“IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL”
“When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.”

Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, oh take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above"

"All ye who seek a comfort sure
In trouble and distress,
Whatever sorrows vex the mind,
Or guilt the soul oppress,
Jesus, who gave Himself for you
Upon the cross to die,
Opens to you His sacred heart;
O to that heart draw nigh."
We are in the last days of the month of the Sacred Heart, my friends. Let us remember to console Him with our good works and little sacrifices for our Beloved who paid the ultimate Sacrifice for us. ❤️🔥

Working with the Wheel: Autumn Equinox, or Alban Elfed
We’ve reached the other balance point of the year, when we are moving from more day than night to more night than day. This is the start of astronomical autumn when, due to the tilt of Earth’s axis, the sun crosses the celestial equator moving south and so today has roughly1 equal amounts of day and night.
This is gateway to autumn proper, the end of the harvest time when – as well as giving…

While this war goes on, certain hymns (like "O Come, o Come, Emmanuel") will be .... awkward to sing.
For now I'm compromising by pronouncing every mention of "Israel" as "Iz-RYE-el" rather than "IZ-ray-ul". It differentiates the modern state from the people in the Bible and it just sounds cooler.

Why do Christian hymns have to hit so good?

“We’ll Understand It Better By And By”
“We are tossed and driv’n
On the restless sea of time;
Somber skies and howling tempests
Oft succeed a bright sunshine;
In that land of perfect day,
When the mists have rolled away,
We will understand it better by and by.
Refrain:
By and by, when the morning comes,
When the saints of God are gathered home,
We’ll tell the story how we’ve overcome,
For we’ll understand it better by and by.
We are often destitute
Of the things that life demands,
Want of food and want of shelter,
Thirsty hills and barren lands;
We are trusting in the Lord,
And according to God’s Word,
We will understand it better by and by.
Trials dark on every hand,
And we cannot understand
All the ways that God could lead us
To that blessèd promised land;
But He guides us with His eye,
And we’ll follow till we die,
For we’ll understand it better by and by.
Temptations, hidden snares
Often take us unawares,
And our hearts are made to bleed
For a thoughtless word or deed;
And we wonder why the test
When we try to do our best,
But we’ll understand it better by and by.”
—Charles A. Tindley, 1905

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought, by day or by night
