So uh
The Power of the Doctor surely was one of the episodes of all time
Where do I even fucking start
Let's cut to the chase, narratively it was all over the place in a "let's throw everything at the wall to see what sticks" kind of way. The thing is, it was fun. It made no sense but it was still enjoyable. Why was the Master cosplaying Rasputin? Why 1916? What was the point of the Dalek traitor? Why the paintings? Who cares, I'm having the time of my life watching all this shit 7,5/10
Why Tegan and Ace, for that matter? Because it's fun to see them again, that's why. I'll take it. Tegan was especially great. Also Ace wasn't a CEO so bonus points for that
Why was Graham even here
Why the train
Why the Qurunx
Why the uh everything about the Daleks and the Cybermen and no-one getting betrayed or in-fighting in the process
Why do I care
Dan's arc started with him having no money and ends with him having no house. That's kinda bleak for a comic relief companion
I don't know how to feel about Tennant being the Doctor again? It's weird and interesting and I can't wait to see what they do with this, and I find it supremely ironic that the Doctor who was the most terrified of death is the one who will get to die THREE TIMES in this series - but at the same time, I really wanted to see Ncuti Gatwa and I feel like he's been robbed of his thunder, kind of? I don't know, it feels weird
Considering Chibnall's focus isn't usually on character arcs I wasn't expecting Thirteen's ending to have any kind of dramatic irony, but having very low expectations for this specific era was a blessing, because one of the things I desesperately wanted to see was this control freak of a Doctor, who never explains anything to her friends, being forced to rely entirely on her friends, and also completely losing control. And that's exactly what I got here. Yes. Very good
The Qurunx assuming the form of a child because it wants to be protected. The parallels with the Timeless Child. Exquisite
And that bit where she's hit by a deadly energy blast and she's carried back to the TARDIS like this?? Complete inversion of the trope of the Doctor carrying a companion and I loved it
Tumblr media
Oh god look at Yaz. Yeah that's right, you can only hold her while she's literally dying! That's the only time she'll be in your arms! And she's DYING!! And then you have to say goodbye!! I'm feeling normal about this
I've already seen quite a few Thasmin fans screaming bloody murder and to be honest I get it but like. I'm also digging how tragic this is
I wasn't asking for a kiss but like. When they were on the TARDIS' roof. I wanted one of them to put her head on the other's shoulder. Was that too much to ask
Pretty fitting that Yaz joins the circle of Recovering Doctor Addicts at the end after that and oh god don't get me started
The empty chair for Sarah Jane?? Don't talk to me
Is Ian even aware that regeneration exists or was he just like "wait so the Doctor is trans? Good for her"
WHAT WAS THE "POWER" OF THE DOCTOR WAS IS TO LEAVE A SHIT TON OF TRAUMATISED PEOPLE IN THEIR WAKE BECAUSE IF THAT'S WHAT THAT MEANT I'M HOWLING
Here's the Doctor's power! You all need therapy now!!
"How many Doctors are there" GOOD QUESTION NOBODY KNOWS
SPEAKING OF WHICH
FIVE SIX SEVEN AND EIGHT ON SCREEN. I FUCKING SCREAMED
BANTER BETWEEN SEVEN AND EIGHT ABOUT CLOTHES?? HELLO??? THE SURREAL LANDSCAPE?? ADRIC'S DEATH BEING MENTIONED IN NEW WHO?? HELLO????
