Single Review: Arden Cho – Clean (Hillsong UNITED Cover)
Arden Cho is a sensationally talented actress and musician, as well as a black belt in Judo to boot. Now I’ve talked about Cho before on the site and you are welcome to click here to read more reviews. But for those of you who don’t know who she is, I was first introduced to her when she starred on Teen Wolf as the Kitsune, Kira Yukimura. Which reminds me before I move on, I’ve also recently reviewed music from one of her Teen Wolf co-stars, Tyler Posey which you can check out here. But she’s also starred in Miss 2059, Chicago Med, and I am incredibly excited to see her performance as Ingrid Yun in the upcoming Netflix show, Partner Track (based on the novel of the same name by Helen Wan).
As I touched on above, she’s not just an actress but a musician, and I’ve covered her before, but today I will be reviewing her cover of ‘Clean’ by Hillsong UNITED, a Christian worship band formed in 1998 as part of the Youth Ministry of Hillsong Church.
‘Clean (Hillsong UNITED Cover)’ opens with big, flowing piano chords that support Cho’s beautiful voice, and as she carries on you are just carried away by her strong performance.
This is for all the Christians of the world if you're not interested in Christianity I give you permission to ignore this post <3
Okay so I've been leading worship for quite a few years. Something that never ceases to amaze me is the beauty people find in singing and dancing because of their love for the Lord. I'll be the first to admit that I've struggled hard with my faith, but despite any doubt or loss or loneliness I have experienced I always find solitude in worship, and it's not because I'm on stage, or I'm making a big show of prayer. It's because of the unity found in praise. I've talked to people who can't sing for the life of them but they do it anyway, and they are some of the most beautiful people, because any expectation of talent or skill is stripped away and they're left with raw appreciation and adoration in its place. And I strive for that. I strive to sing badly and dance hugely and scream and yell and ugly laugh and even uglier cry when I'm doing it for God.
And that's difficult. But it's needed. Because true freedom in God isn't always found in corporal worship, rather a childlike, uncertain, and uncensored love. Worship is an act of adoration and respect in any form, and it's not meant to be done "well," only honestly
Me and the boomers not singing during service because we cannot do the rock-y worship music :P bring back the hymns I know those :((( and the lyrics are cool!! And poetic!!
Worshiping in Spirit and Truth: Revisiting Instrumental Music in Worship
Worship practices have long been a topic of discussion within religious communities, often centering on whether instrumental music has a place in worship services. Advocates of instrumental music cite Psalms, particularly David’s words, as justification. However, delving into this matter from the lens of New Testament teachings reveals a different perspective worth exploring.
The assertion…
Christianity discerns that all of history hinges on it’s midpoint of the incarnation and birth, life and ministry, death and resurrection, and ascension and glorification of Jesus.
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for…
It’s Worship Song Saturday again everyone! This week’s song is one that I absolutely love, and it’s helped me through my darkest moments. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!
Saturday Worship: A Sabbath Stuck in Time or a Day of Divine Delight?
Early Christian practise saw a dramatic change as it transitioned from Sabbath observance to Lord’s Day observance. This blog examines the historical and theological aspects of this change, offering light on the discussions and interpretations around it.
Background information: The early Christian communities included both Jewish and Gentile believers, necessitating a close investigation of…
The Psalms is God's Hymnbook, if you are not singing Psalms you are not just missing out on the richness of God's Word in Worship, you are not worshipping God in a manner that pleases Him.
