8 and 12 for ask game 👀👀
8. What's the most fun and least fun parts of your process?
For me I'd definitely say that I like filling stuff in with pencil or pen. It's just a nice feeling. The sketch phase is definitely a lot of fun cause it's more free form.
The least fun part is when I fix up the rough sketch and try to get the proportions right. Sometimes it can be a bit frustrating to make the pose look more natural.
12. Show us an old drawing
Tumblr media
Not my oldest, but this one is about 4 or 5 years old. The drawing is of three of my OCs from the time.

@dooshek the second veggie burger scene for the ask game.
Tucker wrinkled his nose in disgust, grabbing the napkin next to him and spitting the half chewed mush into it. He took a thick swallow of his chocolate shake. "You are doing nothing to change my mind on the matter."
"Oh come on!" Sam protested, throwing her hands into the air. "That was one of the best fake meat replacements on the market right now. It tastes exactly like beef."
Tucker crossed his arms. "You may be an expert in suspicious plant based meat replacements, but you are no expert in good beef. Or any beef. Or any other meat."
"And I take pride in that fact," Sam interrupted.
"No matter how much pride you take, it still makes me the expert on meat. And I still say that none of these plant based scientists have ever tasted meat in their whole lives."
"They totally have! Why else would they be making these replacements?"
"They totally haven't! How else could they say this," Tucker poked the not beef patty with his fork, "tastes like meat?"
"Have you tried thinking about happy cow faces while eating it?" Sam suggested. "It might make it taste better when you consider that every bite you take isn't soaked in the blood of an innocent animal."
"Have you ever watched Veggie Tales?" Tucker shot back. "Those vegetables have faces! How are you supposed to eat a cucumber when its Larry's cousin!"
Sam threw her hands in the air in anger. "No I haven't seen veggie tales, I'm Jewish! And even if I had, its a cartoon! Cartoons aren't real."
Tucker opened his mouth to add a rebuttal, but was cut off before he could do so. "I'm sorry," the waitress, a shorter, petite woman with short hair said. "But if you're going to keep fighting like that, I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
Tucker glanced around the restaurant they were sitting in, catching Sam doing the same. A number of the surrounding tables were staring at them, with others make a point to not stare at them. He felt his face heat up slightly in embarrassment.
Sam, of course, had abandoned the concept of embarrassment sometime in high school, and had no issues with defending herself. "We weren't fighting, we were debating, there's a difference," she pointed out. "But we understand. We'll keep it down."
The waitress gave a tired, strained smile at both of them. "We appreciate it, thank you."
The two sat there for a moment, watching the waitress walk to another table, before turning back to each other and giggling, Tucker mostly with embarrassment. "I feel like we should have seen this coming," Tucker said, his voice much more hushed than it had been before.
"Considering this is like, the 3rd time? Yea, probably," Sam said.
"Next time, I'm choosing the date spot."
"Only if you admit that the patty was good," Sam argued. At Tucker's glare, she laughed a full laugh. "I'm kidding." Tucker couldn't help but laugh along.

BUT i will also ask for everlasting trio >:)
"Okay, look." Danny sucked in a long breath. "I've thought about this long and hard, right? And you know, I really don't think I want to do this, soooo, now that I've come to that decision, we can just call this good, yeah?"
Sam scoffed. "Fat chance, Fenton. You're doing this whether you like it or not. Quit being such a baby."
"You just gotta relax!" Tucker said, clapping a hand on Danny's shoulder. "It's really not as bad as it seems."
"You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding. This is, like, more dangerous than fighting Plasmius, the Ghost King, and - I don't know, Clockwork all at the same time!"
"Why would you be fighting Clockwork?"
"You do remember he tried to kill him the first time we met him?" Sam asked apathetically. "I'm getting tired of this. You've got one more chance before I come up there and manhandle you into doing this, ghost boy."
Danny balked, turning paler than normal. "You guys don't get it! I'm just -" He snapped his mouth shut as he realized he'd been about to spill something he very much did not want to spill.
