hellooo!! may I request a kazuha x gn!reader who has a passion for music?? 👀
୨୧ Ballads of Scarlet Winds
Tumblr media
ft. kazuha x gn!reader
cw: bullet point paragraphs + random scenarios, reader is a musical prodigy and plays many instruments, reader has a hydro vision, traveler and paimon mentioned, poetic bullshit /lh, pure fluff
Tumblr media
>> 🍁 kazuha’s musings: THIS IS SO CUTE GRGAH. thank you for requesting this oh my gosh. I’m very musically illiterate so if u actually play violin I’m sorry if my description of reader playing it isn’t very accurate… I was thinking about final duet when writing that part
Tumblr media
It’s clear that Kazuha himself has a great appreciation for the arts, from poetry to painting, any kind of art form is what soothes his mind from any ill thoughts of the past that traverse in the ronin’s brain at times.
Kazuha has an open mind, even finding something as uncharacteristic as rock and roll music to pique his interests. When he discovered your love for musical play, he was all the more happy to listen to you play or simply talk about the inner workings of creating melodic harmonies.
Kazuha doesn’t like to pride himself on being musically talented, adamant that all he can do is play a simple tune on a leaf or compose a few haikus in his spare time. He offers many praises for your talents, and he seems flattered all the same when you say his “limited skills” (his words) in flowery poetry and music are just as wonderful.
He admires people with a passion, some kind of goal or way of life that encourages them to wake up in the morning and bring them a kind of joy like no other. Kazuha presumes that’s why you were blessed with a vision by the hydro archon, comparing the calming flow of rivers and passionate thrash of ocean waves to your music; the sound ringing in his ears stirring something deep within his heart, sometimes so strong they feel like flashes of thunderous roars and whirling winds in the sea.
Kazuha swears he can see the pure joy and passion in your irises like the way your vision bubbles and glows with elemental energy and human determination. That sparkle grows more apparent when you’re playing an instrument, the harmonized tunes dancing across the winds of early autumn alongside scarlet leaves. The sound hums and bellows, seeping deep into your bones as if the instrument is an extension of your being.
Even when Kazuha is not with you in the lands of Inazuma, even if he may be nations away, he’ll still hear an all-too familiar tune that floats in the wind.
“Do you hear that?” Kazuha closes his eyes with a soft smile on his features, arms leaned against the railings of the Crux.
“Hear what?” Paimon turned to Kazuha with a puzzled frown, “All I can hear is the ocean.” Paimon, Kazuha, and the Traveler were aboard the Crux once again; the commotion of the Vision Hunt Decree had long ended, but Kazuha had suggested they take a visit to his hometown as fall was fast approaching and Beidou’s crew was planning to pick up a load of fireworks.
“There’s a familiar tune in the wind, and I believe I know just who it is.” he muses, stroking the fibers of a maple leaf in the tips of his fingers; Paimon hummed, closing her eyes as if she’d be able to hear the sound Kazuha was talking about any better.
“Ah, I give up — Paimon doesn’t have super-hearing like Kazuha!” the Traveler chuckles lightly at Paimon, turning to Kazuha “Maybe it’d be easier if you explained what it sounds like?” they asked.
Kazuha hums, giving it some thought before nodding in agreement “I suppose I could try to explain it, but it’s much better if you were to listen to them in person.” he coughs lightly into the fist of his hand, like preparing for a speech.
“No matter where I am, I’m always able to hear something reminiscent of clear water running down a stream; a melodic harmony sung by someone very dear to my heart. It’s never a specific tune, at times it seems content, other times filled with great turmoil. The sound always brings me at peace from the way it rings in my ears, dare I say it competes with even the best of wine and poetry.”
The Traveler and Paimon stare at Kazuha almost in awe, him laughing in a slightly sheepish manner before turning his gaze back to the infinite horizon of the sea. “That melody must be really important to you.” the Traveler mutters thoughtfully, a considerate smile on their features.
“It is,” Kazuha nods, “I’m still able to hear it even in the harshest of thunderstorms and rainfalls; like it urges me to not lose hope.”
“Are they in Inazuma? They sound like an amazing musician—!” Paimon was suddenly giddy, bouncing on her toes in the air beside the blonde Traveler.
“Yes, a part of my reason for returning to Inazuma was to visit them for short while, I’m sure they’d be happy to meet you two as well.”
“Maybe they can teach Paimon how to play the lyre!”
“Hey! I’m not that bad at it— You’re just a bad teacher!”
-
When you offered Kazuha to share some of your musical literacy with him, he was beyond happy to oblige. It comes to him quite naturally, the way his slender fingers; one veiled in white bandages, pluck at the fibrous strings of one of your instruments to create a simple tune sends you into a silent trance. He’s all the more quick to notice, but he finds it more endearing that he’s worthy enough to be stared at with such affection.
“You can try if you like.” You smiled warmly at Kazuha as you held out the vintage lyre in front of him.
His eyes widened a bit, staring down at the item before looking back up at you with tinges of hesitance laced into his expression.
