shep!!!! yes i absolutely do LOL. i get the worst imposter syndrome, especially being new on here. you are not alone and if anything, as someone who’s read your writing, you’re not a fraud and incredibly gifted, please trust me

i wouldn’t say it comes easily bc i suffer from writers block and imposter syndrome like every single other person who writes, but i just let myself get caught up in my hcs of whoever i’m writing about. i’ll be sitting there and think “this is rly hot” and let myself get carried away. also no shame that i read other fics and hc’s and look at fan art and get inspiration from them, like a random headcanon of eren the other day from @fictional-d-supremacy made me realize it was SO something plug!eren would do and got me to finish chap 5 of ‘much ado’ and a taylor swift song is to thank for the updated chapter of my reiner x oc fic

fic 1: i've got a star trek au in the works!! eli as captain, daniel as acting first officer, a collection of the rest of the team sprinkled throughout the bridge crew (with shep as dj's bestie because that's just Essential). there's about 20k+ of it so far, and i have soooo much left to write bc i moved to other ideas, but it's technically in the works 😬

fic 2: i have about 40k+ written of an alternate-reality 2022 nfl season (w judge still as HC because lowkey thats a hill i will die on 💔) where daniel develops hanahaki disease. the fic follows him through the season & into the postseason as he grapples w it and not being able to voice that it's eli doing it to him. it's real fucked up

im currently hyperfixating on f1 but im going to be coming back to these and eventually putting em on ao3 😵‍💫

Favorite game:hhhhhhhh Fallout New Vegas really solidified my dream of becoming a game dev. God I love that game SO MUCH. Also Journey...and Destiny. but FNV is the #1

Game you’ve played through multiple times: I replay a lot of games (mostly my favorites) multiple times so there's too many to list. However, I do play Fallout: New Vegas every year because its my favorite video game of all time and I CANNOT shut up abt it. I also really enjoy playing Pokémon soul silver. I’m currently in the process of replaying the entire DA trilogy, and Pokémon white.

Game you hated at first but now love: Apex! God I did not enjoy apex when I first started playing it bc yknow battle royals were new and do have a bit of a learning curve to ‘em. I fucking love Apex now though

How come the rest of the gang isnt aware of their fans?

Tali read the question out loud, for the whole “gang” to hear. It was virtually pointless though, as most of them were entrenched in their dinner anyway.

“I wouldn’t say you’re not aware. You’re not the brightest bulbs in the bunch but you can’t be that thickheaded, either. Especially since some of them send you suspiciously regular mail and stuff.”, Tali answered, mostly addressing herself to the Normandy walls and to Gardner. Ah, Gardner. Always conspicuously trying to appear inconspicuous while listening for any dirt on members of the crew.

“Tali, we joined the Normandy squad fan forum. You know that.”, Shepard grumbled, frustratingly stabbing her peas.

Garrus chuckled slightly from next to her, to which she responded with an objectively painful kick to the helpless turian’s shin, and a murderous glare.

Then the whole thing came back to Tali, and she started audibly giggling as well, rejoicing in the fact that she was a safe distance away from the angry commander.

Throwback to a few months earlier. Tali had just stepped into the cargo bay, ready for another mission, but as she looked around, she found only Garrus, leaning back against the Hammerhead, fiddling with his datapad. She shrugged, realising they were both probably early, and she thought there would be no better opportunity to hone her turian-pestering skills than while waiting for Shepard to waltz them off towards more danger. He was so entrenched in what he was doing that he didn’t notice her until she cheerfully plucked the datapad from his grasp.

Sneaky quarian snooper: 1, Her victim, now with increased trust issues: 0.

While he was exclaiming with surprise, Tali examined the screen in front of her.

“…Galactic Ass-Kickers United?”

Garrus flicked his mandibles in annoyance, swiping his datapad back and holding it above his head.

Self-elected Normandy midget representative: 1, Tall turian asshole: 1.

Normally, Tali would give him another type of well-deserved kick to the shin for this blatant abuse of his freaky height, but right now she was too curious as to why Garrus was browsing an online nerd forum.

“It’s, uh, it’s what some people call us. Apparently.”, he said sheepishly.

“Us?”

“You, me, everyone who went after Saren.”

“Oh.”

A few moments of uncomfortable silence passed. Tali was pondering his words, Garrus was still warily holding the datapad above her reach. Until he suddenly felt his earlier assholery get repaid tenfold when the quarian forcefully stomped on his foot, causing him to double over with a groan, which prompted Tali to swiftly rid him of his precious possession. Again.

