Following the success of the Disney Parks Characters and Disney Parks Snacks competitions, I’ve decided to host another - to find our Tumblr’s favourite extinct Disney Parks attraction! Nominate your favourite extinct attraction or experience below:
Rules:
Nominated attractions or experiences must be from Disney Parks. That means no DisneyQuest, River Country, or Discovery Island
However, nominated attractions or experiences can be from anywhere in the world - Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, or Shanghai Disneyland
Yes, fireworks count as an extinct attraction or experience, as do front of castle stage shows and character meet and greets
As do attractions and lands that, for all intents and purposes are still standing, but are now something else, i.e. Journey Into Imagination in EPCOT that is now Journey Into Imagination with Figment, or Avengers Campus in California Adventure that used to be A Bug’s Land
You can nominate as many extinct attractions as you want, but please, only one per form. Also please refrain from nominating the same attraction more than once, that is frowned upon
Due to the controversial nature of Splash Mountain, I will not be including it in this competition
Extinct Disney Parks and Attractions tournament round 1: Group A1
Reminder, you don't have had to experience any of the attractions/experiences to vote! Just read in the info and/or watch the vid, then vote for which you wish you would have experienced more/which sounds cooler!

Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon: 1989-2016
Propaganda:
YOU COULD SNORKEL WITH SAFE SHARKS YOU GUYS! WITHOUT AN UP-CHARGE! (I believe there was a side where you could pay to stay longer or something? Or have a longer experience privately or something, idk) It was so cool. You rented snorkling gear and swam across a pool with real fish and sharks. You could go in the sub and watch from there if you were too scared, and it had fun creaking sound effects in it.
I remember seeing it in Disney Singalong Songs: Mickey's Fun Songs: Beach Party and I was obsessed with it but too scared to do it for the longest time, but thankfully I did before they closed it! When I came back the parks after like 7 years, I was devastated to see it gone/just have the top of the sub left. Now it is literally just sand with a bunch of beach chairs D:

Kim Possible: World Showcase Adventure: Epcot (2009-2012)
Propaganda:
"never got to experience this one myself but as a diehard kim possible fan I gotta submit it"
Guys, this was so freaking cool and unique. And while the base of this still exists as Agent P's World Showcase Adventure and now Ducktales, this was the superior version. You literally got a Kimmunicator! But like Wade would contact you for secret mission around world showcase and your device would activate certain interactive things hidden in world showcase, and gave you clues for each mission! Like hidden stuff would appear only when you had your Kimmunicator and stuff at the right spot. It was so cool!
Here is an overview of how stuff worked/good info on it
Have you ever noticed the hidden connection between Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park and Atlantis the Lost Empire?
So, it is all about the family raft ride (ya know, the kind where 4 people ride together) called Miss Adventure Falls.
Because this is Disney, it isn't just a regular water slide. It has a story and characters and all that stuff. This ride is specifically about Captain Mary Oceaneer! An explorer, sailor, scientist, bad bitch, treasure hunter, etc...
She is also a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (aka S.E.A.) A secret society that works as a sort of meta narrative tying a bunch of Disney rides from around the world together. But that's not important right now, just cool to mention. I've talked about S.E.A. before anyways
What IS important right now is her sub! Rightby the exit to the slide you can see her underwater exploratory vehicle which has been blown ashore by the huge Typhoon that transformed the Placade Palms Resort into the Leaning Palms Resort and created Typhoon Lagoon (the story behind the water park as a whole)
(Notice the two beach chairs next to the sub. one for Captain Oceaneer and one for her parrot, Duncan)
Look real close at the sub and you'll see something a little odd
Look at those squiggles! Those aren't just squiggles! That's Atlantean Script! The language made by Mark Okrand (the guy who made Klingon) for Atlantis the Lost Empire! And we can translate it!
Captain Mary Oceaneer wanted the Atlanteans to know "I Come in Peace" as she explored the ocean! And I think that's neat as heck
I couldn’t write articles about the Disney World parks without including the water park that we went to. After all, Typhoon Lagoon was such a fun part of our holiday.

Disney is making a BIG splash today!
People have been asking for months now “when can we start booking Disney for 2025?” and up until now, we’ve had nothing more to say than the usual- Disney typically opens around mid year for the following year. Today though, Disney surprised us all with not one, but two big announcements! A water park benefit and 2025…

Typhoon Lagoon Wave Pool: WDW
