i hate billionares. i hate climate terrorists. i hate people who don’t hold sexual assault felons fucking accountable & maintain complicity in their behaviour. i hate white feminism. i hate perpetuators of capitalism and hierarchal exploitation. i hate narcissistic assholes who will do the MOST to get any press and make it everyone’s fucking problem.
i hate taylor swift, travis kelce, blake lively, the fucking mahomes siblings, mass corporations, the superbowl.
genuinely sick and tired of the goddamn bootlicking of celebrities and corporations. fine, stan taylor swift. fine, keep buying starbucks and mcdonalds even though they are COMPLICIT in the palestinian genocide. but do NOT pretend to be a good, decent human being, because you’re fucking ignorant and no one wants to fucking hear it.

i’m going to be starting a job soon where it looks like almost all of my coworkers/bosses are going to be cis women and i am…terrified. especially since this is the job i’m going to have to get time off from for top surgery.
if there’s one thing i’ve learned over the almost ten years of my transition, it’s that a situation where i’m the only guy there is one where my gender is guaranteed to not be respected. it really feels like far too many cis women realize they’re alone with a trans man and just see it as an opportunity to act out some sort of power fantasy where they get to stick it to the big bad evil men by taking out their anger on the first man they see without the power to fight back. that or they decide you’re “just one of the girls” and will not hear otherwise, but honestly, given where i’m at in my physical transition, i have a feeling the former is more likely.
there was a time when i felt safer around cis women than around cis men, but now it’s just a different kind of threat.

Will your L say “fuck” again please? 🥺🤭
broooooo imagining him on top of you in a dark room, you can barely see so you’re relying completely on feeling and he’s huffing right into your ear little sighs and whimpers.
his arms are shaking, elbows bucking as he holds his weight up and gets exercise for the first time in weeks. he’s exhausted, sweaty and a little thirsty but your hushed moans and the feel of your legs wrapped around his waist keeps him going.
he’s panting, probably embarrassingly like a dog and he would care about it, but holy shit the way you feel around him is occupying all his mind space. he pumps into you again, with a stupid little choked noise and your fingers tighten around his arms.
his thrusts are more of tight shoves, he only ever gets about an inch or so out before he’s diving back in with a gasp.
then as he’s getting closer and you’re both getting hotter and hotter, his lips are right on your ear and his cheek against yours when he cries out a high pitched “Fuck!”
his hips rock like a ship in unruly waves, his hair sticks to his forehead and his entire body shivers as he cums inside you. your stoic boyfriend murmurs a few more cuss words as he comes down from his high. he’ll probably feel pathetic tomorrow but right now, with your legs pulling his hardening cock back in and your eager grin, L can’t find it in him to care.
but he does find it in him to whisper out another “Fuck…” as he’s enveloped in your warmth again.

truth in advertising laws covering online store search results would do sooo much damage to enshittification
like if i search "gluten free" it should be illegal for walmart for instance to include items that are not gluten free in the results of that search
if it's super important to have "associated terms" or w/e included that could be an option for customers to opt into i guess but this thing where you HAVE TO pick through 5000 irrelevant items to find the 3 that actually meet the search criteria should be illegal
also if you sort by price and it does not actually sort by price (as none of the big shopping websites do anymore seems like) that should be illegal too.
thank you for coming to my old man yells at cloud talk but also i'm right.

