ranboo was saying he had several ideas for his character’s lore inspired from the first little nightmares alone is frightening enough

but the prequel’s concept of “becoming that which you’ve fought against for so long”? infinitely more concerning when you consider that c!ranboo isn’t exactly what one would call a Stable Person, in particular with regard to his morals, ideals, and beliefs. c!ranboo tries so hard to hold himself to his personal code, but what if it’s not enough? 

what if, no matter what he does, he’s fated to become his own worst nightmare?

if we Really wanna follow the little nightmares path, imagine that sort of betrayal. someone close to him, maybe tubbo - with his investigations into tommy’s murder and the explosion at the Vault that proceeded it - starts to sees the pattern forming. and maybe tubbo doesn’t want to believe it, but then something happens, he sees an enderwalking ranboo openly allying himself with dream in some way, with infallible evidence, and how could tubbo forgive that? i mean, its dream. 

but the way tubbo confronts ranboo about it only makes things worse, adding fuel to the flame and in such a way that manages to push ranboo away from all of his friends. and then the voice returns, but this time its soothing, comforting even, to a kid who feels he’s just lost his husband and best friend, and anyone else who might care about him. and maybe in the isolation, the line between who ranboo is as a conscious man and who he is when enderwalking gets blurrier and blurrier. and when dream finally requests of ranboo the inevitable, why wouldn’t he feel inclined to break him out? it’ll have been dream’s voice, if not necessarily dream himself, who’s been comforting ranboo, who’d been there.

and when you’ve become the bad guy, who else would befriend you but the person you’ve unwillingly become?

the day people stop applying our society’s rules and moral norms to the dsmp when discussing the characters is the day i finally know peace

things that we would consider reasonable expectations do not necessarily or inherently apply to a world that has no rules beyond the banning of the end, where towers hundreds of meters high are constructed in an afternoon, where wealth and riches can be achieved by anyone willing to dedicate the hours necessary, where mysterious eggs appear and control minds and influence the hearts of those in its power

of course this is all individual opinion. but i don’t understand the application of our laws of morality being applied to a world that clearly does not operate the same way ours would.

listening to shostakovich five bc i brought it up to a friend earlier as a suggestion of a symphony to listen to and. 

MAN. i just. i miss symphonic band a fuck ton dude like bein with all the other horns and playin cool shit was just sm fun,,, im not rly in contact with any of the people in my section form high school (or at least. not close contact to any degree lmao) but i just miss the vibes

#eb.rambles #and granted yeah theres still marching band now that im in college. and theres symphonic band options #i was in one first semester. but i fucked up registration for second semester so </3 #and confession but i rly dont like the only other horn at that band level with me but im like #Not Good Enough to be in any of the higher levels of band. ive never rly been good w practicing #which is ofc obviously my fault. but i just wish this shit came easier to me bc i genuinely love it a lot #but also at the same time im not. a music major lmao. doesnt make a whole lotta sense for a comp sci kid to be in the good ensembles yeah?

watching jujutsu kaisen and this man just said "i am an adult and you are a child. i have a duty to prioritize your life over mine" and i was like Damn That Hits Deep

and then i realized its the same thing i see w tommy, ranboo, and tubbo's characters on the dsmp. and the argument of "theyre kids and its an adults job to care for them" always kinda felt weird to me? like,,, yeah sure 16/17 (granted in jjk theyre younger) isnt an adult but youre definitely old enough to more or less handle yourself. esp wrt the fact that this is all fictional,,, like Nothings really gonna change so much in that 12-24 month span thats gonna make you magically not need help anymore?

i dunno if im sayin this right but i guess its just always kinda rubbed me the wrong way that all the shit the teenagers go through on the smp is framed as being terrible because theyre not eighteen. and not like, y'know, bc the fact that their experiences and the events of the smp are objectively awful and traumatic

#i hope ive phrased this right its like 2am n im just kinda rambling yknow but yeah #and to clarify i know that the way a character or real person would be affected by that is influenced by their age #and im not saying that its not fucked up #just that theyre not like.