“Are you sure? I know you really love this lyre.” it was almost cute how concerned and respectful he was over using or touching other people’s belongings, but you simply outstretched your palm further to show your certainty. “Kazuha, you’re one of the most gentle people I know, I trust you.”
His eyes softened at your comforting words, his hand gently taking the instrument from your grasp. You inched closer to him from where you two sat and placed your hands against his, guiding him as to how he should be holding the lyre. You were too engrossed in showing him the basics that you seemed to have missed the prominent blush that outlined Kazuha’s handsome features, staring almost dumbfoundedly at his nimble fingers that were held against yours.
“…Then take your thumb and pointer finger and…” he shook his head in defiance once a sudden note vibrated from the gentle pluck of your finger, glazed eyes focusing again. You titled your head in confusion, looking up at Kazuha to observe his almost nervous expression? Right, you’re probably used to this kind of contact from showing friends and family how to play, Kazuha thought.
When the pieces clicked together, you couldn’t help the giggle that escaped your lips. “It’s rare that I see Kaedehara Kazuha look embarrassed.” he coughed, turning his attention back onto the lyre as an attempt to ignore your teasing remark. He plucked at some of the strings to listen to their sound, feeling you pull your hands away from their hold on him. A part of him was slightly disappointed by the lack of proximity, but he saw you were still sitting close by him expectantly.
“Don’t expect me to be as skilled as you are, dove.” Kazuha smiled bashfully without meeting your warm gaze, you shook your head with a smile on your lips in a playful manner.
“Don’t be so hard on yourself, it shouldn’t matter if it sounds good or not as long as it’s coming from the heart. Well, that’s just what I think.”
You and Kazuha stayed in a comfortable silence after that, calmly listening to Kazuha’s at first hesitant tugs on each string, watching him grow slowly more adjusted to the instrument before finding his own sweet melody. You couldn’t deny how beautiful at peace he looked like this, his bangs draped slightly over his eyes and lose strands placed haphazardly that only seemed to enhance how handsome he looked. The soft smile that tugged at his lips made your heart swell, eyes traveling towards the lyre that was currently in Kazuha’s possession.
Fingers laced every string with care, playing a simple repetitive tune. You couldn’t help but smile yourself, he looked so happy like this, just like the way you felt whenever your fingertips created so many unique sounds and wordless lyrics. The thought made you want to impulsively kiss him, if you were being honest.
“A wonderful view, isn’t it?” Kazuha’s words fluttered against your ears, suddenly being pulled out of your own thoughts. “I’m flattered that I’m so interesting to be stared at by you.” the meaning behind his words made your eyes widen, lips parted but the flimsy defense stuck in your throat. You could hear him laugh in a lighthearted tone, making your heart flutter even more and cheeks deepen in colour.
“I’m just teasing, love. I can’t have you always being the one making my heart flutter, can I?”
-
(I have no introductory prompt/line for this just enjoy.)
It was a quiet day on Narukami Island, the two of you deciding to find a place to rest as you were restless from the anticipation of showing your boyfriend a violin you recently bought from Fontaine. It was freshly out of the box, the dark wood practically shimmering as you refused to use it without Kazuha first.
“I don’t have anything written.” you sheepishly laughed, gently wrapping your fingers around the bow and positioning the base of the violin so it rests against the crook of your neck as your hand supports the end.
“Play whatever comes to mind, I’m confident whatever you play will sound wonderful.” Kazuha gives you an encouraging smile, sitting peacefully on a rock as he gives you a nod.
The nod he gave was good-natured, silently telling you that you had nothing to worry about and to trust your capabilities. You smiled widely, taking in a deep breath of fresh air that cooled and spread across your lungs. Closing your eyes, the bow slid gracefully against the thinly woven strings that vibrated and echoed across the field. You were slowly finding your footing, searching for the melody that floated along the scarlet hills and oceanic waves like fragments of glass shards.
The airy sound of your violin presented unsure, maybe even anxious from the way it trembled ever so slightly; shards and mismatched pieces clicking together with each stroke of the arched bow. The unnamed tune echoing and swimming across the gentle waves and winds of Narukami felt like it was seeping deep within your soul; you hoped that Kazuha felt this way, too, the pure serene calmness that swelled your heart, the love for the man that listened and hung onto every improvised note and melody that bubbled underneath like it was going to burst.
You can’t tell how long you played for, not even Kazuha; all that truly mattered was the satisfaction of that final note drawing your finished portrait to a close, even if the song could have gone for seemingly forever. When you opened your eyes, you were met with such a beautiful, wonderful sight. Kazuha’s eyes were shining like the intricate and flowing shades of red that weaved itself in the strings of a maple leaf, hints and glimmers of bewilderment and whole-hearted love strung along the vibrant colours of Kazuha’s irises. The smile that was unashamedly wide was genuine, lips curved upwards and painted with a pretty pink.
“I think I know why your sound always travels in the wind so vibrantly,” the violin and bow was carefully returned to the velvet enclosed case before you turned back to Kazuha, who now stood up from his seat on the rock and moved closer to you so a bandaged hand could find its way on your cheek. “every note is played with such freedom and ambition, the gods of this world carry every note for the whole world to listen.”