Why is Ace apologizing to Seven when he should be apologizing to HER and why am I even asking. Who cares that was so cool
Eight on screen EIGHT ON S C R E E N how am I supposed to feel NORMAL ABOUT THIS I WANT TO SCREAM I WANT TO CRY
OH SPEAKING OF WANTING TO CRY
Tumblr media
TIME TO GET EMOTIONAL AND CRINGE ON MAIN ABOUT A FUCKING IDIOT WHO SPENT HALF THE EPISODE COSPLAYING RASPUTIN FOR NO REASON AT ALL AND MENTIONING HE USED TO BE A FURRY IN THE EIGHTIES
I turned off Anon asks so if any of you want to send me a new round of hate regarding the fact I love that Master which apparently makes me a fake fan or a Missy hater or something, you'll have to use your actual usernames, cowards. You know who you are
"Johannes shut up about that Master's supposed self-loathing that's not in the text that's just your headcanon to make him more interesting" OH YEAH YEAH CLEARLY I'M MAKING THINGS UP UH CLEARLY THIS IS NOT IN THE TEXT UH
THIS MF'S ENTIRE BULLSHIT PLAN WAS JUST AN EXCUSE TO STOP BEING HIMSELF FOR A MINUTE AND BECOME THE DOCTOR HI HELLO YES I'M FEELING NORMAL ABOUT THIS
"DON'T LET ME GO BACK TO BEING ME"
"DON'T LET ME GO BACK TO BEING ME"
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA FUCK FUCK FUCK
I'm not making sense right now I'm sorry
"IF I CAN'T BE THE DOCTOR NEITHER CAN YOU" I want to scream I want to punch a fucking wall why are you like this why. are you. like THIS
The feelings are indescribable and I can't put them into words right now and I will have to make some art to make them go away, I don't make the rules I don't even have a choice at this point
TLDR this episode was a badly written narrative mess and full of fanwank and Doctor Who is terrible and I love Doctor Who with all my heart and I feel more alive than ever right now

Invader Zim Deathmatch:
ROUND 4, FIGHT 3:
MINIMOOSE VS GAZ MEMBRANE!
Tumblr media
The rules are as follows:
1. We’re assuming that both participants actively want and are willing to kill each other unless actively specified otherwise (for example: Chammy Wamboo).
2. The fight must be one on one so no outside help is allowed, but prep time is allowed.
3. The rule for prep time is that if one contestant gets prep time, the other contestant gets an equal amount of prep time as well.
[Masterpost]
Information about both contestants (who they are, powers and important abilities, etc) can be found under the cut.
Contestant Stats:
Minimoose:
“Been here the whole time”
Appearances:
Minimoose’s only TV appearance is in the episode “The Most Horrible Christmas Ever”, but we would have seen them a lot more if the show wasn’t cancelled, including an episode called “Nubs Of Doom” where we would have seen their creation. They also appear in Enter The Florpus and make consistent appearances in the Comics
Powers and abilities:
Telekinesis
Energy Blasts (Minimoose can fire powerful blasts of dark energy from themselves. We never officially see it so it’s impossible to say for sure, but it’s most likely that Minimoose’s “deadly weapons” we hear about in “Nubs Of Doom” are actually these energy blasts at max strength)
Teleportation (Minimoose is able to manipulate dark energy to teleport things. HOWEVER, we won’t be counting Minimoose teleporting the entire Earth as something they can do, as they needed a very specific setup involving everyone on earth holding hands combined with the Membracelets and a blob creature Zim created. Minimoose’s actual limits with teleportation are most likely just teleporting themselves and whatever is holding/around them)
[for this fight only] Gaz fear immunity (Minimoose has only one fear, and that fear is not of Gaz)
Fun Fact:
Minimoose is canonically confirmed to be non-binary, making them one of two canonically confirmed non-binary Invader Zim characters with Recap Kid being the other one, and one of four non-binary Invader Zim characters if you also consider Invader Tenn and Commander Poki, who are heavily implied to be non-binary but not explicitly confirmed.