Everyone that isn’t Garrus: 2, Garrus: -25684.

With Garrus’ whines as relaxing background noises, Tali looked through the site, its threads and topics, until the realisation dawned on her.

“Garrus, how long have you been a part of our official fan forum?”

“First off, that was a cheap move, second off, why’s it matter?”

“OhmygodhaveyouseenthisfanartGarrusKeelah”, she exclaimed in one breath.

Dismissing her suit’s inner ventilation system for not having enough dramatic effect, Tali fanned herself, admiring a smutty piece of work depicting Shepard, Garrus and herself.

“Spirits, Tali, I don’t go looking for it!”

“How come your inbox isn’t totally full of spam from our dedicated fans, then?”, she asked, looking over his sparse chat boxes with various members.

Most of his interactions were quite tame. He left witty remarks on most discussions, and chatted harmlessly with a few users about nothing in particular.

“Probably because they don’t know who I really am. To them, I’m simply TheLegend27.”, he declared, a bit too confidently for someone who chose TheLegend27 as a username.

Tali snorted, still shamelessly going through his activity log.

He seemed to engage with one forum user specifically. Almost every comment Garrus posted was somehow in relation to one Quads_of_fury. Tali tapped on his latest notification, which brought her to a thread entitled “NORMANDY CREW MOST LIKELY TOs”. And, although the thread itself was a goldmine, a certain inspired username caught Tali’s attention.

Quads_of_fury, 4:36 CT: most likely to spend all their credits on stupid shit?? i vote kaidan. he looks like the kind of guy who would literally start crying happy tears when he sees a lush shop

 Interestingly enough, Kaidan had swooned at the sight of the intergalactic bath bomb. He broke down, actually. Two times. Two times Tali had to almost completely physically restrain him so he didn’t waste his credits away on soaps and perfumes and lotions and OK they all smelled really good, but Tali was taught better than to give in to Satan like that. She wasn’t weak. Not to insinuate that Kaidan was. He was just really, really, into self-care products. Tali pictured the value of property damage they’d have to cover when Kaidan’s tears eventually flooded the lush shop, setting off all of the bath bombs at the same time.

She shuddered.

Naturally, TheLegend27 had something to say to Quads_of_fury.

TheLegend27, 4:38 CT: I vote Shepard. Mostly because I’ve actually stumbled into her at the supermarket. I could only stare in awe as I watched her pay for a disco ball helmet, a ketchup gun and glow in the dark toilet paper.

 Tali snickered, turning towards Garrus.

“Does Shepard know you’re shamelessly backstabbing her on the extranet?”

“Oh, please. She should’ve expected it.”

Tali clicked on Garrus’ most recently created thread: “Shepard is fuckin short. Discuss”. She put it in her “Stuff To Shamelessly Blackmail Garrus With” mental folder.

“Nevermind, I know she doesn’t know because if she did she’d have killed you by now.”, she stated matter-of-factly.

He just looked at her strangely, his mandibles flaring in what she came to recognize as the turian equivalent of a smile. Confused, she decided his cryptic looks could suck it, and she resumed her activities.

Quads_of_fury, 4:50 CT: ok first off RUDE second off shes not fuckin short her online bio says shes 5’4” shes AVERAGE honestly and even if she was short who cares shes like the badassest person ever rn and these kinds of threads just undermine her authority so to conclude. u suck @TheLegend27

 Tali was moved to tears. Honestly. Quads_of_fury’s speech would make Shepard proud.

TheLegend27, 4:56 CT: *She’s 5’2”. **Which is short even for a human. ***The most badass

 The next thread was entitled “Shepard Appreciation Thread”.

Honestly Tali’s blackmail folder was having a field day.

She scrolled down to a piece of fanart depicting the crew, with Shepard as a focal point, happily crying while hugging Liara.

Quads_of_fury, 3:23 CT: false shepard does not cry

TheLegend27, 3:24 CT: Except when you point out the fact that elcor don’t wear shoes, then she spirals into depression

 It was a universal certainty that Shepard was never going to live that down. The one time she decided getting drunk was a good idea, after finally saving the galaxy, she got filmed by a bunch of curious teenagers. Honestly, the entire crew was pretty hammered, but when they started waxing philosophical about different species, Shepard had an epiphany, and no amount of alcohol would ever help her forget the vid of her sobbing at the thought of elcor rubbing their nasty feet-hands on every public bathroom floor. The extranet was a cruel and unforgiving mistress.

