Wyll vs Tiefling options

Do I love Wyll? yes I love him very much, the only thing I don't understand is why there aren't more options to empathize with him if you're a tiefling? The whole time after he got turned he was talking to me like: "You must see me a monster, what with these horns, claws, and bumps along my body" and I was like ??? gang squad I was BORN with everything you just said but there wasn't any tielfing options just stuff to be like "no ahaha you aren't ugly" Then during the teifling party he was sulking and said something along the lines of "They'll see me as a devil, and this forked tounge does not taste the way it used to" But??? We've all been called devilbloods? Cursebloods? Ect. ect. why would I or any of the other tieflings not want to hang w Wyll, someone who they know helped protect them mind you. I think that Wyll should have gotten some more tiefling dilouge options to reassure him.

While I work on some new stuff, I figured I'd post some older stuff. I've got a lot of things locked away in my vault that I've never released, so might as well.

Here's the Devilblood Barbarian. A subclass that I created a good while ago, which turns you progressively more devilish as you gain levels. It's mechanically pretty simple, but I think the aesthetic/flavour has potential. Perhaps you're a tiefling with a stronger than usual connection to the Nine Hells. Maybe you've made a pact with a warhungry Arch-Devil, granting you a fraction of their power, or maybe you've been possessed, and the devil inside of you is slowly gaining more and more control.

Path of Devilblood

Fiendish Blood

When you choose this path at 3rd level, you gain darkvision out to a range of 60 feet and resistance to fire damage.

Raise Hell

Also at 3rd level, when you rage, you take on aspects of your lineage. Your teeth and claws grow into natural weapons.

If you hit with your natural weapons, the attack deals slashing damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength modifier instead of normal unarmed strike damage. You can make one attack with your natural weapons as a bonus action.

Feel The Fire

Beginning at 6th level, you can cast the Hellish Rebuke spell an amount equal to half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, per long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier for this spell.

Raging Inferno

At 10th level, the fires of Hell burn outside of you as well as inside. Once per day, you can wreathe yourself in flames as a bonus action. For the next minute, any creature coming into contact with you takes 1d4 fire damage.

Fall To Ascend

Beginning at 14th level, your likeness to the devils completes. When you rage, leathery wings sprout from your back and you gain a fly speed of 60 feet.

It’s weird that like, poets and bards in D&D are strongly associated with tieflings and stuff, and poets and bards in legends and myth are strongly associated with hell/the underworld/demons (Ie, Orpheus, Dante, Violin Duels with the Devil.) But those two associations have like, no overlap. The Devilblooded D&D characters don’t even have pointy beards or anything.

HC#5: DEVIL-BLOODED.

Nobody. it's the term coined when a "Somebody" has their Heart separated from their Body, and two separate beings are created. normally, this is the only way that a Nobody can exist - through the death or separation of a Somebody. but that's no longer true. it is no longer applicable to say that you are a Nobody or you are a Somebody or you are a Heartless.

in this day and age, there are people who can inherit the bloodline of a full Nobody - such as Tristan (the Nobody of Mordred Druei) and Juliet (the daughter of Tristan) - and show their lineage in minor ways, as well as in ways that allow them to never fit in, but they never stand out too much either (of course, if you've ever met Juliet, you'd know that she's an outlier). lately, within recent centuries, there are people who can be half or part Nobody, similarly so with being half of part Heartless.

though these people are no less of a person, they are considered monsters. devilblooded CREATURES more than they are a person with a Soul. they are seen as "the Other" - something to be feared, and not someone to understand. the general populace is weary of Nobodies, and afraid of Heartless. not to even get into Glooms and their effect on the world around them.

lex is half Nobody and half Human. this affects him in multiple ways, ranging from the things he's naturally strong against as well as the things he's naturally weak against. surprisingly, despite all the darkness aligned people who he knows and associates with, one of his major weaknesses is exposure to darkness and all attributes underneath it. the other one is ice. (or anything cold. winter is not friendly to the lexi.)

The Next Town Over was always a good haul. Big enough so he could slip into a crowd, sneak his hands into the pockets of rich tourists and businessmen who looked like they made more money than most of the shopkeepers ever would. Always had a good run there, Rob did, and he’d spend some on a round at a different pub each time and then toss half the rest of it to whatever beggar he saw on the street first and pocket the other half just as a sorta lining for himself.

