ok, so a few days ago i saw a dreamlight valley tiktok where eric and belle were supposedly on a date… AND OH MY GOD. I just remembered that I used to ship those two, haha I don't know, I just thought they made a cute couple. You know… Eric is a good guy, Belle is a great girl. He's waiting for the right girl, no matter how long he has to wait or what he has to do. She wants a life full of adventure and freedom.

In the movie, Eric rejects a princess. I've always wanted to think it's because that would lead him to have a simpler (boring?) or very ordinary life like the king he should be. Getting away from what he loves most, living adventures at sea. Something similar with Belle, marrying someone from the town would only tie her to something she doesn't want.

Yes, yes… I'm sorry baby, It's back… Belle… Eric… I pronounce you, husband and wife. End.

i love how diverse in aging Vil's story is. It would've been easy to surround "Vil Schoeheit" with youthful things considering his character archetype, but I'm glad they're not holding back in adding blemishes whenever they showcase actual aging.

This reminds of Malleus' line that there is a beauty in the withering process of statues/gargoyles. In a way, Vil is like an statue (like a celebrity) but he is as well not immune to aging and I'm glad TWST wrote him as appreciated of aging instead of avoiding it

I know its been said a lot that Vil is not vain. He's not fixated on conventional beauty, but its really comforting to see the beauty icon is the one who believes aging is beautiful as well and is graceful about it, not just on others but also himself yk.

I love the realistic flair of "aging" in a story about really young people and growing up lol

THERE WAS ONLY ONE CHAIR because presumably, the queen doesn't understand Eric's fascination & servants keep away out of respect for him. So, there's no use having chairs around since nobody hangs out with him here. The implication that he must've felt alone for years until, well, her. They're twin souls. i am so unwell over this scene you have no idea

the fact that we can tell EXACTLY what eric is thinking, how he goes from realizing ariel is a mermaid to recognizing that there's a bigger thing to focus on and he'll process the reveal later, when the woman he loves isn't in danger.

how he immediately looks down at ariel and sees her expression, he sees how terrified she is, because for the past three days he's done nothing BUT learn how to read her expressions, so he knows her fears without her having to say anything, and his only thought goes to "keep her safe, keep her here, keep her close"

and can we please talk about the physical affection between these two???? how ariel's hand goes from laying on eric's chest to holding onto his shoulder, how eric goes from just kind of holding ariel up to pulling her as close as he possibly can, curling himself around her and surrounding her in his arms, fully prepared to take the brunt of ursula's power if it comes down to it. because she's his world, and he refuses to lose her again.

and eric's GLARE??? HELLO???? the man just realized that the silent girl he's fallen in love with and the girl who saved his life is the same person and he just wanted to kiss her and celebrate that but now he is PISSED and he just wants to live happily ever after so he can and will do everything he can to get that ending for him and ariel.