“So like… Are you going out of your way to personally victimize this user? Are they like your forum crush or something?”, Tali asked, finally tearing her eyes away from TheLegend27’s forum drama.

Garrus smirked at her again, then, without answering, turned around to greet Shepard herself, finally showing up, ready for another day of dodging bullets.

As they climbed into the shuttle, Tali felt him bend down, mouth closing in on her ear.

“You’ll see.”, he said, passionately typing away on his datapad.

Fast forward to dinner time, when Tali had all but forgotten about Garrus’ extranet vendetta against Quads_of_fury. Until the commander walked in, fashionably late once more, brows meeting in a small, frustrated knot.

“Who pissed in your cereal, huh?”, Jack inquisitively jabbed an elbow at her, careful not to drop her own bowl of cereal.

“This random extranet dickbrain. It’s no big deal, they’re just really annoying.”

“Oh, really? What sites are you surfing these days, Shep?”, Kasumi innocently piped in, giving Garrus, who was sitting right next to Tali, a knowing wink.

“Uhm, you know. Fan forums. And stuff. I’m interested in what people think of us.”

Shepard had her back to Tali, but the quarian was certain her face was now doing that distinctly human thing, when it became redder than the N7 stripe.

“I’m a member of your fan forum too, actually. Who’s bothering you? Is it TheLegend27?”, the thief pressed on.

Tali wanted to die.

“Yeah? How’d you know?”

“Who’s TheLegend27?”, Jack asked, her words just as dripped in confusion.

“Some say TheLegend27 is the first forum user ever. Born from fire.”

“I heard, TheLegend27 can never get banned, because they always come back.”, Garrus casually added.

“I heard TheLegend27 once locked an entire thread with a single roast.”, Joker joined in.

“But the worst part is, just when you think you’re safe”, Kasumi went on, ”just when you think you might escape… WHAM!!! Just like that! You get trolled.”

When everyone around the mess table faked a collective gasp, she sank even deeper in her suicidal disposition.

“I hate literally all of you.”, she caught herself saying, but she was cut off by the sound of Shepard’s datapad notification.

She checked it, slowly, then very suddenly her head snapped up to Garrus, who was cheerfully typing away, just as another notification sound pierced the tense silence.

Shepard didn’t advance, not before getting a tall glass and filling it with cold water. Then, as she menacingly started approaching Garrus, raising her glass like a weapon, all Tali could think was, he had it coming.

“This is a good time for you to become a missing person, Vakarian.”

Yep. Definitely had it coming.

i havent done a wip thing in a bit bc ive been stupid busy and my writing has been messy and not very snip-able. but i just found this thing i was working on a while ago that exists in the nothing equals the splendor universe (aka gbbo au). the working title is "instagram husband" which makes me laugh. no spoilers for the fic except that like ya... simon and baz end up together. big surprise lmfao.

I lean over Baz’s shoulder as he scrolls through the photos he took, marking the best shots with a heart so he can find them later.

“These are great,” I say. “You’re a good photographer.”

“I’ve got an easy subject,” Baz says, smirking. Simon has stopped paying attention. He’s trying to choose between a purple bowling ball and a black one with silver sparkles.

“Actually, Simon usually looks like shit in photos.” I say it loudly enough for Simon to hear. He looks over his shoulder, laughing. “He’s always doing a weird thing with his eyes. Or moving so much that he’s blurry.”

“Penny says I’m made to be seen in motion,” Simon says, lining up at the top of the lane. “That’s why she thought television would be good for me.”

Baz tilts his head to the side, considering. Then he opens up the Instagram app and puts the camera on the Boomerang function. He starts recording as Simon winds up, capturing the moment Simon releases the ball in a smooth, repeating loop. It looks sick — the flashing neon lights of the bowling alley catch in Simon’s hair and in the sparkles on his ball. His eyes are determined, but his lips are quirked up in a little smile.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Simon pouting up at the scoreboard. He didn’t get a strike this time. Good. That was starting to get freaky. But Baz and I are ignoring his mini tantrum, transfixed by the Boomerang looping back and forth on his phone.

“Penelope Bunce is a genius,” Baz says, saving the Boomerang and starting a new post on Simon’s account. I smile, patting him on the shoulder.