Unfortunately for him, Tucker and Sam knew him too well. They stuck him each with their own look of suspicion. "You're just what?" Tucker asked.
But Danny didn't answer. Instead, he slouched in on himself, folding into a position Jazz would surely give him an earful of a lecture on the importance of good posture if she saw him like this. "It's nothing," he grumbled. "You two would just laugh."
Though he didn't see it, Tucker and Sam exchanged a look. Sam's face softened from utter irritation to mild disdain as she saw the pitiful puppy-dog face Tucker was giving her. Seriously? she asked with her eyes.
Yes, seriously! He needs this.
I don't want to coddle him!
It's not coddling, it's called supporting our boyfriend in his time of need.
Sam let loose a loud sigh. "We're not gonna laugh at you, Danny. If it really means that much to you."
Danny cast them a sidelong look. "Right. Because you sound so genuine about it."
"C'mon, you know she means it," Tucker prodded gently. "She's just being her sassy Sam self."
"Hey!"
"If there's something on your mind," he continued, ignoring Sam's protest, "we want to hear it. That's what we're here for."
"There's a reason we love you, dork," she said, a smile finally crossing her face as she punched Danny lightly in the arm.
Danny couldn't help but crack a tiny grin of his own. "You promise you won't laugh?"
"Mmm, within reason."
He sighed and somehow slouched into his seat further. "I'm... scared, alright? I'm scared of this."
Sam laughed.
Immediately, Danny whirled around to face her, eyes blazing. "You promised!"
"Sorry, sorry!" she said between giggles. "Okay, sorry. For real. But seriously, what's there to be scared of? It can't be any scarier than flying, and you do that all the time."
"It's way scarier than flying! At least when I'm flying I have control! How am I supposed to have control over this?"
"That's the point of practicing," Tucker said. "So that way you do have control. Like I said, it's really not that bad once you get the hang of it."
"You won't know till you try," Sam taunted in a sing-song voice.
Danny's eyes flickered back and forth between his partners. Tucker wore his heart on his sleeve often enough for him to know he meant his words. Sam preferred to hide behind a mask of indifference and righteous indignation, but she couldn't hide her true feelings from him after so many years.
"Fine," he grumbled, sitting up. "I'll try. And I'm sure I'll regret it."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ten minutes later, the three sat with pale faces and clenched fists.
"How. Did you manage. To do that?" Sam whispered in bewilderment.
Danny's hands refused to let go of their hold. "I tried to tell you!"
Tucker shook visibly. "I thought you were exaggerating when you said you drive worse than your dad!"
"How could I possibly exaggerate that?"
Sam's poor little Impala sat perfectly nestled at an angle, straddled between two of the dumpsters behind the Nasty Burger. The little blob ghost clan who had claimed the dumpsters as their home had come out to investigate the commotion and were currently cuddling up to the three shell-shocked teens, chirping in an effort to calm them down.
"I want to know how you always forget you literally have the power to turn intangible!" Sam punctuated her statement with another punch to Danny's arm, this one harder than the last.
"Well, excuse me! I'd like to see you try to remember that sort of thing when you're in the heat of the moment!"
"I really can't believe that somehow, Danny Fenton is a worse driver than his dad," Tucker whistled, unfazed by the argument happening to his side.
Two of the blob ghosts, Jeff and Ketchup, glanced at each other from their spot squished against Danny's stomach before returning to their cuddle session. Nothing really out of the ordinary when these three were involved.

GRAY GHOST 41
~ 41. kisses to shut them up (aka the challenge to write the shortest smooch drabble) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Hey. Hey, Valerie. Valerie.”
“... yes, Danny?”
“What do sweet potatoes wear to bed?”
Valerie’s hand clenched around the ice pack in her hand. Deep breaths, Gray. You love him. You don’t want to strangle him. “I don’t know, Danny,” she said with a sigh.
“They wear yammies! Yammies! That’s hilarious!” He proceeded to demonstrate this by quite literally rolling around, laughing like a hyena. Only in midair, not on the floor.
