For y'all's review for the AU: A Prequel Outline - Divorce Saga Domon

Hey real quick - I'm thinking of maybe changing the timeline to 2 years post canon as opposed to 3 years and change post canon.

The reason being: I had a thought that this scene could either be part if the fic or if it's getting to big then it could be a stand alone tie-in prequel fic as part of this AU but - like

Immediately Post Divorce Domon Needs Space and runs off. As one does. And he runs to Earth because he just wants to Get Lost for a while.

He has Argo smuggle him out to avoid detection.

Argo has Andrew help stow Domon in a storage hanger of a Neo Canadian supply ship that's returning to the US - they have trade often enough and share agricultural resources - which leads to Domon ending up in New York when he hits Earthside pavement.

He's privately worked on his English the last couple of months and after being dropped in New York with a different hairstyle, outfit, and accent he's unrecognizable. 

He considers making his way west to get some solitude in the wilderness, but something about that initial plan feels off now that he's on the ground.

Chibodee is also Earthside for a special series of prize fights aimed at raising charitable appeal for the US in the eyes of Neo Americans.

Domon decides to hit up Chibodee for a fight on a day between matches hoping it'll clear his head and give him the clarity to decide on a course of action. What ends up happening is an unexpected heart to heart via blows and a breakdown.

Domon is happy for Rain and Kyoji, and he knows it's not true; but he feels like he lost a piece of himself when his relationship with Rain fell apart.

Domon's instinct is to run after that but Chibodee knows this city and Domon doesn't hide out for long before Chibodee drags him back to his place to stay and just "Chill out and breathe. You don't have to be anyone but yourself here. You can take as long as you need to find out what everything changing means for you." Friends and teammates stick together.

So Domon spends a few weeks with Chibodee sparring and hanging out in New York. Chibodee does a frankly awesome job at containing his feelings because he's focusing on Domons feelings and being a good friend first and foremost. Whatever he's feeling can wait until after Domon is done going though it.

There's a bit of a twinge in Domon's heart as he leaves that he can't really place.

After he returns to Neo Japan and gets settled back into life with his family, The Dreams start.

They're mainly set in New York. Small things first like noticing Chibodee's smile and his eyes. Then sparring sessions that begin to turn lurid.

He thought these kinds of dreams would stop after he was married.... he doesn't know what to do about this.

I just figure it gives more clarity and sense of time for the journey from Comphet Marriage Dissolution to Feelings to Confession. Idk.

But I got stuck on a bit and then had this thought and needed to get it down before I lost it and it was so long it made sense to make it its own post as opposed to several replies.

The Maize and Clown Motel will probably still be 3 years and change post canon for clarification.

Once they had a breakthrough - Schwarz was sent abroad with a small military group and Doctors Without Borders group to assist #With immediate infection cases on behalf of Neo Japan as part of reparations. So Domon hadn't seen him in quite some time. #Domon certainly wasn't expecting to see him in the garden when he rounded the corner of the Mikamura residence #Leaned over Kyoji who appears to have been working outside on his laptop. Fingers intertwined a hand on Kyojis jaw and locked in a kiss. #Which ends pretty much instantly as they sense Domon and break apart. It occurs to Kyoji and Schwarz that Kyoji never #Got the chance to actually tell Domon much about himself and the man he'd grown into while Domon was training in Hong Kong with Master Asia #This might be a pretty significant shock to him. #I can't decide between Domon running from his Gay Revelation or IMMEDIATELY Losing His Shit at the thought of Rain's SECOND marriage ending #And knowing for sure now the reason why his and Rain's marriage didn't work out. He really does prefer men. #Bu HOW DARE Kyoji do this to her!!! She's been through enough!!!! This will HURT her SO BADLY!!! (Projection of guiiillllttt) #Back to square 1 fir a moment like damn #And once he starts fighting Kyoji about it (Thank God the ressurection gave them the option to make Kyojis new build similar to Schwarz's) #It comes out that Rain cant go through this AGAIN and he won't let him do this to her! Her honor means something to Domon #And it should mean something to Kyoji too as HER HUSBAND #Kyoji and Schwarz catch on the Again bit and Kyoji makes it clear that Rain has known about his situation with Schwarz since they returned #That they're quite literally inseparable and that Rain married him knowing this. She's fully aware and an active participant. #Domon takes a leg sweep and doesn't quite make his recovery as Schwarz steps in #Pinning his arms and one leg in place so he can't run from Kyojis question. Kyoji grabs Domon's hair to turn his head and asks

Introducing Zoot's mom, Lena!

Lena is a businesswoman working in the film industry, advocates for muppets receiving more roles in movies and TV shows, especially ones that aren't comedies and where muppets aren't the butt of the joke

She is Puerto Rican and divorced twice over, she has two other kids beside Zoot, but she only ever sees them half the time

Lena and Gabe were fairly young when Zoot was born, and they tried to make it work, but unfortunately, it didnt

Lena loves Zoot and Gabe very much, but she did fall out of love with Gabe romantically and agreed to split if off. And to support Zoot individually rather than pretend for their son's sake and be miserable

This plan worked well for the first few years of the divorce, until Lena got remarried. Her second husband was manipulative and possessive, convincing her that she needed to be focused on him and their children, even threatened to ruin Lena's career and her family's life. Quickly after that she cut contact and moved.

