I LOVE COLLEGE AU SO MUCH MAN. AND I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT WHERE EVERYONE WOULD END UP. This will probably get long cause I'm also thinking about what job they'd end up at so I'll put it undercut

I'll start with Yu cause he was the hardest to figure out. Here's what i see. Business major right? Boring but he's a smart guy and it pleases his parents.

He opens up his own consulting business but whatever he names it is so vague that people don't know/mistake what he actually does. like maybe repairs is in the name for some reason. So his first customer is some kid that shows up and is like 'bike repairs? I have a flat :c ' and Yu is like no....but I know how to change a tire. Next day an elderly man comes in like 'computer repairs? My laptop won't turn on.' And he's like no. But I can handle a computer.

Someone shows up for actual consulting but they're like. Consulting.....like I can consult you for termite advice. And he's like no. That would be an inspector. But I just read a book about termites so I can take a look. And it just goes on and on like that. Never actually puts his degree to use but instead becomes know as The Odd Job Guy around town

Chie and yukiko? Well I do actually love the idea of yukiko becoming a interior designer but specially one that gets hired by eccentric millionares to install a space station themed dining room next to the tiki bar. While chie....ngl I don't want her as a cop. I was thinking more of a fight cheographer for movies. Where she can occasionally show up in the bg of kung fu films being villain henchman #3

Kanji and naoto....I do ship them. Which is important for this becuase....kanji doesn't go to college. Instead he's a stay at home husband who runs a very popular online crafts shop. Along with a YouTube channel that's like a silent step by step tutorial place for simple to expert sewing techniques. While noato......would go to the same college as yu. Follows a strict detective to be course load. BUT is easily convinced to join yu in a couple of his g.e. classes where he picked extremely weird alternatives. I'm talking turfgrass science, I'm talking jazz studies, the art of walking, street fighting mathematics, and of course...a pizza apprenticeship. Each class giving both of them the detrimental knowledge they need to solve obscure murder cases or make a nice lunch for a get together....

Yosuke and rise. Well you've seen a bit of that. Both major in music but yosuke focuses more on learning a few more instruments and writing melodies more than lyrics. And eventually makes songs with rise (whoose finally able to have control of her own image and actually shows interest in the song writing process cause arrgghhhh I got some beef with this game forcing her to go back to the idol industy) ITS VERY IMPORTANT THO. that yosuke at least pushes rise to spice up her songs with English. Maybe even a 'Fuck' thrown in cause it sounds cool.

Teddie? Probably the only one I haven't thought of. But ngl teddie dj from your dance.....is so tempting. Oohhh ohhh u know what hmmn....he'd be perfect for a personally type radio station. Oohhhh my lovely ladies I'm beary excited to show u this next love song. From my perfect little bear heart to yours ~

....and now I realize that this turned more into jobs more than it did specific college majors....

Uhhh… a long time I think. I don’t even remember the last time I had zucchini. Like if I had to eat it, I would probably just try to like eat one a day, so like, I guess not that long, all things considered - I was originally thinking like a few years, but at one a day it wouldn’t even be one year.

4. Okay, this question just made me have like a little bit of a breakdown lmao. I was thinking like ‘oh, I’ve grown stuff to make spaghetti sauce before - I could grow something to make most meals’ and then I actually thought about it. When I grew that, it was just tomatoes and basil. That gets you a long way, but then you’d have to grow sugar cane to add to the sauce, and get salt somehow. Then, for the pasta, you’d have to grow wheat and then mill it (and a specific kind of wheat from what I remember). That’s so much work for one dish that’s super simple. I think I would just live off of like soup and grow vegetables to put into it tbh. There are so many small ingredients that go into so many dishes - like, I love making curry - all those spices though - there’s no way

oh made up fic titles! ok first heres the obvious one: Taunt

hi!!

the first thing that comes to mind is an enemies to lovers trope. i saw a rival football team art on twitter (heres the link) and the concept has been stuck in my head ever since

there's the obvious feud between dream and technoblade, and the residual one between sbi & the feral boys.

wilbur meets the new transfer student, george, at a party and finds him v cute and at first tries to flirt w him and get him to hang w sbi. but quackity and dream steal george away, being ultra-possessive of their new friend.

from there on, whenever wilbur sees him, he teases george relentlessly. george, who still doesn't really know why / what happened, starts returning the snide comments.

george doesn't really care about football, but his friends do, so his way of participating is as the water boy. throughout the games, him and dream get closer, but when sbi and the feral boys face off, that's when all hell breaks loose.

dream gets tackled by techno, and he's hurt pretty bad. george runs into the field without thinking, just to make sure he's okay.

through all of the commotion, george still manages to hear wilbur scoff and say something like, "of course he wants to make sure his boyfriend is okay."

george doesn't know why that bothers him so much, but after dream is taken to the hospital for a broken arm or something, he corners him in the locker room.

at first, they're both just yelling at each other, but then wilbur starts taunting him about his 'relationship' with dream.

when it finally falls silent, they're both red in the face and out of breath, eyes locked.

