Dentistry faces forces and trends as the profession continues an evolution that started well before the pandemic. Traditionally, when a dentist decided to retire after 30-40 years, the model didn’t vary much: a younger dentist would purchase an established practice. But the Dental Service Organization (DSO) movement has been one of the most significant changes over the last few years. As dental practices seek more efficient ways to manage their operations and make profitable exits, DSOs have become another solution.

Tim Drake headcanon
He took a dip in the pit but came back from it stronger. It took a while to overcome the side effects but he redirected it into bankrupting Ra's and weakening his assasin empire.
He lured a couple hundred assassins away from Ra's to keep for himself. The small voice in his head told him he had already took a bunch of Jason's shticks and made them better so why not add another to the list.
He buys a big mansion somewhere in the middle of nowhere and starts his own assassin organisation
He takes the computer specialists and assigns them to scouting targets and draining their bank accounts(to be split among the assassins - tim had enough money).
He organises the rest by their specialities. Whenever he takes a new target he checks out their insurance coverage and replaces it with a really bad one. Then he sends out his groups according to the new insurance plan. For example if there is no dental insurance then the dental group will knock them up real bad. Combined with no money in their bank accounts, painful injuries and hospital bills that are not covered by insurance the targets feel emotionally drained(retribution for whatever they do to others). Then the special attack group ends them when they least expect it very painfully.
All in all he gets around gotham and branches out throughout the entire country.
But in the end he never has blood directly on his hands so he counts it a win.
He is also a shark in the boardroom and definitely uses his skills to his advantage. No-one questions him because they're scared shitless of him. He's practically a legend in the company.
Despite his many lucrative businesses he always makes time for date nights with kon and hangouts with kon, bart & cassie ♡ They all know of his assasin group but dont care since he's happy.
Also he ditches the dumb name and costume. He goes by peregrine and designs an actual costume - spiked leather jacket(inspired by kon), black onepiece(fitted with standard bat procedure) and black greek style circlet with wings(inspired by bart and cassie). He uses his bo staff but attaches retractable blades to make him seem like the bringer of death in a way

On November 29th 1599 The Royal Faculty of Physicians and Surgeons was granted its charter by King James VI.
If you remember a previous anniversary when the Barber Surgeons of Edinburgh was given Royal approval in 1505, Barbers were so skilled with their razors they often carried out medical operations on their customers. The charter in 1599 took the barbers out of the equation.
The charter was granted to Peter Lowe, Surgeon, Robert Hamilton, Physician and William Spang, Apothecary. The charter empowered them, their heirs and successors to establish a body to examine all professing the art of surgery in Glasgow and South West Scotland. Uniquely for the time, the charter, as well as creating a body which surgeons could join, also allowed physicians to be members.
The first recorded meeting of the nascent College was held on 3 June 1602 in Glasgow at Blackfriars Kirk. By the end of the 17th century, the Faculty had obtained its first building, the Trongate in Glasgow. In 1791 it moved premises to St Enoch′s Square and then finally in 1862 acquired the magnificent historical building at 242 St Vincent Street, where it is located today.
In December 1909, the Faculty was granted the honorific "Royal" becoming the Royal Faculty of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. With the goodwill of Glasgow University and other individuals active in postgraduate medical education, the Faculty established itself as a postgraduate institution, setting standards in postgraduate medical and dental education, and practice.
The Royal Faculty became the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1962.
Today, they are the only multidisciplinary College in the British Isles with a growing membership of over 10,000 physicians, surgeons, dental professionals, specialists in travel medicine and podiatric medicine.
Find out about Lowe and the charter here

