I need to paint stuff more, I like having something to work on like this. It’s gonna be a dice box of course :D
Plans are to maybe do gold numbering on the die (I might have to outline the gold with black or dark blue though if it isn’t visible enough), add smaller paintings of the other dice around the sides (no d100, since I don’t want to squish one under the little buckle/latch/whatever you call that), and to put felt inside the box to look ~fancy~ and limit the rattling when it actually holds dice

I made treasure chest mimic! I was recently looking around at dice bags online for some inspiration, and this is what I decided to make.
As you can see, it did end up pretty wonky. There are creases in the fabric, the fraying is visible, it takes a some fiddling to get fully closed, and there is a general misshapen-ness to it, but I’m still happy with the end result! \ʕ^ᴥ^ʔ/
It took a lot of hot glue and layers of fabric to get it finished, and the stiffness from the hot glue is why it’s kinda hard to get it closed, which is why I used some yarn to loop around and keep it tied closed.
I crocheted the tongue and bottom inner lining with the last of my reddish brown yarn. I also used some tarnished, brassy-coloured metal buttons for the closure. The buttons have little knights and horses on them, so I thought it was fitting :)
I also took a picture of my mimic holding some treasures from my hoard, since I thought it would be fitting and look nice. There’s a few necklaces, coins, old keys and fossils.
I like to think that my mimic isn’t that great at being a mimic, so it often gets the materials and shapes incorrect, hence why it’s a treasure chest made of fabric and yarn, instead of wood and metal like it’s supposed to be. But I know that it’s trying it’s best, and that’s what matters. I'm still proud of my little mimic (୨୧ ˶ᵕᴗᵕ˶) ·₊˚𐐪♡𐑂˚₊·
