I recolored the ends, wash day of course (every 4 wks) and retwist!!! All by myself. GO ME!!! I created a new spray for my hair and oil...

ROSEMARY Oil added a bit of tea tree oil and Jamaican black castor oil... plus I created some lavender water from lavender to spray... and now I'm headed to the store for more rosemary to infuse with the lavender❤️❤️

wooo hello everybody ! looong time no see i’m sorry for the shitty posting schedule i haven’t posted here since about april but i’ve been posting regularly on my hair instagram if u wanna see what’s been up ! now my 20th birthday was yesterday and my locs are also now 11 months old ! :D i’m so thankful for every day that i live and see and smell and grow ! i had the best birthday ever and there’s many more to come. Also y’all my hair is like officially shoulder length ! i looove it it feels like a fresh silk press all the time cause last time my hair was straightened it was about the length it is now that it’s locd which is such growth ! i put some pictures from month 1 at the bottom to compare !

Kwanzaa Kujichagulia 2023

This Kwanzaa we will focus on empowering yourself, reconnecting with your community, and learning survival skills from your ancestors. Do not allow the word “ancestor” to scare you. This society forces you to learn traditions and ancestors that are not yours like Santa, the tooth fairy, Halloween, 4th of July and so forth. If you are willing to celebrate those things then why not your own people?

Today is Kujichagulia, so we light the red candle to symbolize the blood that pumps life and self-determination through our veins. Umoja reminded us that we must stick together in order to create a bright future, however today we will place all of our focus on ourselves. If we are not properly aligned with our emotions and actions, it opens a door that can cause harm to our community.

New Year Resolution

Most people change their environment, acquaintances and lifestyle during the new year, but that is actually the worst time to do so. Firstly, why would you wait for a specific month to change things that need to be changed right now? Secondly, your mindset is being served on a silver platter. You do not know what the future holds! Your ancestors had to live their day-to-day based on starving, sleeping outside, constant walking, fighting and fleeing wild animals, while your daily concern is if your food is too cold from the microwave.

Nature

Why is your new year resolution during the season of death? No wonder it never comes true. If you truly want to do a new year resolution it should be in spring when nature finishes its rebirth cycle. Death is necessary so don’t get gloomy about it because without it we wouldn’t have space for anything new. You may not be sleeping next to bears at night anymore but you can surely improve other things like your concentration, discernment, observation, balance, temper, empathy, speech, and confidence.

Technology

Put your phone, remote and laptop down. Most people spend hours on social media feeding themselves garbage. There is no reason why you should know more information about celebrities than your own skills in life. Technology is cool but it shouldn’t dictate your entire life. Besides, you should enjoy what’s left of nature and freedom before it’s attempted to be stripped away from us, again.

30th Birthday Photoshoot

This was my first time taking pictures in 12 years. All I could think when I saw the photos the first time was “You made it. You’re still here”. 12 years ago I was fresh to the world. I was young, naive, and ignorant to so many things.

Today, I have been shaped by so many experiences. Some extraordinary and some I didn’t think I would make it out of but look at God. I’m still in this thang 😜

The woman in these photos is filled with self confidence, love, wisdom, peace. She pours, she overflows into others. She heals because I know how it feels to walk around with open wounds. She deserves everything the world and the heavens have for her.

I’m embracing my next.
