1 & 2. Supposed scenes from the mythical Hyperborean 'culture.'
3. One of the many maps supposedly pertaining to Hyperborea. Note the Leng Plateau (from Lovecraft!) & the Kimmerian (from Conan!) lands.
1906: The Earth (is) Not Hollow.
Intro: Hyperborea is an ancient Greek name for an unknown mythical land far to the North.
Etymology: The name itself means "beyond Boreas (God of the North Wind)." So, it's a land that's beyond all the known borders which the ancient Greeks recognized...
Myth: Hyperborea was supposed to be home to a long lived, giant people whose land enjoyed eternal sunshine!
They supposedly made yearly visits to the main Temple of Apollo in Greece & brought amber as gifts from their homeland...
Apollo supposedly spent the winter months visiting these people.
So, it's no secret that Hyperboria's 'true' location has been argued about for eons - with no real consensus in sight...
Among the locations put forth are the Kazakh Steeple, Scandinavia, Britain, Siberia - even inside the Hollow Earth!
(I'd go with Scandinavia myself, since it enjoys long summer days & is a well known source of honey-like amber. Plus, it's tall inhabitants could have easily been mistaken for 'giants!')

It's always "omg this character is sooo autistic coded 🥰" Until that character has low empathy and/or sympathy, is considered "rude", doesn't understand social cues or vague boundaries, doesn't act stupid, helpless, or weak, or has higher OR lower sensory needs, then suddenly it's a Problem and they Aren't "sooo" autistic coded anymore.
Really goes to show how many people just see autism as this cute quirky trait instead of an actual disability that. yknow. Disables the person who has it.

Pics:
1. Marshall B. Gardner, who proposed scientific arguments to try & prove the Hollow Earth Theory!
2. Gardner's main book, a revised edition that has 400+ more pages added!!
1906: The Earth (is) Not Hollow.
Gardner was a Canadian author & part time inventor who patented a Hollow Earth Globe illustrating continents that might 'exist' on the inner surface of the Earth!
Gardner addresses the problems of accessing the Hollow Earth, given that explorers had already reached both Poles by the time this edition came out.
And, they hadn't seen any of Symmes's gigantic Holes...
Gardner uses scientific explanations for the formation of Hollow Planets, weird warm regions near the Poles, strange auroras, zero gravity, etc.
He then spends a long section to answering responses to the 1st edition.
Finally, Gardner devotes a chapter to an imaginative & enjoyable trip inside the Earth!!
The whole Hollow Planets theory is just an expansion, to other worlds, of his original work.
Weird Sh*t:
1. Jupiter's a world of many wonders. Perhaps the strangest is that this gas giant's core is actually less dense than its outer layers!
2. NASA's MESSENGER space probe discovered strange 'hollows' on the surface of Mercury!! Thousands of depressions, pitted & uneven - all across the planet!
Some are up to a full mile wide & 120 feet deep...

Here's the 5th piece in my Monsterverse Gijinka series, depicting Titanus Kong!
This represents Kong during the events of GxK, so he still bears the scars of his battle against Gojira, and wields his battle axe and his new Beast Glove~
I wanted to go for somewhat of an Iwi look, the warriors of the Skull Island tribe being adorned with yellow markings
I gave him a lone shackle, a reminder of a time when the King was a captive, and to nod to the recurring theme of Kong in chains
Hope you all like this design for the King of the Hollow Earth~
