Hey! I totally understand that! I started playing because I saw a friend playing it and fell completely in love with it. For starting playing it, I would first just learn the basics of the game. I would highly recommend my friend Krista's article on Sims Community for that!

For help keeping your game healthy I would check out this article written by my wonderful friend SrslySims. Some other great places to check out would be: Sims Community (You can follow us on Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) Carl's Sims 4 Guide

I've found that watching YouTube videos helped me a lot. I would suggest: EnglishSimmer James Turner

If you're having trouble with your game, I would recommend checking out Crin's blog.

If you cannot find your answer there, you can always find me in either Srsly's Lounge or Ravasheen Discord Servers.

As for mods, SnarkyWitch wrote this great article on how to start with Mods that I recommend. I highly recommend her poses if you get a chance to check them out!

so the setup for these two ooooh man

for any needed contexts, Hoshi in this au is a purpleblood. Highest ranking land dweller, in a society that revels in useless unnecessary violence. Basically, he kills people below him for a living, and is like a celebrity for it too. But, even without that, purples are quite well known for murder and killing, and one look at this scarred as fuck purple with murder in his eyes you should prob run like, whoever you are-

Ikuto is a mutantblood. Lower than the lowest. Like, never show Anyone what color your blood is, you will be killed on sight.

And thats exactly what happened.

so long ago but not actually that long ago actually, these two first met <33 yippee!!

ikuto was getting Damn Assailed by some highbloods, like, these mfs saw a mutantblood and saw murder. Ikuto barely managed to escape through some woods, about on deaths door.

but he runs into hoshi like DAMNIT,, like he's already injured & bleeding so it's basically on display "Hey I'm a mutant!" so he just like accepts his death.

but hoshi sees this dying little man and goes "ooh pretty" and takes him home with them.... and because purples are about 10000000x more resilient hes just like "oh its just a little booboo" meanwhile ikuto is Going To Die.

but once hes patched up hoshi decides "actally im gonna keep him"

i cannot stress this enough their relationship in this au is at such a power imbalance. like. hoshi could gently place ikuto outside and he would be killed. this shit toxic asf.

hoshi basically keeps ikuto in his basement forever now. and its kinda? good? because like, ikuto now has permanent shelter and protection from a very powerful highblood, but also, like,,,,,, ikuto cannot leave. if he wanted to. like now he got hoshi incredibly overprotective & ikuto is kinda just stuck with him. just trapped in this guys basement forever.

but! hoshi loves him very much and spoils the fuck outta his boyfie. they will bring him! so many gifts! and ensure that this basement is the coziest place ever for him hangs out with him all the time and will never let even a whisper of harm come to him. its still fuckin risky but,, hoshi loves him. the one big thing is just like. ikuto cant leave. the kid is still just. kinda lonely :(

but relatively? even if theyre afraid, theyre happy.

but then someone hears about this cool new "sgrub" game.

And suddenly, word gets out about Hoshi, high standing purple attracting attention from three fuschias, being in a secret redrom (romantic relationship) with a mutant, and hiding him in his hive.

drones are sent to his house & havoc insues. hoshi is tryinna find and save ikuto, his massive lusus (dragon dad) is also freaking out and kinda tears the place apart even more. in this calamity ikuto is discovered by the drones while theyre trying to enter their sgurb session.

the drones are Out for ikuto. like. he is going to die. They desperately are simultaneously trying to enter their session, their only real hope of escape. Theyre slamming through trying to get through the progression quickly while fending off drones, which fortunately their server player (doesnt matter) is attentive enough to get them through.

But in the havoc, Hoshi is dead focused on trying to keep the drones off, meanwhile Ikuto prepares the actual session. In this he gets beat. Beat bad. And soon enough hoshi just. Cant even stand. Cant protect ikuto. Scared for the little guys life but literally incapacitated and about to die himself

but fortunately hoshi was just able to hold off just long enough so that Ikuto could get the two of them out of there even while hoshi is on deaths door, but once they enter the session they are Separated and neither know that the other is even Alive

all hoshi rlly knows is that he couldnt protect ikuto forever

and all ikuto knows is the dying body of hoshi behind him as they escape sure doom.

