Rashad and Emma- Season 24
Just like James, watching a male celeb with no prior dance training perform a rumba at this level is truly incredible. Rashad would have you thinking that he had been dancing all his life with a dance like this. Besides the fact that the technique was pretty much flawless, his comfort level was that of someone who has trained in performing before. And again, that balance between the two energies was perfect.

no. I think they tend to come out in spring alot more due to dwts and dwts tour schedule earlier in the season

The worst part of the Loki Season 2 finale is the isolation I feel in the aftermath.
I can't relate to the people calling it perfect and loving it more than any other part of the show.
I can't relate to the people feeling so angry over it they're bitter about everything, hate the creators now, and are begging for a certain writer to come back and fix things even though they've been behind some other really problematic stuff in the Marvel canon.
I can't relate to those who are out here arguing about whether Loki was talking to Mobius or Sylvie at the end and which one of them he loves more. (It's both and at this point people are dumb for even considering otherways, sns.)
Really I can't relate to anyone who only cares about the shipping and nothing else. That's been a huge problem for me in this community where the choices seem to be Loki/Mobius, Loki/Sylvie, or Kang 24/7, but I've been able to massively filter myself whenever I talk to people to pass as whatever I need to in order to communicate with them. That's not something that seems possible after this finale. I think I just wish there were more people who love Loki who are able to be rational about the whole thing instead of flying off the handle, but then again it's Loki who attracts a lot of neurodivergent fans, myself included.
My problem in fandom is I so desperately want to be able to be friends with everyone or at least find some people I can connect with but I'm not enough at anything. I write about this stuff "professionally" but I get overly emotional about it. I'm a fangirl, but I'm above the pettiness that tends to come with that label (gender neutral, because I've seen a lot of folks of other genders be petty af too). I just don't really belong anywhere, and the same applies to the likes of StarKid, DWTS, and pretty much everything else I've loved over the years.

1. How were you introduced to Daniel?
I just barely knew about Daniel before he was announced as a contestant on Season 31 of Dancing with the Stars in 2022, but now I'm a lifelong fan!
2. Moment that made you fall in love with Daniel?
The moment that made me fall in love with Daniel was when he got a sweet and touching message from his CODA mom Marlee Matlin on Good Morning America to promote the then-upcoming season of DWTS!
3. Character you relate to most/have strongest connection with?
Ooh... that's a tough question. I think I'd say maybe Leo, mainly because he's strong, and he loves his family. Plus, how hot is he?
4. Favorite Daniel and Marlee moment?
I can't pick just one.
5. Favorite Daniel & Britt moment?
Literally, all of them! 🤟🏻💙💜🫶🏻💗💕💋😍🥰 ✨️ Team Sign to Shine always and forever ✨️
6. Daniel moment that made you want to give him a hug?
I always feel really bad for Daniel whenever he gets emotional, tears up, and/or starts crying because he's high up there on my hug list, but one that really stuck out to me and still continues to make me really emotional to this day would probably be when he told Britt a really heartbreaking story about how his birth mother left him when he was just a baby and revealed that she tragically passed away from cancer.
7. Favorite character?
All of them for different reasons.

The scene before the song Touch Me.

There are far too many to count. Daniel has 2 of the absolute sweetest moms in the whole world.

That's like choosing between my children. I don't have a favorite because they're all amazing!
15. Favorite Switched at Birth Daniel moment?
Definitely in the series finale when Marlee's character takes Matthew in off the street.
16. Genre/role you'd love to see Daniel take on?
I'd be excited to see him in any role, to be honest, because I'd still be rooting for him even if he was playing a villainous character. It's an unconditional fan love thing, you know.
17. Silliest Daniel moment?
I will never not laugh when Daniel is silly.
18. Cutest Daniel moment?
There are way too many to count or even pick. Daniel is always so cute.
19. What does Daniel mean to you?
Daniel is part of the reason that I chose to major in ASL in college, and I can't imagine my life without him in it.

Happy birthday to the cutest, funniest, most kindhearted person that we're so lucky and grateful to have on this Earth with us, including but not limited to Britt Stewart. DWTS AU Chapter One: Premiere Night!

