and they had left that part of the night behind. he couldn’t help his eyes fixating on your ass, who could blame him? he admired the way your thick thighs filled out the jeans, hugging your figure beautifully. “judas,” he mumbled, taking note of the t-shirt you were wearing. “you like judas priest?” he asked, stepping closer to you until he reached his hand to touch the faded pattern on the back of your shirt.
your breath hitched at the unexpected touch of eddie’s fingers on your back, feeling the heat of his fingertips through the only layer that stopped him from touching your bare skin. not that he wanted that, he was simply admiring a mutually loved band tee. “who doesn’t?” you teased, turning on your heel to face eddie and you gasped when you came near face to face with him, only a mere inch away from his lips. “s-sorry, i probably shouldn’t have chugged that beer,” you laughed, stepping back and diverting your gaze from eddie. you were only tipsy, but it was an easy excuse. “you said something about weed?” you asked, a hopeful smile on your lips and you found yourself laughing as eddie grabbed your hand and ran you down the hall to his bedroom.
“sorry about the mess, wasn’t plannin’ on having a pretty girl here tonight,” eddie said, frantically throwing the pile of clothes off his bed, straightening the covers as much as he could but you stopped him from doing much more when you sat on the bed. you smiled fondly, sitting yourself down in favour of getting off your feet and out of your boots, your feet were aching and you yearned for the softness of a bed. “it’s no problem, eds. sit with me?” you looked up at him, watching him frown and kick a couple more things aside before sitting down next to you on the bed with his back against the wall and his legs splayed out, his tin lunch box sitting on his lap. he had thankfully pre rolled some joints, he never had the energy after a show to roll. “here you go, sweetheart,” he smiled widely, holding out the joint to you in one hand with a lighter in the other hand.
one hour and two joints later, you were on cloud nine, the cloud in this scenario being eddie’s face. “fucking hell, eddie,” you moaned, gripping his hand that was on your hip, reeling at the sensation of his cold rings against your hand, knowing they were going to create indents in your hips soon. you couldn’t remember who went in for the kiss first but it had all been a blur of hurried tugging of clothes, a stubbed toe and a bra clasp stuck on eddie’s hair. all of those leading up to him begging you to sit on his face, his pleas mumbled out around your nipple as he sucked eagerly, “baby, please. please let me taste you, i want you on my face. please?” your first answer had been no, protesting that you were going to crush him, but you could only resist him for so long when his tongue was already proving to be just as talented as you had imagined. you had asked him three times if he was sure, hovering above his chest nervously and with the fourth time, he grabbed your hips and pulled you down until your pussy was flush against his lips.
eddie was sure he had died and gone to heaven the moment y/n finally gave in to her wants, her wet pussy colliding with his lips which drew a low moan from his lips. “princess, you taste so fucking good, my god,” he groaned, lapping eagerly at your clit, his eyes locked on yours. he brought the hand that wasn’t entwined in yours up to your mouth and you immediately parted your lips, sucking on two of his fingers eagerly while grinding slowly against his tongue. you moaned around his digits, chasing them as eddie pulled them from your mouth which made him chuckle. “you’re fucking beautiful,” he growled, bringing the soaked digits to your hole that was already more than wet enough to take him, he had simply wanted to see your mouth full and your spit on his fingers. you threw your head back when he plunged his fingers in, giving you no time to adjust as he was curling his fingers up and pressing in with slow, deep movements.
eddie was lapping at your clit, his moans sending vibrations through your body that rattled your bones and pulled a loud moan from your lips, “eddie, fuck- oh my god!” one of your hands found its way into eddie’s curls while the other was behind you on eddie’s chest, your fingers clutching at the soft hairs.
eddie’s eyes squinted open when he felt your fingers slink into his hair, almost like you knew it would make him weak. he considered keeping his thoughts to himself but he was feeling a little bit selfish, needing something to ease the ache of his hard dick that pressed into the denim of his jeans. “pull my hair, please?” he hadn’t intended to sound so needy, but having a literal goddess sitting on his face did things to a man, who could blame him?