Your face flushes, feeling the winds pick up as its breeze brushes against your hot cheeks. You both grinned at each other, Kazuha’s thumb grazing across your cheek; the small contact making your heart embarrassingly flip in your chest. He somehow looked even prettier up close, face inching closer as you closed your eyes in anticipation. It felt almost painful, those few remaining seconds until your lover’s lips finally pressed against yours so wonderfully that you may as well have started melting.
Your heart beated and thumped heavy in your ears, the taste of Kazuha’s lips light on your tongue while u absentmindedly pressed your palms against his chest. His own heart trembled in an uneven pace against yours, sporadic in its rate as if he himself was embarrassed to some degree as well. You smiled at the possibility, curved lips pressing further against your lover’s so the strands of his white hair tickled your face.
Maybe the greatest melody of all was you and Kazuha’s heartbeats.
Kazuha always keeps an eye out for interesting things to bring to you from his journeys, more specifically instruments. Of course, buying musical devices aren’t in the salary margin of a wandering samurai like Kazuha, but his everlasting politeness and interest in the arts always manage him to land up with a new free trinket to bring next time he visits.
When he got his hands on the Floral Zither, he was all the more excited to send it to you. Kazuha made it a priority to write a letter to you as soon as possible.
Musical Interest
Sender: Kaedehara Kazuha
Time/Date: 20XX-XX-XX 00:00
Apologies if I’ve been overzealous with my letter-sending recently, many interesting things happen as a wanderer and it’s difficult to not share these stories with your loved ones, and that includes you.
I had recently obtained something called a Floral Zither, it was quite beaten down when I received it but I had managed to replace the strings and fine-tune it to the best of my abilities, but you have much more experience in this area then I do.
It makes quite the interesting sound, almost like a buzzing bee humming. I tried playing a few notes, however I knew it would be much more useful in your capable hands. The thought of you playing this instrument makes me want to see you more. When I arrive in Inazuma again, I’d love to hear you play whatever wonderful melody you came up with when I was gone.
Love, Kazuha

I miss Odasaku. And it's comforting.
Dazai Osamu (angst)
Dazai wants to talk to you about his problems. You find Dazai on the floor, hugging Oda's shirt and crying, surrounded by pills and bloody bandages, Hey…. I silently walked up to Dazai and hugged him, taking his hand. Dazai looks at you with tear-stained eyes, and his hands are shaking. He squeezes your hand tightly and buries his face in your chest. He cries silently, clinging to you like a drowning man to a lifeline. You sit with Dazai for a while, holding him to you, until he gradually calms down and falls asleep on your lap. You gently lay him down and put your hand on his forehead, quietly hoping that he will find the peace he deserves. Watching him sink into a peaceful sleep, you can't help but feel a deep sense of sadness and concern for his well-being. It is clear that he has been through a lot, and it will take time for him to heal. But now you are with him to provide comfort and support and to let him know that he is not alone. You sit down next to Dazai, still holding his hand, and fall asleep next to him. It's a peaceful dream, and you find yourself waking up feeling rested and in a serene state of mind. Dazai is still sleeping, but his breathing has leveled off, and there is a sense of calm in the air. You sit there for a few moments, enjoying the silence of the room, enjoying the moment of satisfaction. Eventually, you manage to free your hand from Dazai's grip and stand up. You freeze for a moment, gazing down at him intently, and say I will never leave you… And I will support you in any way I can. Your words hang in the air as if they have a tangible presence. You feel a determination rising inside you, and you know that you really mean every word you've just said. Dazai may not be aware of what you just said, but deep down you know that he will feel it. You pull the blanket up to his chin, gently tuck it in and leave a gentle kiss on his forehead before leaving the room, ready to face whatever the future holds, as long as you can support Dazai.
After leaving the room, you clean up the apartment, removing all traces of garbage and placing items on the shelves to maximize the space. You notice a few dirty plates piled up in the sink and head to the kitchen to start cooking. You open the refrigerator and evaluate its contents, taking a few ingredients for the omelet that Dazai loves so much. You light the stove, add a little oil to the pan and start chopping vegetables and egg. After beating the omelet and putting it on a plate, you take a deep breath and inhale the sweet aroma coming from your creation. The smell teases your nose and makes your mouth water with anticipation. You feel satisfied that you have finished cleaning the apartment and cooking, and now you return to Dazai's room with an omelet in your hands. You carefully put the plate on the nightstand and start gently stroking his hair. By doing this, you whisper words of encouragement and love, reminding him that he is not alone and that you are there to support him in any way.
He looks at the omelette and then looks up at you. You can almost see the inner struggle in his eyes when he's debating whether to take a bite. You reach out and gently take Dazai's hand: "Dazai, I love you, and I want you to know that I am always here for you. You can rely on me, count on my help and tell me if you need anything. I want to always support you. You don't have to fight alone, I'm here for you." You gently stroke his hand and see how Dazai's eyes soften a little when he listens to your words.