may I ask…you to go on about crocodile’s dentist office?? omg, oral surgeon crocodile?!? wisdom tooth removal?! screaming
Haaaa, yes you may 😳 Thing is, I don't write him without the hook/prosthetic hand - and that is tricky in that field. I personally know someone who suffered an amputation injury (idk if that's the correct translation, in German it's Amputationsverletzung, so simple lol) of two distal phalanges of the left hand and he can't practice anymore. He works for a dental implant company instead - that's why I mentioned Crocodile as a sort-of businessman in the tags of that Doffy/Law dentist shitpost. But....
tags: crack treated seriously, suspend your disbelief bc we're turning baroque works into a fucking dental mill in this jdfksjsk, using the german system bc it's all i know (regarding specialist training etc)
Tumblr media
He's a little... difficult. He may not be able to practice anymore but he didn't stomp this office out of the ground only to hand it to some greenhorn surgeon with a fresh-off-the-press certificate - after all, he still has the license. He still has that knowledge and experience - and he knows how valuable all of that is. No, he's smart about it: hires a capable team of dentists, oral and oms surgeons - and retains the status of 'boss', expands what he already has and pretty much doubles down on work, only this time around it's more behind the scenes. Oversees procedures, advises his employees, does a whole lot of paperwork (and tax evasion), keeps the place extremely well-running and profitable. His business strategy is to cover all dental fields with his operation, so people can have a one-stop shop for everything they could ever get done... orally. Robin is the newest addition to his little roundelay - she's an oral surgeon, yes, but she has just finished her training. She has learned an awful lot during those four years of postgraduate training, but she still lacks a lot of finesse that comes with age and experience. She's one Crocodile's top-earners and he hovers an awful lot - guiding her, monitoring her surgeries, trying to help her get better - and most importantly, faster. (If you were to ask Robin - it's almost stifling but she appreciates the effort) So when you come in, an uncomfortable case of denitio difficilis with one of your lower wisdom teeth terribly close to the inferior alveolar nerve, of course he'll hold his head right into your mouth next to Robin's. He's intimdating, that's for sure - you had expected the very clinical young woman with the prim hair and cool smile coming in on her own. But there he is, right next to her: taller than average, tired but observant eyes, dressed entirely in white scrubs, with a tilt of his head that just screams 'in charge'. One look at him and you just know he doesn't joke around. You can't glean if his presence means good or bad news - and you don't care, you're in too much pain. In the end, he does very little - him and Robin lord over you from up above, that clinical light shining around their heads like a halo while you sweat and cramp and shake on the chair, the bitter taste of anesthesia on your tongue and the cracking of your own bone in your ears. He mutters instructions to her while she performs a coronectomy on you, holds your tongue to the side with the surgical hook, tells you to 'open' and not much more. It isn't easy - the anesthesia doesn't work well due to the inflammation in the area and the pain mixed with your own anxiety has you crying fat tears while the two labor - but you somehow survive it. Robin delicately weaves her stitches into your flesh and crinkles her eyes at your perseverance, just a tad out of breath. Crocodile leaves the second she's tied her last knot, not even telling you goodbye - you pay him no mind, you're just glad you're finally done with this torture. All that's left is to get the time slot for a follow-up appointment. You shuffle back to the front desk, to the skittish man sitting behind a computer, and slur out your request, tongue still numb and jaw sore. He pulls up your digital file - and almost falls off his chair. You don't quite understand what the ruckus is all about until he tells you you're no longer Robin's patient, at least not when it comes to consultations, that you'll be seeing the boss himself next time around. (And a few days later you get to brave the presence of Crocodile all on your own while he takes a long and proper look at the state of your wound.)

Just a little update to a ye olde headcanon I had from a few years ago:
Galra have fangs but they aren't really all that pointy naturally. It was actually an ancient tradition among the galra that their warriors would have their fangs chipped into sharp points as a last ditch weapon. Over time it became the mark of a warrior and was ceremonially done after their first battle, leading to the expression "chisel your fangs"- meaning to pass through an ordeal.
Now that the military's need for sharpened fangs has long fallen under the need for healthy teeth it's expressly against the uniform and hygiene regulations to have cut fangs (due to too much money lost to dental repairing broken fangs and medical stitching gouged lips).
But a lot of the more experienced soldiers will still have the procedure done. After all the galra are very steeped in tradition and it's still considered the mark of a warrior to have sharpened fangs. In fact despite it being a violation of galra military policy a suspicious amount of higher up galra leadership have their fangs sharpened.
But it's also gotten a second association with it. Idiots who enlist and have their fangs cut before they even ship out to bootcamp. It's a quick way to end up a drill instructor's personal favorite and then get roasted mercilessly once graduated and hitting the fleet.
It's also kind of an Army vs Navy thing as well. Since the Navy stays in their ships most of the time it is far less common to see somebody there with chiseled fangs.
Out of all my characters the two that have their fangs cut are Rethan and Belost.
Rethan had his procedure done after his first deployment with the Raiders- it's still very much an alive tradition for them to get their fangs chiseled after their first battle. Nobody gives them any grief for it regarding the uniform policy since the Raiders are regarded as the very embodiment of what it is to be a galra.
Belost had his fangs cut before shipping to bootcamp along with all of his friends. They were all a little too excited. And Theron was pissed when he found out. Fortunately for Belost his time in the Trackers has turned it from a mark of a green idiot to that of a veteran. While it's not as common for the Trackers to cut their fangs it's still considered acceptable for them because of the high standards they're held to, the amount of combat they often see, and because their work as stealth specialists behind enemy lines actually makes sharpened fangs somewhat practical to avoid capture.

