The Marvel Era of G.I. Joe and Transformers
The Marvel Era of G.I. Joe and Transformers comics and animated series, produced by Sunbow and Marvel Productions, was undoubtedly the best for both toy franchises of Hasbro. The 1980s was a time of great innovation in the world of toys, and Hasbro was at the forefront of this revolution. By partnering with Marvel Productions, Hasbro was able to produce some of the most memorable and beloved comic book series and animated shows of all time
One of the key reasons why the Marvel Era was so successful for Hasbro was the quality of the storytelling. The G.I. Joe and Transformers comics and animated series were written by some of the best writers in the business, and they were able to create rich, engaging storylines that kept fans coming back for more. These stories were full of action, adventure, and excitement, and they helped to bring these toy franchises to life in a way that had never been seen before
Another reason why it was so successful was the way that the comics and animated series were able to cross-promote the toys. The G.I. Joe and Transformers toys were already popular, but the comics and animated series helped to create a whole new level of excitement around these franchises. Fans of the comics and animated series wanted to collect the toys, and vice versa. This cross-promotion helped create a virtuous sales cycle that was incredibly profitable for Hasbro
The era was also successful because of the way that it was able to capture the imagination of children. The G.I. Joe and Transformers comics and animated series were full of colorful characters, amazing vehicles, and incredible battles. Children were able to engage with these franchises in a way that was both exciting and educational. They learned about teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving as they watched their favorite heroes and villains battle it out on the screen and on the pages of the comics
The Writers
Tumblr media
Larry Hama (Photo by Ramsay de Give)
There were several comic book writers who wrote excellent stories for both G.I. Joe and Transformers franchises in the 1980s. Some of them include:
Larry Hama - Hama was the main writer for the G.I. Joe comic book series and is widely considered to be one of the best writers to ever work on the franchise. He was responsible for creating many of the characters and storylines that would go on to become iconic parts of the G.I. Joe mythos
Bob Budiansky - Budiansky was the writer for the original Transformers comic book series and also helped to create many of the characters and storylines that would become part of the franchise. He wrote the first 50 issues of the series and is credited with helping to establish the Transformers as a major player in the world of comics
Simon Furman - Furman took over the Transformers comic book series after Budiansky and helped to continue the franchise's success. He is widely considered to be one of the best writers to ever work on the Transformers, and he was responsible for many of the key storylines and character developments that helped to shape the franchise
Michael Higgins - Higgins was a writer for both the G.I. Joe and Transformers comic book series in the 1980s. He helped to develop many of the storylines and characters for both franchises and was responsible for some of the most memorable moments in both series
These writers, among others, helped to create the rich and engaging storylines that made the G.I. Joe and Transformers franchises so successful in the 1980s. Their contributions helped to establish the franchises as major players in the world of comics and animation, and their influence can still be felt in these franchises today
The Artists

Tumblr media
Cover Art by Jim Lee
There were several talented comic book artists who worked on the Marvel Era of G.I. Joe and Transformers comics, and many of them remain favorites among fans to this day. Here are a few notable names:
Herb Trimpe - Trimpe was the original artist on the G.I. Joe comic book series and worked on the title for its first 50 issues. He is widely regarded as one of the defining G.I. Joe artists and is credited with creating some of the most iconic designs for the characters
Larry Hama - Hama not only wrote the G.I. Joe comic book series, but he also created many of the characters and storylines that defined the franchise. His work on the series has been praised for its depth, character development, and strong military themes