you raised your eyebrow slightly at eddie’s request, never having encountered anything quite like him in your past sexual experiences but how could you deny those sweet eyes staring up at you? you couldn’t. “anything for you, eds,” your fingers curled tighter around his locks before tugging firmly which in turn brought his face closer against your wet heat that he continued to suck and lap at like his life depended on it, a deep groan coming from him as you pulled on his hair again, earning yourself another moan from the gorgeous boy below you. “you like that, don’t you?” the answer was already loud and clear, but you were really starting to enjoy this little game eddie had started.
eddie nodded rapidly, taking a quick moment to lean his head back and take a breathe after suffocating himself inside her sweet nectar. “fuck yeah baby, keep pulling, just like that,” he moaned, diving straight back into your clit with vigour while his fingers doubled in speed, filling the room with the wet noise of his fingers fucking you open. “come for me baby, i want you to come on my face, wanna taste you,” he thought he sounded pathetic and horny but you seemed to enjoy it if your high pitched moans were anything to go by.
there was a deep pressure building in your stomach, the constant force of eddie’s fingers inside of you and his lips locked around your clit brought you to the edge and you physically couldn’t stop your thighs from clenching around his head while you rode the incoming wave of ecstasy. you had anticipated that eddie would have stopped but he pushed further, deeper and faster inside you, making you near scream from the sheer force of him, “e-eddie! i can’t, i ca-“ the crashing force of please cut you off as something you had only ever seen in porn happen, too quickly for you to move away from eddie’s face, a quick gush of liquid streamed from your pussy and onto eddie’s awaiting tongue.
eddie’s eyes flew open wide when he felt the first splash on his tongue, followed by some more that he eagerly slurped up until you were wiggling away from him, feeling far too over sensitive for another touch. “holy hell, y/n. did you just squirt on me?” licking his lips, eddie gently helped you move onto the bed and lay down on your stomach while you caught your breathe, his hand resting on your back.
it felt like years before you could speak again, turning your head to rest your cheek on eddie’s pillow so you could look at him and you couldn’t help but blush wildly when you saw the wetness coating the lower half of his face. “i.. i guess?” shyness was starting to creep back now that the high was fading and you reached out to find something to cover yourself, not getting too far before eddie was sliding his arm around your waist and bringing your back against his chest, making you the little spoon. “where you off to, beautiful?” his soft voice trickled through your ear, making it easy to melt into his hold. “sorry, kind of a habit,” your words were barely above a whisper.
eddie hummed happily when you curled into his arms, feeling bold enough to slink his arm around your front and rest his hand on your tummy. “this okay?” he asked, smiling brighter when you nodded and hummed in approval. you leaned back into eddie, nudging your nose against his curls. “do you need.. i mean.. are you.. can i do anything for you?” you sighed at your awkwardness, cursing at yourself internally. eddie chucked and shook his head, pressing his lips against your ear. “i’m good, i blew my load when you squirted on me,” he answered simply with a shrug. “how about i clean us up and then we can sleep, if you want to stay?” he put on his best puppy eyes, even going as far as to pout at you.
your heart jumped happily in your chest when eddie asked if you wanted to stay, meaning you could live in this safe bubble for a while longer. “i’d love that eddie, thank you.” you smiled, sitting up and following him to the bathroom where he ran a wash cloth under warm water, bringing it between your legs and around your thighs until you were all cleaned up. he removed his jeans and sticky boxers, kicking them to the corner of the bathroom to address another time, preferably when he didn’t have the prettiest girl in his bed. he remained close to you, his hand on your back as you walked back to the bedroom and all but collapsed into the awaiting bed.
the thin sheet on eddie’s bed covered you while eddie locked up the trailer and switched the lights off, returning to you with a running start from the hallway and a leap of faith onto the bed which sent you both into a fit of giggles. the sheet now gone, your naked body was entwined with eddie’s as you settled into him, your head on his chest and one leg swung across his hip. “thank you, for.. well, everything,” you whispered, the darkness of the room making the words easier to speak into reality. eddie smile, pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head. “you’re welcome, princess. get some rest now, yeah? it’s been a long night,” he hummed, smoothing his fingers through your hair.
you dozed off in a matter of minutes, the events of the night catching up to you quickly now that all the adrenalin was gone. eddie waited for you to start snoring softly, telling him you were in a deep sleep before he allowed himself to let sleep take him, his eyes sliding shut but not before he gave one last squeeze to the beautiful woman in his arms.