“Our first couple tonight is a debut pro and her first partner! Find out what happened when young pro dancer Aricka Mitchell met her partner, BAFTA, Teen and People’s Choice Awards winner Bradley Bradshaw….”
~~~~~~~~~ Rehearsal Package Footage~~~~~~~~
“Hi, I’m Aricka Mitchell. I’m 24 years old and this is my first season competing on Dancing With the Stars.” Aricka is sitting on a chair with a camera in front of her. “My parents are DWTS judge Pete Mitchell and former DWTS pro dancer Penny Benjamin-Mitchell. They are the sole reason why I dance today. I do everything to make them proud and I hope to win the Mirrorball Trophy my first year competing.”
The package cuts to show the door opening and Bradley Bradshaw walking in. Aricka claps her hands under her chin and wiggles side to side excitedly, “oh my gosh hi! How are you-!”
“I’m great, it’s nice to finally meet my dance partner,” Bradley immediately offered her a hug which she willingly accepted.
The footage cuts back to Aricka, hands over her face as she stage-screamed, “oh my GOSH, I got Bradley freaking Bradshaw, are you KIDDING me-?! He’s so talented and good looking, I know we’re going to have a blast.”
The footage cuts to Bradley; sitting backwards in his chair as he says, “I’ve watched a few seasons of this show and I knew it was something I wanted to do on my acting bucket list. I’ve seen Aricka dance when she was in the troupe and she just- lights up the ballroom so I can feel we’re going to have a good time this season together.”
Back in the rehearsal room, Aricka asks, “So, how much or little dance experience do you have?”
“I was a main character in the remake of Footloose, so I have that much dance experience. Plus my parents were and are firm believers in spontaneous song and dance parties.”
“Great. We’re going to be the best team this year.”
“And we’re going to win?”
“You know it!” Bradley and Aricka high five and laugh; and then the work began.”
**** jump cut*****
“And one two three- whoa-!” They trip and Aricka braced her arms on Bradley’s shoulders to steady him. “You good?”
“I’ve gotta get this right,” he says. Aricka smiles up at him reassuringly.
“You will. I know you can do this. Let’s try again.”
The footage cuts back to Aricka sitting in her chair, “Bradley has natural talent and charisma, but he gets in his head when it comes to letting himself relax and enjoy the music and not completely get lost in memorizing the steps. But it’s a challenge I enjoy facing, because it means he’s learning.”
Back with Bradley, we see him drag his hands down his face, “so this was a little more challenging than I originally anticipated, but Aricka is a great coach and she doesn’t let me stew too much if I make a mistake, she’s good at being the right mix of encouragement and constructive criticism.”
****jump cut***
“Watch me dance- YES-! Yes you did it-!” Aricka jumps into Bradley’s arms excitedly as he swings her around, “let’s do it one more time to lock it in.” The two of them return to their original position and redo the step Bradley had struggled on, and then the video faded out.

“Dancing the jive with his partner, Aricka Mitchell, it’s Bradley Bradshaw!”
Aricka stood in the center of the ballroom, one arm wrapped around her waist, the other in her hair mussing it playfully. Dua Lipa’s, “Dance the Night,” filled the room with playful music and Aricka flicked her arms out to the beat, and when it came to the, “don't you wanna just come along for the ride?” She motioned to someone in the audience; and Bradley slid out, literally, right to her feet where she pulled him up by his tie, kicking her feet out as he grabbed her hands and spun them both in a circle, and as the song reached the, “That's the moment I shine,” part hit, the spotlight shone down on them as Bradley dipped her with one arm, before pulling her up.
When the chorus hit, the couple exploded, pulling all the stops as they kicked their heels, hands out to the side, before Bradley grabbed Aricka’s hand, spun her twice, and as the chorus ended, hauled her up onto his shoulder as she reached for the ceiling as confetti rained down on them, before he dropped her, gripping her ankle and wrist as she posed for the camera, both of them panting, breathless from the fast paced energy the jive required.
The audience erupted in applause as Bradley helped Aricka stand up, pulling her in for a hug as she whispered an excited and proud, “That was so good!” In his ear. Grinning, he pulled her up into his arms again, carrying her bridal style over to the judges table.
“Wow! That’s how you kick off the season!” Alfonso says. “What a dance! Carrie Anne, we’ll start with you.”
“WOW! That was incredible, you two just set this place on FIRE! Aricka I can’t believe this was your first time choreographing a dance, you’re a natural! Bradley, the trust and care you have for your partner is incredible, it’s hard to believe you two didn’t know each other before this, the chemistry you have is insane! There were a few bobbles here and there but it’s all very fixable, but other than that, way to kick of the season!” Aricka squeezes Bradley’s arm and grins, mouthing the words, “Thank you,” as Bradley nodded.
