Well this was originally for the Weekly Prompt on LU discord, but I broke the rules so I couldn't submit OTL T-T

Still, this took me hours going through Jojo's comics, looking for the best images, and I had so So SO much fun with this. I hope someone enjoys lol ^~^

*EDIT* (Just want to note that character art is originally from Jojo's comic @linkeduniverse, and ya should check it out if ya haven't already. All I did was search for images, collage em together, and retrace/alter a couple things because some of these kiddos were blurry blurry blurry from being blown up or they needed a slight facial expression change *cough*MalonandTimeI'mlookingatyou*cough*. Felt the need to add this note just in case some friends don't know what LU is because I never thought this'd reach more than like five maybe six people. 😅)

anyways HOLLYYYY this is real. this is it. this is why these two hate math rock. One does things proper and one can't do anything at all (what i mean is Legend can't even keep up with regular signatures let alone the jumpy-out-of-the-pocket signatures in math rock. And they even change signature in the middle of the song??????? on the other hand, Wind probably prefers working with proper signatures)

Welcome to Ask the Heroes of Hyrule!

A few boring but important things to pay attention to:

- Don’t worry if the askbox isn’t open! It could be because there are a lot of asks, the Queue is backed up, or I’m away and can’t answer them. Only one person (yours truly) is running this blog, so answering everything can take a long time.

- Asks is queued, so your ask will take a long while to appear (like really long sometimes)

- I will get to everyone's post at some point unless one of the rules is broken. 

- I sound like an jerk saying this, but I’m not obligated to respond to your question. It may be because you were spamming the inbox, asked an inappropriate question, was a question already asked at some point, or I was uncomfortable / didn’t know how to respond to it in a non “yes”, “no”, or “thank you” way.

- I’ll try to get the LU characters as close to their canon personalities as possible, but they will still be somewhat OOC and take after how the fandom interprets the character.

Welcome! This is an accessible novelization of the Linked Universe comic (@linkeduniverse) so that Jojo’s incredible creation can be shared with more people. Yes I think Link would be happy to have a kinder Time by his side, Link grew up with positive thinking and admiration for Time so actually a hero of time who treats him badly it's definitely sad for him. However, I want to say that my Time doesn't hate Link in particular, he has that behavior with everyone 😅

I've made some crossover pieces with linked universe characters but never in collaboration so I can tell you that if you want I could try asking ☺️.

wait when did Link have fae ancestry? isn't he hylian or am i tripping

Based on what I know: Link always starts out the games as a Hylian. Sometimes he gets turned into other things halfway through the game but the dude's pretty much always Hylian. Or at least, human, in the games where the nationality of Hylian doesn't exist. And obviously I know enough about the games I haven't played to know not to take everything or even most things in fanfics as canon (tloz is a sandbox after all) but I saw enough "the Link from the first two legend of zelda games has at least some fae blood in him" that I figured it was based on a little one liner tucked away in one of the game manuals or something that nintendo didn't really give much though to but the idea seemed fun enough that modern fans figured it was a cool idea since those game manuals are usually the only story older games, you know. have.

But since the revelation that the sages in Ocarina of Time are totally fucking alive guys, I've since been rethinking these bits of popular fanon that people generally take as fact when talking about these games to the point where if you haven't played the game in question it's indistinguishable from actual canon (note: haven't played all the way through, apparently, I will admit that there's some dialogue in oot that does imply that the sages aren't coming back from the sacred realm, but that dialogue is also between mido and link, not exactly two bastions of accurate information, and more importantly we see the sages being totally fine at the end, so while I can see how the average person would think the sages are dead if they didn't finish oot or skipped the credits or whatever, I feel like if you're making a whole theory video about the sages being totally dead you guys isn't that sad, then you should like. check). And I know that the "link from the first two games has fae ancestry" thing isn't exclusive to but is definitely more common in Linked Universe fics so now the question is "was this actually from the manuals or even some dialogue in Zelda II or is this something jojo56830 added for flavor that the fandom latched onto"

#it's fine if it's the second it's a really neat headcanon #and I've seen some really cool things done with it #I'm just shocked at the possibility of it not being at least semi-canon cause #it sounds EXACTLY like the kind of thing that would be offhandedly mentioned in a game manual or a manga tie in #like how sheik working for ganondorf isn't in the actual oot game #its exclusive to the manga

Fallen Once Again - Chapter 1

This fic is an idea I have had in the works for a little while. It initially started out as a 7 Deadly Sins AU and it just went from there. It still is in many ways related to the concept of the 7 Deadly Sins, however I decided to take some personal liberties and play with the idea until I ended up with a story I wanted to tell.

Thus, I present to you: Fallen Once Again.

Chapter 1: The Chamber of the Fallen

A group of nine men and boys, all armed to the teeth, hiked through the rainy Faron forest. Earlier in the day they had shifted worlds, going from the quiet but deadly woods of Legend’s home to the Spring of Courage within Wild’s world. It was admittedly a strange place to end up in, but no one said much about it. Instead, they put their effort into heading in the direction of the Highland Stable, though their progress had been slowed significantly due to the flocks of monsters and the muddy path.

Hyrule had been travelling at the back of the group since they had arrived. As Wild’s time was one of his favorites to be in, he often would linger so he could observe everything around him. Today was no exception. Even as rain continued to pour from the clouds above, he kept his pace slow and carefully watched the lands around him.

