having a big reveal to the audiences being that will and mike were actually in love with each other this whole time in s5 is a great strategy to keep the show’s hype even after it ends. the show’s coming to a close so for those that hate it won’t ever have to watch again, but it will make others want to rewatch from the beginning to pick up on the subtle clues, while knowing what they’re getting themselves into. i can see the reason why they’re trying to make it more of a “surprise” than having it be laid out and acknowledged in a clear way, hence the odd script behavior, not much press with finn and noah to deter certain questions, and the unseen footage about mike & will. like think about the convenient potential paired with the duffers love for using flashbacks..

I want season5 to just be "Monster Hunters Guide to Finding Vecna" as the cast tries to navigate the newly merged upsidedown/real world combo, running into the monsters Nancy described in her vision, and battling through different things.
I want Joyce and Hopper to fight something inside the ruins of Enzos. I want a desperate run to the hospital to get/protect Max.
I want a reveal that Eddie somehow lived (ie Owen's people or some weird upside-down magic like Eleven).
I want actual carnage where parts of the main cast die and stay dead.
I want the parents of the kids to join in and help; I want Karen to team up with Joyce, I want Mike's dad to grab a gun and help the kids to safety, I want Lucas' parents to find Max's mom and help protect Max in the hospital, I want Dustin's mom to join the milf squad (and comfort her son who just lost a significant male figure in his life).
I want the police to see that Jim is alive and actually fucking help for once. I want them to protect people, to sacrifice themselves, to do something.
If the upside down has spread to our world, they better give us the journey of a fucking lifetime to make up for vol2.

Can we get a Stonathan Bromance?
If the Duffers want to do a roundabout back-where-we-started thing with S5, we're going to have similar groupings: Mike, Will, Lucas, and Dustin; Nancy and Jonathan and Steve; Joyce and Hopper. El and Max can be together, and Robin and Argyle can bond pls.
I want Steve and Jonathan and Nancy to be friends. I hate love triangles with my heart, body, mind, and soul. I don't want that.
I want Steve to save Jonathan's life. I want "you know, you're not *that* bad" and "you're not awful either". I want Jonathan to see how much Steve has grown. I want Steve to see why Nancy chose Jonathan.
I want THIS to be the finish line for Steve's character arc.
Not Nancy as a prize: Nancy knows he's changed.
JONATHAN doesn't believe it. JONATHAN never liked Steve. Steve was a dick to JONATHAN specifically. He was bad to Nancy when she was with JONATHAN.
If Jonathan knows he's changed, then Steve's character development is finally complete.
And with Jonathan finally seeing Steve, comes Steve finally seeing Jonathan.
Seeing a man just trying to protect his mum, his brother. Seeing how far this man has gone to protect his family.
And we all know how Steve can relate to that.

Okay but hear me out:
A Stranger Things spin off series where they play Dungeons and Dragons. Like at first the Hellfire Club is sitting at a table, getting ready to start playing and then the world shifts around them and suddenly they are in another reality, portrayig their characters (just imagine joe quinn dressed as joe keery the cat person, i aM WHEEZING). They would just go on adventures together, explore the world, defeat demogorgons and vecna. Every epsiode could also be a new campain and the next time the adults are playing or something like that. What do you guys think???

I figure how Will can defeat Vecna. Henry told El that he uses a memory to increase his power, a memory that makes him sad and angry. That memory, whatever it is, is Vecna's fuel. He uses it to feed his rage, to become powerful. If Max's soul is inside his mind, she could somehow help El to sneak in, so they both could find that memory. We all know that El found a happy memory of Bill, maybe with Max, or maybe Max herself could find this bad memory of Henry. And if Will has power to change reality or something like that, he could change that said memory into something less sad and more happy, to heal Vecna's old wound and therefore make him less powerful (would time travel be needed here? Dunno). And If at the same time the gang with Max's help could release all souls, Vecna would become powerless.

