i have questioned my decition to spin it from 3 ~90 g batts since i will end up with more than enough yarn for a single pair of socks and i could have been done allready if i worked with less fibre

but on the other hand the point was to use up some of the leftover batts from last year, i have 4 left of those after this i think

Blue Braids

Summary:  The reader loves to play with her boyfriend's hair. Little drabble scenario for this.

“Ow! Y/nnie, love…jagiya, please, don't pull!” Hongjoong whined, his head being tugged back every time y/n ran her fingers through his hair to gather new strands. The stylists had told her to braid some blue yarn into it along with blue extensions, which she was doing just now.

“I'm not pulling, Joong…I'm combing your hair. It's not taking much longer anymore, I promise,” she hummed, pecking his cheek gently with a smile. Y/n loved his longer hair, it allowed her to also just sit behind him at home on the sofa to braid it or make cute little hairstyles. Today though, his hair was all messed up, he had slept in his studio again and somehow managed to get it all tangled and knotted.

One could hear the others chuckle from their spots, but as soon as y/n shot them a smile, they stopped. They'd be next, so none of them had any right to laugh about their captain. 

“Ah! Why do you hate me so much jagi?” Another whine of him let her chuckle, but she actually just finished the last braid, putting a little, colorful bead into the hairband which secured it into his hair. “I don't hate you, Joong, I love you. Above anything else, you are my treasure.” She hums and then turns his chair, smiling happily when their eyes meet. Before he could do anything though, their lips met for a brief moment, causing him to get flustered. “Yah! Don't do that…they won't take me seriously now.” With a soft chuckle, he then gets up, kissing y/n’s cheek gently and then heads over to where the staff needed him for the first photoshoot.

“Now boys, who's next?” Y/n couldn't hide a grin, the others pushing Seonghwa to the seat first now. It doesn't take much time and the other seven members are done with their hair, since theirs is not as long as Hongjoong's mullet. Y/n watches the shoot, not only for the photos, but they also started on some scenes for the MV now.

The next few days, she couldn't always make it to accompany them, since she was busy with her last exam for her master's degree. One evening she was sleeping on the sofa when the boys came home, causing them to smile. Y/n had cooked dinner for them too before she cuddled up in the living room to watch some of their MV's.

However, when Hongjoong tried to cover her with a blanket, y/n woke up, looking at her boyfriend with a pout as she noticed his new hairstyle.

“Joongie…your mullet-” she mumbled, one hand reaching up to run through his hair, a few tears starting to appear. He quickly leaned down to kiss her, hoping to calm her, but when he leaned back again after the kiss, y/n had a little smile on her face. “Your new hairstyle suits you…even though I now can't braid it anymore.”

It was clear that the others had followed this exchange with their breaths held, because they released it almost simultaneously, already fearing her to burst into emotions. When she noticed them, y/n chuckled and gave a nod towards the kitchen area. “I made food, it's in the kitchen. Bring some for Joong too, he can't move because he has to calm his girlfriend now!”

A/N: I really liked writing those, thank youuu. You can find those posts here and here if someone’s interested. This seemed like a quick and fun one to write, so I can do it even though I’m pretty busy. I think this would be between the two other posts timeline wise but Idk if it really matters. I think this is a really cute idea btw I hope I did it justice :D

~Knockout & Breakdown~

•Neither Knockout nor Breakdown has ever heard of father’s day, because it’s definitely not a thing on cybertron, and they’re not familiar enough with earth culture to know something like that

•Cybertronians don’t reproduce in a way that would make someone a father or a mother or a parent in general, so they don’t even really have the need for terms such as “dad” or father”

•So when you mentioned you wanted to do something with them for father’s day, they’re like “What’s that?”

•You explain the premise of it and Knockout and Breakdown look at each other for a while, before Knockout starts tearing up with happiness

•Breakdown just nods very seriously, but he’s also smiling

•They don’t want to let you down, this is the first time you’re really calling them your parents, even though the whole unsaid family thing has been going on for a while now

•So you start planning your surprise for them, now that they’re on board

•You were kinda scared they wouldn’t be interested, or would think it was weird, but you were so happy to see they were into the whole idea

•You’re having some trouble deciding what to do, because you do want to get out of the Nemesis with them, but what could you do together?