You bend down and gently kiss Dazai on the forehead as a sign of your sincere love and care for him. You want him to know that you are always there for him, not only with words, but also with actions. Dazai closes his eyes when you kiss him, and you feel a gentle sigh escaping from his lips. You take this as a positive sign and sit down next to him, ready to offer any further support he may need.
You ask Dazai gently: "Do you want to talk about what's bothering you, Dazai? I'm here to listen if you need someone to talk to." You want to give him a safe space so he can express his feelings and share his pain. You know that sometimes talking about our concerns can help us feel better, and you hope that your presence and openness can be a source of comfort for Dazai. You reach out and take Dazai's hand, gently holding it in yours. This is a silent gesture, but it speaks eloquently about your love and care for him. You sit next to him, letting him know that you are next to him and that you will support him in everything. You don't push him to talk, but just being around him, offering your presence and companionship can mean a lot to him. You hope that your actions will bring him comfort in this difficult time.
You sit with Dazai in silence, holding his hand and offering your presence as a consolation. You know that sometimes it can be difficult to find the right words, especially when someone is faced with a difficult situation. So you just sit next to him, giving him a safe and supportive space to process his thoughts and feelings. You hope that your presence will become a source of strength for him during this time. After a while, Dazai looks at you and smiles - a small but sincere expression of gratitude for your company. You're asking Dazai: "Do you want to rest? I can stay here with you if you want." You can see that he looks a little tired, probably because of all the emotions he had to go through. You want to be sure that he will take care of himself, so you offer to stay with him and provide any help he needs.
Dazai nods and puts his head on your shoulder: "Thank you, I appreciate it," he says softly. You hug him, hugging him to you, and you sit together in cozy silence, just enjoying the warmth of each other's company. You feel happy knowing that you are gently stroking Dazai's hair, feeling the soft strands slide between your fingers. It's a gesture that comes naturally to you at moments like this, which you know will help him relax. You feel Dazai's body starting to relax next to yours, and you're relieved to see that he's starting to feel better. You keep hugging him, holding him gently to you, letting the silence in the room envelop you both.As you both sit there, locked in each other's arms, you both slowly begin to drift off to sleep. The day has been emotionally exhausting for both of you, and comfort in each other's presence is all you need to find peace in this moment. The warmth of Dazai's body pressed against yours calms you down, and you feel a sense of security, slowly sinking into sleep. You don't know how long you'll be there, but it doesn't matter because you both wake up refreshed and refreshed, ready to face whatever comes next.
Dazai stretches and yawns: "Good morning," he says with a smile, "I slept pretty well, thanks for staying with me last night." He rubs his eyes and sits up, looking around the room. "It's good to start a new day, but what about you?" "I also had a good night's sleep. How are you feeling?" Dazai stretches again and takes a deep breath: "I feel much better, thank you. I always feel better in your company." He looks at you with a sincere smile: "I am grateful that you are in my life."

Day 3: "Wait, you love me?" - "I always have."
@flufftober
Yamato set down his backpack with a sigh. It wasn’t unusual for them to keep on walking the whole night but after two days and nights in a row, his body longed for at least a couple hours of sleep. He barely noticed the soft flowing of the creek that was only a throwing distance away from where Kakashi had decided to set up their camp. It was the silver sparkle of the moonlight dancing on the water that caught his eye. With a yawn he turned to Kakashi. “Mind if I take the first watch?” he asked.
Kakashi gave him a curious look. “Don’t you think you’re a bit too tired for that?”
Yamato shrugged and propped his backpack against a tree next to him. “If I go to sleep now, I probably won’t wake up in time for the second watch. I’d rather do it now if you don’t mind.”
Kakashi gave it a thought and nodded reluctantly. Yamato flashed him a tired smile and pointed in the direction of the creek. “I’ll go freshen up a bit. That should wake me up.”
Without waiting for a reply, he walked towards the creek. When the trees gave way, he paused. Now that the creek was in full view, it spread out all its beauty in front of him. Crystal clear water softly swashed against the stones that lined the banks. In a calm area at his feet, he could see the reflection of the moon high up in the sky. In a strained movement he knelt down by the water and scooped up some of it with his hand. He washed his face first and flinched when the cold water touched his bare skin. After he felt refreshed, he scooped up more water and drank a few sips.
When his thirst was satisfied, Yamato sat down cross-legged at the riverside, running his hand through the cold water lost in thought. The familiar sounds of Kakashi setting up their camp and the shining reflection of the moon in front of him gave him a feeling of inner peace.
“Do you remember the first time we met?” he asked quietly. “It was a night like this one.”
He felt Kakashi pause behind him and when he spoke, Yamato heard the smile in his voice. “You were a fierce kid. It took me almost three years to convince you that we could be friends.”
Yamato nodded slightly. He held many memories from that time dear but thinking about it also resurfaced deep rooted regrets and even fear. The memory of Danzou’s wrathful face and later waking up constrained to a cot, knowing he was about to lose everything that made him the person he was, still cut deep. Yamato felt his body tense up and he focused on his breathing. Inhale, exhale. Even after all these years, his former leader still cast a long and pitch-dark shadow.