george makes the first move, he pushes wilbur down on a bench, grabs the back of his neck and kisses him. wilbur is happy to shut up for once

the sbi and feral boy feud ends shortly after that night, mainly because techno felt guilty about hurting dream, but george and wilbur like to think they played a part in it too

yu goes through the dungeon with a 'well this is what yosuke wants' <gritted teeth> <gritted teeth> [I will take one jealous!yu tyvm]. yukiko is just? confused? this isn't how she understands chie to be— yeah they're opening up to each other more now so she gets chie feels all sorts of complicated feelings about appealing to boys but.... this? with HIM? very odd

kanji and rise feel very awkward and kinda like they should congratulate yosuke and chie. that's what you do at a wedding, right? christ get them out of here. teddie's just excited Something romantic is happening and hey he loves his friends loving each other <does not pick up on tension between all the second years>

post Big Reveal ("it's so obvious leader is going to make a move so why don't you just GET OVER HER" "HA you're not meant to get the hero- as the plucky sidekick they've got to pair off the spares" etc etc) well i don't think yukiko or yu would immediately make a move. it's just Much to Think About. but everyone comes away from it like, yeah that makes sense

BOY DO I!!! Most of which are just little scenarios and stuff

One I really REALLY been wanting to draw is yosuke being sick of rise eating all of his left overs that he puts her thru cooking boot camp. which mostly consists of printing out recipes and watching as she follows the instructions to the T until she finally masters a simple rice dish on her own!!!

With her new found power and Yu senpai about to visit for the weekend she decides she's gonna cook his favorite dish. (For this I was gonna say something like chicken cutlets). And while she tries her very best she reminisces about her sweet high school memories of Yu bringing chicken cutlet bentos for lunch, ordering extra at restaurants, watching him cook them with nanko....

And what do u know? It comes out delicious!! Yu compliments her and she jokingly says that now that she can cook his favorite meal they can get married hehe. She's expecting him to joke back but Yu just gives her a confused look bwfore telling her chicken cutlets aren't his favorite food. Now she's confused...she points out that he use to eat it all the time in high school, no?? He thinks about it for a moment before his face contorts in pain. That's when hits her. In all her precious high school memories she had completely erased someone important....yosuke in the background loudly exclaiming WOAH Chicken cutlets? My favorite 😋

And thats exactly when yosuke comes back home. Apologizing that he couldnt come to pick up partner at the station cause he had to take an extra shift. And WOAH is that chicken cutlets? Those are his favorite!

Rise attacks him.

In the end Yu uses their kitchen to cook Rises favorite meal for dinner that night 😔

hi!! this is perfect timing actually, anon--i've been diving into the dnf tag as of late and i have so many new (and old!) faves to share under the cut :D

first off, i don't actually read a lot of irl/"canon" dnf? i know this is usually the most popular genre so i apologize in advance if this is what you were looking for </3 anyway what i consider to be the undisputed king of this particular strain is @netheritedream's hey there delilah songfic...this was Such an era, and sometimes i go back and reread hari's fic just to recapture the contact high of mid-jan dnf because nobody else has encompassed their dynamic as well as she did w this

in terms of lore aus, martyr wrapped in butcher paper by @aetherknit is the og god/king smp!dnf fic. one of my all-time favorite dnf pieces and one of my favorite pieces of writing EVER. isaiah knows how much i love this and since i've read it, i have never shut up about it.

another lore fic i think about Constantly is @boatstrats' an extant form of life, which is the thing that finally pushed me into caring about canon lore. dnf is more implied in this but (slight spoiler here) the motif of decay that boat uses is something that i continually embarrass myself about whenever we dm. definitely an incredible read!!!

a lot of my absolute faves are weird and slightly offbeat aus--case in point, guy.exe, again by isaiah (for maximum impact check out zin @taxolotl's incredible comic after you're done). this is a sci-fi au where george constructs dream's consciousness into a hologram and they work through their Issues

i've also really been enjoying Phosphors' ongoing dystopian/nosedive au!! this is quite unsettling and definitely leans more toward the "fiction" part of fanfiction, which never feels tiresome. they have such a subtle and detail-oriented writing style too and i'm incredibly excited for the next chapter <33

if sci-fi's not your jam then you might like this 500 days of summer au by squigly!! perfectly toes the line between funny and quietly pathetic in a reaaaallly cool way and it's such a clever subversion of the manic pixie dream girl trope

i've also always always adored @dontrollthedicesideblog's super smash bros commentator au. dice is such a pro at dialogue and getting a reader situated in a new world and this is just lovely, heartwarming, and all round hilarious <33

last but not least, your hands were warm (though you came in from the cold) by @didntstand is so...... okay so it's a roommates/housemates au, after george returns from a long trip abroad. really nails the unspooling of a complicated relationship and i revisit this one all the time.

i genuinely consider all of these to be beautiful works of fiction and they all come from writers i really admire so once you're done with the fics here i REALLY recommend you check out everything else on their profiles <333 ty for asking and happy reading!!
