I got captured and thrown in the dungeon, but before I was executed, Count Rugen from Princess Bride came in and cut and styled my hair. (Apparently he was an excellent hair stylist.)

More of my favorite funny quotes from The Princess Bride book (pt. 2)
"The pain is worse than I imagined!" Yeste cried. "How can it hurt when the point of the weapon is still an inch away from your belly?" Domingo asked.
"Get him out of my way. Move the infant." "The infant is ten and he stays," Inigo said.
"I wish I could remember what it was like when I was dead," the man in black said. "I'd write it all down. I could make a fortune from a book like that..."
"No good," the man in black replied. "I've know too many Spaniards." "I'm going crazy up here," said Inigo.
"Anytime you want to change places, I'd be too happy to accept."
"...milkmen where still in charge of bones, the logic being that since milk was so good for bones, who would know more about broken bones than a milkman?"
"Good got attracted to good, evil you flushed down the john and that was that."
Westley to Vizzini: "If she stops breathing in the very near future, it is entirely possible that you will catch the same illness?"
"I let him die laughing," said the man in black.
"There's death coming up, and you better understand this: some of the wrong people die. Be ready for it. This isn't Curious George Uses the Potty."
He was never very popular, what with his hunting fetish..."
"We do not see that much of each other." "Tender couple."
"Widows happen. Every day- don't they, Your Highness?"
"...What did you think a resurrection pill looked like?" "Not like a lump of clay the size of a golf ball," Inigo answered."
"I'm not stupid, you know." "Quit bragging."
"...excuse me, I've got to go belch my witch..."
"Chocolate was one of his favorites, right after cough drops."
...Max exploded right back, "and don't you mock my methods-tickling can be terrific in the proper instances..."

if there has to be a princess bride remake can they at least make Humperdink and Count Rugen gay? listen, I know it would fit a homophobic trope but also you cannot convince me that they aren't fucking

i am so glad the princess bride came out in 1987 and not 2024, because you just know the rugen/humperdinck girlies would be absolutely unbearable

Little details in The Princess Bride book that stood out to me that weren't in the movie
Westley, Vizzini, Inigo, and Fezzik were in the crowd when Buttercup was introduced as the princess to the public
When Vizzini hit Buttercup, Fezzik told Vizzini to hit him instead
When Buttercup and Westley met Humperdinck outside the Fire Swap, Buttercup told Westley she would rather live without love than die with him
When the Count tortured Westley for months before using the Machine on him, Westley would disassociate and think about Buttercup to escape the pain
Buttercup during these months had multiple different nightmares every night in addition to hag booing her like in the movie. One of them was her baby refusing her milk and dying because she had no love.
When Westley was brought back to life, he asked Fezzik and Inigo to kill him because Buttercup was going to marry Humperdinck, his murderer
Inigo cut the Count's chest to cut out his heart like he did to Inigo when his father was killed
Westley's parents were tortured in front of him as a child