“Cheers to that.”

anyway, i was reminded of this because i'm writing a different scene where baz takes simon's photo rn. and also im soft for bake off universe, so even tho i don't think i'll get to finishing this for a while (there's a tricky bit of the narrative that i don't have the inspiration to fix yet), i wanted to give these versions of the characters some love n appreciation haha

EPISODE 9: HOW DUMB DO THESE PEOPLE THINK I AM ~Darian

Okay I feel like I haven't even done a real confessional all season but I haven't had too much going on this whole game until now. I've been in a few alliances but every vote I've been part of has been a unanimous vote (even my poor Coffey cakes :( <3) then Logan quit last vote right as it was about to get messy. So basically right now Ned and I seem to be at the center of this tribe. He's my number one right now for the most part. I trust Ned 100% and I'm pretty sure the feelings mutual. We've both mentioned how we're each others number ones and stuff but I also adore Keegan. I seem to tell him a lot of stuff without even thinking about it and he could also be my potential number but I don't know where his head is at in terms of that. I think he trusts me since he told me about Darian's idol before Darian did and some other stuff that happened but like I don't think I would be his number one.

Okay so anyways! I'm in this alliance with Daisy, Ned, Josh, and Sara. Logan was there, too but they quit (which sucked because I love Logan and am literally only in this alliance because I adore Logan). And we came up with a plan to vote out Darian but he found out and was gunna play his idol. Then we decided that Carson would be the back up plan but then Carson found about that, too. After Logan quit, Daisy came to me telling me how she thinks that Sara is the one who leaked the info to Darian and Carson. Now let me tell you, I actually laughed so hard because I know for a fact that Sara gives approximately negative 12 shits about this game and I've seen her say that the only reason she won't quit is because she doesn't want to leave me, Ned, and Daisy alone. But obviously I didn't say anything because it was actually Ned and I leaking all of the info but now us three have our own separate alliance that we're part of that I actually really like.

So then Ned and I are over on the old Andaman alliance which I like because I love Keegan but I don't care about Darian or Carson honestly. But I want to keep Keegan safe and the best way to do that is just to keep that whole alliance safe. That's really hard because Darian is honestly one of the hardest people to work with. He can be a really nice guy sometimes and I think sometimes he means well but like I could tell him he has to pay me every time it snows and Maine and I'd probably be a billionaire. He literally believes everything everyone tells him. He thought that Daisy was going to flip and vote for Logan and he thought that Logan was going to vote for Daisy. Even AFTER I told him that I thought those two were really close and that they were basically best friends on Nicobar. But like of course he didn't believe it, he just told me that Daisy was on the bottom and desperate. Like no why believe someone who has been on a tribe with them and actually observed their behavior when you could just take the word of someone you've literally just met? Sounds about right to me (eye roll emoji).

But for this next vote as long as Alex doesn't win I think he's gone because frankly who is he? Like the first night we merged I tried to talk to him and he just said "hey its been a long day I'm heading to bed but we'll talk later" and then proceeded to talk in the tribe chat so that right there makes me not want to talk to him again so I didn't. And he hasn't reached out to me at all so like whatever. Him going is the best possible scenario for me especially since it could break up anything Keegan and Darian have. I don't know how close they actually are but he does agree that Darian's gullible and says stupid things sometimes. I think that he would eventually want him out because he could be bad for our games. So yeah if Alex doesn't win Daisy, Ned, and I are going to get Keegan to vote with us which he's on board with even after I told him that Darian isn't too hot on the idea. Apparently Alex doesn't like Keegan so I think that's why he wants him out so bad. I want him gone because Alex is the only person I'm not aligned with. But yeah so if Ned, Daisy, Keegan, and I vote for Alex, Darian, Carson, and possibly Alex all vote together (probably for Daisy), then Sara and Josh vote for Darian then it'll be a 4-3-2 for Alex and it'll be awesome. I do think that I'll go to Sara last minute and say 'hey Daisy wanted to leave you out of the plan because she thinks you're spilling stuff to Darian but you should vote for Alex' so I can get Sara on my side. But this whole plan is contingent on Alex not winning immunity so if he wins again I'm gunna scream. I'm also gunna cry and laugh because how can he know the answers to any of this if he literally doesn't talk to anyone?

Well, the reward was given out to someone from the other alliance so that's nice! But luckily Logan walked so we didn't have to have that messy af tribal. I still don't trust daisy after her lying to my face!

