Darcy Lewis Bingo Headquarters

Welcome, Fans of Darcy Lewis, to the new Headquarters of Darcy Lewis Bingo and Mini Bingo Challenges!

Here’s how this is going to work: rather than each future round of Darcy Lewis Bingo straddling half of a year, we’d like to start the next full bingo round on January 1st, but we know some of y’all just want to keep writing with prompts in the interim, so we came up with a way to do a kind of half-bingo, choose-your-own-adventure-style to finish out 2022 with some smaller scale bingo fun.

Darcy Lewis Mini Bingo Guidelines (Round 2022)

We’re starting with mini bingos. Four of them, to be exact.

A mini bingo is just the same as regular bingo, but played on a smaller card. Our mini bingo cards for this half-round will all use a 3x3 grid with 9 prompts each.

Four themed Darcy Lewis mini bingo cards will be available for the 2022 half-round:

- Dr. Darcy Lewis card: these cards will feature 9 classic Darcy Lewis quotes, popular fandom tropes and AUs, and some other fun space and MCU prompts that lend themselves well to the kind of year-round Darcy content we all love.

- Multiverse Madness, Create All the Darcys card: these cards will feature 9 alternate universe and non-canon prompts for you to use to create all your favorite multiverse Darcys.

- Darcy Lewis, Queen of Halloween card: these cards will feature 9 spooky (not horror!) prompts for you to use to create all your favorite, fun, spooky Darcy content just in time for Halloween.

- Darcy Lewis is Coming to Town card: these cards will feature 9 winter or holiday prompts. (Just specify on the sign-up form whether you’d prefer winter- or holiday-themed prompts and tell us which winter holiday. You’re in Australia and Christmas means going to the beach? Let us know and we’ll give you beach holiday prompts, if you like, instead. We’re happy to try to accommodate all reasonable requests.)

Note that there are NO free spaces on these mini bingo cards because they’re so small!

Creators may write or create as few or as many fics or pieces of artwork as you like for each prompt. This writing challenge and the prompts provided on each card are meant to inspire, never to stifle your creativity.

You are welcome to begin creating as soon as you receive your card.

Only one card per person per mini bingo theme will be issued at the start of each challenge. This means you may sign up for just one, or two, or three, or all four mini bingos in this half-round. The choice is yours. You may request a second mini card if you blackout your initial card for a themed mini bingo challenge before the round’s new card request end date.

There are no hard and fast deadlines for creations for this bingo except for when new cards may be requested, so you may take as long as you like to finish a card for any round or event.

As long as this bingo exists, old Darcy Lewis Bingo cards completed with new creations will be honored.

If you have a prompt (or prompts) from the previous bingo round that you’d still like to write, let us know so we can include one or more of those prompts from your previous bingo game card on your new card for the new round. (There will be a spot on the registration form, so have your old bingo card handy when you sign up.)

2022 half-round bingo cards may be requested all the way up to December 2022. (Signups are currently closed.)

You may swap up to 3 prompts on a 3x3 card upon receipt of a new card. Please email us at [email protected] to request and discuss prompt swaps (or simply reply to the email you received your card in from us).

Darcy Lewis Bingo Parties: Additional opportunities to swap prompts with other creators and to adopt prompts to replace prompts of your choice on your mini bingo card may be made available during occasional weekend bingo parties that will be announced in advance. See the Darcy Lewis Bingo Headquarters Discord server and the pop-up party channel there for more info on prompt swapping and adoptable prompt rules.

Bingo reward badges will be awarded for each mini bingo theme, so one creator may sign up for as many as four themed mini bingos (that’s 36 prompts!) and earn up to 4 bingo badges and 4 blackout badges, one for each mini bingo card. The ambitious among you are welcome to sign up for and try to collect the whole 2022 mini bingo reward badge set.

All works created for these mini bingo cards should be new or previously unpublished. You may add new chapters to old works, however. You may not use previously published chapters of existing works or previously posted one-shots or flashfics to fill the prompts on your new card.

You are not required to complete a longfic inspired by prompts from a single mini bingo card before this bingo half-round ends because there are no publication deadlines! (We do recommend you finish your longfic at some point, though. 😉)

Publishing Your Creations

Please include appropriate warnings when you publish your creations. Warning appropriately builds trust with your readers in the long term. Tagging accurately is important for this reason. If warnings are spoilers, put a warning in the tags that spoilers are in the end notes and then actually include the spoilers in the end notes. Tagging builds trust quickly and encourages readers to return to read more of your work. Trust us on this and tag like you want readers to return.

