why does the 4th episode of my comic still only have one like???
The like I gave it??? ☠️ bc I got sad after 24 hours when still not a single person had liked it? It's been almost a month now.
Is it that bad???????????????
Tumblr media
I'm honestly so baffled. Are my readers and patrons just tech illiterate or did they all not-so-secretly hate it?

stopped reading Dear Prudence because 1) it is pretty repetitive once you’ve read more than 20 pages of it, like there’s only so much advice any one person can give, but also 2) found out one of the old Prudies (the first one I think?) is now a huge fucking ‘now i’m just asking questions...’-type transphobe. (You know, the kind that is directly responsible for the healthcare bans. ‘Just asking questions’ about whether life-saving healthcare is actually life-ruining. ‘Just asking questions’ and then only platforming the people giving the answer that fits their biases.) they still publish old columns on sundays and i don’t want them to pay her on my account
anyway that’s not the point, the point is i don’t have enough fun stuff to read online anymore :( i had a good balance before but now i’m over here auto-clicking over to a tumblr i just closed 2 minutes ago and feeling silly when they don’t have any new posts

this is not a pokemon blog but i spent the last like hour reading and crying and wheezing over an [unfinished and indefinitely hiatused, sobs] nuzlocke comic so. standby while i track down the first page on tumblr to reblog here
edit: so turns out, however it is they structured their blog, i have no idea how to reblog the post or even if i can. here’s the first page on tumblr; no idea how navigating it will work so here’s the deviantart link too
#funnily enough i found the first page on pinterest and clicked through to the postings on deviantart#sidenote deviantart is so annoying to use on mobile but yknow what. i did it. the comic was worth it.#not kpop#shut up vic#god i am so jealous of artists i am so jealous of comics as a medium like.#i'm a writer. i can't put little details in the background that are optional to the plot but enrich the environment#i can't have characters catfighting in the background; i can't have a bird doing loop-de-loops#i can't have characters arguing about how to get out of a situation as one character in the background discovers a secret door#and tries desperately to get the arguement to notice their discovery#while the argument is happening in the foreground and the secret door is completely dialogueless#LIKE. doing anything that isn't happening in the foreground in writing makes it confusing and fucks up the flow.#and i'm using words!!! i can't put little details for people to notice later!!!!#if i mention something it's important!!!! it has to be!!!!! chekov's gun!!!! storytelling rules!!!!!#don't bog the audience with unnecessary details or they won't remember the important ones!!!!! unless it's a mystery but i don't write those#god i am so jealous of webcomics i'm so jealous of artists i'm so jealous of comics#they're hard and i know that and they burn you out and i know that#but god. god. there's something so incredibly special about comics.#hi i'm vic and my specialties include crying over artistic mediums because what a medium does for its story is so interesting to me#a social media au is different from a paragraph fic is different from a comic is different from a movie is different from a video game#and they all do different things and they all enhance their stories in different ways and that is SO FUCKING COOL AND SO FUCKING DEVASTATING#I WANNA DO THAT!!! I WANNA CREATE ALL OF THAT!!! but FUCK me dude drawing is too hard for me#anyway standby while i reblog the first page

As someone who might be interested to make their own webcomic one day: Why did you decide to put Aurora on its own dedicated website instead of a platform like Webtoon or Tapas?
Don't get me wrong, the site looks great but it gotta be a lot of work to maintain, right?
It was a couple week's worth of work to set up and polish, and I've had to do very minor adjustments every couple months. In return I don't need to deal with ads, I don't need to conform my story or layout to any sort of site standard, I haven't been locked into any publishing arrangements and I can customize the site however I want. For me, that's an easy trade.
When the channel started getting big several years back, we started getting approached by multichannel networks asking to absorb us in exchange for guaranteed clicks. We decided very early on that we weren't going to do that, in large part because even the multichannel networks that weren't scams were at all times one executive decision away from exploding and taking all their subsidiaries down with them. We saw it happen to Machinima, and recent years have seen even more cases where one boss's boss's boss who doesn't know what they're doing absolutely wrecks everyone's arrangement - like how Unity spontaneously destroyed everyone's trust in them by trying to retroactively charge game devs for user downloads of their game, or how the Escapist fired the one guy who was holding their channel together, or when CollegeHumor got corporate-mandatedly forced into pivoting to Facebook video and then everyone got fired when that turned out to be a terrible idea, or even the whole Channel Awesome thing. Big conglomerates of small indie creators tend to catastrophically explode on the regular, scattering those creators to the winds and potentially destroying the archive of their work.
We've even seen social media platforms thought of as solid staples of the online landscape start withering away because one idiot buys them out and starts chewing on cables. People whose entire professional networking presence is on Twitter have had a really rough year.
From my perspective, centralizing the world's webcomics into two or three baskets is a really good way to lose all of them at once. Also I put all this work into never having to deal with a boss, and it would be weird to go out of my way to change that.

