Survival Clothing What to Wear:
It would be great to know where we will be and what the temperature will be like when the SHTF. But that ain't a gonna happen and you can't carry everything for every little situation. Here are some things to consider as a general rule for the unexpected and the planned outing:
Wool vs Cotton:
Wool is best for cold weather while cotton is best for warmer weather. Wool is a powerful insulator. In fact, it's the second-best natural insulator next to goose down. It also repels water and wicks moisture. The lanolin, with its antibacterial, antimicrobial and water repellant properties, can irritate skin and can't be removed simply through washing. It's more durable and more wrinkle-resistant than cotton and it hardly retains odors and stains. Cotton, on the other hand, is a warm-weather fabric. Like wool, cotton has moisture-wicking properties. But the difference between wool vs. cotton is that cotton is a light, breathable fabric that helps you stay cool in the summer. It also provides excellent protection against the ultraviolet rays of the sun. It's hypoallergenic, easy to care for, and affordable.
Survival Clothing Principles:
Your body helps regulate body temperature. Clothing should work WITH your body. Exercise can help keep you warm in the winter and hydration (water intake) will help keep you cool in the summer.
Bulky or tight clothing is bad for survival. Synthetic [lighter/thinner] "fabrics" may be better options.
What you have with you when SHTF will be your survival clothes. Keep your "survival" clothing near you at all times (in a bug-out bag that is WITH YOU).
Dress for the function, not the fashion/form; the proper clothing for the situation.
Dress to blend in with the environment (gray man).

Wiping Away The Ash - “The Death of Me and Everything I Knew”
Part One!(you’re here) Part 2!(coming soon!)
Pretty much this is a comic I started working on back in May and got pretty attached to. A combined take of several story takes; retrograde amnesia, animatronic liberation as sentient beings with rights, the angst of thinking you’ve finally made it safe and sound only for your worst nightmare to return in full, and the exploratory look on how the dynamic has changed two individuals as sides of the same coin whom have grown and weathered hell together and come out stronger for it-into two sides of different coins, misaligned as they no longer click; one side weathered with the experiences it’s survived, and the other side wiped clean, having never remembered the hell they went through let alone healing from it. Oh, and the whole ‘falling in love all over again, remixed,’ too, of course. 💜
Lemme know what yall think as I work on part two! Feedback is much appreciated and a giant motivator💜

This post by @bladeofavernus got me thinking about Wyll struggling to maintain his clothes after being cast out, his last scraps of home. But I can absolutely see a detail like that playing into a Wyll/Astarion romance.
Like, it begins with Astarion watching Wyll absolutely massacring another of his shirts by trying to stitch over a hole or a rip, and he can see Wyll starting to get flustered. So he takes over with a dramatic sigh, shows Wyll how a master does it - lets him watch as he works.
Time passes - their relationship deepens - and Wyll starts to notice his stuff going missing night after night - a shirt or trousers or his sleepclothes, only to mysteriously reappear in his backpack. And when they reappear, they're tidy and repaired, with a new little embellishment.
By the time their journey comes to an end, whether Wyll is slipping on his shirt or his socks, his fingers brush a bit of embroidery, and he knows he's loved.

Shape do you ever think about soulfire and layers and the cold. I do... I do...
I didnt before but i sure am now!!
I was talking to someone irl a few days ago and they mentioned a headcanon where soulfire didn't have any winter clothes when they spawned in, but. they did have a lot of corpses with old, stained clothes. can you imagine? stripping the corpse of yourself to add just a few more seconds between yourself and the next respawn? caught in another death loop at that godforsaken spawn, and grateful for the fact that at least it means you'll be warmer, just a little. Imagine them all wrapped up in parts of bad's cloak- theyre hunted for the ferocity of their guard dog, but even his failures keep them warm. and now bad wears his snowgear as a cosmetic, marking him as one of theirs just as much as they are his.
and the armour... ohh, their armour. layers for warmth and layers for protection are different- I think at a certain point they dont need the warm layers, not the way they used to. but there is something in them that still equates warmth with protection. theres something about them building all of their armour sets underneath a lake of lava. willing to enchant their sets in safety, while molten rock drips slowly onto them from the ceiling above. they dont need their armour to stay warm, because their home will keep them warm for them.
and then the agreement to use no enchantments. their protection, their warmth- thrown away so quickly, almost eagerly. after all, soulfire knows how to handle the cold- and maybe some of them even miss it