•You end up kind of improvising on the actual father’s day, because you had a few options you wanted to do

•You settled for something pretty basic, you took them to a diner (in their holoforms ofc) you all liked and gave them the gifts you’d made them

•You had made them these braided bracelets, that were a mix of red, blue and (your favorite color) yarn and were braided with some nice patterns

•You confessed you’d made like ten versions, because you had to learn how to make them, and these were the best ones

•Then you revealed a third bracelet under your sleeve and told them “We match now” with a smile

•Knockout almost started crying happy tears again, but he settled for sniffling and holding you and Breakdown’s hand

•You were sitting in your little booth, holding each other’s hands and you couldn’t have been happier

•You’re sometimes kind of bad at telling people you love them, but you really wanted to make sure they knew you appreciate and love them

•You’re holding their hands and look at each of them while saying “Dad” to Breakdown, and “Papa” to Knockout and “I love you guys” to both

•Now Knockout is just straight up crying and almost knocks over a drink glass while moving to your side of the table and hugging you

•Breakdown isn’t far from tears himself, but he manages to keep himself composed

•They both tell you they love you too, and thank you for the gifts

•You just sit and talk for a while after, and eat the rest of your food of course, all together, it was a fantastic afternoon

random little ways that I've started worshipping more bc why not:

braided yarn around my wrist for Eir, pronoun bracelets for Dionysus, and chewelry necklace for Loki, and (eventually) a gold anklet for Aphrodite (currently the earrings I wear every day until I get it)

having a glass of wine and giving some to all of my deities in their respective cups

changing the color of my lamp light depending on who's hanging out (between purple red pink and green for me for now)

setting aside little trinkets I think any of them would like + putting them on their respective altars

putting on music they seem to like (at least one of them likes every single one of the songs on my playlist)

just hanging out with them when I can + they want to

letting the spirits hang around sometimes (Eir + Loki both seem to like my little buddy that has been with me for 9-10 years atp)

being cunty just bc I can (Dionysus, Loki, and Aphrodite seem to like that)

really dramatically and film-worthily acting out my daydreams (Dionysus gets SO hyped)

scrolling through the body positivity tag whenever I start to get self-conscious (they all seem proud when I do that, but Loki makes it known more (I think Aphrodite will be down too but I haven't gotten like that yet with her as part of the group))

just dressing up pretty!! it feels like I'm channeling Aphrodite :))

she rides on his shoulders and its SO scary like she is so high up there she is definitely hitting her head on the ceiling

calls her little one. princess. darling.

Ok. So. I have been working on this spinning project, I got this fade pack of roving braids (unspun wool) from my favorite wool vendor, Fossil Fibers. This beaut here

They come with 6 braids but I got 2 packs, so the same amount shown here. I have recently been fascinated by how much the colors will stray if you break them up by weight and am super into cable plied yarn because they are supposed to be resistant to pilling. And the cable ply is technically a 4 ply, so you need to make 4 singles. (Bottom left in diagram)

We have our ply plan and our wool. Time to split TWELVE BRAIDS BY WEIGHT. And lengthwise because we gotta get those color changes

Gangle swaps with Ragatha due to both of them being more emotional? Or I guess they're both more supportive? I don't know, I just thought of Gangle being a yarn doll and ran with it :3

She was very easy to design as I had a clear idea of what I wanted her look like. But I did change a couple things, like I added different colors to make her less flat, made her button eyes yellow instead of white, and unraveled her limbs so I didn't have to draw 4 braids :3 (I'll probably change her 'hands and feet' to have strands, but I think it's fine for now)

I want to get the main characters done first, then supporting characters, then the AIs and then Queenie and Kaufmo! (Separating everything into chunks makes the task feel less intimidating) So next up will be Zooble! Then will be the supporting characters! :3

EDIT: i have remade these refs!

i’ve said that these humanizations Are Not Just for normal au and i meant it. i thought it would be fun to make slightly different designs for them based on whether they’re in the webseries (season 1) or the tv series (season 2) because i love doing design variations more than literally anything else. also this is an opportunity to make even cleaner refs for these designs now that i’ve pinned down the shapes of these guys better.

i'm kind of using the idea that the two series happen sequentially. nobody remembers, but there's still some stuff subconsciously carried over. my basic guidelines: the s1 versions are restrained in palette and have a more "conventional" clothing style. the s2 versions include more colors (esp the students' favorite colors), are a little more roughed up, and have Ever So Slightly more "rebellious" aesthetics (red's torn jeans, yellow's ear piercings, duck's open shirt).

red's face got messed up when he tried to unplug the world in DREAMS. it persists even across replacements because it happened During the reset. also as a bonus note his hair is in yarn braids! i just simplify em.

yellow is allowed to pierce his ears now that a lot of his dad's metaphysical presence in this world has (seemingly?) faded (this is only Half a joke). also i gave him green pupils bc i like the idea that the black and green in his eyes swap places for other yellow.

duck was trying hard to be the smartboy in the lessons in s1. but dying so much (+ esp the traumatic punishment death in FOOD) left such an echo on his soul that he has subconsciously gone FUCK being put together it's my whore era. and he is so valid for this.

Crochet cardigan number two. This yarn felt amazing on my hands all the way through. Soft and downy yet smooth.

I just looked at the name and it's Lion Brand "Feels Like Bliss" lol so I'd say that's about right. 100% nylon, color Sky.

So easy to crochet with because the strands are braided. So the hook isn't catching on a single strand. (I don't know if my terms are correct)

Lucifer

When you first meet Lucifer, he would definitely be curious about your braids. He wouldn't make a big deal out of it and honestly may just see it as another human custom that's not as prevailent in the Devildom.