Don Perlin - Perlin was the original artist on the Transformers comic book series and worked on the title for its first 20 issues. He is credited with helping to establish the look and feel of the Transformers universe, and his work on the series remains popular among fans
Andrew Wildman - Wildman took over as the primary artist on the Transformers comic book series with issue #56 and worked on the title for several years. He is known for his dynamic and detailed artwork, which helped to bring the Transformers characters to life in the comics
Jim Lee - Lee worked on the G.I. Joe comic book series in the early 1990s and is credited with helping to revitalize the franchise with his distinctive art style. His work on the series is still highly regarded by fans today
These are just a few of the many talented artists who worked on G.I. Joe and Transformers comics during that era. Their contributions helped to make these franchises some of the most beloved in pop culture history
Dennis O’Neil
Tumblr media
Dennis O'Neil was a legendary editor for Marvel Comics, and his impact on the G.I. Joe and Transformers franchises was significant. O'Neil was known for his meticulous attention to detail and his commitment to creating quality stories that would resonate with readers. After all, he came up with the name Optimus Prime
In the case of G.I. Joe, O'Neil was instrumental in bringing the franchise to Marvel Comics in the first place. He recognized the potential of the toy line and helped to create a comic book series that would go on to become one of the most successful of the 1980s. O'Neil worked closely with writer Larry Hama to develop the characters and storylines that would become iconic parts of the G.I. Joe mythos
Tumblr media
O'Neil's influence on the Transformers franchise was equally significant. He became the editor of the Transformers comic book series in the mid-1980s, and he helped to steer the franchise in a new direction. O'Neil recognized that the Transformers had the potential to be more than just a toy line, and he worked with writer Simon Furman to create a more sophisticated and complex storyline that would appeal to older readers
Under O'Neil's guidance, the Transformers comic book series became darker and more mature, with a greater emphasis on character development and story complexity. O'Neil encouraged Furman to develop more complex story arcs and explore the deeper themes and ideas in the Transformers franchise
Overall, Dennis O'Neil's impact on the G.I. Joe and Transformers franchises cannot be overstated. His commitment to quality storytelling and his willingness to take risks helped establish both franchises as major players in comics and animation. His legacy continues to be felt in these franchises today, and his influence on the world of comics will be remembered for years to come
End Note
The Joes and Robots in Disguise’s Marvel Era in the 80s were successful because of the way that they helped to shape popular culture. The G.I. Joe and Transformers franchises were not just popular with children; they were also popular with adults. The comics and animated series helped to create a sense of nostalgia for a bygone era, and they helped to inspire a new generation of writers, artists, and filmmakers
In conclusion, the Marvel Era of G.I. Joe and Transformers comics and animated series helped to shape popular culture in a way that is still being felt today. The quality of the storytelling, the cross-promotion of the toys, the imaginative world-building, and the impact on popular culture all contributed to the success of the Marvel Era. It is no wonder that these franchises continue to be popular with fans of all ages

Reasons to ship every single version of MegOP
since Very Dumb Discourse™ exists about whether or not certain versions of this ship are valid, this is going to be THE most positive post about all versions of MegOP. refer back to this post for reasons to ship your favorite version of MegOP if anyone gets weird about it with you. now let us begin!!
G1: goofy '80s faction dads fighting each other in a denny's parking lot every week LET'S GOOO, that shit is fun as fuck. orion pax also totally had a celeb crush on megatron before megatron ruined that and shot him and his pals 😔 and there's a lot of angst you can add with megatron becoming galvatron and optimus coming back to life to see how much he's changed!