Gaz:
“Supreme Gamer”
Appearances:
Gaz appears in many, many episodes and comic issues, so I’m not going to list them
Powers and abilities:
Enhanced strength (like her brother, Gaz shows feats of incredible strength (most likely because she’s a genetically modified clone), including but not limited to being able to throw Dib clean through a wall)
Enhanced agility and stamina (also like her brother, Gaz has enhanced agility and stamina, with the most notable example of this being her climbing up the side of an over 50 story building in the rain without equipment)
Fear (similar to Ms Bitters’ fear ability, Gaz is able to scare most people with threats of extreme violence. Unlike Ms Bitters however, it’s been shown that this ability has limits, with people like Zim showing no fear towards any of her threats. Gaz’s ability to cause fear doesn’t appear to work on anyone that already believes themselves to be on par with or stronger than her and people that are simply too egotistical or arrogant to care, making it a weaker version of Ms Bitters’ fear causing, which works on seemingly everyone)
Intelligence (Gaz is one of the smartest humans in the show, being one of the only people able to see through Zim’s disguise. She also shows skill with engineering and invention, being able to make her own machines (like the robot toys that guard her room) and fix alien technology, not unlike her brother’s skills with tech)
[Mostly Unusable] Gaming (although this seems like it shouldn’t affect anything, Gaz’s gaming skills are an advantage. The reason for this is that a lot of alien technology (mostly vehicles) use controls that are very similar to video game controls, meaning that Gaz can use alien vehicles extremely effectively. Sadly, Gaz doesn’t have any alien technology to use)
Fun Fact:
Despite evidence in the show pointing towards the contrary, Jhonen Vasquez has confirmed that Gaz has no magic or supernatural abilities and that she is simply "someone you don't want to anger". This is why I don’t list any supernatural abilities in her Powers and Abilities section.

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
December 28th - Captain Marvel / Mar-Vell
Following an incident wherein one of their Sentry units was destroyed on earth, The Kree Empire dispatched an agent to the planet to determine whether or not its populace posed a threat to The Kree.  Captain Mar-Vell was selected for the mission.
On Earth, Mar-Vell adopted the identity of a recently deceased scientist named Walter Lawson.  Throughout his mission, Mar-Vell would often don his Kree military uniform to protect the people he was observing. The first time he does this, a bystander mistook his name and he came to be known as ‘Captain Marvel.’
Mar-Vell’s tasks on earth were frequently hampered by his envious Kree colleague, Yon-Rogg, his growing affection for humanity, as well as his fake identity's criminal past. During this time Mar-Vell also became romantically involved with the Naval officer assigned to oversee Lawson, Carol Danvers.
After aiding humanity several times, Mar-Vell would be found guilty of treason against the Kree Empire and sentenced to death. Yet Mar-Vell escaped the Kree home world in a stolen rocket and ended up in league with the rogue Kree accuser, Ronan.  Along with a corrupt minister named Zar-ek, Mar-Vell was manipulated into aiding an attempted assassination of the Kree Supreme Intelligence.  So to better help them, Mar-Vell was given a new costume and enhanced abilities. After the conspiracy was foiled, Mar-Vell tried to return to Earth. On the way, however, he was hit by a blast of radiation that trapped him within the Negative Zone.
The Supreme Intelligence mentally reached out to Mar-Vell and enabled him to telepathically contact Rick Jones, which he uses to lead Jones to a set of ‘nega-bands’ at an abandoned Kree base. When Jones put on these bands and struck them together, it acted to cause him to trade places with Mar-Vell, encasing Jones within a protective aura in the Negative Zone. Jones and Mar-Vell discovered they were able to maintain telepathic contact. Using this method, Mar-Vell was able to remain in the positive universe for a period of up to three hours.
With Rick Jones as his conduit to Earth, Mar-Vell would go on to have further adventures, aiding the Avengers in putting an end to the centuries-long Kree/Skrull War and defeating the Mad Titan, Thanos.  Ultimately, Reed Richards helped device a means of freeing Mar-Vell from the Negative Zone.
Some time later, Mar-Vell discovered that a past adventure where he was exposed to the poisonous Compound 13 gas had resulted in his developing a rare and deadly type of cancer.  Unable to find an effective treatment, Mar-Vell came to terms with his fate and was offered palliative care abroad Mentor’s space station in orbit of Jupiter’s moon, Titan.  In his final hours, Mar-Vell was visited by his many friends and colleagues and even past adversaries.  In the end, the sprit of Thanos came to Marv-Vell and introduced him to the entity of Death who gently ushered the hero to the unknown realm of the afterworld.