Gabe did try and talk to Lena but there was a lot of stress in the situation and he eventually gave up. He didn't even demand child support because he was to emotionally exhausted and felt like he could handle it on his own.

Gabe knows why Lena cut contact for the most part but still doesn't like talking about her. He's told Zoot about his mom and his half siblings at some point, but Zoot always ends up forgetting anyway.

Lena of course divorced her second husband eventually, and did think about regaining contact with Gabe and Zoot, but she felt it was too late. She had already caused so much pain and it had already been so many years, she felt like the best she could do was stay away.

y’know what, I think Mora’s definitely being manipulative with the Vestige. I think he’s framing this solely as a ‘fate of the world’ thing because he knows that they care about that, but in reality, I think this is actually about a rivalry between Princes and he wanted someone powerful and effective in his corner to stop Ithelia from making her comeback. And if she does show up, mad as hell and ready to tear apart reality just to spite Mora, then that works out in his favour because it makes him right.

Ithelia is Mora’s antithesis. What little we know of her sphere seems to stand in direct contradication to Mora. He’s the Prince of Knowledger and Fate, the Gardener of Men. He can nudge and push and manipulate people in certain directions, but he cannot outright change the outcome. Once a path is set, he cannot change it. There will be no other outcomes. No variables. He can tend the soil, water the roots and align the trellis, but its up to his pawns to do the rest.

Ithelia meanwhile is the Prince of Paths, the Mistress of the Untraveled Road, and the Fate-Changer. Based on her titles and Mora’s own apparent fear of her, it seems that she can change the outcome to suit her liking. Like how Azandar and Martina both tried to manipulate and use their own fatelines - the ones that could have been but never were - Ithelia may have been a Prince capable of bringing these fatelines to life, destroying them entirely, or even creating entirely new ones.

Ithelia is What If and What Could Be, whereas Mora is What Is and What Will Be. To him, Ithelia could be a seedbomb or an inferno, rendering his work obsolete and his garden overgrown, or destroying it entirely. So he gets a flash of a vision where she becomes a threat to everyone and everything? Ofc he’s going to pounce on that and turn the rest of the Princes against her. He can be rid of his rival and continue to mold the narrative to suit his needs without drawing the ire of those who disagreed with the decision...

i'm cheating [don't have arlecchino yet and am looking at her lines abt the harbingers through hoyowiki] and thank god the harbinger "i hate my coworkers" trend continues + yaay sandrone and columbina crumbs + her line about signora has me in shambles

the thing I keep thinking about really intensely is that yes, for like 99% of their acquaintance, Crowley was the one who had more understanding of the way heaven and hell really work. but for that brief moment in their first meeting, he genuinely was more naive and idealistic than Aziraphale. like, Aziraphale was scared, even back then, at the thought of questioning god; even right back before the beginning, some part of him knew that he was fearful and unsafe, and he realised that before Crowley ever did. 

it’s honestly almost like some kind of, Aziraphale fell first, Crowley Fell harder - he never completed the realisation the same way Crowley managed to, but he arrived there earlier. And I wonder so much what exact kind of effects witnessing the demons’ fall had on him, given that he’d already obtained some of that awareness that he perhaps was not in a very good place to be. but the only alternative of places to go, as far as he knew, was at the very least just as bad, and in some ways legitimately worse.

#good omens spoilers #good omens #aziraphale #crowley #i think it's interesting because i know there's been comparisons to irl religious sects/cults with aziraphale #but i feel like the idea of the alternative to your current bad place being somewhere Worse works in like #a metaphorical sense but less so in a literal one #because i think that the thing with irl conditioning is the Worse Place is generally just anywhere outside of the community #which is made to appear as somewhere hostile and unwelcoming as part of the conditioning #and like sure earth is not actually that #and in that way does represent the not-so-bad and potentially good place that the real world actually is #in comparison to the community that wants to keep him #but equally in aziraphale's case #hell is not a tool for fearmongering or a thing you can like #eventually discover not to be an Absolute Belief the way it's presented #Aziraphale's situation in comparison to irl religious indoctrination is really weird because hell is REAL #and genuinely is awful #there's a terrible place beyond the neutral real world where he could actually end up #and we know it was awful for Crowley being there #and heaven is awful too but they are both notably distinct from the kind of potentially awful which earth can be #and i do this with pretty much Every fantasy/scifi heightened version of irl phenomena which i encounter #but it's gotta have a different impact on your brain right #getting out from under your conditioning somewhat because you've found the neutral real world #and you're experiencing stuff that challenges your beliefs and shows you that there's more than you realised #but at the same time that moment of realising that you don't have to believe in the terrible consequences you were raised to fear #never comes #because you KNOW that place exists #and you know somebody who went there and despises it #who in fact actively works to prevent you from having to go there too