Prefacing by saying I have been a hardcore Hazbin fan since mid 2019, pre-pilot release. I am not an embittered anti.
Hazbin's pacing doesn't make me angry, it makes me sad. I think about this show setting up like a normal cartoon, letting us get to know the characters, letting us see them day-to-day and strengthening their relationships with each other and how they cope in different silly or serious situations, and I get... just, upset. This isn't a cartoon, this is a webcomic, and it's a webcomic based off some lady's twitter where she gave us a character sheet for everyone before we clicked on so the comic wouldn't have to waste time explaining it. I'm sad.
Who is this Camille lady and what do I care if she killed an angel? Her daughters? Who? I don't know either of their names and I don't care enough about her or them to check. I just met her today! If she dies, if her daughters die, what difference does it make to me? A random decent character design is gone? Ok??
What do I care if Vaggie has self esteem issues? I don't know her, I just met her! I'd care so much more about her song if I cared about her! I'm just expected to care because, hey, Hazbin had a huge fandom pre-release, so why wouldn't I care? She's had so much fanon and speculation, that practically did all the set up for me, right?
,,,nO. I still need you to do the work! I want to know who these people are before I see all their trauma laid bare, because otherwise all they are to me IS their trauma, and it's tough to get invested in that in a world this bleak with a cast this huge.
Helluva Boss did the same thing - Octavia is introduced in episode 2, and then in that same episode we get some big emotional dramatic moment with her and her father that feels like it should have capped an entire character arc. And yeah, I like Octavia, I like her design and her voice and her relationship to her family, but I sure didn't care when she cried about a conflict I only learned 2 minutes ago I was meant to be taking seriously. She gets another big arc for her issues in s2e2, and I cared a LOT MORE, because not only have I actually met her before that episode, I had the entire episode to develop on her specifically and lead up to the emotional climax! It didn't just play happy dappy with her all day and then make her break down, it was a clear progression. Same with Fizz - I enjoyed his recent episode with Blitzo, because I have had several episodes to build up both their individual characters and their relationship to each other and past tension. If that had been their first episode together, I would have again, not cared one bit.
Man.

With tumblr news circulating about the Skeleton Crew shift, and the eventual shut down (albeit a slow death, it could be years), I've been thinking about the lifespans of older websites that still exist today. A lot of them (in fact most) are run by community volunteers who rely on yearly fundraiser efforts, word of mouth, call to actions that bring attention to its importance... And i'm reflecting on what that all truly means in the end, and what we, as The Internet Explorers, should consider for long term. I don't think the Internet with its many sites ever promised 'long term' to start, it was always experimental, ephemeral, in the moment- and could break when the lights just couldn't stay on. But it's also important that we archive things, leave a mark on the work we've done- Memories of good times (and bad times) on sites who hold thousands upon thousands of clicks, downloads, shares, and browsing. It makes me think: What are we missing out on, and what is to come?
We're never going to be able to predict our futures as far as a websites lifespan goes, its fate lies in the hands of those who deem it 'worth it' or not. But what we CAN do, is archive our memories and revisit the past to learn FOR the future. And I think it's about time we start to prioritise making funky websites free from the hands of folks who want to profit off of our works- Create spaces dedicated to your fandoms, your muses, your recipes, your cats and dogs, you art, writing, music , and so much more.
I've been seeing more younger folks start to experiment with Neocities and that gives me hope. Or more and more folks who want to host their webcomic on Comic Fury . Hell, AO3 is a classic example of resilience in the face of constant change. Celebrate inide sites- create your own. Use RSS readers to keep up with your faves, read webcomics on their own sites. It feels bleak because we want to reach people and communities- but remember that WE are what they make. It has to start with us, and with how much the net is shifting into algorithm hyper profit based experiences, I think it's time to reflect what we truly want our browsing time to be like.