The ice pack exploded.
Two. Hours.
Two whole hours of nonstop, terrible puns. All thanks to the concussion Skulker had so kindly given him.
She’d have his metal hide by the end of all this.
“Oh! Oh! Valerie! Guess what?”
“No, we’re done with this.” She pulled him back down onto the couch, albeit with a little more force than intended. Annoyed as she was, she didn’t want to hurt him.
“But I want you to guess what one plant said to the other?”
Where did she leave her stupid phase-proof rope again? She could’ve sworn she’d brought it into the living room with her. “I don’t know, Danny.”
“It said, ‘Girl, you got me growing!’ Ha!” Danny devolved into another fit of laughter.
She loved the sound of his laughter, she really did. And to see him so easily entertained was… somewhat endearing. But did it have to come at the risk of her sanity?
“Waitwaitwait!” He stopped suddenly, eyes impossibly wide. “I got another one! What did - mmph!”
One benefit to being a girl: knowing exactly how to shut her guy up.
What better way than a kiss?
Satisfied, she pulled back. “Now, are you gonna lay down and behave?”
Danny nodded mutely, a dreamy smile blooming on his face. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ Send me a ship and a number from this ask game and I'll write a drabble or draw a sketch!

PITCH PEARL 47
~ 47. feather-light kisses ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phantom had barely finished phasing through the wall before he started to speak. "Fenton, Fenton!" he gasped, despite his lack of a need for breath. "You'll never believe it! The Box Ghost and the Lunch Lady! Did you know they're -"
He cut himself short at the sight of Fenton, illuminated only by his desk lamp, slumped over at his desk and fast asleep with his open history textbook as a pillow. In spite of the little pool of drool forming over a portrait of James Madison, Phantom's core stuttered at the sight.
How was it that even in the middle of his sleep, Fenton still managed to render him speechless?
Although Fenton had most certainly been awake when he'd left. Had he really been out that long?
Apparently so, if the alarm clock was accurate. 1:28 stared back at him accusingly, as if to try and rub it in that he'd abandoned Fenton for nearly four hours, whether intentional or not. Guilt hit him like a brick wall.
He floated over to the human without a sound. Although he reached out to shake Fenton awake and try to persuade him to sleep on his bed rather than his desk, he stopped himself just short for the second time in as many minutes. His eyes came to rest on the face he could only describe as the epitome of peace and beauty.
How could he disturb a sight as breathtaking as this?
But he hated to see his human sleeping in such an uncomfortable position...
Silently, Phantom maneuvered himself into a position crouched next to Fenton. A little bit of intangibility and a whole lot of patience was thankfully all he needed to lift Fenton out of his chair. Of course, this left him with an entirely new problem.
Floating there, holding his sleeping human against his chest like this, was enthralling. Something about Fenton's steady, slow pulse, the way his bangs fluttered with each gentle breath, how he unconsciously curled himself into a position to fit perfectly in Phantom's arms...
The ghost swallowed. Focus. Get him to bed.
Except he found himself wanting to devote his focus to Fenton. Devote his core and being to Fenton. Hold him there forever and keep him safe and in his arms and eternally close to him.
Fenton shifted. With a long, deep breath, he twisted himself deeper into Phantom's arms, burying his face into the ghost's chest. Warm breath bloomed from Fenton's mouth and onto Phantom's chest, right above his core.
He swallowed again. Why did this feel more impossible than any ghost battle he'd ever been in?
Gritting his teeth, he reluctantly drifted towards the bed. Lowering Fenton down took very ounce of willpower he could possibly muster. It will be worth it when he is safe and comfortable, he tried to reassure himself.
And sure enough, the sight of Fenton's head laid on the pillow, black hair splayed out against the blue sheets, was worth it.
In spite of the pang in his core, Phantom smiled. Perhaps this is what those romance novels Jazz loved to read were talking about when they spoke of true love.
With a sigh he did not need, he moved to turn the desk light off only for a pale hand to reach out and grab his.