BW: it's the sheer fucking comedy gold factor of a newly minted college graduate and a terrorist dinosaur IMMEDIATELY singling each other out on a prehistoric rock and deciding to call their daily gang slap-fights the BEAST WARS, what iconic drama queens LMAOOOO. also, megatron made his final body in BM look like optimal optimus SPECIFICALLY to fuck with him, and that's just...incredible
UT: the fact that megatron CANONICALLY acted like a grieving widower over optimus after he died in armada is. amazing. never forget their absolutely insane obsession with each other that they can never EVER give up on played a direct part in unicron nearly ending the world <3
Bayverse: this is the one continuity of all fucking things that gave us the lore about megatron being prime's lord high protector. absolute galaxy brain writing from the tie-in comics. also these two would ABSOLUTELY have the messiest, nastiest, most brutal hate sex imaginable, and that's beautiful. <3
Animated: optimus being a rookie washout underdog and megatron being a super scary much older warlord is a really interesting and underrated fresh take on their dynamic! lots of fun to be had with exploring what their relationship would be like after megatron finally acknowledged him as his archnemesis, lol. also...age AND size difference ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Prime: do i even need to say anything, i'm pretty sure that one flashback still of orion and megatronus being friends is responsible for birthing a million shippers for this pairing alone LMAOOOO. the bitter ex-boyfriends energy was TRULY off the charts in this show, it's a damn shame megatron never appeared in RID15
Cyberverse: same bitter ex-boyfriends energy but this time with dates at maccadams. megatron also dies encouraging optimus to beat the unhinged alternate dimension megs AAHH THE ANGST
IDW1: they're both depressed gay war criminals in this one who CONSTANTLY live in each other's heads rent-free and that's amazing, lmfao. also, megatron becoming an autobot means this is one of the VERY FEW continuities where it's not nigh impossible to figure out a way to give these two a happy ending together in fanon
IDW2: space date space date SPACE DATE. they were falling together and everything. megatron also LITERALLY tells optimus to open himself to him...to give him the matrix...yeah megs my dude i'm sure that's the ONLY thing you wanted from optimus "opening" himself. toootally positive, lol
G1 Marvel: megatron was SUPER fucking pissed and weird as shit about the time optimus died over a video game. it counts
Dreamwave: their first fight had megatron urging optimus to join him AND they disappeared together in a space bridge explosion once which is like, a fanfic-esque setup for them to be alone. also i'm pretty sure this is the continuity where optimus accidentally gave megatron a lobotomy, so...uh...potential for angst is to be had
SG: mirror universe!! evil crazy villain optimus with noble goody-goody hero megatron has so much potential for absolute chaos. bonus if you also bring in the normal versions somehow through multiverse shenanigans <3
KP: the only way this version of prime can redeem himself from the creepy underage human girl bullshit is if he gets a good hard dicking from megatron. next
Prime Wars: huge "ex-husbands go on a road trip with their disgruntled daughter" energy here. megatron also LITERALLY says "oh optimus, if only you could see me now" <3
Earthspark: again...need i say why? they're pals and working together from the get-go, what's not to ship??
Skybound: optimus literally wears megatron's arm. truly beautiful <3
TF One: it's not out yet but give it time. the entire movie is going to be about orion and d-16 being madly in love and tragically breaking up, baby!!

I just now noticed the ES Quintesson Judge has hands.
The Judges typically only have tentacles.
Tumblr media
Except for the time the CV Quintessons had Appmon Plugs for tentacles.
Tumblr media
So the judges having hands now is funny to me.
So what becomes of the Quintessons in EarthSpark going forward? Heck if I know as of typing. EarthSpark has been a poorly written slog that doesn’t know what to do with itself, just like everything else that’s defined the current crop of so called modern kids cartoons…
Provided it’s not another cut concept in the next batch, the Quintessons appear to be set up as the next antagonists. They have abandonment issues, an axe to grind with Papa Quintus, and seek to abuse the power of a Prime. Be it the Emberstone (which was their original target) or the Cyber Sleeves (as the Executioner rebooted with its power).
For all the people grumbly about the Quintessons being here and thinking they don’t fit/aren’t interesting; I’m sorry to say that they were an inevitability. Quintus Prime’s only defining characteristic is that he’s the creator of the Quintessons, as a reverse homage to G1 where the Quintessons created the Transformers. For a show themed entirely around Quintus and his relic, it wouldn’t make sense to NOT finally explore this idea especially in an era where the Quintessons are gaining more relevancy again.
The problem before is there wasn’t time or reason to explore this concept in Prime, WFC, or Cyberverse. WFC implied the 80’s cartoon origin, while CV instead made the Quints into Dr. Who meets The Matrix villains, completely dodging Quintus. I’d argue yet again you could’ve squeezed it into RiD15, with the Quintessons coming to harvest relics on Earth after the Great War for a future strike on Cybertron, with Bumblebee’s Autobots standing in their way. I’m not sure how the Emberstone or Quintus himself would factor into this off the top of my head, but I could see a TFA homage where the stone makes Wreck-Gar out of the junk in Denny’s scrapyard.