The Webcomic Reviews Mini Reviews Masterpost, Part 1
People always ask me what I think of various webcomics, so I decided to start collecting my thoughts in one place! Click the images to go to the comic! Comic titles with a ⭐ after them are recommended, but even if I don't give a comic a star, that doesn't mean you won't like it.
[un]Divine ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: A highschooler sells his soul for a big titty demon gf, and now has to have anime battles against angels who keep trying to eat him.
The Good: Excellent art and monster designs, some of the better fights in webcomics.
The Bad: Danny is kind of a bland protagonist. The comic keeps threatening to veer into femdom porn, which may be a good thing for some of you. Comic is on permanent semi-hiatus and updates very infrequently
You should read it if: You wanna read a comic with big fights, big angels, and big titties.
Ava’s Demon
Tumblr media
What is it: A bunch of kids possessed by demons have space adventures and are sad
The Good: Extremely good art. Occasional "high production value" moments with music and limited animation. The single-panel page format really highlights the art.
The Bad: Bland writing, weak characters. The single-panel page format really slows the flow of reading it.
You should read it if: Learning that the Wrath demon is named “Wrathia” doesn’t strike you as comically dumb
Awkward Zombie ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: It’s a comic that makes jokes about video games
The Good: It’s the best comic that makes jokes about video games
The Bad: If you haven’t played the game in question, you might not get the jokes. Awkward lack of zombies.
You should read it if: You like jokes about video games. I don't....it's not a complex premise.
Camp Weedonwantcha ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: A bunch of kids are left at summer camp forever by parents who’ve abandoned them to die. Wacky comedy and feel-good moments ensue.
The Good: Cute adventures with kids, reminiscent of some of the better Nicktoons from the 90s. Surprisingly emotionally effective when it wants to be.
The Bad: While the ending is satisfying in its own way, many plot threads go unresolved
The Terrible: Nickelodeon bought the rights and is sitting on them.
You should read it if: You like slice of life adventures with blasts of dark humor and feels
Cloudscratcher
Tumblr media
What is it: Ducktales, with Genocide!
The Good: Cute and generally likable characters. Decently paced
The Bad: Doesn’t really excel at anything. Weirdly insistent about totally not being a furry comic even though it obviously is.
The Terrible: The author is a white nationalist, and the lack of link is intentional.
You should read it if: You like 80s cartoons and hate minorities
Cornucopia ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: A ninja is sent on a mission to literally steal candy from a nation of morons, fails.
The Good: Good art and well-paced storytelling. Clever use of different types of word balloons. High joke-per-page ratio
The Bad: Doofy tone may not be your cup of tea. Seems to have died young, though the first chapter is still a complete story
You should read it if: You like JelloApocalypse’s videos on YouTube, or his series Epithet Erased, since he made this
Dresden Codak
Tumblr media
What is it: A genius inventor has wacky adventurers, then goes to a flying city and spends most of the comic’s run embroiled in a conspiracy run by evil anime villains.
The Good: The drawings are pretty. The early comedy adventures are quirky and charming.
The Bad: Panel layout and composition, especially early in Dark Science, is atrocious. Presents the comic as a feminist power fantasy, but the main character usually has her tits out and has had her clothes burnt off on multiple occasions.
The Terrible: The author is a notorious jerk. As of this writing, The Dark Science storyline has been running for eight years and has yet to reach a triple-digit number of pages, even though it’s a full-time job for which Diaz earns $4,000+/mo on Patreon.
You should read it if: You thought the best part of Ghost in the Shell was the lesbian orgy boat.
Drop Out (NSFW) ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: Two girlfriends go on a road trip to kill themselves in style
The Good: Short enough to be read in one sitting. Surprisingly good visual storytelling for a first comic. Realistic dialogue and high tension keeps you engaged even when not much is happening. Subtle details that don’t become apparent until a second read reward paying attention.
The Bad: Heavy subject matter. Lettering can be tough to read in early pages.
Content Warnings: Drug Abuse, Suicide, Mental Health Issues, Detransitioning….a list of all the difficult content in this comic would be so long it’d look like I’m making a joke. This is a heavy comic.
You should read it if: You like arty dramatic comics that deal with uncomfortable topics
Dumbing of Age
Tumblr media
What is it: College students obsessed with late 80s-early 90s pop culture have relationship troubles
The Good: Of all the popular comics it’s trendy to shit on, this is by far the best. Solid gag-a-day strip with plots that move at a decent pace.
The Bad: Realistic depictions of abusive parents co-exists in the same comic as a literal superhero, leading to some jarring tonal confusion.
You should read it if: You like newspaper-style drama comics.
Everything Is Fine
Tumblr media
What is it: Maggie and Sam are a normal married couple in a very strange world where proving your loyalty is the key to winning, and the best way to prove your loyalty is to show someone else is disloyal. And also everyone wears mascot suit cat heads all the time.
The Good: Well-written characters, a novel premise, and excellent pacing. I’m not the biggest fan of the webtoon “really tall page” format, but it’s taken advantage of at times for nice transitions
The Bad: The webtoon format can be irritating, and the worldbuilding is toeing the line between “compelling mystery” and “If there were two astronauts on the moon and one shot the other wouldn’t that be fucked up?”-ism.
Content Warning: Gore, Suicide themes. Every page with such content has a warning on it (which works better in Webtoon format, actually)
You should read it if: You liked the dystopian fiction fiction books you had to read in high school.
Gunnerkrigg Court ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: A girl attends a scientific school in a magical world that’s honestly not even slightly like Harry Potter but people say it is because they think J. K. Rowling invented British schools
The Good: Good art and fantastic panel composition. Slow-burning dark fantasy mystery.
The Bad: Takes a little while to find its groove. Starts feeling rushed and confusing near the end.
The Terrible: Boxbot
You should read it if: You like dark fantasy stories, or stories in general.
Homestuck ⭐?
Tumblr media
What is it: A kid wants to play a video game but it’s downstairs and he doesn’t feel like talking to his dad yadda yadda yadda the universe explodes. Was briefly ungodly popular.
The Good: High production values, many updates are music videos with excellent music. Great character writing, especially in Act 5. Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale, did a lot of the music, and arguably isn’t even the best musician featured.
The Bad:The early part of the comic is brutally slow-paced, and is an impossible hurdle for some.
The Terrible: The ending is widely considered a major disappointment, and attempts to turn the comic into a franchise have been met with mixed reviews. The prose epilogues are deeply divisive.
Content Warning: A lot gorier than you might expect, mitigated by the cartoony art style, abusive relationships, the epilogue is just generally gross.
You should read it if: You want to see what the hell all those kids in grey face-paint at anime conventions were about
You should also consider: Just getting the music off the bandcamp, it’s really good.
Homestuck 2
Tumblr media
What is it: A “dubiously canon” sequel to Homestuck, following from The Homestuck Epilogues, made by a different creative team. Follows two intersecting future timelines
The Good: The art is quite nice, and the new characters are fun and likable. Very bold in its ideas, for better or for worse it’s rarely boring. One of the few webcomics to be able to integrate trigger warnings clearly while remaining non-obtrusive with them. Faster-paced than the original Homestuck (low bar!) and has a few clever presentation ideas. Willing to be its own thing. If you’re worried it’s just “Homestuck 1 but more of it”, this is not that.
The Bad: Not at all a stand-alone comic, Homestuck 2 is completely incoherent if you’re not familiar with Homestuck 1 and the Homestuck Epilogues. Does not have the big multimedia productions Homestuck 1 was known for. Beloved characters from Homestuck 1 can come off really badly, which upsets a lot of people. If you’re looking for “Homestuck 1 but more of it”, this is not that.
The Terrible: At times, this comic is actively trying to piss off the readership by dragging out unpopular plot revelations. I actually like this about it, but unsurprisingly a lot of people don’t.
You should read it if: If you have to ask “Should I read Homestuck 2?”, the answer is probably “No”. This is a comic for people who are riding the Homestuck train to the bitter end.
You should also consider: Reading my Liveblog of it
Kiwi Blitz ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: A precocious young girl gets a Kiwi-shaped robot and decides to become a superhero ridding the world of nefarious furries. More of a cute character drama than a superhero comic, and more of a superhero comic than a mecha one.
The Good: Cute artstyle. Not without dramatic stakes, but fairly light and fun throughout minus a few people getting shot. The android 42 is stand-out great character.
The Bad: Prone to long hiatuses as the author's main comic is now Sleepless Domain.
You should read it if: You liked Sleepless Domain, and are looking for a somewhat lighter comic by the same author.
Latchkey Kingdom ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: A girl goes on adventures in a magical land of idiots
The Good: Good but not overbearing comedy. Tight chapters. Strong side characters
The Bad: Thanks in part to Patron-backed stories in between the “main” chapters, can feel like an episodic series with no main character or driving plot
The Neutral: Willa is a semi-silent protagonist, and often gets overshadowed by the wacky people she meets. Cerberus Syndrome, executed well
You should read it if: You like adventure, silly characters, and jokes about Dark Souls.
Leasebound
Tumblr media
What is it: Two lesbians are contrived into sharing an apartment, then the comic becomes a polemic about how trans people are evil. The second-best TERF webcomic on this list
The Good: This comic has no redeeming qualities
The Bad: It’s hella transphobic, and not even particularly interesting about it the way Sinfest can be. Everything that’s not hateful is boring, and the comic is practically going “Go on, be offended, blog about me, give me atteeeennnnttttiiiiiooooonnn!”
You should read it if: You really shouldn’t, and I’m not linking to it
Least I Could Do
Tumblr media
What is it: Rayne Summers is the best at everything and you should listen to him
The Good: This comic updates on time regularly. Sometimes it updates without word balloons by accident, making it surreally funny
The Bad: Poorly thought-out political rants; few jokes, severe overuse of beat panels, copy-pasted art.
The Terrible: Designed to go viral, not to be entertaining; makes panels wordless just so they can be used as preview images
You should read it if: You have committed horrible sins and wish to atone
Legend of the Hare
Tumblr media
What is it: I wrote this! A white trash loser girl is peer pressured into becoming a magical girl by a pair of pushy rabbits. A spinoff of the print comic Blade Bunny, written and drawn by the current creative team of Saffron and Sage.
The Good: Bouncy and cartoony art. Strong and memorable characters. Very weird and freewheeling.
The Bad: The plot is an absolute mess, stalling out and even going backwards at times, though it mostly comes together at the end. The tone is wildly inconsistent.
The Terrible: Kind of South-Parky in its humor sometimes
You should read it if: You like Saffron and Sage and want to see a comic by the same team when they were less experienced.
Nan Quest ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: In this spiritual sequel to Ruby Quest, a goat girl electrician sets out to fix a broken fuzebox and ends up ensnared in a psychological horror conspiracy.
The Good: Much more effective use of the simple MS Paint art style, with more color and some simple animations (animated panels being marked [A], a convention Homestuck would later adopt for its [S] sound panels). The characters are better fleshed out than in Ruby Quest, and the horror is more effective as well, with less gore and more tension.
The Bad: Though used effectively, the art is still MS Paint doodles. The story mechanics behind the mystery are much more ambiguous, which can be a plus.
Content Warning: Gore, threatened sexual violence.
You should read it if: You like Ruby Quest and/or psychological horror comics that can be read in a few hours.
Moby: Back from the Deep
Tumblr media
What is it: A zombie killer whale attacks a small town.
The Good: The art is nice
The Bad: Egregious overuse of narration.
The Terrible: It’s a beat for beat ripoff of the movie Jaws, down to some characters having their names only marginally changed from their Jaws counterpart (e.g. “Alex Gardener” is the name of the Alex Kintner analogue)
You should read it if: You can’t find a Jaws torrent.
Mokepon ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: A dickhead teenager is forced on a Pokemon adventure, and learns a valuable lesson about friendship while being dragged into a criminal conspiracy. A Pokemon fanfic that’s somewhat darker than the source material (though not really “grimdark”)
The Good: Good action scenes, nice manga-style art. Notable improvement in art and storytelling over time. Atticus’ slow-burn character growth is satisfying.
The Bad: The early chapters are almost a completely different comic, and it takes a little while to find its groove.
You should read it if: You liked Pokemon Special
Monster Pulse ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: Kids’ internal organs become sentient external organs, and they have to keep it a secret from an evil orginization.
The Good: Cool twist on the surprisingly rare monster pet genre. Not afraid to upend the status quo
The Bad: No real obvious flaws, but if you don’t find the premise interesting, you probably won’t like it.
You should read it if: You were a fan of monster-pet stories like Digimon Tamers
The Monster Under The Bed
Tumblr media
What is it: A teenager finds a demon girl under his bed, rom-com ensues
The Good: Cute anime-esque premise
The Bad: Gets progressively hornier to to point where I'm not sure if I should even leave it on this list. Egregious use of photos instead of drawing backgrounds, making outdoor scenes look awful
You should read it if: You like trashy Japanese animes
Narbonic ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: A shlubby loser gets a job working for a mad scientist. Mad sciencey things occur, and the comic experiences an incredible jump in quality in the back half
The Good: Short comic, comfy and easy to read. The best and most satisfying ending arc of any webcomic ever.
The Bad: Some “LOLRANDOM” humor, especially early on.
The Terrible: The first few comics are almost literally unreadable due to messy handwritten lettering and low quality scans.
You should read it if: You love seeing a story build to a proper conclusion, and you don’t mind a rough start.
Octopus Pie ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: Slice-of-life dramedy where twenty-somethings try to become adults and/or get laid while navigating New York life. Completed comic.
The Good: If you direct your attention above, you will see the incredible coloring. There are other comics that have better plots and even better characters, but Octopus Pie is uniquely good at hitting a mood. Occasionally does some infinite canvas stuff that’s neat.
The Bad: This is a comic about exploring ideas and kind of drifting around through life, and isn’t a big plot-focused comic with a lot of big dramatic reveals. Which I don’t think is bad, but it might not be your thing.
You should read it if: You liked stories about adults trying to figure out how to grow up, and like seeing characters age.
Out-of-Placers ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: A human man is turned into a female rat creature, and has to navigate a low-fantasy world while learning their incredibly stupid ways and trying to get himself back to normal.
The Good: Really good worldbuilding, with interesting, fleshed out, and unique fantasy races. There are licensed Dungeons and Dragons books with less cool ideas for a campaign in them.
The Bad: Can get kind of edgy in ways that don’t always work, and occasionally gets a bit gross. If the premise made you think it was a furry fetish comic, it’s not, but it keeps threatening to become one if you don’t whap it with a newspaper and say “No” very firmly every now and then.
You should read it if: Your favorite DnD race is kobolds.
Paranatural ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: Kids bust ghosts in a parody of shounen anime tropes
The Good: Good banter, creative panel layouts, and characters you want to root for.
The Bad: The story rapidly increases in scale, causing the pacing to slow down somewhat. The story later transitions to an illustrated prose format, which some people can't really get into.
You should read it if: You liked Bleach before it became Dragonball
Prequel -or- Making A Cat Cry: The Adventure ⭐
Tumblr media
What is it: An Elder Scrolls fanfiction, in which an alcoholic catgirl heads to a new land to try to make a better life, and generally fails.
The Good: Inventive use of the web as a storytelling medium. Great character writing. Lovable protagonist. Excellent payoff to years or life kicking the protagonist in the face.
The Bad: Years of life kicking the protagonist in the face. Can thus be depressing, especially early on, sometimes to the point of being offensive (see Content Warnings)
The Terrible: Very slow and irratic update schedule
Content Warnings: Alcoholism, Depression, the protagonist gets blackout drunk and wakes up in bed next to strange men several times, which is played for comedy.
You should read it if: You like slow burn character development. You like stories where the protagonist has a hard time
Problem Sleuth
Tumblr media
What is it: A detective tries to leave his office using user-submitted commands, and gets in a few tangents along the way. Mostly known now as “The thing Andrew Hussie did before Homestuck”, but it was a popular comic in its own right.
The Good: Much better art than most reader-driven comics, bizarre and clever, with a dramatic finish.
The Bad: Holy shit, you thought Homestuck meandered? Problem Sleuth will do nearly anything and everything readers asked him to do, and this is a veeeeeery convoluted comic that has thus aged somewhat poorly.
You should read it if: You thought Homestuck was best before the Trolls got involved.
Questionable Content
Tumblr media
What is it: Humanity achieves a technological utopia in the background while hipsters in Massachusetts complain about their dating lives. Later begins focusing much more heavily on all the robots.
The Good: A rotating menagerie of quirky cute girls. Had a major trans character before it was cool.
The Bad: The comic kind of transitions from being about one thing to being about another thing several times, to the point where onetime protagonists show up less and less or even get dropped altogether in favor of the New Thing the comic is.
You should read it if: You want a comfy and diverse slice-of-life comic.