A version of Mar-Vell featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, portrayed by actress Annette Bening.  The hero first appeared in the pages of Marvel Super-Heroes #12 (1967).

fake love for an hour or so 👁👄👁
Ah, my failed attempt at a ballet fic! Here you go, love!
🩰 Fake Love (For An Hour Or So)
Louis Tomlinson, the ABC’s wunderkind danseur, is finally back in New York after his three year long stint with Pacific Northwest Ballet, and rumour has it he’s choreographing a dance for this year’s Academy recital. The timing of his return, however, is really quite peculiar - it comes right on the tail of Tomlinson’s ex-boyfriend and former Academy classmate Sacha Gaspard’s engagement to ABC’s director Lucien Powell.
Unbeknownst to all, this is Louis’ last ditch effort to win Sacha back, and though Sacha pretends not to be the least bit interested, Louis knows better - the sight of Louis chasse-ing in his tights has always been enough to stir any pot, especially one he’s dipped his finger in before. But when an entire month in close quarters has passed without any headway, Louis begins to get desperate. Luckily, there’s a sweet little aspiring soloist by the name of Harry Styles that seems all too willing to be Louis’ arm candy. It seems heartbreak is inevitable now - but for who?
And, just for fun, a little snippet too!
God, a cigarette. What he would give to have a cigarette right no–
“Ow!” Louis yelled – more from surprise than pain – as his body collided harshly with the absolute dufus that decided smack-dab in the middle of the quad would be a good place to just stop.
Louis snapped his head upward, an irritated reprimand ready on the tip of his tongue, when the dufus in question wobbled precariously close to the edge of the large fountain, his arms flapping outward awkwardly, desperately trying to regain his balance. Reflexively, Louis reached out and snatched him by the elbow, pulling him back a couple of steps lest he tumble head first into the dirty water.
“Steady there, Bambi,” Louis quipped, smirking as he watched him fumble still, though his feet were flat on the concrete.
“Sorry about that,” the apology came out muffled, what with the dark curtain of curls shielding Bambi’s face, his head still turned down in embarrassment. “I’d say it doesn’t happen often but that would be a lie.” Louis could hear the sheepish smile in his voice, before he offered up a shy shrug.
Then, as if in slow motion, the stranger finally peeked up at Louis, his eyes going comically rounder with every inch he lifted his head – an exact replica of the way his mouth had fallen open.
Louis barely had time to raise an eyebrow in question when Bambi let out a squeak.
“O-oh my God,” he stuttered, and Louis was a little alarmed by how red his cheeks were right now. Was this boy alright? “You’re – you’re Louis Tomlinson,” he breathed, and the blatant awe in his voice made Louis want to laugh.
Ah, he thought with a nod. A dancer. (Only a dancer would ever say his name like that – like he might be as famous as George Clooney or those kids from that One Direction band his sisters were always screaming about.)
“So, you’re a dancer,” Louis repeated aloud, smirking as he crossed his arms over his chest.
And though he still looked dreadfully embarrassed, Bambi managed a slow grin, his green eyes twinkling.
“What gave me away?” he asked, ambling back a few steps to where he had left his bags, his long, gangly legs like jelly, knees buckling at odd angles like he had only just learned to walk. “My stellar coordination?”
Louis chuckled amusedly at that.
“Everything but,” he deadpanned.
Bambi didn’t seem the least bit offended, sticking his tongue out at Louis playfully.
Charm, a winning smile, and a deadly pair of dimples. Honestly, if Louis was still in Seattle (or anywhere but here really) he’d be so, supremely fucked. Thankfully, that was not the case, though Louis made sure his mind didn’t wander too far in that direction either – there would be enough time to obsess over the incumbent mischief he was about to wreak later.
He shook his head to clear it just as Dimples shouldered his duffle bag.
“‘S my first day and I’m super nervous,” he admitted, cheeks pinkening slightly again. He bit his lip, and it really shouldn’t have struck Louis as adorable, but it did.