Okay I’m making this while tired but I figure I can at least get it started and smart people can add on. if you’re here from jrwitwt first off HELLO!!! Welcome. I know there have been several posts going around saying watch your step, we do things differently here, and to get with it, that might seem a bit intimidating. So I wanted to make this non-exhaustive list of how tumblr works and HOW we do things different so you can get settled in :)

also these are just to the best of my ability and based off my time here i am by no means a standard, just a starting point

-You might’ve heard this one already but there isn’t much of an algorithm here. You can follow certain tags and blogs. The best way to find people is to just scroll through tags and check out blogs whose posts you enjoyed

-reblogging is standard. Likes are typically for letting a mutual(or anyone rlly) know you saw their post or during liveblog sessions(at least that’s how I use them) while we have replies on posts that might look like a comment section. It really isn’t most of the time. Comments are normally put in the tags of reblogs. It’s completely okay if your blog is just reblogs that’s super normal here. you don’t have to have an original thought if you don’t want to

-If you really don’t want to post/lurk and only follow ppl, change your pfp so we know you aren’t a bot. Blank blogs have a history of being bots and if we can’t tell you’re a person a lot of people will block on sight. Just fair warning

-We do a lot of blocking here. If you don’t like someone’s posts, block em and keep going. The filter tags system on tumblr really works(I’ve heard twt is fussy and not great) and most people tag things appropriately here so you Will Not see the shit you don’t want to

-TAG THINGS APPROPRIATELY PLEASE it’s a give and take. When it comes to spoilers, as long as the original poster tagged it you normally don’t have to tag it again in a reblog but you can out of courtesy

-Bonus point a lot of us use “jrwilb” as a tag when everyone is on the dash liveblogging a stream ep or just when they get around to watching it. Some people have personalized ones, and some ppl also main tag their liveblogs so it’s just a good one to know ahead of time

-People chit chat through asks frequently. You don’t have to feel shy abt it, esp if you are being friendly. But if you’re anxious a lot of people leave on anon asks so you don’t have to have your name attached

-We don’t really do callouts/negativity posts. If you see a take or headcanon you aren’t fond of going around. You can block/filter, or you can make a positivity post or post abt your own interpretation!!! A lot of people here love different takes and headcanons and try to value all of them. Again, if one squicks you really bad, filter/block it. If you really wanna complain, be sure to do it in dms or a private discord server

-our concept of what jokes are okay to post are very lax. there really isnt an official thing but i’ve tended to notice we dont really tend to do anything the council havent done. we joke abt gillion tits and eggs here because the council have done it. we have made very lewd jokes because  . . . mcs and everything else grizzly does when he’s not playing dakota. so be prepared to be jarred by how . . . interesting it gets here

Alík anon back for more. 1. I still think your OCs are cool as hell. I like all of them but Alík(obviously lmao) and Nastya are my favorites.

2. I love how you portray Anya and Dima, in both your art and your fics. Your stuff is part of the reason I like them, and also their side of the PAFL story more than before.

3. Your fics are so good. You’re scary good at, like, gory ones too, like with Divergence and the one where Sanya beats you up(sorry, forgot the name). Those two fics made me feel exactly where my heart was and made me feel the bile in my stomach. I mean this in a good way. 👍🏽

4. I think this is the last thing. Also, first reason for me wanting to send this ask. I saw the alík x sanya playlist and thought “hey that’s sick as hell, lemme like that.” First thing is, are you okay with that? Can I have the playlist in my library? And second, on a funnier note, I made a playlist filled with songs that made me think of sapphic longing, and it was unintentionally very similar to the alík x sanya playlist. I've figured out that I'm a demiboy! My pronouns are he/they/hit right now. Since the last set isn't common, I'll provide the whole set and some info for anyone who's interested!

Hit/hit/him/his/hitself, with all the I's pronounced as hard E's. They're archaeopronouns, and all but the last one are gender neutral third person pronouns from Old English! The last one was created because Old English didn't have the kind of pronouns like himself, herself, or themself.

In Fall 2020 we had ~47 entries, which was an incredible turnout! We featured gifsets, fanmixes, fanfiction, fanart, and more. This event, we had a whopping ~125 entries here on Tumblr! The AO3 collection increased in size from 18 works archived to 51, which means 33 works were submitted this round - some of them with multiple chapters to fill different prompts. 

These numbers are approximate based on a quick count, but should be pretty accurate. That means the event has grown - and this is only one event for the fandom! That’s to say nothing of the creators who keep creating outside the scope of this event, other events that may be run by other fans, or the amazing works that are still to be discovered.