As for what ES could do. My guess off hand is such.
Quintus’ lesser known thing is he created Space Bridges, and IDW MetroTitans are depicted as having built in Space Bridges to travel around…
Tumblr media
Ergo one plot could be the Quintessons trick the Decepticons into reactivating a potential space bridge already built into Terratronus, under a false promise it would take them back to Cybertron, but instead the Quints appear on Earth through it and take control of Terratronus.
In the end, Terratronus could also be as such.
Tumblr media
She Transforms into city mode and becomes a new version of (IDW) Autobot City. Possibly this is functionally New Cybertron (or the Little Cyberton refuge town via IDW).
Tumblr media
With this, she becomes the end goal of the human-Cybertron alliance with humans, Transformers and Quintessons (and any other aliens created by Quintus in particular) coming to live in the city founded by the Maltobots.

Mom video-called me and asked me what I'm doing. I took a while to answer and she says, "Are you drawing that orange fella? What was his name again? Oh right, Fixit. Fixit Fixit Fixit Fixit-" JHGJDHHGFDFFGHKJG- (I was actually playing Moshi Monsters Rewritten but the last few times she called I was—indeed—drawing "that orange fella.") She searched him up on Google Images and some things she said: "Huh? He has wheels for feet?"
"Why is he red in these images?" (She was either looking at his G1 render or looking at somebody's caretaker mini-con fan character, if I were to guess)
"Who is the man with the beard?" (Denny Clay)
Me: "So, what do you think of him?" [Fixit]
Mom: "Yeah, he's cute. Cute character."
Mom approves.

"Weird Al" Yankovic - Dare to be Stupid (Scotti Bros.-Rock 'n Roll, 1985) - art direction by Lane/Donald, illustration by Lou Beach, photograph by Dennis Keeley
The "nerdy" Weird Al covers are one of my favorites. I miss the glasses and mustache.
The title track, a parody of the music of rock group Devo, was later used in the soundtrack for The Transformers: The Movie (the animated G1 film, not to be confused with any of the Michael Bay movies).

any ally/trainer/duelist/helper may have their ace partners, but they have their super human partners to fight their enemies with their honorable rules, in the original series, every human heroes can have their pogiformers & their pokemon & duel deck & their transformers as their ace partners, but in mobile series, all the mobile human will take place of pogiformers & pokemon & duel deck & transformers to become the mobile partners/mobile heroes of the normal human heroes as the main mobile human heroes of the mobile series, because both human can work together as a super human teams, however their pogiformers & their pokemon & duel deck & their transformers from the original serries are still here in the mobile series as their support characters for the main human characters of the mobile series.

TFA! TFA!
You and the lovely @moonriveryearnings asked for TFA, so here goes!
The first character I first fell in love with: I distinctly remember being absolutely captivated with Shockwave’s design. At that point in my descent into the TF canons, I had only encountered TFP and tangentially, G1. Shockwave’s TFA design is just such a step in a different direction from his original design, and it also kind of meets all my standards for character design. Big, lanky, inhuman-ish, antlers, claws??? Pair all of that with his role as a double agent and I was hooked.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Two, no, three answers for this one: Wasp, Starscream, and Blitzwing. It’s a well-known fact that TFA varies most heavily from the initial source material, and at the point I started watching TFA, I had only Prime for reference. I hadn’t even heard of Beast Wars outside of memes (how far we’ve come from then…). Because of his tragic lack of screen time and inspired by who I knew was a joke character from Beast Wars, I really didn’t expect that much of Wasp from TFA. But then all three of those episodes came together to hit me in the face and leave me for dead in a Denny’s parking lot. Once I actually learned Wasp’s story in context, it was all over for me, and watching Beast Wars made me appreciate him even more. I even put a reference to him in my DnD campaign! And TFA Starscream, as you know, is very different from TFP Starscream. Both iterations are good in their own ways, it just took me a little while to warm up to Scream in Animated. What really sold me were his scenes with his clones, and Tom Kenny killed it with his vocal performance. With Blitzwing, I thought he made for pretty good comic relief, but took the whole triple-changer thing at face value (pun possibly intended). What got me to go “wait a fucking minute. What” with him was the idea that he was turned into a triple-changer setting off the headcanon alarms everywhere. Not to mention the influences of Jace and Mac.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Blackarachnia. Don’t get me wrong, she works fine for the story she’s in, but having seen her original Beast Wars iteration, I’m a little salty.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I… can’t really think of anyone for this, although I will say that there is a severe lack of Wasp in general amongst the fandom. Did we watch the same show??