"Don' go," Fenton mumbled into the pillow, eyes still closed. Phantom stayed there, frozen in midair, praying that he hadn't woken up the human.
But how else would he know where to find Phantom?
Fenton's arm slowly curled back in towards his body, and Phantom, still petrified, allowed himself to be pulled along. His knees hit the bed. He sank into the mattress, eyes still locked on the human's face.
A blue eye cracked open ever so slightly. "Don' leave me," he gurgled again. Phantom found himself being guided to lay down next to Fenton. The bed was only a twin size, forcing him to press right up against the human.
"I'll just make you cold," Phantom whispered, his voice barely audible.
The eye closed. "Blanket."
Right. Of course. The one they were laying on. Phantom easily phased it through the both of them and draped it over their bodies. Really, he didn't need it, but something about the idea of sharing it with Fenton...
Their hands were still clasped together. Phantom used his free one to gently brush a few stray hairs from Fenton's face. Fenton's breath had already evened out again.
Beautiful. Stunning. Enchanting.
Ever so carefully, not wanting to wake the human up again, he leaned in and ghosted his lips across Fenton's. "Sweet dreams, love."
Like breathing, Phantom also had no need for sleep. That night, however, for the first time since they had become two people, he slept the night away, laying right up against his human. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ Send me a ship and a number from this ask game and I'll write a drabble or draw a sketch!

hi hannah do i even have to say what i’m gonna ask for the new ask game it’s starts with gray and ends with ghost (also take your time with the other ones i am Waiting™️ behind your Window™️👁️)
"Pretty pleeeaaase? I'll do whatever you want!"
Valerie all but slammed her locker shut. "Nathan. You've been asking me the same question for the past three years. What gives you any idea that my answer is going to change now?"
She hated to embarrass him, especially in front of so many people giggling at his latest failed attempt, but she had long since lost what little patience she might've had for these shenanigans. Frankly, she had half a mind to report him to Lancer for harassment, at this point.
She closed her eyes and pressed her back up against the locker. "Look," she said, trying desperately to reign in her temper, "I'm... flattered, alright? But no means no. End of story."
"Why not?" The bouquet of flowers hung limply at his side. "Everyone knows you still don't have a date!"
In typical high school fashion, a chorus of "ooh"s rose up from the crowd. Valerie's face burned. Whether it was from embarrassment or anger, she didn't know. Probably both.
She straightened up and took a step towards Nathan, who immediately cowered away. "I swear, Davies," she growled, "if you don't back off, I'll -"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" A body pushed itself in between her and Nathan, holding placating hands up to her.
She blinked in surprise. "Danny?"
Whispers erupted from the onlookers. Danny glanced at them nervously, but didn't change his stance. "J-just... let's take a second, okay?"
She couldn't deny that much of her anger evaporated the moment her eyes landed on Danny, but before she could say anything, he'd turned to Nathan.
"I think there, uh, might be some misunderstanding about the best way to ask a girl out," he said with a shy grin.
"What would you know about that, Fenton?" someone hollered from within the crowd. A bout of giggling circled the hallway.
Valerie's fire reignited. She turned to the direction of the voice (who had sounded suspiciously like Brady Ibarra) and made to give them a piece of her mind, but a cool hand caught hers.
She nearly snapped at Danny too, for stopping her, but the grin on his face melted her heart (and didn't it always?). Not enough to keep her from glaring at him, but it just made his grin widen that much more.
"It's easy," he said, and she couldn't tell if he was talking to her, Nathan, or the hecklers.
"Valerie..." He shifted his hand so that his fingers tucked under hers, and her heart skipped a beat. "Do you wanna go to senior prom with me?"
A couple of freshmen at the front of the group squealed, and for a moment, Valerie was too stunned to react. Three years after she'd called things off, and he suddenly comes out of nowhere asking her to prom?
But she couldn't find it within herself to be angry. They had managed to stay close despite the breakup, and there had been plenty of times over the years that she'd regretted ever making that decision.
And so she grinned right back at Danny. "See?" she said, looking past his shoulder at Nathan, who stood there with his mouth wide open. "That's more like it."
