Yknow what fuck y’all, various ballista x hazard headcanons. This is keeping my gijinkas in mind btw:

For a reminder, Ballista kinda runs on cartoon logic. Best way I can describe him is just murderous Pinky Pie or Bugs Bunny. Finds cartoon violence funny and that extends to regular violence

Hazard is mostly just a regular dude. He’s just extremely clumsy and has the worst luck imaginable in minor situations. He also works as a safety inspector

These two fucking hated each other at first. I’m assuming the mercenaries operate more like bounty hunter, and that is a competitive business. They just would get eachothers contracts and get pissy about it each time. That, and Hazard just saw Ballista as unprofessional and not taking the job seriously, and Ballista saw Hazard as a massive stick in the mud who was just in it for the money (he is)

Anyway when Victim notified Agent about Chosen One, Agent realized who Chosen was and reached out to the other mercenaries— they’re mostly just acquaintances who occasionally run into each other, so they could split the money and have a better chance of taking him down

Hazard and Ballista were not happy about this. But Hazard wanted the money and Ballista wanted to take down a stick figure that powerful (and the money)

Victim has a weird dress code. He doesn’t like them wearing their field outfits in the building he likes it semi-formal. Mostly cause he’s a control freak

This includes Haz’s gas mask. Ballista threw out all hatred because he has a type and it is clumsy people and ESPECIALLY people with scars. Goes from Haz’s hater to flirting with him because he is the bluntest person ever and if he likes you he’ll let it show in the most obnoxious way ever

Hazard hates it. He hates it so much. He thinks Bal’s mocking him.

Eventually the two are forced to do more field work and training together and get to know each other a little more and Hazard realizes Ballista takes his job seriously he’s just also fucking insane which is cool. Anyway that’s all for now I gotta get back to work

Also other Hazard x Ballista headcanon:

Hazard is super picky about his face. Mostly because he prefers to keep his personal life and mercenary job completely separate. He doesn’t want to rely on mercenary work especially since he has another job, so he prefers to keep his face covered and use a false name.

This is why he uses the gas mask in field work. Unfortunately, Victim has a dress code in the building and is infuriatingly stubborn about it (and Agent already warned him not to argue) which means he wants everyone to be wearing semi-formal or at the very LEAST work casual. No masks. Which is why he wears the face mask even if he’s EXTREMELY bitter about it.

Which is why when they kiss in the spar Hazard hates it so much. That and he knows Ballista is pretty gross and he’s a slight germaphobe. But mostly the mask thing