I think the thing that's important for us to remember is that cost volatility is actually all about fossil fuel dependency.
The more that we are dependent on fossil fuels, it means the more we are dependent on global events. As we saw with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as we see with the choices that come out of the UAE, as well as many other regions of the world, oil and gas development and drilling in Latin America, as well as in the United States. The more dependent we are on oil and gas, the more crazy our prices are going to be, and the more up and down our prices are going to be. And the fact that, for example, we have not developed electric or alternative energy vehicles earlier is one of the reasons why we pay such close attention to gas prices to begin with.
And we would not be as sensitive to the changes in energy costs if we weren't so fossil fuel dependent.
And Donald Trump knows that.
The oil and gas industry knows that.
And that is why they finance huge parts of lobbying our government in order to keep the country entirely dependent on fossil fuels.
Now, if you prefer gas cars and gas stoves, you're free to make that choice.
But what we haven't had is accessible and broad choices for something else. EVs have been in development, but for a very long time, they've been financially inaccessible to a lot of people in this country. The Inflation Reduction Act helped change that. We got huge tax breaks for both new and used EVs. If you're trying to buy one off your neighbor or whatever that may be, as well as many other things that are accessible, whether it's induction stoves, heat pumps for one's home, et cetera. But the oil and gas industry is deploying all of their political and special interest money towards one central goal, which is to keep virtually every American completely dependent on their product.
And Donald Trump is very closely aligned with them.
And not only that, but the larger point is that it's not a coincidence that his authoritarian tactics are tied to fossil fuels.
This is a global phenomenon.
And what we are seeing is authoritarianism is very, very closely linked with oil and gas interests around the world.
That's Putin, that's Trump. That's folks like Bolsonaro. That's a lot of the political instability we see out of Saudi Arabia, the UAE.
And I believe that it is not a coincidence, because you have one central industry that has a clear vested, both political and financial interest, and an authoritarian…that is also increasingly becoming politically unpopular, by the way, because the vast majority of Americans believe that the U.S. should start winding down our subsidization of the fossil fuel industry. They want to see clean energy alternatives available to them and financially accessible to them. And they understand that it's just more volatile to be so chained to fossil fuels.
And so the only way that you can really empower both financially a political sect, is through the fossil fuel industry, the oil and gas industry.
The Koch brothers are an oil and gas dynasty who had such large influence on our political system. They come from an oil and gas dynasty, or rather, came. One of them has passed, there's that, but then you see that link crossing across the world, and the ascent of authoritarianism, paired with the fact that every single one of them is very closely aligned to the fossil fuel industry.
And the ascent of the fossil fuel industry is not a coincidence. It's not a mistake.
And in fact, the democratization of our energy system, which is a means of production that has been privatized and concentrated into the hands of the very few, the democratization of our energy system means that people have the potential. We're doing this in Puerto Rico. When you have a battery pack on your house, when the power goes out, you're not as dependent on a central system. You have a backup reserve in case of an emergency, you can give energy to your neighbor.
This is what the democratization of our energy system looks like.
This is also what a fairer economic system that is less volatile for everyday people looks like as well.
And that is a direct threat to authoritarianism.
It's a direct threat to the extreme concentration of wealth in the hands of the very few.
But it also represents a shift for the betterment of mankind and our democracy.
—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, noting the link between the fossil fuel industry and authoritarian regimes

Had a tik tok in my Facebook memories that said something about how with anti-maskers it ultimately comes down to them perceiving doing things for others as weakness since they grew up in a hyper-individulistic society. It's them exerting autonomy and refusing to stop under peer pressure, largely just for the sake of fighting something since that's a strength. A value. "I don't let others tell me what to do because I can't be controlled"
Made me think that everyone else bought into the same type of individualistic rhetoric through pop psychology: having "good" boundaries means never needing others and always putting yourself before everyone else regardless of circumstance and especially if they make you feel any feeling you don't want to feel. ...Like guilty for not caring enough to keep wearing a mask in 2023. That's a strength. A value. "I don't let others tell me what to do because I love myself"
The conclusion here being: being needed/needing others is a threat to your autonomy which is a Value to protect.
Tumblr media
And when you really think about it applies to more than masking; supporting BIPOC, watching the news, showing up to protests, etc.
"I'm already depressed, I can't handle it. I'm watching out for my own mental health by not participating"
"it's all woke which makes me feel like a bad person cuz Im a bigot so I only watch what validates my bias"
And personally I get a little suspicious when two sides defined by their opposite social values come to the same social conclusion.
Tumblr media
You should too. This rhetoric is holding us back. Individualism is holding us back. People need people. It's not toxic or abusive or manipulative to admit that, no matter how much society has tried to make you believe otherwise.
Oppressed people needing allies and your friends who need help moving aren't violating your boundaries or "bad for your mental health" just because You don't want to show up AND not feel bad about it.
Can the generation that grew up screaming "I don't know how to teach you that you should care about other people" at boomers please stand up and take a heaping tablespoon of your own medicine.
And then show gen z how to swallow it because growing up in the social climate we millennials curated online hasn't exactly inspired feelings of confidence in others or the future.
Both of which we still care about right? We still care about other people and the future? Not just ourselves?
Just want to confirm that we haven't gone Full Boomer as a collective yet cuz at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if someone responded saying that being expected to care about their friends is akin communist dictatorship
And could this be a Red Scare Psyop meant to discourage you from finding community, collectivism, and mutual aid in a time where your hyper-individulistic behavior and beliefs are being exploited for record breaking profits in the name of capitalism?