As if Kakashi knew what he was thinking about he suddenly said, “I can’t remember ever feeling more relieved than when I found you just in time.”
Yamato nodded absentmindedly. “Me neither. You saved me.”
“As you did before,” Kakashi reminded him. “And as you have been doing ever since.”
A warm and fuzzy feeling rose in Yamato and he felt his tension fade away. “We’re a good team, aren’t we?”
He turned to face Kakashi, just in time to see him nod in agreement. A small fire was crackling behind him, casting dancing shadows on the trees surrounding them. He held his sleeping mat in one hand and his backpack in the other before carefully setting it down next to the tree Yamato’s backpack leaned on.
“Don’t you think that’s a bit too close?” Yamato asked a bit surprised.
Kakashi paused and skeptically looked down, measuring the distance between the watch and sleep set up with his gaze. “No, I don’t think so,” he replied and confidently positioned his sleeping mat even closer while giving Yamato a sassy look.
Yamato shook his head with a smile. Kakashi did have a tendency to do whatever he felt like – and now that he thought more closely about it, Kakashi had indeed slept even closer to him than usual during this mission. Of course, that was surely only due to the fact that they had been surrounded by enemies. Being too far apart could have meant their demise during this mission. For a second, the thought crossed his mind that they were out of danger now and didn’t rely on such measures anymore. But then he shrugged. Habits were hard to shake, it meant nothing. “Do you need some water?” he called out, intently ignoring the feeling of wistfulness that arose in him at that thought.
Kakashi nodded and pointed at the small fire. “Come over here, we should at least eat something before we take a rest.”
Yamato hastily filled their bottles with fresh creek water and then got up with a soft groan. When he reached the campfire, he handed one bottle to Kakashi and set the other on the ground beside him. Kakashi sat on a log that he must have found somewhere in the nearby forest. He had carefully placed it next to the campfire and now patted on the wood beside him, motioning for Yamato to sit down next to him. While Yamato did as he asked, Kakashi produced two food rations seemingly out of nowhere.
“What would you like to eat?” he asked while studying the wrappers with a solemn look on his face. “Brown ration pills or rather … dark brown ration pills?”
He said it so seriously that Yamato laughed out loud. “I’ll take the lighter ones, thanks,” he said with a grin and took the ration pills that Kakashi offered him. “Only one more night until we can finally get some real food.”
Kakashi put one of the pills into his mouth, furrowed his eyebrow and said almost convincingly haughtily, “I don’t get what you’re on about. These are delicious.”
Yamato giggled to himself when he saw Kakashi struggling to swallow the pill. He forced his own pills down, followed by some creek water to prevent the almost inevitable dry cough that usually followed eating the ration pills.
After they had finished their sparse meal, they both fell silent. Yamato noticed that he was sitting very close to Kakashi, close enough to feel the warmth he radiated. Yamato set his eyes on the dancing flames in front of him. The soft crackling of wood lulled him and he felt his eyelids getting heavy. Just one moment, he thought to himself when the fire slowly faded and turned into a soft and cozy darkness.
After what felt like a small eternity, Yamato found the will to open his eyes again. With a small yawn he looked at the fire – and froze when he saw that it had turned to embers that emitted a mellow glow. Horrified, he shook his head to shake off the dizziness. He paused when he felt something warm grazing his cheek. It took him a moment to process the situation but then he shot up and stared at Kakashi in horror. “I am so sorry,” he stammered, his cheeks blushing at the realization that he had fallen asleep on Kakashi’s shoulder. “I don’t know how … I’m … that shouldn’t have happened!”
Kakashi gave him a strangely tender look. “Don’t apologize. I find it adorable. It’s one of the things I love about you.”
Yamato sighed in relief and smiled apologetically. It took a second for Kakashi’s words to sink in. But when they did, an electric shock bolted through his body. He stared at Kakashi with wide eyes, his heart thundering in his chest while he tried to grasp the meaning of what Kakashi just said.
His voice trembled when he slowly asked, “Wait, you love me?”
Kakashi’s eye shone in the soft glow of the embers and a gentle smile appeared behind his mask. His voice was as warm as the look in his eyes when he replied, “I always have.”

Writing Prompt: Inner Demons
So I played Sekiro yesterday and till now my mind is filled with samurai's and katanas lol.
I couldn't concentrate on my IF so I decided to write a snippet.
Also, if you're a writer or a reader you can use this as a prompt to your story or just write for fun but remember if you use it, just give me credit :)
I am standing beneath the towering bamboo trees, seeking refuge from the scorching sun. Despite the shade, the sun's rays still manage to sneak through, causing me to adjust my sedge hat for the third time. Sweat beads form on my forehead, and I can feel the sun's gaze burning down on me.
As I scan my surroundings, I can't help but feel as though the sun is taunting me, shifting its angle to intensify its fiery glare upon me. My skin feels as though it's on fire, and my throat is parched from the sweltering heat.