Summary: A trip to be remembered and a confession that leaves Eddie puzzled.
Part 2
Bags were packed and loaded. Snacks and drinks were bought. A Ziploc bag full with coins for tolls and a map were in Eddie's glove box. And hours of music were picked. All that was left was to wake up at the ass crack of dawn.
This senior ditch day was going to be epic. Months and months of saving and scrimping was all going to be worth it. 3 days of total and complete freedom. The road trip of a lifetime. One last hurrah. Together.
Only this was gonna be tough. Being in close quarters with you for 3 whole days. How was he gonna deal?
Lately he was doing pretty good at keeping his feelings at bay… well that wasn't true. You had left for a week after the senior outing to visit the college you got into.
He missed you more than ever. But over those few days, he reflected back on everything. Sure how he now felt about you came unexpectedly. Still, he never wanted to be with anyone more. Especially since he realized you were perfect for each other.
However if he decided to make a move, there was no certainty that you would be up for it. Also, what would it do to the friendship? You guys had been friends way too long. It would be awkward.
So he chose to push all that he felt away and enjoy this last trip with his friends.
…
It was 4 am on Friday and everyone was ready to hit the road. You had just hopped in the passenger seat with a huge thermos of coffee.
“ Sorry. Thy birth giver wanted to pray for safe travels and a safe return.”
Eddie smiled. “ Welp, hopefully one of the pagan gods heard her.”
You turned around and offered up some coffee and donuts to everyone. When you turned back, you pulled out the map.
“ Okay Eddie. Please for the love of all that is holy. Please don't kill us.”
He chuckled. “ Ye have little faith kid.”
You rolled your eyes and took a bite of a donut and pointed forward. “ Let's do this.”
Everyone whooped and hollard. “New York! Here we come!”
-
3 hours later
“Oh crap! Munson please!” Jeff whimpered.
Gareth backed away a little. “ Man oh man. I told you not to have that second cup of coffee.”
Eddie shook his head while you were laughing your butt off.
“ Calm down.” He said. “ The next gas station in 3 miles out.”
“ I-I don't think I- I can hold it!” Jeff stammered.
“ YOU BETTER!” Grant yelled.
You turned around. “ Guy, guys guys!” It's gonna be fine. Jeffrey. 2 ½ minutes. You can do this. Just squeeze.”
You looked back at Eddie and just grinned away. All he could think about was how nice your eyes looked.
As soon as he pulled into the parking lot, Jeff kicked open the back door and ran into the store.
Once Eddie turned off the engine everyone sat there quietly for a few seconds before laughing like crazy.
When it died down you guys got off to move your legs around.
Eddie went to fill up while the other guys went to see about some real breakfast.
He had just put in the gas nozzle and turned to find you doing toe touches.
He shouldn't have done it, but he did. He checked you out. Loving how your leggings hugged your round bottom. How beautifully wide your hips were.
When you stood back up you walked towards him.
“ Eddie? Can you pop my back?”
He nodded and took a step closer to you. “ Turn around and cross your arms around your chest.”
Once you did as you were instructed, he stepped behind you and wrapped his arms around you. He then took a deep inhale in and caught a whiff of your shampoo. He instantly got goose flesh.
Stop it! He told himself.
After lifting you up for a second, he quickly put you back down. Your bottom brushed his lower half in the process.
Fuck!
His hands fell down to your hips. He mentally had to tell himself to not pull you to him.
“ W-was that okay?” He nervously asked.
You turned around and nodded. Bodies only inches apart.
“ So much better. Thank you.”
He stared at your lips as you spoke. Were they always so full? They definitely looked incredibly soft.
“ G-good.” He stuttered as he kept looking at your mouth and thinking.