last song I listened to: I listen to music all the time, currently listening to Black Moon Rising by Falconer, really solid power metal group, one of the folks I'd suggest for people interested in checking out power metal. I'd also suggest Orden Organ and Sabaton, also solid groups with a sound I think is like peak power metal.
currently reading: I'm actually not often currently reading things, I'm a fairly quick reader, so I'm done with most things in a couple days. There's a couple of ways of splitting this, and since it is a get to know you thing, I'll just do them all. Book - The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson - I've been meaning to read this one for ages but it was never available at the library (and going to the bookstore is Dangerous) until I checked on a whim and the ebook was available so I said fuck it. Webcomic - I read all of the Sword Interval last night, it was very good, fucks big time. It's got that urban fantasy shit, which I go ham for. Fanfic - Synovus by Wingedcat13 is currently open in one of my many chrome tabs for a reread, although I haven't started that yet. I should start that reread soon. Strong recommend for fans of superheroes/superpowers and queer stuff and shit. I really love that series it clicks so much in my brain.
currently watching: I've been watching miraculous ladybug with my best friend and every once in a while sitting down for mha w/ my partner. I don't really watch much on my own aside from like, hockey. I really should watch and read more, being the main writer and host of a podcast about writing and fanfic, but uh, undergrad be like that.
currently obsessed with: unfortunately, miraculous ladybug (again). That and hockey. One of my friends wrote a hockey au a while back and there was so much passion for the sport in it, I decided to check it out last year. And uh, now I have way too many seattle kraken jerseys. Okay I feel a little cheap saying the same thing twice so uh I've also been playing far too much rainbow 6 siege for my own good (this is any amount of rainbow) and trying very hard to not think about the multiple papers I'm attempting to get published this semester.