My hand instinctively reaches for the gourd hanging from my hip. With a quick flick of my wrist, I bring it to my lips and tilt my head back, allowing the cool, refreshing water to quench my parched throat. It's not the smooth, satisfying taste of sake, but it does the job. I'll have to find a proper bottle of sake once I pass through the next town.
With a deep breath, I take a step forward, my feet sinking into the dirt beneath me. The path ahead is uncertain, but I must remain focused and vigilant. As I walk, the sound of rustling leaves and chirping birds surround me, and I take solace in the peace and tranquility of nature.
As the sun reached its peak, a gust of wind swept through the Valley of Whispers, stirring the tall bamboo stalks into a synchronized dance. Their rustling whispers filled the air, resembling the soft murmur of human voices.
The forest earned its name not from its topography, but from the eerie sounds produced by the bamboo grove every noon. Locals believed that the whispers belonged to the spirits of fallen samurai, haunting the valley in search of peace.
I'm never been a supertitious lot but I can say that the whispers are starting to sound more clear as the minute pass by and if you listen close, you can even pinpoint a voice of a little girl.
But I dismiss the thought and focus on the read ahead, no use getting my imagination the best of me.
The wind begins to subside, but the whispers persist, accompanying me like a loyal ally. Suddenly, a blur of movement catches the corner of my eye. My instincts kick in, and I subtly adjust my hat, affording me a better view. My eyes dart to the source of the disturbance, and there, among the bamboo groves, I spot a shadow darting from cover to cover.
My senses are on high alert, and though my mind tells me that the stalking shadow is merely a trick of the forest, I know better. I have felt this sensation before, the feeling of being hunted like prey. Without hesitation, I raise my hand and grip the tsuba of my sword, ready to draw at a moment's notice.
As a ronin, I have traveled far and wide, never once straying from the teachings of my master. Even in death, his voice echoes in my mind, guiding me with his wisdom.
"Kenji, listen to me," he had said. "I will impart to you three rules that allowed me to live a long life as a samurai. First, remember that the sword is an extension of you, a part of your soul. Train it like a muscle, for if your blade is dull, you will surely die. Second, be calm of mind and hone your senses. In this world, there is no good or bad, only those who seek to kill you. And finally, never doubt your instincts, no matter how ridiculous they may seem."
As I draw my sword with lightning speed, my instincts take over. Three kunai knives come hurtling towards me, but I am ready. With the precision and grace of a master swordsman, I deflect them effortlessly, each strike ringing out like a bell.
As I turn to face my attacker, I catch a glimpse of their black shinobi garb, as dark as the night sky. It's as if they are swallowing up the light from the sun. I can feel my heart racing, but my training keeps me calm.
The figure is adorned with kunai knives strapped to their legs, and polished metal balls are hanging from their belt. But it is the mask they wear that truly sends chills down my spine. It is the mask of a red demon oni, its teeth sharp and pointed like daggers. It is a symbol of death and destruction, a warning to all those who cross their path.
I raise my voice, hoping to provoke the mysterious figure to speak. "So they sent an assassin!" I shout with conviction, my hand firmly grasping the hilt of my sword.
The stranger responds with a swift movement, shifting their sword to their left side and drawing a wakizashi from its scabbard. The small sword is like a little brother to the katana, and I can tell this is a skilled warrior.
But the stranger is not finished yet. With two swords in hand, they slowly raise their free hand to their mask. I hold my breath, knowing that revealing one's identity can be a fatal mistake in the world of assassins.
With a deft movement, the mask is removed, and my heart skips a beat. I am face to face with myself. We share the same nose, the same clean-shaven chin, and even the same eyebrows. The only difference is in their eyes, which seem to glow like red orbs, and their pale, almost lifeless skin.
"I have come to claim your soul, ronin!" the assassin growls, their red eyes glowing menacingly as they brandish their weapons.
My hand tightens around the hilt of my sword as I prepare for the fight of my life. This enemy may look like me, but they are not me. They are an assassin, sent to kill me.
But as I ready myself, I cannot help but feel a twinge of fear. This opponent is unlike any I have faced before. They know my every move, my every thought. How can I defeat them?
I close my eyes and bow my head, calling upon the wisdom of my master. "Guide my sword and offer me your wisdom once more," I pray silently.
With a deep breath, I open my eyes and charge forward, meeting the assassin's attack with a fierce clash of steel. The sound echoes through the forest as we exchange blows, each strike ringing out like a thunderclap.
As we fought, I could hear my master's voice in my mind, guiding me with every step. His teachings echoed in my heart, giving me the strength and skill to hold my own against my doppelganger.
"Kenji, remember that the sword is an extension of you," his voice whispered. "Let it flow like water, and strike with the force of a thunderbolt."
With a swift motion, I raise my sword and take a defensive stance, watching as the assassin approaches. Their movements are quick and precise, their two swords flashing through the air like deadly snakes. I can feel their eyes on me, their gaze burning into my skin like hot coals.