Tag @darcylewisbingohq in the A/N and use the tag #dlbingohq (all one word!) in the first five tags when posting your new creations on tumblr.

Post your fill in the #fic-fills, #other-fills, or #nsfw-fills channels on the Darcy Lewis Bingo Headquarters Discord.

Aesthetics, drabbles, one-shots, multichaptered fics, series, drawings, paintings, sculptures, social media AUs, gif edits, video edits, moodboards, coloring pages, and playlists are all accepted fills.

One square = one fic/artwork/creation. If you write a multi chapter fic, each chapter can be considered a fill using the same or different squares—if the chapters are posted separately. However, you may not combine two or more prompt squares from the same Darcy Lewis Mini Bingo card for one chapter or one-shot or single artistic creation.

All characters, ships, reader inserts, OC’s, actors, crossovers, and AUs are permitted as long as Darcy Lewis is a main character or part of a main pairing or polycule in your creation.

Your creations may include characters from other MCU movies or even other fandoms. Crossovers are welcome! Just remember it must include Darcy as a primary character to count as a prompt fill.

Hi Dear Me!

What a year! Last post done in the end of 2022. Let's summarise!

Moving abroad.

Well, I knew that it wouldn't happen. I didn't even want that. I guess I was trying to convince myself that it is a good solution and time to run from Poland, but deep in my hear I just knew. In the end the main reason was that we did not find a proper flat due to be expats. Also we couldn't take our cats. Everything with that idea was a mess and I completely forgot about it a little later.

Job change!

New opprtunity to develop in a strong worldwide company and great salary (60% rise). Am I dreaming?

Mess in my head.

In the beginning of May, I am not sure, I started therapy. I could not bare anymore panic attacks and feeling just like a trash. I felt responsible for every fucking misfortune. May long weekend we spent in Greece, Corfu. Only because I had a really high pressure that I need to go somewhere. It's been 6 months of staying at home, it is unacceptable! But the weather was bad - half of the stay heavy rain, and if not - almost all the time fully cloudy. It affected the whole experience. And I was utterly sure that it is my fault. Also we spent sooo much money for that trip only because it was in a desirable date. We were arguing, I was depressed and annoying, everything went awful. At least in my head.

During the therapy I learnt to think and see myself and the world differently. My therapist made me aware that the wather is not under my control and that I forgot about everything good - like the fact that I am a great planner when it comes to the sightseeing or renting a car.

New job is going worse and worse...

New dream job turned out to be a disaster I hate. I realised that it is not me. It a imagined me, extravert, confident and proud. I had to go on a official trip to Germany, I felt there lost, I did not understand a thing, everyting was so confusing. I did not receive any onboarding, any explanation, any introduction. Only more and more calls and upcoming requirements. I started stressing me and I felt so stupid. A job that I couldn't tell a word about. But my holiday were soon I stopped caring at leat in the summer.

I am a fiancee!

The 10 days in Zakynthos, Greece, were my best holidays ever. Everything finally went perfect. PERFECT. The hotel, food, sea, beach, trips, views. It overcome my expectations. Best holiday ever! And the main point was that my partner gave me a ring, so I finally after almost 8 years changed my status from girlfriend to fiancee.

Come back to the old job.

After holiday I realised I need to run from my "dream new job". Quickly. Somewhow my previous company took me back. Of course not too easily - I went great during the interviews, but to punish me for leaving they lowered my salary in comparison to the other people in the team. And there is nothing I can do about it. And it is really fucking annoying. I am not progressing with my salary due to the high inflantion for the past 2-3 years.

After job change I started again to have panic attacks and issues with myself. Unfortunately my therapy had to end in July because the owner of the medical center decided to close it... But I learnt back then a lot. I just need to remember to follow the rules.

2023.

Some points about 2023.

I got engaged. It means that I am important in this big world.

I had a short adventure in another company that allowed me to pay off the car, go to therapy, buy a computer, and benefit fully from the holiday. I quitt because it was the best choice for my mental health and money wasn't worth it.

I realised I do not need social media to live. I feel better without the knowledge what everyone is doing! If it is something interesting, they will tell you.