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Again, don’t really have one for this. If I liked ‘em at the beginning, I like ‘em now.
The character I’d want to be like: In this new year may I have the tenacity of Starscream, the steadfastness of Megatron, the theatricality of Blitzwing, and the murderous capabilities of Shockwave.
The character I’d slap: Sentinel Prime. It’s on sight. I’m not hesitating, bitch.
A pairing that I love: Rather unexpectedly, StarOp has captivated me. It’s mostly about the parallels between Starscream and Optimus, their arcs that have to do with leadership, their differing responses to trauma and the brimming narrative potential I can smell if they were to meet in circumstances that didn’t immediately spark a fight. Also, MegaShock is wholly too cute and made wholly too painful by the events of the series, which makes it even better.
A pairing that I despise: SentiOp. Optimus deserves so much more.

Here’s a head cannon for everyone! Raoul from tf g1 is a spunky New York City boi who doesn’t have any family or… any kinda past.
My head cannon:
1. Raoul’s full name is Raoul Conner. He’s the first born son to Mexican hottie Carl Conner and Japanese May Conner
2. Raoul has a little sister… June (Conner) Darby. Yep… Jack has the crazy Corvette boi for an uncle
3. Raoul’s dad is a theatre geek and he named his son after Raoul from Phantom of the Opera.
4. Carl and May split up because of May’s racist parents. (She actually punched her mother and father and she quit speaking to them afterwards and she point blank refused to attend their funerals)
5. Raoul is VERY protective of June and his buddies Spike, Carly, Chip Chase, the Clay brothers (Denny and his little bro Dennis), April (Fowler) Clay (Dennis’ wife) and the list goes on.
6. Raoul owns his childhood home and he loves watching movies.
7. Despite being named after a Phantom of the Opera character, Raoul hates that production. Why? His high school put on the play and Raoul was cast as Raoul de Chagny and to his horror, June was Christine daae. Raoul was NOT gonna passionately kiss his own sister in front of the whole school!
8. Tracks and Raoul reunite after May dies of old age but Tracks has gotten together with blaster.
9. Raoul ends up with my oc Liliana.

My unnecessary and irrelevant reviews about the transformers media I have consumed.
Please let me have this. I was doom scrolling and transformers is my comfort fandom.
G1: I have not watched all of it, I do plan on doing so but I did watch it when I was younger and does invoke nostolgia. I watched it on Teletoon Retro (does that even exist anymore?) ((just googled it, rip teletoon retro)). For some reason I really like the episode The Ultimate Weapon. I am a huge fan of First Aid and it was because of this episode and I have no idea why. Rodimus is the main character of that episode with First Aid just having a very prominent role in the side story of that episode. I really liked the Aerialbots and their storyline with the time traveling and the not knowing if they’re on the right side was really cool. Honestly the animation errors and weird inconsistent story are part of the charm I guess.
RID 2001: another show I’ve only seen tidbits of. I watched this one via random episodes illegally uploaded to YouTube in the early to mid 2010s and now all those videos are taken down. As a lover of camp, this is camp. I love it. Transformers as a concept is pretty camp (which is why I adore it) and I definitely will watch all of this one day. Though Sideburn is cool and all, I do wish he didn’t chase a red sports car every episode. Otherwise he’s one of my favourites cause himbo rights I guess.