if kali "made an illusion so realistic she was able to escape hawkins lab as a kindergartener, wants to punish the people that made her life hell, helped el better understand herself and her powers, is literally eleven's first/oldest friend and sister" doesn't show up to beat henry "makes illusions of trauma so vivid that make you want to die" at his own game in s5 i am pulling up outside the duffer residences with a sawed off shotgun for a very normal conversation

i think the duffer brothers should hire me as a writing consultant. not for the lore stuff they can do all the lore action stuff. but like for character interactions.
i don’t think the duffer brothers know how real people work. i do. let me approve of and suggest stuff for any and all character interactions.
my agenda: make ronance canon, eddie’s alive and well he never died we just aren’t gonna address anything that happened in the finale eddie is very much alive. the whole town thinks justin did the murders. steddie canon. mileven break up. byler canon. will actually says the word gay. nancy and steve are besties, but NOT lovers. eddie never died. eddie never died. eddie never died. he never ran out into the swarm of bats cos that makes no sense?? also there are actual stakes for the characters now. cos why does everyone in the main cast have plot armor. BUT WHY NOT EDDIE I THOUGHT HE WAS A GOOD ADDITION TO THE MAIN CAST!! also making sure max has actual consequences from almost dying because if she didn’t, which let’s face it she probably won’t if i am not hired as a writing consultant, but if she doesn’t have consequences (like blindness, severely damaged something) what was the point.

thinking thoughts. nothing but ronance thoughts.
like can you imagine? the final battle is over and nancy sees robin - sees that she’s alive. she runs towards her, throwing herself into the safe embrace of her arms. sobs as she strokes over her cheeks, beyond relieved that she’s alive. she checks her face from all angles, making sure she’s truly okay. “nancy” robin says. “nancy!” trying to get her attention. but nancy is too busy, making sure robin is okay. her robin. finally, as their eyes meet, nancy sees it. sees what she should have seen forever ago. sees love, sees passion, sees the person she is meant to be with. and this time she isn’t scared. she welcomes the feelings rather than running away from them. finally, nancy wheeler kisses robin buckley.
hire me, duffer brothers 🤭🤭

the duffers should hire me to write season five actually i bet i could do it better
like heres what i’m thinking for the first episode
el: mike, i love you but it is not the right kind of love. i think it would be a good idea for us to breakup.
mike: i totally agree el, wow! this is so mutual and healthy of us.
el: great! also i did not commission a painting from will, so you might want to sort yourself out with that one. don’t forget to tell him you jumped off the quarry at one point, now go kiss my brother and good luck!

With all these time jumps and shenanigans what if volume 2's gonna end with Mike and El breaking up healthily, deciding not to meet again for a while then we'll get Mike's monologue about how he doesn't know yet what love is that maybe he's still young and shit and that he's discovering himself then Will, he'd reject Will, he would say they're friends (“But we're cool right?” Mike would say, “Friends?” Will would smile, a little hurt but happy, contented, “Best friends”) but we'll see Mike conflicted. We'll see him subtly flustered and flushed cause maybe for the first time after a long time, it's finally clear. Will likes him. Will Byers is in love with him. And Mike might have some kind of realization or maybe he'd see Will in a different light and maybe we'll get a scene where Mike would look at Will's painting for him and he'd blush and shy away, and he'd hang it on his wall, staring at it with tender emotional music playing in the background then maybe it'll end with him saying he doesn't really know what's gonna happen next and that maybe we'll find out or something like that.
Then in season 5 either Vecna or a new villain would arise again and attack Hawkins and then we'll see the squad assemble again (Hence the time jump!) and then after a long time, Mike and El would meet again, El would smile at him and they'd acknowledge each other as friends then Mike's eye would catch Will and part 2 of the airport scene would happen but this time, with more underlying feelings unsaid. AND THEN WHAT IF WE GET A SCENE WHERE WILL WOULD BE LOOKING AT A D&D BOARD GAME AND MIKE WOULD APPROACH HIM AND ASK “Do you still remember how to play this one?” AND WILL WOULD REPLY WITH A SMALL SHY SMILE “How could I forget?” AND AND okay that's enough
The Duffer brothers should hire me as a writer for real or somebody should write this as a fic or something thank you.

