So recently, Tumblr broke their ability to follow a reblog chain. This is a problem.

Following a reblog chain now takes you to a popup of that post alone on web, and a permalink view of it alone on mobile.

This is not only a stupid update that nobody asked for, but it also removes a core function necessary for my work here as an archiving blog.

As a blog who collects gifs from deleted blogs, I rely on the ability to go back to people's reblog and then continue to scroll back in time through their blog, where they've likely reblogged more gifs from other deleted blogs! I need this function to do my archiving work, and they've removed it!

And for what? To make things more "intuitive and consistent"?

@staff @changes Please, I am begging you to reverse this update. I can't do my work properly like this. I'm not the only one who's unhappy about this...

Thought I should ask before I did this:

I wanted to use one of your gifs in a stimboard but wanted to recolour(?) it as to match the colour scheme better.

I wanted to know if:

1) If I would be allowed to do that (with credit to your original post)

2) If that's just a generally bad thing to do, and I shouldn't do it to anyone's gifs

I am absolutely okay with stimboard makers recoloring any of the gifs I've made!! All I ask is that you at least link back to the original video or the post those gifs originate from :)

Any gif curators may be different though! As long as you're crediting them you probably won't run into trouble. All of my gifs are a-okay to recolor though!

wanted to work on stimboards today but don't know if i will because i am just really not feeling great :( i woke up at like 2 pm feeling sick after already not sleeping well because i've been so anxious about a few different things. one of those things being that, well, my family took in a stray cat back in february and have been taking the best care of her we could, but a trip to the dentist yesterday revealed that she might be very sick and we can't know for sure because we can't afford the $175 they want us to pay for a test. i'll spare everyone the details but here's a couple photos of her, her name is lily.

there's a chance that she might be okay, but if we notice the signs of her sickness coming back there'll be nothing that can be done to treat it and we'll just lose our cat. we've only had her for a few short months, but she's only a few years old and she's so sweet... sorry, i know i don't normally complain about my problems on here because this is a stim blog, but i am just so worried about lily and it's so frustrating and honestly kind of infuriating to be stuck in this limbo of not being able to just know whether she's literally even going to live for much longer or not because they charge so much for the test!! so this on top of the other things i have anxiety about + not feeling physically well either is just. ruining my ability to do Anything today.

How to make a stimboard/source gifs! (Tutorial for beginners on PC)

Hello guys, today i'll be showing you how to make a stimboard & source gifs

My english isn't good bcuz i am not a native speaker, please correct my grammar in the comments!

First, go to the search bar & type "*insert colour or thing here* stim"

I'll be using pink, orange & lesbian as examples.

Then, reblog them to your blog (it will be an important step later on) and download the gifs you want

Step 2:

Arrange the gifs however you want! :D (It has to be in a 3x3 square like this)

Now adding the credits..

First, do your crediting system like this for example: x/x/x/x/o/x/x/x/x

After you reblogged the gifs you wanted, click on the arrow (share)

After clicking on it, you will see a button called "copy link"

copy the link & repeat the process for all of your gifs

To source a gif, highlight any of the x's and click this option & paste in your link. Repeat the step until you fill all of the x's (and the o if you have a center gif)

Optional: You can put a DNI (Do not interact) banner or even id the gifs! :D
