Get Back Rewatch 55 Years On: Day 14
Who is this talking to Ringo? Press? A boy scruff? Someone who wants their project produced by Apple? He tries George too.
Tumblr media
Again, I love the "freak-out" as John calls it. They really could've had so much fun together under different circumstances. (Different being neither of them ever dated John) But John's so sweet saying, "Id like it to be part of her new LP. Our new LP."
I wonder what Robert Fraser thought of the beard.
Tumblr media
Why are we playing 20 Flight Rock now, Paul? It's just overlayed over a montage to change "scenes", but I wonder what the real context was.
Billy. What a little ray of sunshine honestly.
Tumblr media
"So what should we do that's fun? Besides work?" I feel like every day, John has a little adorable quote, and this is today's. Words to live by.
I don't remember if Get Back includes the "Oh Darling" version where John's answering back between lines in conversation with the lyrics. I sincerely hope so. Peter Jackson was probably like "well I can only include so much homosexuality before people have too many questions."
Ringo, you smooth criminal. I love that he just has this trick he learned as a teenager that the Beatles were all impressed by, back when Ringo was the scary gangster with the car and the beard, and he still does it for them like ten years later. It's so endearing.
Tumblr media
Another cute John and Yoko moment: "It's just that screaming all the way." "Poor John." "Yes, it's so terrible." She's teasing him and being sweet to him at the same time. Cuties.
George asks Paul where his Rickenbacker is. "Isn't that one much better?" And Paul makes up some shit about the Hoffner being lighter. You nostalgic little bitch. Poor baby.
John's little guilty look at the camera when he's almost just taken something on film. It's cute. He looks like a naughty kid. But it's kind of a cool moment. It shows just how relaxed and natural he is. He's not performing for or worried about the cameras at all. What we're seeing of him today is just him. You know? Idk I think it's nice.
Tumblr media
What's with the little pigeon noises in the middle of a recording, guys? They're so weird smh
Poor Glyn. He's just trying to do his job and he has to deal with fucking Leopold and Leob over here. He gives them some instruction. There's a look between the two of them. And then it's all, "Don't interrupt" "Hey son" "Stahhs when" "Hey" "they're recording. We're bloody Stahhs you know." "Look fuckface. Don't comment." "The cheek." The impenetrable wall of Lennon and McCartney, folks.
"Well, we'll have to do it sitting down. Or we get too excited." It's heartbreaking to me how obvious it is that they're still just having the absolute time of their lives together and that, as John put it, "the minutes are crumbling away."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Literally what the hell is with Dennis smacking Paul's ass (as like a 'good job, your band wants to put your song out as the single' I guess) and nobody reacting? Linda would've been like "ope, time to find a new head of Apple films." (Dave Spinoza on RAM, anyone?) He really does look so proud of himself, though. Happy for you, baby.
Oh, right, that's what Robert thinks. Paul looks like his working class fantasy. (DH Lawrence. Victorian Miner.)
And I'm just going to add this, since Peter Jackson REFUSES. Paul: Can't afford to mess around here, you know. Then