I realised that life is not about building it the same as other people. You choose. You have your own, special priorities. You have your own plan.

Me is the most important (of course besides my fiance). I live only for myself, I do not have to fit in, drink alcohol or enjoy the same stuff. Big NO.

Health is the biggest value. Doing overtime, skipping lunch breaks, trying be always the best IS NOT WORTH YOUR HEALTH. Both, physical and mental!

Life is about living, so close this virtual blog for today. :)

Now that the holidays are over, many of us are thinking about how to get through the winter blues (and what to do about it). A vacation, especially to a warm place is one way to escape winter cold and stresses of everyday life.

According to this article https://bit.ly/3WYwv2A when it comes to places to get away to in the United States, Florida is the most popular state for a vacation. It says, “the research analyzed Google searches for each US state on vacation packages, rentals, and spots, to see which states were most popular for a vacation.” And, when it comes to where in Florida, what probably comes mind…Disney theme parks.

What is it about Disney that makes it such a popular destination both for those who travel by plane or car, as well as the armchair traveler? Is it the music, the rides, performances, shopping, the characters that make it “The Happiest Place on Earth?” Or perhaps it is the variety of food and culinary creations that people crave?

There are dozens of books published dedicated to Disney vacations and Disney cuisine. Ashley Craft, author of these “unofficial” books: “The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook: From Delicious Dole Whip to Tasty Mickey Pretzels” (2020, Adams Media, $21.99); “The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book: From LeFou’s Brew to the Jedi Mind Trick” (2021, Adams Media, $22.99); and “The Unofficial Disney Parks Epcot Cookbook: From School Bread in Norway to Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches in France” (2022, Adams Media, $21.99) said, “Life gets busier every year, and as much as I’d love to, taking a trip to California or Florida every few months just isn’t feasible for me now. And it really isn’t for the average family either. Whether you visit Disney Parks every year, you’ve been once or twice before, or you’re still planning that first magical trip, these books were created to help you transform your own kitchen into a world Walt Disney himself would be proud of.”

Jesse Ashlock of Conde Nast Traveler https://bit.ly/3jKnCuW, wrote, “It is important to remember that travel is also a state of mind. And that you don’t have to go far away to feel far away.” The article listed 101 ways to travel without leaving your house. One category, “Bring the World to your Kitchen” lists several food-related ways including “allowing yourself to pine for dishes you miss—then try your best to recreate them.” This is what Craft accomplishes in her books.

I had the opportunity to interview Craft, and asked her:

• Why did you choose these specific recipes for your books?

I did a lot of research into what are the most popular dishes served at each park and at each dining location. This included in-person experience, asking cast members lots of questions, speaking with people, as well as online research and seeing what foods people are most excited about.

• How did you come up with these recipes and how did you test them to make sure they are like the “real” thing.?

I have a whole process that starts with tasting the food item in the park, taking notes and photos, and studying menus, and then take that information into my kitchen where I try many iterations of the dish until I get it right! Then it’s written up and polished before sending it to the publisher for edits.

• What is your favorite recipe from each of the books?

• How would you compare your book and recipes with the “official” cookbooks?

I think the “Official” cookbooks are really well made and I love the photographs and high-quality design. However, I have always felt that their recipe selection is not on the pulse of the average guest. Many of their choices include hard-to-make dishes or obscure seasonal items that people may or may not have heard of.

These books are perfect for Disney fans everywhere who want to experience those familiar flavors right from the comfort of home. Ashley Craft’s books have the recipes you’ll need to make luscious dishes worthy of Mickey himself. You’ll feel like you are strolling down the famous Main Street USA, munching corn dog nuggets, sipping Dole Whip or savoring the international cuisine of the pavilions at EPCOT …all without leaving your kitchen. Get cooking some favorites with the recipes below.

For those who want to know the ins and outs of making a Disney vacation, these books will become your go -tos: “The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2023” by Bob Sehlinger and Len Testa (2023, AdventureKeen,$26.99) and “The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kids 2023”, by   Bob Sehlinger, Liliane J. Opsomer, and Len Testa  (2023, AdventureKeen, $22.99) It is important to know why “unofficial.” The authors wrote, ‘the books provide honest and outspoken advice from unofficial experts. The authors and researchers of the guides declare that they are and always have been totally independent of the Walt Disney Company.  The authors believe in the wondrous variety, joy, and excitement of the Walt Disney attractions. At the same time, we recognize that Walt Disney is a business.”