Floraverse + Glitchedpuppet's Abusive History Masterlist
General Good Sources:
The House That Monsters Built
7 Part documentary series on Glitchedpuppet, PMD-E, and Floraverse's troubled history of child exploitation, animal exploitation, and abuse.
floraverseisacult.com
An overview of on Glitchedpuppet, PMD-E, and Floraverse's troubled history of child exploitation, animal exploitation, and abuse but in a website format. Includes sources to back up every claim made, examples of how Scenes are a toxic practice, and an explanation on Floraverse's cult tendencies.
A Timeline of Events
A general time line of Glip's informed complicity in Marl's sex crimes against animals and children. If you don't want to spend a lot of time reading about this, then this post is the one to click on.
Names / Pronouns
Glitchedpuppet / Glip / Papayakitty / Ash - They/Them
Eevee / LexyEevee / Veekun / Squishfox - She/Her
Pengosolvent / Pengo - He/Her
Opa / opaopa13 / Tem - He/They
Iz / Woz / W0z / TanukiBathhouse - They/Them
Marl Sexually Abused Minors & Animals
[cw: Beastiality, Pedophilia]
➳ Lain's Story
➳ Rootie's Story
➳ Chat logs between Marl and Big Fluff
Glip was Aware that Marl was Sexually Abusing Animals
[cw: Beastiality]
➳ Marl convinced Glip to be filmed engaging in beastiality.
➳ Marl convinced Glip to engage in beastiality a second time.
➳ Exty had informed Glip that Marl showed them pornography of their pet dog Apollo in 2013 after Marl cheated on Glip with Exty.
➳ Eevee was likely aware that Marl was sexually abusing the family dog Apollo and children in her IRC too and choose to protect him. ➳ Apollo was walking around their home with mittens on his front paws, a common practice to prevent a dog from scratching someone when mounting.
Weird Zoophilic / Pedophilic / Sex Pest interest Glip + Eevee has shown
➳ Glip has a grooming fetish for showing children pornographic content by an "experienced person" and "innocence being broken".
➳ Glip's cat Twigs would try to essentially perform oral sex on them and this happened enough times that Marl became jealous of the cat. During PMD-E, there was a marriage arc & Porn between Glips self insert character and a Persian named after Twigs.
➳ Eevee avoids labeling her fetish game as a fetish game and advertises it to the Floraverse server full of minors.
➳ Glip has drawn feral porn and references photos of animal genitalia for their porn art.
➳ Eevee's weird ass decade long tendency of "accidentally" defending child porn, incest, and zoophilia. ➳ Glip believes that people can "let themselves be raped" and is sympathetic to the rapists in these situations. Glip described a character who was bound and gagged without consent, who states outright 'This is not what I came here for' as an example of a character who "let themselves be raped."
Other examples / stories of people being abused or berated by Glip or their inner circle
➳ Opa - at the time 37, convinced a 19 year old Jolly to move across state lines to live with with him. He exposed his genitalia to Jolly within a week of them moving in. Opa ended up evicting Jolly leading to Jolly attempting suicide twice.
➳ Rina's zine on how they where abused by the Floraverse community. Talks about how Iz/W0z ("The Predator") groomed her and created a visual novel depicting her COCSA story and her being raped by a doll.
➳ Pengo, Phoebe, and Japhet berated bring-out-the-dead over the span of several days, almost causing Boo to attempt suicide.
➳ Glips tendency to depict cruel caricatures of people in their webcomic.
➳ Pengo and Glip ganging up on and harassing someone in the server over sharing a personal poem. ➳ Kasran berates Bex for recognizing they where being abused and leaving the community & Glips caricatures of Bex that where put into Floraverse.
➳ Pengo harassed someone and initiated a server dogpile - bullying them for making a joke about banana juice.
➳ A user in the floraverse server talks about going through some personal trauma and leaves. Glip + Pengo ban and psychoanalyze the user in a cruel way after they leave for using the wrong emoji.
➳ Roleplaying a court-hearing to humiliate and ban Nichole. ➳ Pengo and Glip ganging up on and harassing someone for not roleplaying properly in the community.
➳ Eevee refers to 2 of the children Marl sexually abused (Lain and Big Fluff) as just 'kiwifarmers'.
➳ Glip and Pengo berated someone for being uncomfortable that someone who doxed them was allowed in the Floraverse community.
Glip is extremely cruel to victims of abuse when the abuser is someone they like
➳ Glip & Eevee slandered Lain over the span of years and called them a "fucking parasite" because the 13 year old spoke out about Marl sending her photos of dog genitalia - while knowing Marl was a zoo. [cw: Beastiality, Pedophilia]
➳ Glip thinks Opa shouldn't have called 911 because Jolly, the "deadly parasite" attempted suicide and "who cares if the deadly parasite dies". [cw: Suicide]
➳ Glip happily hosts the visual novel Iz made of Rina's COCSA that depicts them as a doll and gets raped on their porn site. They also lie about this visual novel being about Rina's COCSA story and being about Rina despite Iz admitting to both being true. [cw: Rape]