‘The Death-Croon’
“In the days of the old Celtic church, the Death-Croon was chanted over the dying by the anam-chara, the soul-friend, assisted by three chanters. Later on, the rite passed into the hands of seanairean a' bhaile, the elders of the township, and the mnathan-tuiridh, the mourning-women, the latter eventually developing into a professional class, whose services could aways be obtained for a consideration. In more recent times, the bean-ghluin, the knee-woman, the midwife, was also the bean-tuiridh, the mourning-woman, and as the friend of the folk in the coming and the going of life, was regarded with the greatest veneration both by young and by old. To this day, the knee-woman of the isles chants her runes and celebrates her mysteries in the houses of birth and of death, but always with closed doors—metaphorically, at any rate. As recently as eighteen years ago, a Death-croon was chanted over a dying person in the Island of Eigg:
An ceò 's an drùchd, An drúchd 's an ceò, An ceò 's an drùchd An sùil mo ghràidh, An sùil mo ghràidh, A Thi dh’ fhosgail an t-sùil òg. Dùn i an nochd an clò a' bhàis An clò a' bhàis.
The mist the dew, The dew the mist, The mist the dew In the eye of my love, In the eye of my love. Thou who did’st open the young eye, Close it to-night in the sleep of death, In the sleep of death.
From the nineteenth to the sixth century is a far cry, but the Death-Croon brings the two together. St. Donnan of Eigg and fifty of his muinntir, his disciples, had suffered martyrdom at the hands of the Queen of the Isle, and were sleeping their first night's death-sleep in the churchyard now known as Cil-Donnain. At midnight, solus an àigh, a blessed light, was seen above the graves, and voices were heard chanting a croon of which only a few lines have been handed down.
Is moch a chuireas a' ghrian failt air Donnan. Is moch a sheinneas an t-ian alleacad Donnaia, Is moch a dh' faasas an har air air Donnain. Sùil bhlàth Chriosd air am ùir. Reulta na h-iarmailt air an ùir, Cha bheud, cha bheud, a dh’ dir Donnain.
Early gives the sun greeting to Donnan, Early sings the bird the greatness of Donnan, Early grows the grass on the grave of Donnan, The warm eye of Christ on the grave, The stars of the heavens on the grave, No harm, no harm, to Donnan's dust.
And said the old folk of Eigg :
The Queen and her maidens saw the light and heard the singing and—way of the women!—wonder brought them towards the churchyard. And, sure, there must have been tàladh, fascination, in the light, for as it would move they would follow, and did it not bring them little by little, and not little was that same little, to the loch' you know yourself, the one in which the each-uisge, the water-horse, lives—and, O Mary Mother, was it not there the judgment was!
In the isles the black loch among the hills is always associated with death and unholy deeds and croons. The sea, with its ebb and its flow, is suggestive of life. If it has the terrible strength, it has also the nobility, of the lion. But the loch among the hills is a snake—black and slimy, with death in its eye. A tale and a croon will tell the rest. On a night there was, it befell a pears-eaglais, a cleric, to he returning from the hill to the shore-clachan, and what came upon him but the weather of the seven elements-and what can be worse than that ! Since he could not do better, he did the best he could, and his only choice being an evil, he took shelter in a cave under a rock. He had not been long there when a great white lightning sudden-flashed before his two eyes, and in the glare, he saw a deep black loch between two precipices; and O Blessed Being of the Graces ! Beside the loch was a man in the death-throe, and three wizards crooning over him—a lean black wizard, a bald grey wizard, and a sleek yellow wizard.”