To his right there was a frog that appeared suddenly from the foliage only to disappear once again beneath the underbrush. On the edges of the path there were plants of all shapes, sizes, and colors. The path itself had been reduced to a muddy sludge and was dotted with fallen leaves. The air was warm and humid and the rain coming down was cool. It was almost relaxing to walk through the forest, now that they had gotten to an area that had fewer monsters.

“Are we almost there?” Wind piped up from somewhere in front of him.

The group paused and there was a brief moment of silence. Then, somewhere in front of him came Wild’s soft reply that Hyrule couldn’t exactly make out.

“Should we find an area with some cover then?” Twilight asked.

“I think it may be best if we travel a bit further first before we start to look for cover,” Time replied.

If anything else was said, Hyrule didn’t know about it as he was soon distracted by a tingling feeling. An instinct telling him to pay all the more attention. It seemed there was something important up ahead, though as per usual he couldn’t tell what it was or why it was important.

As they walked further and further down the path, the feeling only grew all the stronger until he found himself stopping in his tracks and turning to look to the left. There. Somewhere on the cliffside, beneath the vines and moss, that is where it was coming from. Without even thinking about it, he began to walk towards the wall of rock as if he was bewitched.

He got a foot away from the cliffside, when he heard someone jogging up behind him. He slowly turned, to see Legend who looked less than pleased with the group stopped several feet behind him.

“Hyrule! What the hell are you doing?” Legend asked. There was confusion and frustration written all over his face.

Hyrule stood a moment and tried to find the words. “I…- There is something important here. Don’t ask me what, I just… I know it’s here.”

Legend furrowed his brows. “Good important or bad important?”

Hyrule bit his lip. “I don’t know… just.. please.”

After a moment Legend sighed. He looked back to the group. “‘Rule says there is something important on this cliffside.”

It was now Wild’s turn to furrow his brows as he strode towards Hyrule and the cliffside, the others close behind him. When he got close to it he pulled out a knife and cut away some of the vines obstructing the cliffside. It did not take him long to uncover enough that there was an opening on the side of the cliff.

“An opening? I’ve been all over and yet I’ve never seen it before,” Wild mumbled, thinking aloud. “Or even think to look behind the vines for that matter.”

Hyrule nodded in acknowledgement, but said nothing. He was currently too entranced by the entryway that silently beckoned for him to enter. Before Legend could stop him, he had already crossed through the entryway and started to make his way into the dark cliffside. Wild was not far behind with a torch that he lit once under the cover the passage offered. Then the others after him filtered in one by one. Silently, they walked to the end of the short passage to find a set of doors flanked by two braziers.

Wind made his way through the group so he could stand at the front with Hyrule and Wild. “Wow! It looks awesome! I wonder what’s inside!”

Legend was unenthused. “What do you mean ‘it looks awesome’? It looks like a dungeon entry way.”

“Which is exactly why we should go in!” Wind replied. “C’mon, Hyrule said it was important and maybe it could be fun! Let’s go in!”

Hyrule looked behind him to see Time exchanging glances with Twilight, who both didn’t seem incredibly thrilled by the idea of walking in blind.

“If nothing else, we may be able to wait out the rain and dry off a little bit,” Sky added.

Eventually Time sighed. “Four, Wind. I need you both to wait near the mouth of the passage and keep lookout for us so that nothing can sneak up on us. The rest of you will come inside with weapons at the ready.”

“Aww, c’mon Time I want to go in!” Wind protested.

“Not this time. It’s your turn for keeping watch.”

Wind seemed to deflate a little bit at the prospect of not being able to explore with the others, but nonetheless was quick to head to his post. In the meantime, the group waited a moment for everyone to prepare themselves.

With everything finally in place, Hyrule took a breath and pushed open the doors.

What awaited everyone inside was not a dungeon, but instead a chamber of sorts. In the center was a carved-stone replica of the master sword sitting within its pedestal, surrounded by intricate mosaics depicting the Hero of Courage’s many incarnations inlaid into the floor. Inscriptions covered the walls that were in a language of old but left space for a simple mirror on the back wall. Other than being covered in a thin layer of dust, everything was still in perfect condition.

The group was slow to move into the room, surveying its large interior. When it seemed that nothing was going to jump out and attack them, they relaxed a little bit and went to explore the room.

Hyrule was immediately entranced by the mirror that sat on the back wall. He moved towards it, time seeming to slow as he grew nearer to it. Somewhere behind him he thought he heard someone say something about some of the inscriptions, however he wasn’t paying enough attention to give it a second thought.

Visually, the mirror was nothing of note. A simple sheet of silver covered in glass with a plain gold border. It was a bit larger than the average mirror, but other than that there was nothing odd about its appearance. However, when Hyrule gazed into it he couldn’t help but stumble backwards and right into Warriors.

“You okay there, Hyrule?”

Hyrule shook his head. “The mirror… it- it did something weird.”

Warriors raised an eyebrow but went to check it out. “I’m confused. Is there something I’m not seeing? Because it looks like a plain old mirror.”

“I…- What?”

Hyrule looked back at the mirror. Sickly green eyes stared back at him. After silently staring at the mirror he looked back at Warriors whose brow was creased with worry. He hated getting looks like that.

“You know what... you’re right. It wasn’t anything important, just the way I was looking at it caused the reflection to look off.” He gave a half-hearted smile, shaking his head as if his prior reaction to what he saw was silly. Silly and trivial and nothing of importance.