They said, “In these guides, we represent and serve you, the customer. If a restaurant serves bad food, a gift item is over-priced, or a certain ride isn’t worth the wait, we can say so, and in the process, we hope to make your visit more fun, efficient, and economical.” Simply put, you will have unbiased opinions. A panel of kids assisted the authors in writing the latter title. The books share opinions of experienced Disney World visitors (based on survey data from 500,000+ families.) The chapters on dining include where to eat both in and outside the park, providing in-depth details. I particularly found the chapter on how to evaluate a Walt Disney World Travel Package quite helpful. It tells what to look out for and to read the descriptions very carefully.  Comprising more than 40 square miles, the plethora of maps and touring plans will help navigate the massive complex.

Of course, you’ll want to know about The Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A chapter is devoted to each to assist in making the most of your visit. I went to Disney World many years ago and after reading these books made me think about a return visit. There’s always something new to explore at “The World.”

Corn Dog Nuggets

Served at Main Street, U.S.A., Magic Kingdom

The headnote says, “If you have the weird sensation of being more kid-sized while on Main Street, U.S.A., you’re not crazy. It’s a tactic called “forced perspective.” The buildings actually get smaller at the tops, making the viewer feel little and the buildings feel even bigger. Eating kid-food staples like these Corn Dog Nuggets has the same effect of transporting you back to childhood. Pair with your favorite dipping sauces and enjoy as either a snack or part of a full meal.”

4 cups vegetable oil for frying

16 beef hot dogs, cut crosswise into thirds

1 cup yellow cornmeal

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 ¼ cups whole milk ½ cup granulated sugar

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

4 teaspoons baking powder

1 large egg

In a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil. It should measure to a depth of about 3″. Heat until oil reaches 350 degrees. Line a large plate with paper towels and set aside.

Pat hot dog pieces dry with a paper towel.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, add remaining ingredients. Using the flat beater attachment, beat until well combined.

Working with one hot dog piece at a time, dunk into batter and carefully place into hot oil. You can fry up to five hot dog pieces at one time. Allow to cook about 2 minutes, making sure to cook all sides evenly, until golden brown.

Remove to lined plate. Repeat with remaining hot dog pieces. Serves 10.

Bam Bam Shake

The headnote says, “Black Tap is known for its over-the-top CrazyShakes, and this one is no exception. The original Fruity Pebbles cereal had the Flintstones as its mascots. Since this shake has Fruity Pebbles on the inside and outside, what name could be a better throwback to the family that started it all in the Stone Age?”

For Fruity Pebbles Bars

1 (10-ounce) bag mini marshmallows

3 tablespoons salted butter

3 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal

3 cups crisp rice cereal

1 cup powdered sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

1 ½ tablespoons whole milk

For Shake

½ cup Fruity Pebbles cereal

3 cups vanilla ice cream

¼ cup whole milk

For Topping

2 tablespoons vanilla frosting

½ cup Fruity Pebbles cereal, divided

½ cup whipped cream

½ untoasted strawberry Pop-Tart

1 Laffy Taffy candy

1 maraschino cherry

To make Fruity Pebbles Bars: Line a 9″ × 13″ cake pan with parchment paper. Combine marshmallows and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high 2 minutes. Stir, then microwave an additional 1 minute. Stir well. Add Fruity Pebbles cereal and rice cereal and stir well. Scrape into prepared pan and flatten with a greased spatula. Allow to set 2 hours at room temperature.

Once set, cut into 2″ × 4″ bars. Place sugar, vanilla, and milk in a small dish and mix well. Use a spoon to drizzle icing over bars. Allow to set 30 minutes at room temperature.

To make Shake: Pour Fruity Pebbles cereal into a blender and pulse until consistency is a fine powder. Add ice cream and milk to blender and blend until smooth. Set aside.

To assemble: Coat top outer 1″ of a tall milkshake glass in vanilla frosting and press 1⁄4 cup Fruity Pebbles cereal into frosting. Pour milkshake into prepared glass. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle on remaining 1⁄4 cup Fruity Pebbles. Place one Fruity Pebbles Bar, Pop-Tart, and Laffy Taffy in glass. Garnish with maraschino cherry. Serves 1.