What Are the Benefits of Visiting a Dental Clinic in Hari Nagar?
Dental health is addressed by Dentistry at every stage of life. From baby teeth to permanent teeth, children's dental needs differ from those of adults. Qualified family dentists provide complete oral care. Family dentistry is concerned with dental health and oral hygiene, just as general Dentistry. A family dentist, however, emphasizes the special requirements of kids of all ages.
Strong teeth and gums are important for overall health, according to our dental clinic in Hari Nagar. To help you achieve your optimal level of oral health, our team of highly qualified dental specialists is committed to providing you with the most innovative and effective treatments.
We offer a wide range of services, including prosthodontics, periodontics, implantology, endodontics, orthodontics, general dentistry, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. We have the newest equipment and technology at our state-of-the-art facility to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible.
Treatments for Gum disease
Family dentists are aware of how children's teeth develop throughout time as well as the possibility that they may be afraid of the dentist. Family dentists take a soft approach to help kids form lifelong healthy oral hygiene habits and positive connections with routine dental exams. The top dental clinics in Hari Nagar will offer a wide range of services, including more complex procedures like root canals, tooth whitening, and routine checkups and cleanings.
The following six advantages of having a family dentist are:
1. Easy access
Family dentists may treat patients of all ages for a variety of dental issues, so patients won't need to make many trips to the dentist to provide all members of their family routine checkups. Therefore, oral hygiene and cosmetic needs such as veneers, braces, or implants can be taken care of together. The best dentist in Subhash Nagar also offers emergency procedures, such as extractions, to help patients in taking care of any pressing dental difficulties.
2. Scheduled appointments
Family dentists frequently work with patients to schedule an appointment time that works with their schedules. To better serve their patients' requirements, many family dentists, for instance, are willing to accept late appointments.
3. Identifying oral health issues
Early diagnosis of dental issues is facilitated by routine dental checkups. They conduct exams, X-rays, and computer modelling to provide forecasts on oral health problems. A few conditions that can be identified early on include malocclusion, grinding, and attrition brought on by abnormalities in the jaw.
4. Preventive
A family dentist will advise both adults and children on how to prevent serious and widespread issues like tooth decay. They also give the teeth fluoride and sealant treatments.
5. Medication
Of course, they are also in charge of treating dental issues like crowding, misalignment, and other issues. A committed practice will go through all of the available therapy choices with the patient. They will help create a therapy strategy that meets the needs of the patient.
6. Education and updates
To give the patient the finest dental care possible, family dentists will also educate them on proper toothpaste usage, diet, and other topics. They will provide information on the state of the family's oral health as well as the newest techniques and technology in dentistry that can improve the general dental care of the family.
Conclusion
Every member of our staff is dedicated to offering the greatest patient care and customer service to ensure that every patient leaves our clinic smiling. You don't need to look any further for an excellent facility than the Dental Clinic in Hari Nagar. Our commitment to achieving greatness while simultaneously focusing on the well-being of our patients sets us apart. Schedule a meeting with us now to experience the difference for yourself. When looking for a dentist nearby, patients and their families might benefit from knowing what a family dentist does. In terms of the family's dental hygiene, this is the first step toward early identification, prevention, treatment, education, and convenience.