“Eddie? You okay? Do I have something in my teeth?”
“ Hmm?” He met your gaze. “ Yeah. No. Yeah. You're good. I just ummm…sorry I was just trying to decide if I should take a leak.”
“ Alright dude." You held up your hand. " Too much info. Go, I'll finish pumping.”
With that said he practically ran away. Rushing into the first stall that was empty. While sighing deeply he cursed himself. He really wanted to kiss you.
His thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a god awful stench.
“ UGH! Jeff what the hell man?! Ever heard of a courtesy flush?”
“ S-sorry man.”
Eddie smiled when he saw the buildings in the distance. He looked at you and your eyes were so big.
“ Guys look! We're almost there.” You said excitedly.
Gareth moved between you and him. “ Awwwww yeah baby. Just think, in a couple of weeks we're moving here.”
Eddie caught a sad look on your face. He knew how bad you wanted to go to Columbia. To be close to them while they followed their dreams to be rockstars. But things didn't work out. Instead, you were going to a college on the west coast.
It was a good school. Everyone knew that. It had a great biology and geology department. Something you were excited about. Still, you were scared because you didn't know anyone there. Everyone you knew and loved would be on the other side of the country.
That's why Eddie understood the sad face. He remembered conversations he had with you about it. He remembered wiping away your tears as you told him about your rejection from Columbia. And though he was the one to talk you into getting some California sun, he now realized he didn't want you to go either.
He tapped your knee and started writing.
‘ okay?’
You peered out the front windshield and slightly shook your head. Then you put your hand on his and squeezed it gently. Letting him know you would be fine.
He knew you would be. You were awesome and you would make friends easily. It's just now he didn't know if he would be okay without you.
You put your finger against your lips.“ Shhhh! Guys I know you're freaking out, but I need you to trust me.”
Everyone was following you down these concrete hallways for a good 5 minutes now. After checking into the hotel and getting food, they had all found themselves sneaking into a building.
Jeff was the first to doubt you. But as soon as a security officer came close to catching you guys, everyone tried to convince you to turn back.
Eddie looked into your eyes and nodded. “ Okay.” He whispered. “ If we go to jail, it better be worth it.”
You held out your hand for him. “ It will be. I promise.”
Your hand was everything he thought it would be. Soft, warm and fit perfectly in his. He swore he would follow you anywhere if it meant that he could hold your hand.
Once you guys were finally in the spot, you told them to stay put. When you let go of his hand, he now felt like a part of him was missing.
You were only gone for a second. But in those few moments they had all realized where they snuck into.
Eddie was speechless. There were absolutely no words that could describe how he felt.
A few spot lights turned on. Pointing directly in the middle of a huge stage.
You returned on top of it. “ So?”
“ Shit!” They all said in unison.
You gave them a huge smile. “ I know right? Obviously you guys can't perform or anything like that. But I wanted the first time you step foot in here, that it's with your biggest support. Cuz I know one day I'm going to be standing right there… screaming my head off.”
They looked at the spot where you pointed. It was right in front of the platform.
You locked eyes with him.“ So get up here and take it in.”
The guys looked at each other then ran to get up too. Once up there you asked for help getting down. You then watched them laugh and wrestle playfully.
“ Alright freaks!” You announced. “ Imagine this.  Every seat is full. And the floor is packed with bodies. All waiting for you.”
They all stared at you after moving to their respective place. As if they're standing by their instruments.
“ The crowd is chanting. Corroded Coffin. Corroded Coffin….Then the lights go out. The ones that are sitting jump up and everyone screams in anticipation. But then... it goes silent…”
Eddie pictured everything. It was all him and the guys ever wanted.
“ Then they hear you.” You point at Gareth. “ Then you.” You looked at Jeff. “ Then of course you bud.” You nodded towards Grant. “ And finally the strum of a guitar along with oooooohhhhs and awwwws from you.”
Eddie finally had your eyes on him. And he knew right then and there that he was in love with you. It wasn't just a silly crush anymore. It was the real thing. The can't eat, can't sleep, the winning touchdown, the home run, the one in a lifetime love.