As your relationship with him develops, he may show favoritism towards the classic long box braids. The way the braids sway with your every step has him mesmerized.

I think he would complement every style you wear your braids in, but he is a man who loves his classics after all.

Mammon

Mams would be more vocal about his curiousity. He bombards you with questions like: "How long do they take?" "Do you braid them yourself?" (If the answer is no, that you pay someone to braid your hair for you, 9 times out of 10 he's going to ask how much it costs.)

I think he'd be all over a mixed color box braid, especially if you have yellows and golds mixed in! He's totally not biased towards those colors, what are you talking about? Another style I think he would like is yarn braids, once again in yellows and golds.

Leviathan

He would also be very quiet at first. Not because he doesn't like them, but because he's socially awkward and doesn't want to come off as insensitive. He does some research and then comes to you with questions. Please be patient with him, he's anxious.

I think he'd like it if you style your hair in jumbo box braids and lay your edges too. The laid edges remind him of waves (which complement his roll as Grand Admiral of Hell's Navy, but he won't tell you that).

Take him to an appointment to get your hair done or let him join you if you do it yourself. He will be eager to help in any way (if you want him to), but he gets distracted by the techniques used to braid your hair.

Satan

He would be interested in the history of the different braids, even if they aren't styles you usually wear. Like Lucifer, he would enjoy seeing how your hair moves with you as you walk. He won't admit to staring though.

As for his favorite style of box braids, I think he'd show favoritism towards box braids with curly or wavy ends.

He would be one of the most observent if you try something different. Different edge laying product? He will mention it. Go see a new braider? Somehow he is able to differentiate between them.

Asmodeus

Asmo is obsessed with your braids. He wants to know everything including techniques, history, different styles, and other braid styles too. He insists he sits in and watches your hair get braided.

He would love the knotless braids with beads. He would practically beg to pick out beads for your hair (expect there to be multiple beads with different heart styles). If you aren't into beaded styles, I think he would also like if you style your hair in a half up bun or half up space buns!

At some point in your relationship he will drop hints that he wants to learn how to braid. He will be ecstatic if you teach him.

Beelzebub

He just doesn't really notice at first? I wouldn't say he doesn't care, he cares because your hair style is what makes you unique in his eyes. He just sees it as another human characteristic.

Out of the different styles, I think he would prefer the large box braid style. He thinks it frames your face very well.

I can't see him being very involved with your hair if that makes sense. He's chill, "you do you and I'll love you regardless" kind of vibes

Belphegor

Much like his twin, he doesn't really focus on it. However, I think the further your relationship grows with him the more he'll take notice of your different hair styles.

He finds the bohemian box braid style the most visually appealing. He loves the variety that is exentuated in the style. I think he'd also love if you accessorize with hair scarves or bandanas (bonus points if its his color).

I think he'd compliment on each different style you try, but that one will be at the top of the list if you ask him what style you should do next.

all my wool yarn i make from trusty drop spindle !!!

all is buy wool in braid / rolag / batt / roving. and then do spin with drop spindle myself. want eventually take wool from sheep and process it (wash / skirt / comb / etc) and dye it and spin and knit it all by self (with lots of help bc high support needs but want involve in all process) but no space / time / ability yet!!

1 this one is very first one make ever december 2022 - january 2023!! is 4 oz 70% black shetland + 30% silk roving 2ply no dye

is squishy but is not very soft is spiky and chose this as first project because want practice before make more colorful ones so don’t ruin them and it turn out very good for first project

1.5 left one is from one single rolag of angora rabbit/merino wool/faux cashmere blend. only one rolag because accident spin too thin and hate knit thin yarn. but rolag so so soft love angora

2 right one is rainbow corriedale sheep wool with little sparkles (angelina) from rolag. do chain 3-ply so color change stay same!!! still very thin and don’t know what do with but it pretty

3 is set of targhee sheep wool from 4 oz braid!!!! is easter egg color but end up a little too much green, but still pretty. feel like when spin up, pastel color get more muted… left is main hank, think was 4 ply??? because this still era where spin thin.

but then didn’t time yarn right so had some left over.. so the little hank on right is born!! is 2 ply and actual like this color better because more even and green not overpower.

4 is merino 2 ply from braid!! is gift from partner and it spin very squishy and soft and then i add back the braid label so don’t lose. this time manage spin thicker but nature of hand spin with drop spindle, not very even, so parts thicker parts thinner. twist tend to escape from thick part to thin parts so the thick parts end up loose not spin enough.. but is beauty of hand spin!!!!!

5 is very bad pictures because forget bring… but is 4oz 75 bluefaced leicester (BFL) + 15 silk in chain 3-ply braid so so pretty favorite favorite but maybe is picture bad lighting bad but finish yarn look muted and weird and sad..

6 is also 75 BFL + 15 silk 4oz. 2 ply. is a very very very pretty pink love love!!! is actually first time spin wool that is dyed single color - always thought dyed single color is boring but fell in love with this pink and it very nice. this honestly one of favorite.