Served at Epcot’s Refreshment Port, Canada Pavilion

The headnote says, “It’s not a typo: This drink does include stalks of celery, chicken nuggets, cheese- stuffed olives, and cherry tomatoes. It is like a whole buffet of bar snacks right in your drink! It is basically a Bloody Mary that decided to “Stow Away” with everything on the bar top. So if you are getting a hankering for a drink and a snack in the middle of the day, you know what to make.”

8 ounces tomato juice 6 dashes Tabasco sauce

4 dashes Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon horseradish

½ teaspoon celery salt

½ teaspoon ground black pepper ¼ teaspoon salt 4 ounces vodka 1 ounce lime juice 4 blue cheese-stuffed olives 2 cherry tomatoes 2 stalks celery 4 small, cooked chicken nuggets

Add tomato juice, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, celery salt, pepper, and salt to a sealable container. Stir, then refrigerate overnight.

Add 2 ounces vodka and ½ ounce lime juice to each of two plastic cups. Top with ice, then gently stir in refrigerated tomato juice mixture.

Skewer an olive followed by a cherry tomato and another olive, rest across top of cup. Skewer the top half of each celery stalk. Put 2 chicken nuggets onto each celery skewer. Place celery garnishes in cups. Add a straw and enjoy. Serves 2.

Make It a Mocktail: Simply leave out the vodka and follow the recipe as written.

Day 358: Saturday December 24, 2022 - “Christmas Eve Fire”

I sat back and relaxed, thinking about the grandness of the scheme.  It was Christmas Eve again, and I stretched my legs in front of a fire like I did back on Rialto Beach 11 years ago.  Tis the season for Nostalgia.  I was blessed with a quiet reflective Christmas Eve this year, at least while William slept.  On my own, as Audrie is out fighting winter storms and holiday air-traffic somewhere between me and Milwaukee. I kept returning to the thought “I used to do Christmas Eve’s all the time!” And of course it got me thinking of that cold one in 2012 that sparked me to go “home.”  But how the year before that, you were really something out there.  And just like that, two separate reflections of a man twisted up in story.  About the one, on fire for life, set out in the dark for truly his first Christmas on his own, at 30.  Eating Chocolate covered cherries, reading about Living A Great Story to the waves - one of the best fires and nights and Christmas’ of my life.  And how that man, much too old to know it all anymore, couldn’t have imagined the life of the other; now smoking a cigar instead of slurping chocolate covered cherries, with Live A Great Story around his wrist, working oh so hard this winter to figure that out.  One in the cold ocean darkness, the other in the warm desert in his slippers and in his backyard.    One dreaming of a wide open road, the other incredibly grateful for how it all played out, wondering if this is as good as it gets.  I imagined these two reflections of my Christmas Eve selves sitting here around the same fire, and what would be shared....

From Present Day Dad Jake 2022 to Aesthetic Cowboy 2011 Jake:

“Yea, the logs here are store bought, but don’t worry - Im ok with that.  I earned it, I suppose. Dont need to go collect my own wood anymore, as unadventurous as that might sound to you...  I can always say that I did the things I wanted to do, thanks to you...and this is what I want to do now.  Turns out, being a Dad is the hardest job of my life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything....not even to be sitting in your sand. I appreciate these responsibilities, especially on Christmas Eve.  Its different challenges, but Audrie was really on it when she said “life rewards all the time” - this juice was definitely worth the squeeze...

“whats that?   who is Audrie - ah you caught the pepper in my eye when I brought her up?  Yea, she will be your wife, partner, your captain.  The best thing that will ever happen for you.   Turns out, shes your “For What?” Just keep exploring and adventuring, and build your resume up, and don’t be afraid to break-out and go for it when the opportunities come around.  Its the only way you’ll have a shot with a woman like this.  Because of you, I have a shot at never having a lonely holiday ever again.  See, Im not really alone, like you, this Christmas Eve.  While she’s not here, I know she is out there.  I always felt you need faith for the same reason its so hard to find.  Just knowing every day I get the opportunity to choose her again, gives me the best and only adventure I’ll ever need.  To share a life, thats what its all about.  Alex taught you that right?  (By the way, you give your son Alexander as a middle name for just this exact reason.  Wink - I got you man).