So remember how day one I found an idol. Well I've kept it in my little pocket all this time. And now I've still got it. AND THE MERGE IDOL!!!! That's right baby two idols!!! This is going to be lit

We just did Touchy Subjects, and I got some pretty good results. People voted me as "too nice to play this game" and the person they'd most want to take on a romantic date, which tells me two things: everyone likes me, and everyone underestimates me. Perfect. That's exactly where I want to be. I've been in a season where I voted out my #1 ally and won every immunity until the end, sweeping the jury. If these people knew how I played, they would have gotten rid of me before we even swapped. Buckle up, everyone- this roller coaster is about to take off.

Touchy Subjects was just as fun as I expected it to be. The only answer I was majority for was "Playing for second". If that's how people perceive me, awesome. I'm not a major threat to win and it seems likely people will want to take me to the end as a goat. Jokes on them, I'm way more than that.

Apparently Alex won the reward though, which gives him an advantage that lets him challenge someone for their spot in the game if he's voted out. I'm sorry but that's ridiculous and unfair.

That also throws a wrench into our plan of voting him out. So now the votes are shifting onto Josh and Sara. I guess.

We might have to keep Alex until the F4, which means two of the OG Andaman crew aren't making the F4. That sucks.

So the plan for tonight is Sam, Ned, Daisy and myself all vote for Alexander. If he uses his crazy advantage, it's better for it to be gone now than played later in the game where it can make a bigger difference. If he was lying or doesn't play it, he goes and everything is peachy keen.

The downside of this plan is that we're bringing Daisy in and pushing out Darian and Carson. We'll have to work out some major damage control if the plan goes smoothly.

Okay so the vote tonight might be Alex but I'm spooked it's gonna be me like bye no one really talked to me so I'm like hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm but oh well we will see wat happens

Okay, so this round didn't really seem as a shock with the Touchy Subject, I knew I'd feel like I'm pretty out of the loop (because spoiler I am)

Darian told me he has the idol and I'm like 100% okay with that and working with him. I'll let him think I wanna work with him to the F3 and then boot his ass for being a threat, not gonna lie.

I'm so nervous for tonight's tribal. Alex didn't win which is awesome so we set our plan into motion. Keegan is on board with voting Alex with Ned, Daisy, and I. I told Sara and told her how everyone thinks she's on the other side and wants to leave her out of the loop but I wanted to make sure she knew the vote was for Alex. Hopefully that doesn't bite me in the butt but whatever. The thing that could screw me over though is ALEX'S DUMB ASS ADVANTAGE!!! Apparently he has some advantage that gives him the ability to challenge someone for their spot if he's voted out. That's like some big brother round trip ticket shit which sucks. I know it's a little different because he has to challenge someone but STILL! I'm afraid that he's gunna challenge me just based on the touchy subjects results (which totally outed me as running the game and as the person people want to win if they can't and other ones like that which is nice but damn please don't expose me). Plus Darian might be mad when we voted out Alex so he might tell Alex to challenge one of us. When we first found out we thought about changing our votes to Josh but Daisy doesn't want to. She obviously thinks that he's in her pocket which may be true? Darian says that Josh is voting for Daisy but we'll see when the votes come out. If there is more than one for Daisy it'll be from Josh and we'll know he's a #fake. She made the argument that it may be better to vote for Alex now while there are more people he can challenge like Sara and Josh who aren't as active or good in challenges which actually does make sense. I talked to Keegan about it and he agreed that it would make the most sense that way, too. But something about this whole plan seems to easy and it's making me so nervous. Not easy in the "I know this is all going to work out" type of way but the "we got all of the votes together despite the fact that we know an advantage is probably going to be played" way and that doesn't make sense to me. I feel like something went terribly wrong and I'm about to be voted out. So I just wanted to get one last confessional in if I'm right just say a big fuck you to everyone who flipped on me. But if I'm just being paranoid then fuck you Alex for your stupid advantage. And if I'm wrong about the advantage, too then oops fuck me for being so rude huh?

Our plan went flawlessly. Alex was voted out and used his advantage to challenge Sara, who was not in any major alliance. If he wins, he'll be back in the game, still on the bottom. And he's pissed at Darian for telling me about the advantage. So he'll be out for blood if he makes it back in the game.

This is good and bad for me though. Good because going forward, Daisy and Josh now want to work with me, Sam and Ned. I've got options out the wazoo. But I'm pretty sure I lost Darian as any sort of ally or friend. And if I make it to FTC and he doesn't, I'm unlikely to get his vote.