looking back, i feel like the first big sign that Tohru had legitimate issues was that she didn't ask her friends for a place to stay. i mean, what were her reasons for not involving them? Uotani lived in a small apartment and Hanajima had five people living in her house - that'd make an additional person living with either of them pretty inconvenient, but like, not impossibly so. both Uotani and Hanajima would've said yes in a heartbeat, not because they're kind souls who offer their meager means to others regardless of consequences, but because it's really not that big a deal to have one more person temporarily living in your home, and i don't think their families would have minded much either.
also like - not asking Uotani at least makes sense bc of her apartment, but Hanajima lives in a freaking house!!! an actual decently sized two-story house!!! even if it'd be cramped, the sensible thing to do would be to at least ask if Hanajima could put her up. but Tohru thought that Uotani and Hanajime would help her even if they themselves were inconvenienced by it (correct) and proactively took the "burden" away from them by not giving them a choice in the matter at all. if either of them learned that Tohru had been living in the woods, they would've dragged her ass back to civilization, and she knew it. that's why she purposefully hid the whole "living in a tent" thing from them (she didn't even tell them she'd been kicked out! they thought she was still living with her relatives the entire time!). Tohru's selflessness was on full display in the first chapter, but in retrospect, so was her self-destructive streak that went far beyond your typical shojo protagonist's levels of self-sacrifice.

Tbh, nothing has made me sympathize more with Kipperlilly Copperkettle than her anger issues.
Cause anger is an emotion we feel when we're missing something. When we need something and can't get it. It's a balm to make us feel better when things don't go our way.
When things aren't fair.
#d20#dimension 20#d20 fantasy high#fantasy high junior year#d20 spoilers#fhjy#fantasy high spoilers#of course just cause you feel like things are unfair doesnt mean they actually are#and the reason why its an anger issue is cause the anger has befome detrimental#its warped from being somethjng to comfort you when you feel powerless to a tool you use against others when you fedl slighted#part of why anger issues are so hard to overcome is cause of how good it feels in the moment#even if you feel terrible guilt afterwards#the catharsis of releasing anger can be such a relief#that you dont even realise youve started looking for reasons to be angry#youre listing things that are terrible with the world just so you can feel better by getting angry at them#things like capitalism and people who bullied you and how your boss is a terrible racist#things that everyone can get angry over#until they get more personal and warps your judgment#“my boss called a group of immigrant a bunch of racial slurs” “his secretary was there too she can back me up”#“when i brought it up with her she says she wasnt payjng attention or something” “shes peobably racist too and thats why he hired her”#it becomes easier to make jumps like that instead of giving people the benefit of the doubt#easier to justify your anger with the smallest slights#until youre yelling at a pedestrian whe. you almost ran them over#“sure it was a red light but they shouldve paid attention and seen me coming too”#anyways this is all to say kipperlilly probably has some issues to deal with#idk if shes actually behind this plot or if shes being manipulated#doesmt stop her from being a total dick tho#but it does make me a little more sympathetic to her

There is something I think a lot of us who have been on here for a decade or more have forgotten. I think I understand why, it's just been such a long time we've absorbed the common wisdom of tumblr. And I desperately, desperately need people to understand this.
The view of the world you see through the lens of tumblr is deeply warped and a great deal of the things you "know" from being on tumblr are factually, objectively wrong. This is hardly unique to tumblr, but it seems like many of us that remain, even people I know to be otherwise intelligent individuals, have forgotten that it does apply to tumblr.
If you did a true accounting of your own common wisdom you would be shocked at how ignorant and incorrect your held beliefs are. In every practical sense Tumblr is a deeply prejudice place (many prejudices here are unique to the kind of online progressive groups that thrive on tumblr) and if you are basing your belief system on tumblr group think you are basically by definition deeply prejudice yourself.
I mean the amount of tumblr people who 100% fully embraced gender essentialism so long as it said "man bad" and the self destructed into an asshole rad fem as soon as they had to consider a trans man should tell you how flawed our culture is.

Socialists, communists and the labour movement are responsible for winning the reforms that built the lifestyle that the Right likes to romanticize. Then they sold out the working class by adopting neoliberalism which has wrought destruction and inequality. Fascism is not the solution.