Then, to Danny, she looked him right in the eye and squeezed his hand under hers. "You're on, Fenton."
They were both smiling like idiots and standing there with red hot blushes, but she couldn't really find it within herself to care, not even when Nathan sprinted away, choking back cries of despair.
With no more drama to be privy to, the crowd quickly dispersed, though Valerie was certain she heard more than one comment about some sort of bet. No doubt Tucker was behind it. She'd be more than happy to straighten him out later.
With his free hand, Danny fidgeted with his hair. "Sorry about that," he said sheepishly. "I just heard Nathan giving you a hard time again, and everyone was watching, and I know he wouldn't leave you alone..."
"It's okay," she laughed. "I had it handled, you know. I'm not some damsel in distress."
His eyes widened to comical margins, and before she could blink, he had yanked his hand back from hers in embarrassment. "Sorry! Sorry, I - er, I never thought, you know - wasn't trying toooo you know what, I'm just gonna, uh, go now."
He turned to leave, and now it was Valerie's turn to catch his hand. "And just where do you think you're going? We've got a date to plan."
"Huh?" The poor boy looked genuinely confused for a moment before his eyes widened even more, if that was even possible. "Oh! N-no, I didn't - I wasn't really trying t-to ask, I mean, I wouldn't - not -"
Valerie's face fell a bit. "So, you don't want to go to prom with me?"
"No! I - I mean yes! I mean - ughhhh, I didn't mean for that to be how I asked you, I had something else so much better planned and -" He shut his mouth tight and his whole face turned cherry red as his own words hit him.
She couldn't help it. She laughed out loud. "You really are something, Danny."
He peeked up at her from behind his bangs. "Something good I hope?" he asked timidly.
She responded by intertwining her fingers with his and stepping closer. "Obviously." Her smile was teasing, but it still elicited a smile of his own.
He sagged with relief. "I still can't believe I screwed that up, I had this whole plan and everything," he said through breathless, disbelieving laughs.
"Don't worry, you can make it up to me. I still want to see this big plan of yours, and I want to see if you can pull it off without tripping over your own pants."
That sent him into another round of sputtering, and she started giggling again as she led him down the hallway.

ACTUALLY WAIT I ASKED FOR DANNY AND DAMON SO I ALSO HAVE TO ASK FOR VALERIE AND JACK AND MADDIE to make it fair 😌
(affectionately calling this Duly Deputized Hunting)
part 1 ~ part 2 ~ part 3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So!" Jack clapped his hands together, nearly making Valerie jump from the sound. "I bet Danny told you all about the Fenton EctoScrambler, huh? Did you want a demonstration? I mean yeah, we're not using actual ghosts as test subjects anymore of course, but we can still -"
"That's okay!" Valerie said, throwing her hands up with a kind smile. "I already heard about it from Danny." That was a lie, but hopefully neither Fenton parent would pick up on her fidgety fingers and bouncing leg.
She would lose whatever nerve she'd gathered before coming here if she got sidetracked now.
Maddie, thank God, could see the somewhat unrestrained panic in her eyes. She laid a gentle hand on Jack's shoulder. "Honey, let's not overwhelm her. I'm sure I heard Danny say something about demonstrating it to her later this week." Valerie relaxed and met Maddie's eyes. A knowing twinkle glimmered behind the older woman's irises, a twinkle that carried the experience of taming her husband's energetic zeal. "You said you had something to ask us on the phone?"
And just like that, Valerie's heart rate skyrocketed again. She picked at the edge of her sweater, desperately wishing she had something to tinker with. "Yeah. I mean, yes. Only if that's okay, of course." She nearly smacked her forehead. Way to play it cool, Gray.
"Of course!" Jack said with a hearty laugh. "Why wouldn't it be okay? You're practically family! Danny's brought you 'round often enough, you should know that by now." He shot an exaggerated wink to Valerie as Maddie gasped "Jack!" and nudged him in the arm.