Welcome to Sena’s Adventures!
A webcomic set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender
With new characters, locations, and lore!
Tumblr media
The Government Building in Shun Fei, one of the three independent city states
The story takes place 165 years after the original story, with a completely different world building than Legend of Korra. (Yes, this comic is a sequel to AtLA and not LoK.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Life in Shun Fei is a little bit different than how things used to be.
As for the main character of the story, it is Sena, a 12 year-old, non-bender boy. He is a bookworm and mostly annoyed with his life.
Tumblr media
>>Click here to start reading from page 1
You can also read ahead by subscribing to my Patreon! (Edit: This is currently not the case as I am no longer ahead of schedule. But if you’d be interested in that, please let me know.)
Now, please let me tell you a little bit about how this comic came to be!
I was a die-hard fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender as a kid, and that love has never died. I've always felt that Avatar's world was so lush and alive, that so many unique stories could be born from it. And even the most simple and humble ones would be infinitely interesting.
You definitely don't have to agree with me, but I was personally disappointed with how things went after the first series, meaning with both LoK and the comics (which I must admit I've never watched or read in entirety). For one thing, I couldn't come to terms with how Avatar's world had changed so much and became a lot more like our own world. So I asked, "If it were me, how would I write it?" And that's how this comic came to be.
( Despite this, I really hope that LoK fans will still enjoy my story as an AU! )
Sena's Adventures, at its core, is meant to be a story which examines the complex spiritual problems that arise from modernization. AtLA did something very similar, but through the framework of imperialism and war. Sena's Adventures on the other hand, takes place in a peaceful time. And even though its world is technologically far less advanced than that of LoK, it still carries the seed of a conflict between "reason and magic".
I wanted this story to feel simple and naive, like a children’s story. I really like that about AtLA and I believe many others do too, despite our biological ages.
Please enjoy Sena’s story!
( I’m really excited for the other main characters to be revealed, but it will take a while! )