He walked back to the train station now, at the break of twilight, whistlin’ a little, when he heard a commotion of sorts. Shoutin’, mostly, which normally he wouldn’t pay mind to, ‘cuz who was he to judge a buncha unruly kids getting’ rowdy on a Saturday night?

‘cept they were doin’ more than gettin’ rowdy. ‘cept he heard them yell somethin’ about no-good Magicks (‘cept they said something a little worse than that, mind you).

“Oi!” shouted Rob, roundin�� the corner where a group of secondary-aged boys were gangin’ up on a cowerin’ girl. “Aren’t you lot a little young to be out drinkin’?”

“Ah come off it,” said one of the boys, probably not the leader as far as Rob could tell. “Who’re you, my mum?”

“This dirty little Magick deserves it,” spat another.

“My mum says those with devilblood oughta be kicked outta the country,” said the third, who drew himself up to his full height. Ah yes, there was the leader.

“Dunno if your mum would take too kindly to pickin’ you up from the police station,” said Rob, calmly. “You’re causin’ a ruckus, you are – get outta here right now.”

The leader sized Rob up and Rob didn’t look away. He wasn’t bigger than this boy, in fact, he was much shorter, but he knew how to act tough and knew that there was a way to it, a way to gettin’ posh secondary boys to realize that they were messin’ with someone far outta their skill level.

Eventuallly, the leader shuffled away, gesturing at his two mates to follow him.

Rob watched them leave, then glanced over at the girl, not wantin’ to crowd her up – hell, he wouldn’t trust some stranger off the streets even if they’d rescued him.

Kasey is pretty blindingly positive haha! That's the best way to describe him!

They do have hiccups in their relationship for sure, though. Jasper doesn't trust people, which is due to his father's secret affairs. His dad had a "weekend family", that Jasper and his mom had no clue about, until Katsumi showed up with Alex one day, after Alex's mom died. So Jasper's trust issues stem from that. In all AU’s, Jasper has trust issues that affect him and Kasey’s relationship. Kasey’s biggest struggle is finding the comfortable distance Jasper needs, because he doesn’t like to rely on people, and Kasey has a hard time not minding his own business.

But their most Angsty AU? Hm. In one story, Kasey is planning to propose to Jasper, and Jasper tracks his purchases secretly and mistakes that Kasey buying dinner, staying at a hotel, is him staying with another person. But actually, Kasey is testing the food, and checking the cleanliness of the hotel, to ensure it meets Jasper's standards, for when he proposes to him. When Jasper confronts him about what he thinks is Kasey's affair, Kasey is devastated that Jasper would assume the worst in him, despite all the evidence that he's completely and totally smitten with Jasper, and has done nothing to deserve his distrust. 

Another angsty AU. Hmmmmmm. There's Fantasy AU, but man it's gonna be a long explanation SORRY AHAHAHA. Kasey is training to be a knight at his Aunt's castle, and stumbles into her dark secret: Jasper. His aunt uses Jasper as a secret weapon, because he can use magic. In Fantasy AU, magic is abolished (under his Aunt's orders), with witches (they're called Devilbloods in universe) sent on 'pilgrimages' that end in them dying. So for his Aunt to keep Jasper as a weapon or negotiation tool is pretty scandalous. Kasey starts a secret friendship with him tho. Jasper eventually tells Kasey that his Aunt uses him to kill threats to her kingdom, to threaten nearby kings. He reveals that he has a younger brother, kept in another village, that Kasey's Aunt threatens to have killed if Jasper doesn't follow orders. 

After a friendly public sparring match between Kasey and Ashley ends in revealing Ashley's own forbidden magic, Kasey is injured and Ashley is banished by his mom/Kasey's Aunt. His Aunt decides to have Jasper kill Kasey when he's healing (to play it off like he died from his injuries overnight), so that he can never come for her throne now that her heir is banished. But Jasper struggles to kill Kasey that night, and Kasey convinces him not to. They agree to make it look like Jasper died in their confrontation, so that they can secretly leave together to first save Alex and then save Ashley from his pilgrimage. They eventually fall in love but it's through a lot of struggle and grief first AHAHA this has been such a long explanation IM SO SORRY HERES AN OLD DOODLE OF THEM HAPPY THO