Transformers IDW 2005: So... I read the entirety of the idw comics purely because I found out Thundercracker was a screenplay writer and I wanted to read the entire story so I got the complete context of his development from scary fighter jet to an Oscar winner. I was not disappointed, I was met with queer and trans representation of all sorts, a diverse storyline with action filled parts, comedy elements, slice of life, political drama, adventure, horror, and the best road trip through space. Honestly I was not expecting transformers of all things to have queerness represented so casually and quite well in my opinion (though technically they are guilty of bury your gays, I don’t count it cause there was a clear reason for that death) Thundercracker was marked as one of my favourites cause of this series. I did experience a wonderful story because I wanted to see how he got his happy ending. My biggest criticism of idw transformers is that I love their interpretations of characters and sadly I know I’ll probably never get to seen them like that again. But if I want to experience those characters like that, I’ll just re read it I guess.
Transformers Animated: I have watched the entirety of this great show twice and it still love it. Funny characters, a human character that has a purpose, and a fun change to the formula, Transformers Animated has one of my favourite Optimus and made a Bumblebee so lovably loud they had to take away his voice so he wouldn’t become too powerful. Loved all of the characters except the human villains, Headmaster did not age well and I wasn’t in love with Ratchet’s design but his personality more than made up for it. If you want more animated, I love Transformers ReAnimated the void is filled by that series and channel. While I wish it got another season, it’s ending was satisfying enough I guess.
Transformers Prime: Smokescreen is great and was underutilizes -100/10. Just kidding, kind of I really enjoyed Prime. I’ve only watched through it completely once cause when I was a child I did not like the designs since apparently as a child I was a G1 loyalist I guess. Though now Prime has one of my favourite styles that still holds up today. Dramatic story with actual character development, I can over look that the plots a tad slow. I wish Breakdown was utilized more and it also could have benefited from an extra season but the movie wrapped it up much better than animated’s ending. Knockout is an amazing character and I was spoiled while I was watching it that he turns Autobot though I didn’t realize that wasn’t until the literal end of the series. Would’ve like a completely fleshed out Breakdown and Knockout or at least Knockout redemption arc but there’s always fanfiction I guess.
Robots in Disguise 2015: I didn’t hate it? It definitely helped that I watched this before Prime for some reason. I liked the designs, Sideswipe... himbo rights. Biggest flaw is the lack of character growth. I just want nice things for Sideswipe, Strongarm and Fixit. Grimlock was fun, I like Bumblebee trying to be a good leader and Optimus should have stayed dead. The crossover and referenced to Rescue Bots was fun and Blurr and Sideswipe was the rivalry I didn’t know I needed. But the one I really needed was Smokescreen in there too. The ending arc was interesting though not executed the best and Steeljaw did a lot of the heavy lifting for the villain side to a point where they over utilized him and his character suffered as a result. Windblade was not as bad as people online said she was, splitting the group up into two was stupid cause I’m bitter and still don’t want Optimus there. Also long list of underutilization: Denny and Russel Clay, Jazz, all the characters from prime except Optimus and Bee, Jetfire and Jetstorm, More Rescue bots, and many more! Like that girl that’s Russel’s friend that I literally don’t remember because I’m pretty sure the writers forgot about her! Anyways, in retrospect the show probably wasn’t great but I liked it I guess.
Rescue Bots: This show is way better than it needed to be. I actually love the no Decelticons and war. I’m a sucker for slice of life and especially slice of life with a twist. Human villains that were actually interesting, actual character development, continuity (somewhat), great human characters all while being target for children. I’m so happy I watched this show while I was kind of the target age and rewatching it for the third time was great cause some of the science jargon actually made sense to me. Satisfying ending too and honestly it can just appeal to everyone. Love all four of the main rescue bots and constantly wish they made evergreen designs and toys for them so they could at least make cameos in other transformers media. Sometimes it’s nice to have transformers being wholesome I guess.