“by the way, next year - you wont get a fire out there...and you’ll be frustrated.  You’ll throw your lighter into the ocean, just before you realize you’d need that to make dinner.   I suppose the anxiety in your bones was settling in, and it wasn’t a calm Christmas for you, and you really struggle with that not going as planned. You’ll be ok.  You’ll always be ok.  You just need to start telling your self that more.   There will be some bummers along the way but it all served a very important purpose; find the blessing in the bummer, and remember that as long as you have a drum in that sea-turtle heart, there is a chance to find what has been so desperately sought.  Yes, Im still looking for it, all this time later.  And thats ok.   Im more comfortable with that now, than ever. That bummer Christmas fire of 2012...its the reason you are where you are today.  Its a beautiful story. You’re a good character.  Give yourself some credit - you’ve earned it, I suppose.  Don’t know how it turns out, that story.  Still figuring out the ending.  I have some ideas and some experience.  I have everything I need, now.

“Nice fire with your store bought logs... ;)  I cant imagine ever having a fire with store bought logs again now that I am figuring out this ‘life’.  But cheers to you, you do you, you look comfy in your slippers.  No way they are as comfortable as my ole oppossums here, remember these?  Might as well been made of gold - they unlocked a way of being and seeing to you, didnt they?!   Remember those days?  On Yellow Aster and Oyster Dome, and down in the Grand Canyon?  Neat that you settled in Arizona, of all the places - how the hell did that happen?!  And a mortgage?!  I thought we said we would NEVER do that? Must be a good story to tell in here somewhere...or you forgot about ALL of the Rules.   When we talked about your future being behind you, I really didn’t see Tucson in the cards.  That desert Red Rock must really be something.  

“Hey - did we ever write that book?   Aw man - “life got in the way” you say?   Wasn’t it always going to be all about life?  Tell me about that - lets get into it.   10 years from now - whats good?  Whats the meaning of life?  What are your intentions?  Do you still do those and pay attention?  What are your plans?  How are you crafting the life of your dreams?  Look at me - Im sitting here with a perfect driftwood fire in the salty air next to the Pacific Ocean - it can’t get any better right?  Please tell me Im not right.  No finish lines, remember.  So whats next, Daddio?   What will next year write? Ah - nevermind, no don’t tell me, show me instead!  This reflection of your self is hopeful.  Forgiving.  Calm and easier.   Do something with it.  Find your greatness.  Follow Through.  Get on fire for life, for you, for Audrie, and for your family.  Have a big year.  Cast a Vision.  You know the way.  That old cowboy spark - its still in you.  I mean just look how comfortable you are alone on Christmas Eve after all.  You’re closer to your best than you’ve been in a long while.  You can have both of these reflections.  We can share this same space.  Dad, Cowboy, Romantic Seeker, Curious, Responsible, Intentional.   How about you try to be all these things and see where that takes you next?   See what kind of story that writes for itself.  you earned it, I suppose!

I didn’t need to look up what was song of the day back then in 2011 -  I remembered it well.   About being in the belly of the whale and the adventure of having Mother Nature abruptly kick me out of her house on Christmas. There is some credit to be given to waking up cold in a tent on Christmas Morning.  It defies the nostalgic marketed comforts of Christmas we’re raised on and live by this time of year.  And the hope is that these excursions harden for times when you’ll only have your self to count on.  the first step you’ll take out of the belly of the whale, will be in the right direction.  Its really no different now as it was then.

Later in the night, William would wake with loud painful mad sad angry crying, as if somehow he did know that today was Christmas Eve and mama wasn’t here.  It took a lot of work to stay grounded and skillful.   At its height, as I was about to get really frustrated, I opened the spotify on the phone and quickly just played the last song I had searched for “Scott Orr - In The Belly of The Whale” - as it came on, his wailing turned into little wimpers, then to little breathing cries, before deep sleep breathing....before the song was over.  “I dont mean to be good, I just mean to be whole” - in the belly of the whale. I kissed his cheek and whispered “Merry Christmas” in his ear and told him his mama and dada love him.  I give it all to you.

A Look At December 2022

December is normally a time where we are seeking out those genuine and authentic connections.  People appreciate being around those where they can just be themselves.  It is a good time for being a little bit adventurous; and naturally favors getting experiences.  It is about enjoying the time that we spend doing things and with others; and there is less concern with material things.