The audience cheers as Alfonso says, “Pete; judge your daughter.”
Pete grinned as proudly as ever as he began, “what can I say other than that you, Aricka, are right where you belong. You have such a confident stage presence and I saw you before the dance even started helping Bradley focus and ground himself before the music began. This is the start of a dynamic relationship and I can’t wait to see where it takes you both.” Then he walks out from behind the table and quickly hugs his daughter to the delight of the audience as Aricka tried not to cry.
“Derek, it’s your turn.”
“I’m going to echo my fellow judges and say ARICKA, welcome to the pro ballroom girl! Like Bradley said in his package, you lit up this ballroom and made it your home. Bradley, I gotta confess, you’re a tall guy so I was a little nervous about that when it came to this dance but my man, you can DANCE! There’s a few things that need polished but like Carrie Anne said, it’s all fixable. Great job.” Aricka laughs and blows a kiss at Derek who pretended to catch it and hold it to his heart.
“Bruno?”
“Oh, someone call the fire department, because these two just set this place on FIRE! Aricka my darling welcome to the ballroom, I am so pleased by this choreography. Bradley, you have been holding out on us darling, you never showed us you could dance LIKE THAT-! The way you two moved, it was watching a scene from a romantic comedy, where the two main characters just met for the first time. Very wonderful the both of you, just fix those fine details and you’ll be golden.” Aricka and Bradley both laugh as Aricka leans her head on Bradley’s shoulder as he squeezes her arm.
“All glowing remarks from the judges. Alright you two: head on up to the skybox for your results!”
Bradley and Aricka beamed at each other as they grabbed each other’s hands and ran toward the stairs leading to the skybox.
“Aricka! It’s so good to see you up here as a PRO DANCER and not just a member of the troupe! How does it feel?”Julianne hugs the girl she saw a a mentee figure proudly.
Aricka laughs and leans against Bradley again, “Well I got a really good partner this year and it feels so incredible, Bradley puts his trust in me every day and I just want to honor that trust.”
“And she does,” Bradley says; and nobody in the audience or watching live could deny that the man had hearts for pupils in that moment.
“So; Bradley how different is this dance from what you know from Footloose?” Julianne asks.
“It has its similarities and its differences, but Aricka is super patient and takes the time to explain every new step we do together, I feel very fortunate to have been made her partner this season,” Bradley says.
“Alright, now let’s see those scores!” They turn to see the results:
“Carrie-Anne Inaba!”
“A fiery start to the season, it’s a 7!” Aricka wiggled and stomps her feet excitedly.
“Pete Mitchell!”
“Beautiful debut dance, it’s a 7!” Bradley grins and squeezes Aricka’s shoulder encouragingly.
“Derek Hough.”
“Way to kick things off, another 7!” Aricka’s jaw drops and she looks up at her partner proudly; and Bradley beams down at her.
“Bruno Tonioli!”
“Wonderful way to begin the show; that’s a 7!” Was proclaimed with a flourish. Aricka squeals and jumps into Bradley’s arms and he spins her around again,
“So proud of you!” She exclaimed.
“Right back at you, coach,” was said warmly.
And thus began a beautiful journey of love through dancing.

Dancing with the Stars Season 4 Week 5: Rewatch
Ian and Cheryl- Samba (Judges' Score=24, My Score=9)- This has been Ian's best dance by far. I felt his confidence. He had nice hip action. He really loosened up a lot. I think this was probably his breakthrough performance. His feet were a little more stompy than I would've liked and the dance wasn't as smooth as it could've been. But, he really did a great job. And I just have to say that I miss these days of DWTS. The focus on the performance quality and the technique of each celeb was so much higher than it is now. They focus so much on the production value nowadays that the actual dancing gets lost. Productions are nice, but should come as a plus to the good dancing. The dance should not be carried by the production.
Clyde and Elena- Rumba (Judges' Score=13, My Score=5)- Okay, so here. It was just too carefully placed. I could see all over Clyde's face that he was really trying to prove that he was trying to do the dances correctly and all of that. I'm glad Len recognized that and also realized that he was probably a bit too harsh the previous week. But as a result of that, I just felt like the dance lacked a lot of the charm that Clyde's dances usually have. And honestly, the rumba was probably the one dance Clyde just could not figure out. He had heel leads everywhere. There was virtually no hip action except at the beginning. His hands were lifeless. It just wasn't great. I'm glad Elena spoke about the "lift" and pointed out that it wasn't supposed to be that, but Clyde is so tall that sometimes things go awry.