“You’ll be fine,” Louis scoffed easily, striding towards him.
He nodded, and blew out a nervous breath. “Any advice?” he asked.
Louis tipped his head to the side, making a show of trying to think. After a long moment, he nodded once, like he had finally settled on something sage and important. He sidled up close then, thoroughly enjoying the obvious hitch in Dimples’ breath as Louis raised himself on his tiptoes.
“Try to stay on your feet,” he whispered tauntingly, tapping Dimples’ chest twice. Louis lowered himself on flat feet, throwing a soft chuckle over his shoulder as he walked away swiftly, immeasurably pleased at the bright, burning blush that had settled on Bambi’s cheeks once again.

Sooo I don’t know much of anything about the Marvel comics, but I do know that originally Thanos was doing his whole Thing because he had a crush on Death and wanted to impress her.
Now we don’t get such a detailed look into MCU Thanos’ love-life, but maybe we can keep the notion that he has a Type.
Now, opening portals and barging into parallel universes is something that can be done in the MCU, and Thanos is more than happy to rope as many universes into his campaign of destruction as he can. He’ll open a portal, beat the locals into submission and set up a way to ensure that when the Snap finally happens, half of the new universe will also die out, along with his original one.
Now then - the latest universe he pushed his way into seems fairly plain at first glance. He prepares for a swift and uneventful invasion... And then he sees Him.
The first sign of real resistance arrives in the form of a tall man in black, hooded robes, wielding a vaguely scythe-like weapon. Dark power in rolling off him in waves and in the ensuing skirmish he proves to be a deadly, hypercompetent warrior.
Thanos is now nursing the most massive crush in the Multiverse.
(He’s even willing to put up with his new hopeful-sweetheart’s little human detective, he read it somewhere that pets are good for your mental health!
Shen Wei of course supremely annoyed, but if the price of keeping his universe safe without a massive fight is to occasionally listen to an overgrown grape serenading off-key under his window, well, he’ll put up with it for now.)

it's true though they did make miles and julian spend all their scenes together by then and it's like okay how do i read this other than as intensely homoerotic help me out here guys miles just decided to go on a deadly mission just because julian was going what the heck
and not just a DEADLY MISSION, a deadly mission where their brains are literally connected???? keiko actively regrets enabling these two to hang out together, not because he's an actual threat to her marriage (o'brien is way too But My Wife to ever leave), but because the collateral impact of all the homoerotic tension miles cannot seem to consciously recognize is going to get him killed one of these days in a supremely comical way.

2022 Year End Horror media list
Okay, these are just my favourites, not objective best or anything:
Film:
Scream (2022) - managed to stay my favourite all year, Radio Silence nailed it and did the best they could sans Wes
Nope - it teeters on being my favourite Peele movie
Adult Swim’s Yule Log - came out of nowhere and blew me away, the little fella in the fireplace is absolutely Twin Peaks/Lynch as hell
The Black Phone - Ethan Hawke is terrifying in this
Prey - probably the best after the original, pushing Predators to third place
Pearl - incredible film, the monologue alone is unreal
Glorious - JK Simmons is a bemused lovecraftian horror, another shockingly good indie film
The Menu - up there with Mia Goth in Pearl, Ralph Fiennes sells this movie on his performance alone
Barbarian - really funny moments that don’t spoil the tense/scary ones, Justin Long was a pleasent surprise, a lot of interesting themes
Honourable mentions
VHS 99  - not quite as good as ‘94 but the last segment is top stuff
Men - really neat folk horror that was a top contender for me at first, but I still enjoy
Film not from 2022 that I watched in 2022
Audition - supremely uncomfortable and surreal film from Takashi Miike, the pespective/genre flip was handled superbly
Hausu - makes a strangely good pairing with Audition, this one’s more about the generation gap in Japan from those who suffered through war and those in more carefree times, even more surreal and dream-like in its presentation
Friday the 13th Part VI - my favourite in the series, a fun re-watch and an awesome prototypical meta-slasher
TV
From - a mystery box thriller in the vein of Lost about a town no-one can leave with creatures that stalk and kill at night
Yellowjackets - another mystery box horror series, this one about a high-school soccer team trapped in a forest after a deadly plane crash, with a possibly otherworldly threat looming, we also follow some of the survivors in their adult lives with its own separate thread
Cabinet of Curiosities - one of the best anthology series since Channel Zero, feels a fair bit more ‘Tales from the Crypt’ in its approach
The Midnight Club - another Mike Flanagan hit adapting the Christopher Pike novel of the same name
Books / comics
Something is Killing the Children - didn’t finish it as of yet, but working on it
Games
The Quarry - fantastic, Supergiant’s best since Until Dawn - was awesome playing this with family in co-op too
Evil Dead: The Game - another assymetric horror game in the vein of Friday the 13th the Game, pretty good stuff with an Evil Dead coat of paint

Some of my old tweets
Here are some things that I have written on twitter. With the way things are going now over there I thought I`d copy some of that stuff and post it here too... just in case.