A Druid Healer Chapter 16 To Lallybroch?
“Are you alright mo bhean?” They lay wrapped up sweaty, together.
“Oh aye. Very. I never knew it could be thus. So very pleasurable.”
“I will always strife to keep it thus.” She smiles broadly, snuggling into him.
“Do you think His Majesty will mind that we didn't marry first in a kirk?” She frets.
“Nae mo dhraoidh. As long as we do so after.” She had become playing with his chest hair and he was distracted by what he meet to say next. “Oh mo ghaol, I want you again. I need to be inside you.” He gasps when she climbs on top of him.
“Will you permit me to try something, an duine agam?”
“Aye.” She kisses him then kisses down his chest. When she places his nipple in her mouth, biting then sucking it, he arches half hay off the bed. “Máthair Naomh!” he cries out. Oh if he likes that.
She moves down farther, kissing and licking, biting and soothing. His breath comes increasingly labored. When she reachs his straining cock , she wastes no time. She had discussed with some older lasses about how to please her husband. They all mentioned this act.
He is huge and she has to lick him all over before being able to get any of him in her mouth. When she does, he starts to curse. Knowing it was a good thing, she continues.
“Na stad Claire.” He cries out. She has no intention too. In fact, she speed up. “Dh 'fhaodadh mo chridhe spreadhadh!” His hands tighten on the blanket under him as he starts to flash around. A minute later and he shivers, arching up as he empties himself into her.
“Better?”
“Come here, ye wee vixen.” She giggles and does. There is a hesitant knock on the door.
“Doris, I've breakfast for you.”
“One moment Doris.” She slips her shift back on and Jamie covers up. She opens up and Doris comes in and lays the tray on the table. She smiles at them both before leaving. Claire relocks the door and joins her husband.
“I have never had such.” He confesses as they eat. “No one has..”
“Good. It should only be your wife.”
“Aye.” He feeds her bits of food. “As I was saying before you thoroughly distracted me, I was thinking of heading home to Lallybroch. To be married at the kirk there. I wish my family to be present.”
“I would love that. If we could get permission.”
“I believe we can. You recall my sister Jenny? I know you two will become fast friends.”
“Aye, I wonder if she and Brian will recall me.”
They are off the next morning on a two day journey back to the castle. She longs for bath and bed but must see the King first. They walk in, hand in hand.
“Earl Jamie, it is glad I am to have you back. It seems Healer Claire said yes to you.”
“Yes my Lord, to my eternal thankfulness. We wish to be married in Lallybroch, at the kirk there. We were hand fast in Edinburgh.”
“Hand fast. You work quick Earl Jamie. Congratulations Mistress Fraser.”
“Thank you, My Lord.” She curtsies low to him.
“You may travel to Lallybroch to introduce your wife to your family and be wed in a kirk. I will need you both back in a months time, after departing.”
“Yes your Majesty.”
“May I be reacquainted with the little prince?” Claire asks.
“Yes. The child has missed you.”
“And I him. Thank you my Lord.” She bows low the both her king and husband and hurries out.
They spend a few weeks at the castle. Jamie moves into her room there. It is nice to be so close to the queen and prince. Nicer still to spend each night in the arms of his wife.
She is nervous on the way to Lallybroch. “I hope they remember and like me.”
“Remember, I don’t know but like I guarantee.. For I love and adore you.”
They pull up. The big door opens and Brian steps out. “My lad is that you?”
“Aye tis'. And I bring a bride.” He helps her down.
“Claire Beauchamp?” a stunned Brian says.
The Ghaildhig
My wife
My druid
My husband
Holy Mother
Don't stop
I think my heart may burst