He loved you because you loved them. You believed in them. And the way you laid out the scene with so much conviction, it had him convinced that they were gonna make it too.
You smiled at him and continued. “ And while you blow off the roof of this place, the crowd sings and sways with you."
-
Later that night everyone settled into the shared room. Gareth and Jeff in one bed, Eddie and Grant on the sofa bed. And of course being the only female of the group they gave you your own bed.
Eddie has just come out of the shower to find everyone asleep. Except you. You weren't even in the room.
He looked at Grant who took up the whole bed and he sighed. Looked like he was gonna sleep on the floor.
He waited a minute to see if you would come back but after about 5 minutes, he went to look for you.
You weren't far though. He found you sitting on the steps reading something.
“ Hey kid. Whatcha doin?”
You gave him a quick little smile before looking back at your book. “ Uhhhh nothing really. Just checking out courses.”
He sat next to you and pulled out his pack of cigarettes. Before he could light one you plucked it from his mouth.
“ No you promised. No smoking on this trip.”
He gave you a thin lip before taking back the smoke and returning it to the carton.
“ You really should quit. I don't want to see you end up with an oxygen tank.”
He put the pack back in his pocket. “ One day. I promise.”
You flipped a page. “ I'll keep you to that.”
You guys sat quiet. Listen to the bustle of the city. Eddie was trying to gather the courage to tell you how he felt. But he was scared. What if he took a leap of faith and it turned ugly? What if you did like him the way he liked you and things didn't work out? Or what if his confession lead to you guys not being friends anymore?
Doubt filled his thoughts. But then a bit of hope shined on him. What if it did work out? What if you guys made it past the long distance thing and were truly happy together? What if this love was meant to be?
“ Eddie?”
His inner rambling came to a halt. “ Y-yeah?”
You closed your book and started fidgeting with the corners. “ You know you're my best friend right?”
He softly cleared his throat. “ Yeah.”
“ And we always tell each other everything.”
He nodded. “ Yeah.”
You sighed a little. “ So you know that I have family out here….well my uncle actually works as a security guard at the garden. He worked tonight…he knew we were coming and he did me a solid…we wouldn't have gotten in trouble if we got caught.”
For a second there his heart sank. He thought you were gonna say that you liked him too. But then he smiled and wrapped his arms around you.
“ I'm really gonna miss you.” He said softly.
You hug his waist. “ I think I'll miss you more.”
The hug lasted a minute or so, but it was the best damn hug he had ever had. And when you tried pulled away he hugged you tighter. Making you giggle.
When he finally loosen his grip, you stared deeply into his eyes. The way you sat there, it was like your eyes were trying to tell him something your mouth couldn't. It was almost as if you were asking him to kiss you.
He was gonna go for it. He was gonna take that leap. However the second he leaned in you yawned. Pulling completely away from him so you wouldn't do it in his face.
“ Wow I'm beat. We should get some sleep. Big day in Time's Square tomorrow."
He frowned at the fleeding moment that seemed to be fate.
“ Yeah you're probably right.” He conceded to it. “ You think you could lend me a pillow and that blanket you brought?”
You looked at him and raised a brow. Silently asking why?
“ Gonna crash on the floor. Grant's a bed hog.”
You laughed lightly and yawned again. “ No. You can sleep with me.”
His breath hitched in his throat while asking a shaky. “ W-what?”
You grinned and stood up, holding out your hand. “ Like when we were kids. If you're worried that I'll get handsy then we can make a pillow barrier.”
He chuckled. “ Maybe I like handsy.”
He regretted it as soon as it came out.
The silence that followed his comment nearly made him shit a brick. You stood there with an almost visible question mark above your head.
Shit! He thought. Shouldn't have said that.
You then shook your head and laughed. “ Stop being weird and take my hand.”
He practically wiped his brow and said whew before grabbing your hand. Allowing you to lead him back.
He laid there for a while thinking about all that happened. He couldn't believe he was gonna kiss you before telling you how he felt. That wasn't the guy he was. He always made sure he got consent. And with you it would be no different. All he had to do was get some real alone time with you so he can finally say something.