Here they are, from newest to oldest
Sometimes I wish I had Ghost Rider`s penance stare.
Do you know which superhero team I would like to see in the MCU? Alpha Flight.
A book I recommend: In order to live by Yeonmi Park.
If the Sandman had been made in the late 90s They would probably have casted Keanu Reeves as Morpheus. And Natalie Portman as Death.
“Every world spins in pain. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself it is up to all of us to become his moral superior.” ―Lord Havelock Vetinari
Here`s your bad pun of the day. "How much does the roof cost?" "It`s on the house."
“A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.” ―Douglas Adams
"When the winds of change blow, some people build walls and others build windmills." ―Chinese Proverb
"Human beings who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so." ―Douglas Adams
I once ate spaghetti bolognese while watching a spaghetti western. True story.
I recommend watching Ascendance of a Bookworm. A few episodes made me tear up  a little.
Tell Texas: leave trans kids and their families alone!
It would be nice if Swamp Thing (from DC Comics) existed in our universe.
Sometimes I fantasize about the things I would do if I had an infinity gauntlet.
Why are they called "pineapples"? They don`t grow on pines and they`re not apples.
In a way, ninjas are like farts, silent but deadly.
This is my first tweet. Hi.

Something I'm working on; the characters are from one of the many projects I'm creating.  This one comic contains the 7 Deadly Sins as side characters (kinda) created from the Supreme Lord of Darkness, and this guy is the personification of Pride, and yea he's a demon. It's a lot of layers I'm working on and I'm still trying to figure out how to color in a way that fits the art style. I gotta make line art from the others as well, seen below.
Tumblr media
I also have to draw Gluttony and Wrath ('._'.) Shoutout to my sister for taking the pic so I could trace over it cuz the scanner I bought is a loathsome, worthless piece of junk.

Immortal men of genius trod in life
The nearness of every one of these historic scenes, the infinitely petty stage which these immortal men of genius trod in life, the brief moment of human history into which they were crowded, takes away the breath. Here in a town of very moderate size and population, within the span of one human life, there lived and worked Miltiades, Themistocles, Pericles, Alcibiades, yeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes, Pheidias, Thucydides, Socrates, Plato, some of the most brilliant generals, statesmen, politicians known to universal history, the greatest tragic genius, the greatest comic genius, the supreme art genius recorded in the annals of mankind, the great master of philosophic history, two out of the three great chiefs of ancient philosophy.
All of these were born and bred within walking distance of this unique spot, and all of them within little more than a hundred years. There is nothing like this in the whole history of mankind. Even in Florence, Giotto, Dante, Leonardo, Michael Angelo, and Galileo, were separated by nearly four centuries; and in Judaea, from Samuel to Ezekiel, we may possibly count some six centuries walking toursphesus . It is this sudden blazing up of supreme genius on this mere speck of rock for one short period — and then utter silence—which makes the undying charm of this magic spot of earth.