Group B Streptococci in sushi and sashimi
I have previously posted about a large community Group B Streptococcus (GBS) outbreak in Singapore (Kalimuddin S, 2017).
In that post I alluded to the fact that my original hypothesis was that people were getting GBS by eating raw tilapia in sushi and sashimi as a result of a trade practice known as fish species substitution, where a cheaper fish species  is substituted for a more expensive one and given a similar sounding name.
Tumblr media
Somewhere on that plate is a serotype Ia ST7 GBS.
The GBS outbreak eventually turned out to be due to serotype III ST283 GBS found in bighead carp, giant snakehead and tilapia. People were getting sick consuming raw fish dishes in local Chinese stalls rather than Japanese-style restaurants.
However the question over whether GBS could be found in sushi and sashimi continued to bother me. I got a chance to study this when 2 students from Temasek Polytechnic were attached to our laboratory in 2015 (Koh TH, 2017). These students were required to do a small project so I set Terry and Fionicca off to purchase sushi and sashimi from the cheaper Japanese-style food outlets  and supermarkets dotted across Singapore. At the end of the day we collected 17 fish samples sold ready-to-eat. Twelve samples were salmon, 4 were sold as ‘Tai’, and one was actually sold as tilapia. The fish were processed according the method detailed in a previous post.
We isolated 2 GBS. One was serotype II ST1 GBS resistant to tetracycline from a Salmon sample. The other was serotype Ia ST7 GBS susceptible to tetracycline from the tilapia sample.  We were also able to find molecular evidence for serotype Ia ST7 GBS in a sample sold as ‘Tai’ even though we were unable to isolate the organism in culture. We did not find any serotype III ST283 GBS though this may be a limitation of the small sample size.
Besides serotype III ST283 GBS, there are two other types of GBS that are important fish pathogens, serotype Ib ST260 and serotype Ia ST7.
Serotype Ib ST260 (originally named Streptococcus difficile) is the original GBS pathogen of fish that was described as early as 1966.  They are characteristically non-haemolytic. This type affects many species of fish and is widely distributed. However, there is some data to suggest that this GBS type is not found in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, but may be found in Indonesia. When I first started looking out for zoonotic GBS infections in 2008, I was focused on serotype Ib ST260. In retrospect this was probably a mistake. This type is so niche-adapted that it has a reduced genome content, and so far has only been found in poikilothermic (cold blooded) animals like fish and frogs (Delannoy CMJ, 2016). It has never been described in humans and probably poses no zoonotic risk.
The origins of serotype Ia ST7 GBS are less certain. This type has caused human infections in neonates in Japan (Evans JJ, 2008), and adults in Iceland (Bjornsdotir ES, 2016), but on the whole is rarely found in humans (note both Japan and Iceland have populations known for high fish consumption). On the other hand, serotype Ia ST7 GBS have caused many outbreaks in fish, especially tilapia, in asia and the middle east. This type has also recently caused an outbreak locally in Singapore among farmed golden pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) (Chong SM, 2017). Interestingly in that manuscript, the authors say that GBS had not been detected in cultured marine and freshwater fish in Singapore prior to 2014. To confuse matters, an old American type culture collection strain of GBS (ATCC A909) was recently found to be serotype Ia ST7 (Tettelin H, 2005). This was isolated from a human neonate with sepsis in 1934! The genome of ATCC A909 was recently compared with that of serotype Ia ST7 GBS isolated from tilapia in China and found to be similar (Liu G, 2013).
So is serotype Ia ST7 GBS a zoonosis or do fish get infected as a result of human effluent polluting the environment? Delannoy et al suggest that serotype Ia ST7 and serotype III ST283 GBS that cause fish infections probably have a primarily homeothermic (warm blooded) host range and have acquired fish-associated virulence factors not usually found in human or bovine isolates (Delannoy CMJ, 2016). So perhaps an anthroponosis first then a zoonosis later?
What of the serotype II ST1 GBS resistant to tetracycline from Salmon? We think this was probably the result of human contamination of fish (human clones of GBS tend to be tetracycline resistant whereas fish isolates tend to be tetracycline susceptible).
Going back to the issue of fish species substitution and mis-labelling of fish. This is a widespread practice in the fish trade. Customers may not know the subtle difference between dory fish (Vietnamese catfish Pangasius spp. ) and the rather more prized John Dory (Zeus faber).
A butterfish (Escolar, Lepidocybium flavobrunneum) in Singapore is not the same as a butterfish in South Australia (Mulloway, Argyrosomus japonicas). It is important to know the difference! As a cautionary tale I refer you to a blogpost by MIPHIDIC.
One of the more interesting parts of our study was trying to identify the actual fish species that was being sold as ‘Tai’ which most people would probably assume was the fish you normally see on ‘Japan Hour’* which is the Red Sea Bream (Pagrus major).
We did this by a method known as fish barcoding. This involved sequencing the cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene of the fish meat and submitting the sequences to the Fish-Bol database.
Of the 4 ‘Tai’ samples, 2 were indeed Red Sea Bream (Pagrus major), 1 was Crimson Snapper (Lutjanus erythropterus), this was the sample that had molecular evidence for serotype Ia, ST7 GBS. The other sample was a Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). So if you want to be sure of what fish you are eating, order the whole fish or go to a reputable restaurant (and be prepared to pay more).

Signs and symptoms contain fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes, adopted by a rash that starts off centrally together with on the face and spreads to the limbs and lasts at the very least 3 times. Measles can also be a significant infection with a lot more serious illness.
Also at risk are infants beneath a person-12 months-previous who have under no circumstances had the measles. If you had been born in 1970 and later, to be secured towards measles you ought to have been given two doses of measles-that contains vaccine (often supplied as merged measles, mumps and rubella vaccine or MMR). No entendía nada.
— ¿Me ve bien ahora?
Dougal MacKenzie:
Murtagh, Rupert y Angus. —Bha mi air chall, bha Randall a 'dol a dh' ionnsaigh.
Dougal MacKenzie:
—Bi faiceallach Dh'fhaodadh tu sùil a thoirt oirnn —Ordenó a Murtagh.
¿Me ayudas?