The sounds of our swords clashing echoed through the valley as I stood, face to face with my opponent. I was a ronin, a samurai without a master, and my enemy was a skilled warrior, trained in the art of swordsmanship.
With every clash of our blades, my enemy seemed to know my next move. It was as if they could predict my every thought, every action. But I had one advantage: I was not bound by the strict code of honor that governed the samurai.
As my enemy swung their sword towards me, I deftly parried the attack and raised my own weapon, striking them in the face with the handle. They staggered back, stunned, and I seized the opportunity to strike.
I sliced my sword across their midsection, and black blood spilled forth, sizzling in the bright sunlight. I pushed my blade into their stomach and dragged it across, watching as the blood disappeared in a puff of smoke.
But my victory was short-lived. Behind me, I heard the sound of laughter. "Is that all you've got, ronin?" my enemy taunted, rising to their feet.
I turned to face them, gripping my sword tightly. This battle was far from over, and I knew that my opponent was not to be underestimated.

Meditation Moment
I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and allow myself to shift inward. In my mind’s eye, I see myself floating on my back in a river of crystal clear water. I let the current carry me; effortlessly and naturally. This river is the flow of life; where consciousness becomes creation as I move through space and time. When I allow the current to carry me, rather than grasping for an outcome or seeking to control, my life is filled with inner calm, wisdom and peace.

What color does your love feel like?
Tumblr media
bright sunny yellow
Sweet tasting popsicles, summer dresses and shielding your eyes from the sun. Your love is the excitement of something brewing, something growing. It's the almost childish bubbling giggles of something new, but with the potential to stay. It's wide smiles, blinding sunny light and warm bodies that gravitate to one another. It's the the softness, the willingness, the slight holding of breaths in a crucial "what if" moment. It's the impatience too. The bouncing on tiptoes to see further than your eyes can reach, the holding out for a future that never seems to come even though you're ready, you're so so so ready. It's the constant feeling of warm sand beneath your feet, holding out for the crashing waves. And still you wait, dry and impatient and with burnt soles of feet. Your love is sour candy, enjoying it as your nose scrunches up from the aftertaste of it. It's hands that grab and take hold, that reach and ask them to stay and hope and beg and wait. It's bubbling excitement sure, but it's also demanding, focused, driven. It's love like a plan, with a path and route and a clear destination. And you bonce on your tiptoes, and burning, waiting for the soothing water, the crashing waves, you hold onto the melting popsicle, you wait and wait and wait. It's tiring almost as much as it's lazer focused ambition, deeply rooted desire and the unrelenting hope that it will work, that it will come. And it does, I promise it does. The waves crash, the beach floods and the pain passes, the water cool and soothing and you can let yourself fall in, sinking, sinking. And it's good, it's perfect, what you were hoping and more, holding and embracing you and welcoming you into the stillness you always knew you were reaching for.
Tumblr media
dark stormy blue
Sinking ships, raging seas and tumultuous hearts, love isn't easy for you. It's a struggle, a constant inner fight of should I? Can I? Do I? Feelings are hard and they rumble inside you in a dissatisfied mess that begs to be let out. Your heart screams and cries inside you and you... You can't, you won't. You're scared. And love is scary, it's hard and sometimes it just doesn't work out. People leave, people hurt, people change their minds. And you and your cold stormy heart yearn for the calmness, for the distance, to be allowed and able to simply not feel. And yet, you do. It rages, it fights and storms inside you and you try to keep it down, keep it quiet, to feel pretending not to. It's the burn of childhood friends growing apart, of parents that aren't quite there, of relationships that burn out. So you snuff it down with water, cold and calming and blue, blue, blue. But being loved by you is blue too, just not in that way. It's the soothing, embracing feeling of floating, the moment when you sink down bellow the waves and become one with the water, with everything. It's the balance, the dramatic yet calming sound of waves that crash against a rocky shore. You're the good and the bad, the violence of the storm and the watery peace right after. You're the blue, blue feeling and loving you is watery tears, yelled confessions that no one will hear and burying your feelings in a deep watery grave never to be found out about. Your love is dark stormy blue, it's vast and deep and all encompassing, it's safety in the surface of danger, it's trusting the unruly abyss and yet I'd gladly risk drowning just to feel what it's like being loved by you.

Discover the secrets of cypress essential oil: A natural treasure for beauty and well-being
Tumblr media
Essential oils have long been appreciated for their many health and beauty benefits. Among these, cypress essential oil stands out for its unique and versatile properties. In this article, we'll explore the many benefits of this precious oil, as well as five ways to use it in the cosmetics industry.
Once upon a time, in the depths of an ancient forest, a majestic cypress stood proudly among its peers. Its rough bark told the story of centuries past, while its branches stretched skywards like fingers reaching for the stars. At the foot of this venerable tree, a spring gushed forth, fed by the pure waters of the surrounding mountains. It was here that the forest's best-kept secret resided: the precious essence of cypress, captured in every drop of oil that escaped from the vibrant leaves.