As we stand on Pentelicus
What a light this throws on ancient history ! As we stand on Pentelicus, with the Acropolis, Marathon, Sala- mis, Piraeus, and Eleusis at our feet, we behold bays, plains, and hills, the dwellers wherein were ever strangers and enemies of Athens. No Megarian, no Argive, no Corinthian, no Boeotian, ever could become a citizen or share in the political and religious privileges of Athene.
Homer, Sappho, Pindar, Theocritus, Pythagoras, Aristotle, Archimedes, and Hipparchus were mere foreigners at Athens, aliens and sojourners amongst the lawful citizens.
– Let him cross that narrow streak of blue sea, and the Corinthian at Athens, or the Athenian at Corinth, was what the Parisian is at Berlin, or the Prussian in Paris. What would. England be, if a Kent man were an alien in Essex, if, from the hill at Sydenham, the Londoner looked on a people with whom he could neither trade, nor worship, nor intermarry, nor hold civil or military relations? What, if from the dome of St. Paul’s the Londoner looked down on the city wherein were born and passed their whole lives Alfred, Edward, Cromwell, Shakespeare, Mil- ton, Bacon, Newton, and Scott, Byron, Shelley, and Wordsworth; if from Primrose Hill, he could look down on the fields of Azincourt and Blenheim, of Trafalgar and Waterloo. Now at Athens, the Athenian looked day by day on the home of his national heroes, on the scenes of his national glory, and the works of his greatest artists, and also on the frowning strongholds of his deadly enemies.

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
June 28th - Magik
Illyana Rasputin is a Mutant sorceress who rules the demonic extra-dimensional realm known as Limbo. Magik (as she's known in the superhero community) became the lord of Limbo by way of a tragic experience.  The younger sister of the X-Man known as Colossus, Illyana possessed Mutant powers of her own.  Specifically she is able to teleport anywhere by way of creating portal through Limbo.  This ability to access limbo brought her the attention of the demon-like entity known as Belasco.  Hoping to use her to so to gain unencumbered entry to the human world, Belasco abducted young Illyana.
And yet Belasco had underestimated Illyana natural talents for sorcery.  She spent years as a prisoner of Belasco and in that time she honed her craft and was soon powerful enough to overthrow the demon lord and become the new ruler of Limbo.
Time flows differently in Limbo; what was years for Illyana in Limbo was merely a few hours on Earth and, when she finally returned to her brother and the X-Men, she had seemingly aged many years.  She had left a sweet and naive child and returned a battle-hardened older teenager.
Following her return, Magik joined the New Mutants, a group of teenage Mutants training to become the next generation of X-Men.   She would go on to have numerous adventures alongside The New Mutants and made close friends with her teammates (especially Kitty Pryde).  Her frequently mischievous and carefree attitude always masked a deeply traumatized and lonely soul.
Later, Illyana was magically reverted to her child-aged self yet sadly contracted the deadly Legacy Virus and succumbed to the illness.  Seeking to regain his conduit to the human world, Belasco resurrected Illyana, reviving her body whilst keeping her soul hidden away.  Bales hoped that this would enable him to control Illyana; yet once again he underestimated her.  Aided by her X-Men colleagues, Magik led an invasion of Limbo, once more deposed Belasco and re-obtained her soul.
Magik’s teleportation abilities, coupled with her ever expanding magical skills has made her one of the more powerful members of The X-Men.  Along with acting as a member of the X-Men, Magik has also spent time honing her craft as a sorceress under the tutelage of Dr. Strange.  Herein she was identified as a potential candidate to become the next Sorcerer Supreme.
More recently, Magik has found a passion for teaching, having been appointed one of the Great Captains of the Mutant nation of Krakoa, where she's in charge of training and leading mutants to battle. In addition to that, she also teaches magic at Strange Academy.
A version of Magik featured in the Fox Films movie, The New Mutants where her character was portrayed by actress Anya Taylor-Joy. The heroine first appeared the pages of Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975).