Premier League run-in: the challenges and key players for every golf-club
With most clubs having exclusively seven or eight recreations left to play of an exhilarating season, our columnists assess what they need to do to end the season on a high
Arsenal
What they need to do to have a successful demise to the season Arsne Wenger and his crew had not yet been further boundary for lapse and, above all, they must show the mental persuasivenes that he constantly rabbits on about in the face of organizing ally fermentation. The big musicians, such as Alexis Snchez, have to step it up.
What would constitute success at the current stage ? The entitle. And nothing else. Key musician Mesut zil
David Hytner
Aston Villa
What they need to do Twelve levels adrift with seven coincides continuing, Villa require a miracle. Every area of the team has to dramatically improve, from their error-prone goalkeeper to their toothless forward position. But makes not kid ourselves its going to happen.
Success at the current stage Prevailing another tournament/ reaching 20 details Leading player Steve Hollis, chairman
Stuart James

Bournemouth
What they need to do It is basically activity done for Bournemouth but Eddie Howe will not earmark his line-up to extremity the season with a sob. Last weeks training camp to Dubai ought to have reinvigorated any of the more tired leg in the force given the touchy was participating in ahead. Joshua King has come to the fore again of late, possibly buoyed by Callum Wilsons return to civilizing while Simon Francis and Steve Cook have made impressive advance as a centre-back pairing.
Success at the current stage Its still all about survival Leading player Joshua King
Ben Fisher
Chelsea
What they need to do The season can not be properly exchanged but blooding a few of the children in the weeks ahead, and pulsating Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur( including with regard to) to facilitate Leicesters title challenge, might render some interest before the arrival of Antonio Conte
Success at the current stage Success is beyond them, but a top-seven finish might save some face if there is also some evidence of forward-planning Key actor Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Dominic Fifield

Crystal Palace
What they need to do Muster enough points to stave off the increasing threat of relegation after a 13 -match winless run in the Premier League, while at the same time contacting the second FA Cup final in their history. To do that they will have to nurse James McArthur and Jason Puncheon back to fitness, and try and get a extend of plays out of Connor Wickham.
Success at the current stage Survival and a Cup final appearance Key participate Jason Puncheon DF
Everton
What they need to do Not even a consistent run of wins and clean sheets could switch this Premier League campaign into a success for Everton, though Roberto Martnez would contend otherwise. Eight league demolishes at Goodison Park one more than in the brush with relegation under Howard Kendall in 1998 and the most conference objectives confessed at home three more than Aston Villa are the obvious inadequacies to address.
Success at the current stage Acquiring the FA Cup is the only thing that can redeem this season for Martnez Key player Romelu Lukaku
Andy Hunter

Leicester City
What they need to do The big question is whether Claudio Ranieris team can handle the pressure at the top where reference is genuinely starts to be cranked up. So far, so good. Remaining Mahrez, Kant and Vardy fit is essential, and that Huth and Morgan partnership is also key.
Success at this stage You intend its not been a success already? OK, winning the entitlement. Leading player Riyad Mahrez SJ
Liverpool
What they need to do The late downfall at Southampton before the international disintegrate encapsulated Liverpools season and Jrgen Klopps frustration. Just when the team appear to have clicked defensively and in attack they regress, although pre-St Marys form had fuelled ideology in a concerted defy for European suitability. More is required from center midfield.
Success at the current stage A consistent running reflecting the development of Klopps style. Champions League qualification via a Europa League triumph would not go amiss either. Key player Philippe Coutinho AH

Manchester City
What they need to do Be shaken from their slumber and made to realise Champions League football could be missed unless they made a run together. If Joe Hart misses merely one tournament activity due to his injury sustained in the derby and Kevin De Bruyne can return for the last seven or eight accords, City can surely do what is required.
Success at this stage The style they are free-falling a top-four finish Key player Sergio Agero
Jamie Jackson
Manchester United
What they need to do Louis van Gaal to prefer a colonized area that would include the soon-to-return from hurt Wayne Rooney at No10, Marcus Rashford at centre-forward, and Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard out broad. This front four would have the speed and purposes United miss too often.
Success at the current stage A top-four finish Key participate At the moment, Marcus Rashford JJ