Cw: teeth, dental malpractice, vent post, don’t worry I have a competent team now
I’ve been going in to the dental school almost every week for more than a year now, getting major work done on about two-thirds of my teeth.
Thanks to the fun combo of weird recessive genes and literal malpractice, my teeth are messed up in interesting and expensive ways.
On the outside, they look fairly normal.
My hobby is watching the students quietly freak out when they see the X-rays.
There’s a committee of professors arguing about the situation with my lateral incisors. Still no agreement, because all options are bad. I was given incredibly botched dental implants when I was too young, and now there’s no obvious way to salvage the upper jaw without a risk of breaching through to the nasal cavity.
While they argue that over, we’ve been slowly working across my lower jaw.
Today was a consultation regarding the botched molar root canal. Because I’ve had dental malpractice on four completely separate occasions.
The endodontist started the visit by being like “Best practice is usually to save the tooth rather than extraction. We will take images and make a plan.”
and I was like, okay, so, FYI, Lidocaine doesn’t work normally on me, when the Third Malpractice Dude originally did this root canal he hit the maximum safe dose only halfway through and then tried to get through the next forty minutes of literally shredding my nerve ends with zero painkiller, and then he gave up and had me come back for a second session, and the same thing happened again, so please don’t do that to me a third time?
She was like ooookay, noted.
I was like so the other thing that happened was a tool broke off inside one of the roots, and the guy couldn’t figure out how to remove it, so he left it in there as packing material? I guess he was getting frustrated with my uncontrollable sobbing and just wanted to be done with that root. That must be how the infection got pushed down to where it’s currently eating at the bone, haha. Anyway that bit of metal is still stuck in there, plus he used another metal rod in the packing?
She was like that’s a complication, but I am an esteemed specialist in repairing root canals, and in the standard xray it looks reasonable.
I was like okay and also I’ve been told that my roots are in a really weird shape, and very close to the major nerve?
She was like well, the 3D images have almost finished compiling, we shall assess all of these factors together and decide.
The 3D images loaded.
We looked at the coronal view.
I was like “Wow. Obviously, NO.”
She was like “Let me help you schedule with Extraction. I have GOT to show this to the attending physician. It was lovely meeting you!”

have you guys ever answered any questions about the cat friendly practice program? i learned about it recently and am considering telling my vet about it, so i was curious if you guys had any experience with the program. i'm also kind of curious how it came to exist in the first place; idk much abt vet school but i assumed youd learn enough that the existence of a program to help vets handle cats better wouldnt be needed. or is it just for ppl not specialized in cats?
gettingvetted here.
Your vet is probably aware of the Cat Friendly Practice program offered by the American Association of Feline Practitioners. You don't have to be a specialist to participate and they also offer certificates for individual vets and techs as well as educational information for owners on how to create a Cat Friendly Home. In order to be a Cat Friendly Practice, at least one vet in the practice has to be a member of the AAFP (which involves membership fees and requires a certain amount of cat-specific CE to be obtained over the course of 3 years, as well as attending the AAFP conference at least once every 3 years to maintain membership - this is also not free) and there is a lengthy list of qualifications required to obtain Cat Friendly Practice status.
I am a Cat Friendly Veterinarian (which required 8 hours of CE and $300 in and of itself) and if I was going to stay with my current practice, we would be working toward Cat Friendly Practice certification. However, as an associate and not a practice owner, I really have no power to make some of the decisions that would be required for Cat Friendly status of the practice overall. Most things are "common knowledge" or otherwise simply just best practices, like refusing to perform declaws as a practice, or making sure each patient receives pain relief before, during, and after surgical procedures. However, some of them are a little nitpicky or otherwise difficult to achieve. For example, we have one dentistry instrument pack in the practice. If there are multiple dentistry procedures in a day, the instruments are cleaned between procedures, but we don't have additional sets of instruments for the next patient(s). That's okay because dentistry isn't a sterile procedure, but in order to be Cat Friendly Practice certified we would need to have individual instruments for each dental procedure. That's several thousand dollars of investment for the practice. Each staff member also has to have 5 hours of cat-specific continuing education each year, even if it's informal (for example, discussing feline handling or a certain disease during a staff meeting) but that still eats into clinic time and must be prepared by a staff member.
Feline handling (or honestly, most handling of animals in general) isn't really discussed in most vet schools. Education on restraint and handling is often limited to a checkmark during clinical rotations - "demonstrate restraint of patient for an exam", "perform jugular blood draw on a cat or dog" etc. And for every vet student that does get good feline handling education, there is a vet that is 70+ years old that still boxes cats down and handles them by scruffing. That's why the program was created.