For me Jonathan dying makes way more sense than Steve dying.
I think a large part of Dustin's arc is not losing his other big brother figure. It would be so cruel to lose Steve after Eddie, and it's predictable because everyone wants him dead since s1. It would also be great for Steve to overcome his self sacrificial tendencies, overall I just don't think Steve dying makes sense after Eddie.
Now with Jonathan, he is very close to Will and El, which are the main targets for Vecna. He would also sacrifice himself for his family, especially Will. Plus he didn't have much of an arc since s1 really, getting to be the hero in s5 makes sense for him.
In general I don't think main character will die, Stranger Things isn't the show for that.
Yeah, okay I see your point.
Jonathan’s kinda been a tagalong for the past two seasons, so my mind didn't immediately go to him being the one that dies. But it honestly makes alot of sense.
Stranger Things has killed atleast ONE decently important character each season, in helping the crew to get to where they are in their assumptions of how to kill the big bad, or what's happening in general(Hopper doesn't count)
Barb's death being the one to introduce Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve to the upside down(And later Murray after being hired by her parents.)
Bob being the one to figure out how to tunnels connect and work, where the base(or heart) is.
Alexei was the one who was working with the Russians, told Hopper, Murray, and Joyce about Planck's Constance.
And Eddie was the one to witness some of the Vecna murders, and tell the group about him being back. Meeting him at Skull Rock also helped them figure out the gates opening too.
All people who have had at least one big purpose before going out with a bang.
Jonathans been on the downlow, this season and season two at least, season three he helped as a getaway driver and being with Nancy at the hospital.
Each character has had their big arc and he's been waiting for his.
If it's not him or Steve though, there's a chance they'll just bring in another brand new shiny character though to kill off.
I doubt the Duffer Brothers will kill nobody off.

There's nothing that I'd like more than both Chrissy and Eddie coming back and getting their fairytale ending in ST, or at least meeting again. But Grace supports Palestine - which is the right thing to do -, Ross Duffer signed that pro-Israel letter to Biden and actors who speak against the genocide are losing opportunities. I don't have so much hope.
The hard cold truth of Hollywood is that they’ll hire whoever they think will bring them the most money—regardless of whether they support Palestine or not. If there is a large enough public wave of outcry and demands to support Palestine, Hollywood will backtrack all Israel shows of support or at least keep it very, very quiet. If public opinion sways towards supporting Israel, Hollywood will pretend to follow in suit. Hollywood doesn’t care. They care just about money. (For the record, I am anti-war in all cases. I want Hamas to disappear, I want Palestinians to live peacefully without violence from Israel, I want the Israeli military to face justice and accountability for their crimes of genocide and rape, I want Israeli civilians caught in the crosshairs to be safe, their kidnapped families returned, their 10/7 victims of rape and murder to be believed and fully condemn the Israeli government for committing the most heinous of war crimes, much like the US did after 9/11 and I refuse to participate in any antisemitism used to try and liberate Palestine—liberation for Palestine is inextricably tied to the safety and protection of the Jewish people.)
The fact of the matter is, I have zero faith in the Duffer brothers as writers. I know what I would do for season 5 (I wouldn’t bring back the tired dead love triangle of Steve/Jonathan/Nancy, I’ll tell you that much). Despite the wave of support for Barb, her character never returned (though I’m still gunning for a flayed version of Barb to fuck with Nancy a little bit).
What I’m trying to say here is I don’t actually care what happens in season 5, because whatever dumb or good writing they do, I’m going to get a flobbityjillion fic ideas from it. I win either way. Would I love more Hellcheer content? Totally. Do I expect it? Nah. Does that matter to me? Not at all. Cuz I’m just going to do whatever I want and hopefully I can come up with some even crazier rare pairs…