Newcastle United
What they need to do Become more direct. Seemingly incapable of passing through antagonists, this squad is better suited to counter-attacking. More quality crosses are required and, maybe, a switch to 4-4-2. Moussa Sissoko could provide an unlikely answer to the problem vacancy at left-back and Cheick Tiot may need to be recalled in order to fix midfield and keep a dangerously under-staffed defence.
Success at this stage Survival Key actor Papiss Ciss
Louise Taylor
Norwich City
What they need to do Four points and two clean sheets in their last two plays have braked Norwichs hurl towards the abyss. The January signing Timm Klose has been superb at centre-back and now they need to add greater cutting edge for the final six weeks. Is Steven Naismith, underwhelming on the whole since his high-profile appearance , now match-fit enough to induce certain differences and could Patrick Bamford rescue his own season of arrested development? They may have to.
Success at this stage Any finish above 18 th home no matter how close a request Key musician Steven Naismith
Nick Ames
Can January arrivals Timm Klose and Steven Naismith obstruct Norwich up? Picture: Craig Brough/ Reuters
Southampton
What they have to do Ronald Koemans team have been very good since the midriff of January and, gladly for them, they have key players coming into shape such as Fraser Forster and Graziano Pell. Concentration over the full 90 hours, during a tricky run-in, will be vital. Comeback success like the 3-2 over Liverpool will not happen every weekend.
Success at this stage Europa League suitability Key actor Graziano Pell DH
Stoke City
What they need to do to Having misplaced only one of their past six league recreations, Stoke must pick up after the international snap where they left off although several key injuries, most notably Jack Butlands fractured ankle, will not facilitate. Stokes best acts have come when Bojan Krkic and Marko Arnautovic have clicked and that partnership is required to be firing again for the April competitions with Liverpool, Spurs and Man City.
Success at the current stage Improving on last-place seasons ninth-placed finish Key player Marko Arnautovic
Lawrence Ostlere

Sunderland
What they need to do Wrap Jermain Defoe in cotton wool between plays. Deter the impressive Jan Kirchhoff patrolling the zone between midfield and defence. Realise the very best of Wahbi Khazris stellar set-piece delivery. Decide whether Youns Kaboul or John OShea is Lamine Kons better central defensive collaborator. Preserve Lee Cattermole on the bench.
Success at this stage Survival Key player Jermain Defoe LT
Swansea City
What they have to do Alberto Paloschi could do with a purpose or two, it would be nice to see Modou Barrow built around some promising achievements, and for Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swanseas best player, to sign off for the Euros with a flourish. In other news, what on dirt has come to Jefferson Montero?
Success at the current stage 11 th( top of the bottom half) Key musician Gylfi Sigurdsson SJ
Any theory where on globe Jefferson Montero is? Image: Ian Kington/ AFP/ Getty Images
Tottenham Hotspur
What they have to do This is nosebleed territory for Tottenham but a young squad have shown no sign of nerves or tirednes. With 25 parts from the last available 30, they have force and the sentiment that they can beat anybody. They must concentrate on what they can command but how they could come to regret that 1-0 home win to Leicester City in January.
Success at the current stage Champions League qualification would be a magnificent achievement but they require more Key actor Harry Kane DH
Watford
What they they need to do It would be good to find a the ways and means of regularly scoring other than Troy Deeney flicking or looping projectiles forwards for Odion Ighalo to run on to. The Moroccan winger Nordin Amrabat looks the most likely to provide one, though moving Jos Manuel Jurado permanently infield, or off it altogether, might also help.
Success at this stage It has already been achieved, but at least one more tournament triumph and an FA Cup final appearance would crown it Key player Nordin Amrabat
Simon Burnton
Can Watford find the best way of tallying that doesnt commit Troy Deeney flicking or looping dances forward for Odion Ighalo to run on to? Photograph: Stephen Pond/ Getty Images
West Bromwich Albion
What they they need to do Pulis being Pulis, it is still all about getting to 40 phases( they are one shy ). Darren Fletcher mentioned 50 details a few weeks ago and was reprimanded by his manager live on air. Albion have a tough run-in but Salomn Rondn and Saido Berahino, on the working day, are a handful.
Success at the current stage Breaking through the 50 -point impediment for the first time Key musician Saido Berahino SJ
West Ham United
What they they need to do After months of hurts, Slaven Bilic is likely to have a amply fit crew for site visits of Palace on Saturday and the feelgood part around Upton Park should ripen even greater if it stays that way
Success at the current stage Finishing fourth and triumphing the FA Cup Leading player Dimitri Payet
