That's right, announced two days before the Season starts! Say hi to:
Triple Splashdown!
No, I am not joking. Splashdown, infamously the worst Special in Splatoon 2, returns, this time with two fists of ink that create additional explosions, even if you splat the user while in the air.
(also, if you pay attention to this video, you'll notice that the Zone in Bluefin Depot's Splat Zones layout seems to be moving. Neat!)
The fists themselves can also be shot down, just like the user, but the addition of extra targets means that it's much more likely you'll either survive or get splats, as opposed to the original Splashdown where you'd just get shot down and achieve nothing.
As is the norm, two kits have this new Special, the first of which is the Enperry Dualies, which also have Curling Bomb
While the second is Custom Blaster, which round their kit out with Point Sensor.
And with that, I believe that's all of the new weapons this Season, especially since they've now also officially shown off all the new Tableturf cards.
Is it just me, or are these stylized to look like youtube thumbnails?
We have obtained a video of the Douser Dualies being used.
Compared to other maneuvers, the slide moves a long distance, but can only be done once at a time. Also, although the high-speed continuous firing after the slide is powerful, it also consumes a lot of ink. It seems important to time the rush.
I鈥檝e been learning how to play with chargers recently (specifically Z+F splat charger) and playing reg turf war to practice.
Let me tell you, nothing funnier & more intense than finding another (clearly also new) charger user and facing off against them.
We both were VERY silly & not only were face-to-face doing close quarter combat, but also shooting & missing each other until one of us fell in the water..