Valerie's face flushed warm, though strangely not from Jack's teasing. You're practically family echoed in her mind, sending an electric warmth down her spine and across her whole body.
It wasn't as though Jack and Maddie had never accepted her. Far from it, in fact; they'd been ecstatic to finally discover that the famed Amity Park Huntress was, in fact, one of their son's classmates, and his girlfriend at that. Jack in particular had been thrilled that there were more from the "younger generations" interested in taking up ghost hunting.
And both of them had supported her ceaselessly. They'd sponsored a paid internship for her the moment she'd gotten her high school diploma. Helped navigate her out of her contract with Vlad. Continued to provide her with whatever tech and repairs she needed, even after her internship technically ended. Designed gear specially for her.
It was more than she could've ever dreamed. After Danny had told her about how rough it had been getting them to let him keep up with his ghost fighting after they learned of his secret ("Of course I'm grateful they don't hate me," he'd told her, "I just wish they could be slightly less overbearing with their love."), she'd expected them to stick her with lectures about the dangers of the job and how she should be leaving such risky endeavors to the grown-up professionals.
She couldn't have been happier to have had her expectations blown out of the water.
"It means so much to hear you say that," she said, her voice beginning to tremble with emotion. Darn it, keep it together girl! "You two have done so much for me and taken me under your wing, and you've gotten nothing in return."
Maddie scoffed. "Don't be silly." She took the hand on Jack's shoulder and reached across his lap to lay it on top of Valerie's. The kind smile on Maddie's face nearly melted her heart all over again. "Not only have we gotten to see our Danny happier than he's ever been, getting to spend his time with you, but we've gotten to see you grow into a bright, beautiful young lady. That alone is entirely worth it." Jack nodded eagerly beside her.
Now the tears were truly threatening to fall, and Valerie Gray did not cry. She sniffed and took a deep breath. "These past years with Danny, getting to know you and Jazz and be a part of your family, they've been the best of my life. I know Daddy wasn't exactly keen on letting me hang out here too much at first, but he knows this whole family cares about me almost as much as he does.
"And I care about you too. I seriously can't even begin to describe everything you've done for me. I didn't even need to ask; you just did it." Another sniffle. "It's like you somehow knew what I needed before I even asked."
Maddie's smile faltered just slightly. "Well," she said slowly, "I wouldn't say that was entirely the case..."
"It was Danny," Jack said. "We wanted to help you, of course, but he was the one to tell us exactly what you needed. Kid was always fretting about how you wouldn't accept the help if it came from him, but he just loved you so much. He wanted to make sure everything was perfect for you."
Valerie's breath caught in her throat. "Danny..." she whispered.
God, she was going to strangle that boy the next time she saw him. And then kiss him like there was no tomorrow.
Breathe girl. In and out. "He's... he's done so much for me too. I wouldn't be who I am without him." In and out. "I can't imagine my life without him." In and out. "I don't think I want to live life without him."
Maddie jolted upright. "Oh my..." she breathed. "Are you saying...?"
"Yes." The tears were falling uncontrollably now, but Valerie's smile felt like it could split her face. "Yes, I absolutely am."
"What?" Jack looked back and forth between the two women. "What's she saying? What are you saying?"
Maddie had started crying too, clutching Valerie's hand in one of her own and Jack's with the other. "She wants to join our family," she said through her own tears.
"Really? That's what this is all about? Well heck, what's all the fuss for then? Like I said, you're already part of the family, Val!"
In spite of herself, Valerie giggled. "No, no," she said with a shake of her head. "I'm saying... I'm saying I want to spend every day with Danny. I want to be a part of his life forever, and I want him to be part of mine. I want to get to share you as parents, and Jazz as a sister. I don't care what might happen, I just know I want me and Danny to face it, together, for the rest of our lives.
She took another deep breath. "I'm asking for your blessing to ask Danny to marry me."
Valerie suddenly found herself engulfed by the warm embrace of two sobbing Fenton parents.
Soon to be her parents too.

🎉 PLEASE FAMILY BREAKFAST WHATS THE DATE
🎉- What was the date?