Hello, I'm currently in the process of switching over to Firefox, and was wondering if you could help me with something. One big feature I am painfully missing from Chrome, is being able to group tabs together in collapsible categories. I have terrible ADHD and frequently need to leave groups of tabs open for multiple days until I can get back to them. I'm currently running Tree-Style Tabs extension, but it's not quite what I want Do you know of any plugins/extensions that can provide similar functionality to Chrome's tab grouping? Thanks!
Okay so at the moment i'm using Simple Tab Grouping, which appears to do what you're looking for but I just have to give you a word of caution that if you open a group of tabs in a window that you haven't created a group from it closes all the tabs in that window, which is how I lost like fifty of my open tabs (which, LBR, was probably a good thing).
I've been using it for a couple of weeks and so far it's really handy, especially combined with multi-account containers.
So for instance I've got tumblr open in a catch-all group which is where I go for random bullshit like webcomics and digging around wikipedia and reading the news and general internet surfing stuff; I have a separate group that is just youtube videos and any time i open a youtube video in a different group I move it to that other group so I don't clutter up my other groups. I have a "work" group which is where I keep work stuff and where I'm logged in with my work container accounts and I have a "fandom" group where I've got a bunch of ao3 tabs open and i'm logged into cryptpad and have WIPs open.
If I open a new window that new window doesn't go into a group unless i make it go into the group and if I'm in a new window and I select a group from the menu it opens those tabs in that window and closes anything that wasn't part of a group; if i'm in an open window in my "work" group and select my youtube group it opens all the youtube tabs in that window and exits out of the work tabs but the work tabs are preserved and i can just as easily switch back to them.
So what this means at this point is that instead of keeping eight windows with about 150 manually sorted tabs up at all times, I have three windows with about 10 tabs up at all times and I can open 10 other windows with different tabs in a few keystrokes.
I'm sure that doesn't explain anything actually, but Simple Tab Grouping is working out well for me and seems to do the thing you're describing but you'll want to play with it before you decide to stick with it and make sure you've got a record of any tabs you need to keep before you start clicking through stuff because oof.

A GHOST STORY HAS (NOT) UPDATED!! THE AUTHOR IS DEAD....TIRED.
TODAY’S UPDATE: HERE START THIS CHAPTER: HERE START FROM THE TOP: HERE
Tumblr media
first, because of how flighty i've been with updates, i would like to encourage you to use an RSS feed reader and add the "a ghost story" RSS feed to it by clicking "find feeds in page" or "add new feed" and entering www.aghoststorycomic.com/. or dragging and dropping it if you use a different RSS feed reader. rss feeds are how the ancients used to navigate the web and through it they knew when things updated immediately. using an RSS feed has 2 major benefits: 1. you can get updates without having to use any social media or following my social media. 2. you can keep up with the comic when updates get sporadic without having to hopefully remember to check it some day in the future.
second, i do not like to advertise the patreon when i am behind on rewards and have been unable to deliver anything of interest beyond comic pages for a while, but consider throwing a buck a month at me to see pages a month early. that's something.
i realize that webcomics really need reliability to survive, so i'm genuinely so annoyed and so unhappy that i'm in this situation. i toughed it out as long as i could, but this final leg has been the fucking pits. it sucks. effexor is a notorious nightmare of an antidepressant to get off of and boy were they not kidding. i'm down to a quarter pill doses, but my body is rampaging because i'm not dosing it with the norepinephrine treat its become accustomed to. its never so much that i'm like, in acute physical or mental distress, its just bad enough that it makes working consistently hard. i had a buffer up until this last month when it was completely used up because i was too busy thinking about how bad my entire face hurt. or how my eyes felt like they were vibrating out of my skull.
i started effexor two years ago and was on a pretty high dose. i got the most bizarre and unpleasant side effects on this drug and the reason i didn't do anything about it was because the drug's primary effect was to instill me with a sense of overwhelming apathy. this is a great effect (intentional? i'm not sure) to have when the symptom you were trying to treat was "unbearable anxiety". not joking, it worked incredibly well for at least getting me mentally back to a baseline level of sane. after that, though, with nothing irrational to be apathetic about, my brain decided that household chores, basic hygiene, and my job were pointless and stupid or unpleasant. food tasted bad. not bland, bad. showers felt annoying instead of relaxing. i would look at the dishes piling up in the sink, the barest minimum i should be doing around the house on a daily basis to maintain a comfortable living space and would think "well that is just impossible".
but i was also putting up with a lot of stupid shit from my body. it made my right hand fingers and lower back feel distractingly stiff. my lip was split for a year straight and would re-open every time i opened my mouth. my nose and gums had open sores. i got a rash on my face that lead me down a rabbit hole for months trying to figure out if i do or don't have lupus (i dont)(neat). i would get insomnia so bad i would be up for 36 hours regularly, but i was too tired to get anything done. and with the withdrawals i would get all of those and as an added bonus i got to enjoy body aches that felt like bruises all over my body. they hurt so bad that laying on the couch was uncomfortable as a consequence of newton's third law. and i'd have weird meltdowns about the cats hating me (?). i am only boring you with all of this whining to try to explain the amount of distractions i was fending off while still trying to be a productive member of a household, experiencing common adulthood problems galore (basement....), and trying to create comics for you and for me. i am telling you this because it sucked, and sucks, so bad.
on top of everything else, the impact the effexor has had on my creativity has been eye-opening. i realized there was a correlation between my dosages increasing and my ability to draw nosediving. the "impossible" feeling of the dishes carried over to my comic work which got lazier and worse and i knew it and it was frustrating. there is a special kind of shame and guilt you develop when you charge someone for something you know is not your best work, just the best you could do in the moment. or when you are just sitting in front of your computer staring at it blankly and thinking about how much you'd like to draw if only it wasn't the hardest thing in the world. you feel like a lazy sack of shit, knowing that there is nothing physically preventing you from working. your brain simply cannot make
i started the weaning process in i think november so am pretty much on track for this to actually be over soon. there's light at the end of the tunnel. its happening. and there are bright moments in between doses where i can actually do things. like right now! i drew this very easily instead of being in hell for hours. but these precious moments are short lived until the withdrawal symptoms start up and i have to take another pill that nerfs me.
anyway APRIL 6th! dont forget me or ill cry.