(1/3) Joseph Quinn's character. During an interview, the Duffer Brothers admitted that they hired Joseph for the role of Eddie Munson because he didn't make the character too menacing. Other actors wanted the character to be scary, but that's not what Joseph wanted to do. "Anyone that presents themselves as incredibly unapproachable and distant is acting that way as a defense mechanism, right? We all have periods in our lives where we’re protecting ourselves. In your adolescence, you’re doing th

Joseph Quinn understood the assignment! I loooove that he looked deeper into this character, saw what was underneath the surface; instead of just having him be this flat, black and white character, with zero depth. I hate that Joseph made me love Eddie Munson so goddamn much because it hurts now that he's gone but I'm also so happy that we got to have him for as long as we did. Eddie is one of the best they've had on this show and I really hope they know that! Everyone say "thank you, Joseph Quinn!"

Not the anon who first asked for st fic rec’s but I’d love some steddie ones if you’ve got any faves!
Yes I do! I can rec some under the cut! There's a little summary and some commentary by me with each of them as well to help !
the most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway is that it's you - Fic set in 2002 where Steve is a guidance counselor, Eddie is a rockstar and they both witness a wedding, a death and a birth. (Hands down, my favorite Steddie fic. It takes you on a range of emotions and it's wonderfully written. Heads up though: This one can get real SAD.)
Flight Risk - Eddie is a famous, troubled rockstar and Steve is his bodyguard hired to keep him under control (This one is technically a WIP still with one chapter left to go but it's good. I love how Ayes wrote both of them in this one. Worth the read.)
Soda Burn - Eddie and Steve are both bartenders working in the same bar and well, you know what happens... (Kind of enemies to lovers which everyone seems to love that trope, so... Also, love how Eddie was written in this one. He's a charmer.)
Of Kings and Cult-Leaders - Dustin convinces Steve to host Eddie's DND campaign (This one is literally just cute and sweet. I couldn't stop smiling. Read it.)
sub-culture - Steve is oblivious and thinks that Eddie now hates him and you know what happens... (This one is so good. It's like a queer history lesson and a fic in one. Also, this writer wrote the 80's era so well too. I loved it.)
smoke signal - Steve is a farmer, Eddie is an outlaw who always finds his way back to Steve (We love the longing and the passing of time [in this context]... I'll leave this one at that.)
Thunderstruck - Steve is a college football player who has a crush on his dorky classmate Eddie (I saw the word 'football' in the description of this one and immediately clicked the link like the stupid joth I am... It has pining and it's friends to FWB to lovers kind of... I enjoyed it.)
tell me that it's not my fault (tell me that i'm all you want) - Eddie almost dies and Steve leaves him a voicemail saying how he feels thinking he died (This one is just sweet and feels like it could have been canon compliant if the Duffer Brothers weren't cowards, but that might just be me...)
put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature - Steve is a preacher's son and Eddie tests his faith (Like, the author said: Religious angst. That is all. If you read the infamous UHV, you MIGHT like this one, but I don't know...)
what a match, i'm half-doomed and you're semi-sweet - It has milkshakes. it has weed. It has two idiots and Robin. (Would be lying if I said that the FOB lyric title didn't draw me into this one and I'm glad it did. This one is also cute.)
my way, your way (anything goes) - Set in 1988, Eddie runs away from Hawkins and is a rockstar now and Steve sees him and feelings happen. (We love reunions and pining in this house. Also, this one has flashbacks from the past to the present, so it gets a little confusing, but you catch on pretty quick I think.)
Keep It for Me - Set mostly in 1993, Steve attends a wedding and an unexpected guest that no one has seen in years crashes it (I literally saw '93 and was like, "That's the year I was born!" and clicked on it, no joke LMAO. There's pining. There's tenderness. It's sweet.)
There are some of my favorites! Thanks for asking! :)