The forest's inhabitants had long been aware of the virtues of this sacred oil. Ancient healers used it to soothe ailments of the body and mind, while nature lovers were intoxicated by its bewitching fragrance on their morning walks. One day, a young girl from the neighbouring village came to meet the cypress. Tormented by the worries of modern life, she sought refuge in the age-old wisdom of nature. Guided by a gentle wind, she discovered the majestic tree and felt her heart soothe at its touch. History and Symbolism of February Birthstones : Amethyst and Bloodstone
February has not one, but two birthstones - amethyst and bloodstone. Each of these gemstones carries a rich history and symbolism that has fascinated people for centuries. Let's explore the stories behind these captivating birthstones.
Tumblr media
Amethyst - Characteristics and Benefits
Amethyst, a beautiful purple gemstone, has a rich history dating back to ancient times. Its unique color and distinct properties have made it a symbol of royalty, spirituality, and healing. Let's take a closer look at the characteristics and benefits of amethyst.
Amethyst is a variety of quartz known for its purple hues, ranging from pale lavender to deep violet. It is renowned for its transparency, brilliance, and durability, making it a popular choice for jewelry. Amethyst also possesses a unique property called dichroism, which means it can exhibit different colors when viewed from different angles.
In terms of metaphysical properties, amethyst is believed to have a calming and protective energy. It is often used to enhance spiritual growth, promote inner peace, and aid in meditation. Additionally, amethyst is thought to have healing properties that can help alleviate stress, anxiety, and insomnia.
Amethyst - Spiritual and Healing Properties
Amethyst holds a special place in various mythologies and spiritual traditions around the world. Ancient Greeks believed that amethyst could protect against drunkenness and help maintain a clear mind. In fact, the name "amethyst" is derived from the Greek word "amethystos," which means "not drunk."
In Christianity, amethyst has been associated with the twelve apostles, with each stone representing one apostle. It is also believed to symbolize the humility and purity of the Virgin Mary. In both Eastern and Western cultures, amethyst is considered a stone of spiritual enlightenment and is often used in meditation practices.
From a healing perspective, amethyst is believed to have a positive effect on the mind, body, and soul. It is said to promote emotional balance, relieve physical pain, and boost the immune system. Many crystal healers use amethyst to treat a variety of ailments, including headaches, insomnia, and addiction.
Amethyst - Famous Amethysts and Their Significance
There have been several well-known amethysts that have drawn attention from around the globe throughout history. These exquisite gemstones have not only showcased the beauty of amethyst but also carried significant historical and cultural value.
One notable amethyst is the "Delhi Purple Sapphire," which is not actually a sapphire but a large amethyst. This gemstone gained fame when it was presented to Queen Victoria in 1851 and is now part of the British Crown Jewels. Another famous amethyst is the "Crown of Saint Wenceslas," a ceremonial crown of the Bohemian kings, adorned with numerous amethysts.
Amethyst - How to Care for Your Amethyst Jewelry
To ensure that your amethyst jewelry stays in pristine condition, it's important to follow proper care and maintenance practices. Here are some tips to keep your amethyst pieces looking their best:
Avoid exposing your amethyst jewelry to harsh chemicals, such as cleaning agents or perfumes, as they can damage the gemstone.
Clean your amethyst jewelry regularly using mild soap and warm water. Gently scrub the gemstone with a soft brush to remove any dirt or oils.
Avoid exposing your amethyst to extreme temperatures, as sudden temperature changes can cause the gemstone to crack or fracture.
Store your amethyst jewelry in a soft cloth or jewelry box to prevent scratches or damage from other pieces.
Other February Birthstones - Bloodstone and Onyx
In addition to amethyst, February also has two alternative birthstones - bloodstone and onyx. These gemstones offer unique characteristics and benefits, making them excellent choices for those born in February.
Bloodstone - Characteristics and Benefits
Bloodstone, also known as heliotrope, is a dark green gemstone with distinctive red specks. It derives its name from the ancient belief that the stone had the power to stop bleeding. Let's explore the characteristics and benefits of bloodstones.
Bloodstone is a variety of chalcedony with a deep green color, often with red or brown spots. It is known for its opaque appearance and high durability, making it suitable for various jewelry applications. The red specks, known as "blood," are caused by iron oxide in the stone.
Metaphysically, bloodstones are believed to have grounding and protective properties. It is said to enhance courage, strength, and vitality, making it an ideal stone for those seeking empowerment and motivation. Bloodstone is also associated with purification and balancing the energy centers of the body.
Bloodstone - Historical Uses and Myths
Bloodstone has a long-standing history and has been valued for its protective and healing properties. In ancient times, it was often used as an amulet or talisman to ward off evil spirits and protect against physical harm. Warriors would carry bloodstone into battle, believing it could stop bleeding and provide strength and courage.
In addition to their protective qualities, bloodstones have been associated with fertility and abundance. It was believed to increase vitality and promote healthy blood circulation, hence its name. Bloodstone was also used in ancient Egypt for its supposed ability to bring rain during droughts.
Onyx - Characteristics and Benefits