Heather and Jonathan- Samba (Judges' Score=21, My Score=7)- I liked this a lot. It actually is my favorite dance of Heather's. I feel like she showed a lot of personality throughout. I thought her legs were especially impressive outside of a few moments. I agree that the top half of her body is what she needs to work the most on. It lacks the strength and the finesse that she needs to take her to the next level. But I really did enjoy this a lot.
Joey and Kym- Rumba (Judges' Score=25, My Score=9)- So first of all, I think this is the best look I've ever seen Kym have on the show. And that's no shade. Kym was breathtaking. I had to snap myself back into the whole dance and watching Joey. Red is your color girl. Whew. Anyway, I thought it was a really good dance. I can kinda see what the judges were seeing about it being too feminine, but I wouldn't use that word. I would use overperforming, like CAI said. Things were a little off in his shapes, his technique and even on his side of the partnerwork with Kym.
John and Edyta- Samba (Judges' Score=18, My Score=5)- I did not know that John used to be a drummer. That explains why he seems to have so much musicality and rhythm when it's usually people like him (older white men) that tend to struggle the most with musicality and rhythm. Now this dance proved why the samba is so hard. The difficulty of the technique made it hard for him to really settle into the dance like I would've liked. He had fun, but he never truly settled into the dance. He's had better, but it wasn't his worst.
Laila and Maks- Rumba (Judges' Score=28, My Score=10)- This is another one of my favorite dances ever performed on this show. So I'm loving that I get to blog about it in this way. Now I tried so hard to find something wrong with this dance, but there was nothing. She was sexy. It was elegant. I loved the hip action. Her feet were placed so well. Her arms were gorgeous. The connection was amazing. The performance was incredible. This should've been the first perfect score of the season. Not saying that the first one didn't deserve it. Because Apolo definitely deserved. But this deserved too. Sorry for stanning so hard, but this dance is really top tier to me.
Apolo and Julianne- Samba (Judges' Score=30, My Score=10)- Like I said. I think this dance definitely deserved the score it got. These two came out and DEVOURED the samba. Julianne did an amazing job with the choreography. And Apolo put on a top notch performance. His hips were spot on. He fixed the sliding issue. It was clean and precise. Just yes.
Billy Ray and Karina- Rumba (Judges' Score=17, My Score=5)- Mm. Okay. So he stepped the whole thing and there was no hip action. He really didn't move and the moving he did do was kinda hard to watch. Loved his arms though. I thought those were the best part of the dance by far. I don't like how they're grading him on a curve though. Billy Ray is great. I like him. He sucks as a dancer and is on the same level as Clyde and I wish they would stop using perceived dedication as a way to differentiate the two of them. Neither of them are great and both had pretty bad nights with very similar problems.

So the bottom 2 were Clyde and Heather. I don't think Heather should've been there, but Clyde definitely should've been. And I think he was the right choice to go home. I did see improvement from him throughout the competition and I saw the effort. I just wish the judges would stop using a laidback attitude as a way to say someone doesn't care. I voiced a lot of my other issues with this night already, so I won't go further. But what I will say is that this has been one of my favorite nights to rewatch and review. Between seeing two of my favorite dances back to back and watching Heather and Ian come into their own and really start to blossom and Joey just being an all around good entertainer, it was a good night of dancing. I'm enjoying this season and I'm remembering why I still hold it so high to this very day. Let me know your thoughts and I will talk to you all soon.

#v sad jojo siwa did not win dwts#partly because she def deserved it I think her growth was the best on the show personally#and also like... because you know they’re not gonna have a same sex couple for at LEAST a year now#and it’ll probably be a double guy couple bc you know they won’t do this every season#so it’ll probably be several YEARS before we see two women dance together on the show again#and it’s like... I wanted to see this happen when I was in middle school#I finally got to see it at 24#but now that we’ve made this progress how long will it take to see it again?#bc they were really playing up the first same sex couple thing... now that they’ve done it once it won’t bring as much hype I don’t think#but those are my thoughts#feels bad fam