When we get home. He said to himself.
He heard you sigh and felt you move a bit. Then he felt your arm sliding across his stomach. Without thinking he lifted his arm and gently pulled you closer. Slipping his arm under your head.
Both of you sank further into the bed. He smiled and his last thought before falling asleep was how much he loved you.
The next day and a half was the best in his life. Exploring the city, eating the best pizza and getting some information about playing at clubs when they moved there. It was fantastic.
Now it was time to head home and finish up the school year.
The drive seemed longer this time. More quiet. And he knew why. In exactly 2 weeks things were going to be different. Everyone was going to graduate and their adult lives were going to start. For a long time he couldn't wait to get the hell out of Hawkins. So did his friends. But now that it was happening, it was so hard to see the next chapter. Well with this little monster of love inside him.
When it was time to switch off. Jeff and Grant traded places with you and him.
You guys crawled in the back with the sleeping Gareth and tried to catch some z's.
You leaned your head on his shoulder and started to hum a familiar tune. He put his hand on your knee and started tapping to the beat. He caught a small smile from you.
“ Hey Jeff? Could you drop me off first when we get into town?” you asked.
“No problem.”
You went back to humming and Eddie was trying to figure out what exactly he was gonna say. Before he knew it he was sound asleep with you.
Until he heard the vans break squeak to a stop.
He opened his eyes and saw they were in front of your house. You had just opened the door and hopped out.
Though he wanted this to be a private moment, it was now or never.
He sat up and followed you. “ I need a minute man.” He said to Jeff. “ Hold up kid. I'll help you.”
You tried to refuse his help in carrying your duffle bag, but he could see you were too tired to try.
You stoped on at your doorstep and reached for your bag. “ Thanks Eddie.”
He handed you the bag and took a deep breath. Just as you turned to open the door he said your name.
“ Yeah?”
His eyes fell to the ground as he rubbed the back of his neck. “ Uhhhh nevermind. I'll tell you later.”
You cleared your throat gently and took a step towards him. “ I hate when you do that.”
His gaze shot up to yours. “ D-do what?”
You put your free hand on your hip. “ When you look like you have something important to say then just brush it off…Just tell me because I'm gonna be up all night wondering what you wanted to say.”
He looked away and stood quiet for a few seconds. “ I-I’ve been acting different lately.”
“ I know.”
He met your eyes again. “ Yeah?”
You didn't say anything, but he knew that you did.
“ So I-” he cut off. Suddenly his nerves were getting the best of him. “ I don't- ummm shit…I- well the reason…damn it! I cant- I don't know-”
You grabbed his hand and lightly squeezed it. Letting him know that it was okay. To calm down and take a breath.
He took a deep inhale and slowly let it out. “ I think possibly, maybe I’ve fallen for you.”
Your expression after that gave him a sinking feeling. You didn't feel the same.
Your frown said it all.
“ I'm sorry. I-I just needed to say something.”
You nodded but surprisingly you didn't let go of his hand. You were actually staring at his hand in yours.
“Eddie…I want to talk more about this. But I can't even think straight and my knees are about to give in.”
That wasn't what he was hoping for.
“Right! Umm yeah. Sorry, just forget I said anything.” He said trying to walk away.
But you held his hand firmly. Preventing him from taking a step further. “ No. Don't do that.”
He looked back at you and you had your eyes closed.
“ Eddie, this is important. If it wasn't then you wouldn't have said anything at all…This deserves a real conversation that I can't give you right now. So please don't leave thinking that I don't feel the same way."
He was in disbelief. Did he hear that right?
You gave his hand one last squeeze before letting go and going inside.
He stood there staring at the door. Did he dream that? You like him too?
Gareth rolled down the window. “ Munson, let's go. I wanna go home!”
He sighed and smiled to himself. " Y-yeah. Okay."

Have we met before?
I love the idea that the losers crossed paths, but didn't remember each other before reuniting in Derry. I especially love the idea that eddie went to a trashmouth performance in New York.