Rescue Bots Academy: ... I was not the age democratic for this show and I somehow still liked it? Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve been gravitating to more wholesome content due to current events but it was actually good? Love all the students, I do miss the old crew and characters like Doc Green and Frankie are under utilized and the Burns family is almost nowhere to be found :(. Once again there’s some actual character development and Hot Shot’s mentor relationship with Heatwave is super sweet. Also actually having positive post war Decepticon and Autobot relationships in this children’s show? Woah. Biggest issue is like RID 2015; the lack of continuity and characters completely disappearing. Perceptor was fun and I was not expecting him to appear. And I love me some microscope dude. It was a good send off for the aligned continuity I guess.
Cyberverse: ending too soon. I was about to be upset that bumblebee didn’t have his voice but he had his voice in his head which was great. Episodes like the velocitron one was really good and it definitely got better with each season and peaked in the Quintesson arc and then rolled to the cancellation date. Thundercracker shouldn’t have been killed off but I’m very biased. Seeing the rebuilding of Cybertron was cool. Windblade and Bumblebee had a fun relationship. I really liked this iteration of Grimlock. Perceptor was super interesting but then they did nothing with him after the Quintesson arc which was a shame and I would have liked to see better relationships between the Autobots and Decepticons after the team up. Also wholesome Whirl was fun. Honestly this needed one more season so bad. I just think it could have been great if it got one. But it’s still good I guess.
War for Cybertron: ...let’s see how I feel after Kingdom comes out but right now, meh. For me my favourite transformers characters usually end up being side characters due to me wishing they had more screen time so in this case, Red Alert is great please show me more of Red Alert. I get what all the people are saying about the voice acting and whatever but I can look past it (though please give us Peter Cullen or let the current VC make his own Optimus voice). But one thing is that all the YouTube reviewers be saying that I completely agree with is that it’s dark. Like lighting wise. I occasionally had trouble making out what was happening because it was dark. Honestly my biggest issue isn’t a fault of the show. I like development of multiple characters to be shown so I can fall in love with a multitude of characters but due to short seasons, it makes sense to focus in completely on one character at a time. Siege in my opinion at least let me see more of the background characters rather than Earthrise but I’d probably like Earthwise more if I was a bigger fan of Optimus. I’m going to watch Kingdom but I’m not expecting to be wowed I guess.
In conclusion, I should watch Beast Wars, I’m going to re read the ending of Lost Light again and revel in the melancholic ending I adore and I really like Thundercracker and First Aid. One great thing about transformers and other franchises that have been around for awhile, if you don’t like the current thing, there’s plenty of last media and you probably won’t need to wait too long for the next piece of media you’ll hopefully like.
Please be good idw 2019, I’ve read a bit of you and I have a scrap of hope. Oh please please please be good. Give some characters the Thundercracker treatment.

how to make rid2015 the best tf series ever
instead of being intimidated/angered by windblade, strongarm is as hyped about her as she is about every other authority figure she meets. idk i just think it’s very ooc for her not to like windblade (but we all know it’s because two women just cant get along amirite lads)
bee has tiny horns on his head, like in g1 and tfa
trans denny clay canon
more emphasis on the ongoing plot and less screen time for non-story relevant decepticons. like forreal, every season ending is rushed
more screentime for interesting villains, like shadow raker (shame he was in just one episode bc/ dude has a past with drift, slipstream and jetfire. that couldve spawned more episodes). oh, and make the decepticons capable of doing things and succeeding every once in a while. that would be nice
more jazz
okay listen... what if bee didn’t get his disability fixed in the ending of tfp, and he’d use cybertronian sign language along with his beeps in rid2015? like wouldnt it be cool to see that bee’s disability didn’t hold him back from becoming a teacher and a capable leader?
please make planet earth look like time has passed since tfp. bee is clearly older than he was in tfp, and knowing that cybertronians can live for millions of years, i’d like to see a futuristic take on earth. make it look like time has passed.
^ OR .... rid2015 isn’t a sequel to tfp. problem solved.