Maddie enlists a few of her friends in the same karate class as her to help her quite literally run into Vlad and Jack's dorm room, tie him up, and drag him out to the car where Jack is waiting. Maddie throws Vlad into the car and the three of them are off
Vlad of course thinks the two of them have finally inhaled too many ectoplasmic fumes bc hello they have just literally kidnapped him and they are both giggling like idiots about it and he would like to be let out of this car right this minute thank you very much
They just keep giggling and tell him they promise he'll like it
After a while, they pull up outside this old building downtown, and Vlad recognizes it immediately.
"Jack. Maddie," he says, with as much patience as he can muster (which, granted, is not a lot), "why the hell have you kidnapped me just to take me to the bar?"
But it's not just any old bar. This is a locally owned sports bar that's been around for as long as Vlad can remember. Sure, they might not have had fancy big screens like they do these days (this was the 80s, after all), but it was still as good a place as any to catch a game and a beer with a few friends. The food is honestly pretty mediocre, nothing to write home about, and it's a little dingier than some other bars, but it does the job.
And the reason why it's not just any old bar is because this is the bar Vlad's father would take him to every Sunday in the fall to watch the Packers game (or at least listen to it, if it wasn't on TV) when he was a boy. Vlad's father would always get whiskey, and Vlad himself would guzzle down Shirley Temples. They'd share a plate of nachos and cheer the Packers on to victory as best they could, and they'd go home happy and Vlad's mother would scold him for drinking so much sugar, but she would always smile at her two boys having fun.
Those were some of the happiest moments of his life up to this point. They'd even kept with the tradition through elementary school, junior high, and into high school. Too bad those happy times ended his sophomore year of high school when his parents got killed in that car crash. Needless to say, he hadn't returned to the bar after that.
Until this night, where Jack and Maddie have kidnapped him. And they just keep smiling at him. Well, more so they seem to be having a silent conversation with one another, until Maddie reaches down to dig something out of her bag, and Jack grins at Vlad.
"I, uh, heard this place was a great bar to catch the Packers game," Jack says shyly. "And I overheard a group of the guys from Organic Chem saying they'd be here to cheer on the Bears."
Maddie interrupts now. "We thought you'd like to help us drown them out," she says with a mischievous grin, waggling the cans of body paint and the garish green and gold paraphernalia.
Of course, Vlad's first instinct is to say "no, absolutely not," but he can't exactly do much except watch as Jack and Maddie deck themselves in head to toe green and gold, then proceed to do the same for him. Finally, once he's all gussied up, they untie him and push him into the bar, loudly.
Things are definitely awkward at first. The Bears fans are looking at them like they want to vaporize them where they stand, and other patrons are simply looking at them like they're crazy. Jack and Maddie couldn't care less what everyone else thinks - they're hooting and hollering and Jack is beginning to get just a bit tipsy (Maddie is the DD) and they're having the time of their life.
Vlad never thought he could return to this place and enjoy himself, but he finally starts to loosen up a bit and remember just how much he loved spending time here somewhere around his second Heineken (or is it his third) and suddenly he's finding himself hooting and hollering right alongside those two, cheering oh so loudly for the Packers and driving the Bears fans so insane they leave the bar. Major success.
The Packers lose by nearly 3 touchdowns that night
The trio doesn't care at all though. At this point, Vlad and Jack are fairly wasted, and Maddie, while not drinking herself, is somewhat deliriously drunk on how much fun they're having together. Really, if any of them could seize a moment in time and immortalize it, it would be this one.
Wait - except that changes once the karaoke system gets rolled out. Then the iconic moment would be Vlad and Jack stumbling up onto the karaoke stage, belting out a Dead or Alive song and then, in their drunkenness, sharing an admittedly sloppy kiss in front of the whole bar, much to Maddie's delight (the only disappointment is that they will most definitely forget it ever happened, on account of how wasted they are).
The three of them leave shortly after that, having been kicked out of the bar by the bouncer.