Read this before requesting!
Tumblr media
Hello and welcome to my little edit blog! You can call me Miku! I enjoy editing and have nothing to do with what I edit so I'll put stuff here occasionally. I also take requests! Please forgive me if I'm slow with answering requests, this is my first time running a blog like this. ^^;;

Tumblr media
Anyone is free to request and use my edits, on any site you wish! You also do not have to credit, though it is of course appreciated. However please do not claim my edits as your own or reupload them elsewhere! if needed, please link back to the original post.
*Extra note, any gifs I upload from now will be uploaded in both .gif and .webp formats. webp is much higher quality than gifs, and tumblr supports webp well enough that you can apply one as your header with no issues. You will however need to click on the webps for them to animate, as the thumbnails are static. As not many sites support webp, you can use the .gif versions of my edits there instead.
Tumblr media
Thank you for visiting, have a lovely day!

No offense taken! The Skybox is an original webcomic that I worked on for about uh...seven+ years, and finished back around 2020 or so. You can read it here! (Skip the first page since that's a just teaser done in Flash, and obviously Flash doesn't work anymore.)
And I'm sorry, but I don't really think that I can do Skybox on tumblr. Since the format is designed after an animatic, it's designed to be clicked through quickly. And since there's thousands of images, that just...is not workable, especially with tumblr's 10-image limit on posts. The site does work fine on mobile, though! You can tap through the images there just by hitting one half or the other of each image.

Some law of talos facts and info off the top of my head (by someone who's very hyper fixated and wants people to know more about it!!!!)
Apparently some people just didn't know that law of talos was an oc tournament 😭??? I thought that was basic info but I guess not! I'm not counting it being a tournament as a fact but more people not knowing (also some people didn't know unknown person had comics for before and after each animation??? There's literally YouTube videos with both idk what to tell you guys 💀)
Unknown persons entries are the most popular, but the 5th animation is non canon! The canon ending was by the winner Blacklillian but it's currently lost media :( there's a description of it on the lost media page, a few meantions of plot points on the tv tropes (example)
Tumblr media
An ask + drawing related to what happened to Karl after on unknown person's tumblr (unknownpsn) we can also gather a tiny bit from the winner announcement post comments, the main point I've noticed is people talking about their disappointment in the lack of action and badly done Karl but praising the more satisfying ending. There was also apparently an epilogue by Blacklillian but that is also currently lost :(
Blacklillians entrees (along with the majority of others) are lost media! Some info can be gathered/interpreted from the lost media page and the tv tropes page (both linked at the bottom along with the intro/winner post for the contest and the wiki) A few entries are up although it's few and far between but I do encourage you to look for them on competitors' deviant art pages (I'll edit this and add list who's is up in a little while) here's a chart of the tournament though!
Tumblr media
Here's chimbley's reference page which is the only known piece for his portion at the moment (please lmk if more has been found) *update you can buy the official chimbley archive on the artist Iris Jay's patreon for just 5 dollars :3 !!!!!
Tumblr media
Chimbley's creator does have Twitter+tumblr but no longer makes content for him so savor what we have. We do know from the tv tropes page that chimbley was more flight than fight and all his competitors were disqualified rather than beaten in a combat (makes me giggle really hard ngl 😭)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Climber and Karl (and Rachel + Clarice obviously) are both part of the unreleased.... comic? Series? (Whatever it was going to be!) Called Castle of nations by unknown person (ofc)! There's not a ton known about it as the actual media was never released/finished and unknown person stopped posting in 2016 but there's lots asks + content on his tumblr if you want to look into it some
Karl was not going to wish for Rachel back despite common misconception! According to unknown person he was actually going to wish for an unlimited power supply to escape the amusement park permanently
There's a silly joke cosplay video called "law of talos chimbley vs Karl live action" that's available on the internet archive but someone uploaded the whole thing on tik tok (linked here) chimbley does a heel click at 8:22 i feel it's important everyone see it.
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRgK62j8/
People have also been uploading the voice actors singing various Christmas songs in character I haven't seen them all but I know Karl's video (What's this- the nightmare before Christmas) is pretty available and a clip of Chimbley's (little drummer boy) as also recently been uploaded. I think I saw Steffi's at one point but I don't remember it like at all sorry (EDJT I FOUND IT GUYS I'LL LINK IT BECAUSE IT'S HARDER TO FIND THAN THE OTHER TWO I MENTIONED)
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRgw7FhS/
Speaking of Steffi!!!!! She stars in her very own webcomic "Kiwi Blitz"!!! I'll link it here :3
That's all I can think of for rn I'll make another post if I get more info on the lost media or if I think/learn anything else!!! Here are the links to the law of talos intro/winner post, lost media page, wiki, and TV tropes!!! Once again I encourage you to look through them if you haven't!!!