No matter. They're still very much high on life in all the good ways, so Maddie drives them out to the park, grabs one of the old emergency blankets from her trunk, and drags her two boys out into the grassy lawn to lay down and look up at the stars, Vlad sandwiched between her and Jack.
Jack falls asleep immediately, hugging into Vlad so deeply that his hand is reaching all the way across him and holding onto Maddie too.
Vlad, still very much drunk, marvels at how different it felt to be in that bar again, and Maddie looks at him in surprise as he proceeds to spill the story about the little tradition between him and his father and how his parents got taken from him too early.
She's honestly stunned to hear about this - it's the first she's ever heard of it, really. But then she remembers something:
"Jack's the one who wanted to bring you there to have a good time," she tells him, even though she knows he probably won't remember once he's sobered up. "All he told me was that you mentioned that place once or twice and that you seemed to like it, so that's where he wanted to take you. Where we wanted to take you."
Vlad considers this information before promptly falling asleep as well.
He's the first to wake of the three of them in the morning, and God does his head hurt, and why on earth are they sleeping on a blanket in the middle of the park?
Fragments of memories come crashing back to him, but one thing he definitely remembers is going to that bar last night. And something about telling Jack... something. Maybe that he'd been there before.
Except no, he realizes that unless if Jack somehow remembered the single time he ever mentioned the bar and his connection to it, then it was all just a big coincidence. Nothing special about it, really. Which is kind of a disappointment, for some reason he can't identify.
He doesn't think of it again until a week later, when Jack is asking what he thought of that night (and of course it was wonderful and wild and freeing and he loved to just have the chance to exist with the two people closest to him), and he realizes that yes, somehow Jack did remember that single time the backstory had been even partially explained to him. It had only been in passing, he didn't even know if he'd ever mentioned the name, but somehow, Jack remembered and wanted to take him there - no, though Jack may have remembered, both of them wanted to take him there - and make new, happy memories there with him.
It's only the first of many spontaneous excursions between the three of them. Jack and Maddie quickly learn that Vlad secretly enjoys being "kidnapped" away to hang out with them, especially if they have a way that actually involves him in the hangout and doesn't leave him as a third wheel.
It isn't until the seventh or eighth excursion that Maddie has finally had enough and explains that duh, there's a reason the two of them keep taking him out like this! Was he really that clueless? (the answer is yes, yes he was)
Anyway Tumblr is yelling at me about character limit but yeah, that's a little bit how it goes hehe

At some point, Valerie brings home a glass jar and labels it "Pun Jar." Every time Danny makes a terrible pun, she forces him to put a quarter in it. It doesn't take very long for it to fill up enough to pay for a fancy date night (partially because puns run in Danny's blood, but partially because he loves making them to get a reaction out of her)
Danny thought it would be fun to bond with Valerie by introducing her to DOOMED. She got permanently banned after ten minutes for exchanging some "choice words" with another player for ruining her kill streak (Danny was dying of laughter the whole time)
You know how Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are always bugging Danny to be more open and talk about his traumas with them so he doesn't bottle them up? Yeah, that bothers him. There are just some things he's not comfortable with sharing or that he's even ready to share. Valerie is different, though. She knows what it's like to be out on the front lines, more so than any of the rest of Team Phantom. She knows the weight of having a double life and the pain (both physically and mentally) it can bring. She obviously wants Danny to share things with her, but she doesn't push him to do so. She knows he trusts her; he just needs time. He starts doing the same for her unconsciously and lo and behold, the two of them end up sharing far more with each other than they have with anyone else.
Danny is the little spoon and it's one of his favorite things in the world
Danny would be the one to propose, and yes, he would absolutely use Jack's line: "will you be the one to hunt ghosts with me for the rest of my life?" (of course, there aren't really a lot of ghosts to hunt per se especially since he's the Ghost King now whoops but he can't resist the need to use it on her). it's one of the only times he ever sees her cry but it's also one of the best kisses he ever gets from her.
~~Send me a ship and an emote from this ask meme and i'll make myself cry over sappy headcanons all over again!!