This year December has a strongly introspective tone to it.  People may be wanting to spend more time on their own than with others this year.  They have a natural tendency to prefer quiet settings and peaceful surroundings than busy and noisy spaces.  Overall, people will be kind; but there is a very strong desire to feel the “spirit” of the season.  There is a desire and longing to experience unconditional love.  Gatherings may be smaller than normal this year

Things may feel stagnant or be on hold in some way.  This is actually a positive thing, because it is the soul’s way of calling us to just be centered into our heart and the true beauty of the season.  This is a time for doing things just because they are kind and good to do.  It is a time of genuine giving, and not expecting anything in return.

Most people will be in a generous and giving space.  It will be a great time to be a part of humanitarian efforts, and to help those that are less fortunate.  This year, instead of lavish holiday parties we are likely to benefit far more by gathering people together and going to work in a soup kitchen, delivering meals and blankets and clothing to the homeless, caroling at a nursing home, helping to rescue animals, or any other numerous things that help to benefit life on this planet.

It is important to celebrate any successes that are coming through, and to plant the seeds of things that you want to see become successful.  Celebrations and gatherings that are smaller, community based, or where you connect with friends in gentle social get togethers work out well.  They will be best where everyone contributes, but still allows those that are unable to bring or do something to participate and be welcomed.  These are best kept simple and relaxed.  It is more about relaxing and enjoying yourself after a period of work than anything else.

From December 1st – December 22nd relationships and partnerships are highlighted; and we are likely to find out which ones are strong and true, and which ones are not.  Relationships may be tested, as others may try to compete for what we have.  There are those that look to validate themselves through beating others in some way.  We may feel as if possibilities get taken away from us; but this can only happen if we have not done anything to provide for the future.  We may even see conflict or competition between those in the relationship; and you have to decide if you can set that aside, because if you cannot resolve things or let them go then your relationship may not be strong enough to last.

Extra caution must be given to any traveling that is done during this time; and if it can be avoided that will be best.  We may see more than normal accidents that are a result of things that people had no control over; or that resulted from not paying attention more to what was happening.  Sadly, these can turn deadly.  This is a period of major shifts and changes; and that can leave people exhausted and worn out more than normal.  These will be hard lessons to learn, if they happen; and are likely to have an impact on the rest of our life, or will greatly influence the way that we are living our life, and what we are choosing for our future.

This can be a great time to work with a mentor; and to focus on your own ideas and plans.  It is important to get experiences, especially transformational ones; but it is also important to learn from others and the experiences that they have been through.  Look to the breakthroughs in your own life and the lives of others to give you inspiration and guidance in how to bring your own plans forward in a way that will be successful.  This time shows a sharp mind and favors learning new things.  It also strongly favors learning how to become a source of inspiration and wisdom for others.

There is no doubt that this can be a time of learning things the hard way; but it is likely that these will still be incredibly valuable and powerful experiences in our life.  New relationships can form out of old ones ending; and even our hardships and struggles can connect us with people that we may not have met otherwise.  At the core of it all is how we treat others, and whether we have learned to give and help for the sake of doing something good and kind; or whether we are still too selfish and focused on what we will receive for the things that we do.  It comes down to whether you will think only of yourself; or whether you have enough love to give to others too.

From December 22nd through the end of the month, the abundance, kindness, and generosity energy in the main part of the month becomes magnified.  It is a time to really focus on how much we have to be grateful for; and to realize that even small amounts of help can change someone’s life.  Remember that when we help someone in need who is trying to help themselves; both the giver and the recipient are blessed.  This is the time to rescue an animal that wouldn’t have a chance otherwise, instead of going through breeders.  The life that receives a helping hand in times of need, is one that is changed forever.

During this time our mind is not clear; and it is best to set aside things that require strong focus and thinking, and to avoid signing contracts.  It is a time where our intuition and other additional senses are strong; and so, we want to listen to the dreams, messages, and signs that are being presented to us.  Dreams are likely to be very strong during this time.  It is a great time to sit in daydreams, and consider what direction you would like things to go in your life.  You may find that you are dreaming of a life that is simpler, more authentic, and allows you to not be as tied to so many “modern” things like electronics.  It can be an excellent time to do a personal retreat.

The mind will do well, simply being in observation or pondering things from a more philosophical perspective.  It is likely that there will be little to no desire to be involved in anyone else’s drama; and it will be best to stay on neutral ground.  Take time to enjoy indulging in some esoteric thinking; or simply just let your mind drift into anything that comes through.  Even the mundane can seem to have profound connections to it right now.

Even though this is not a highly active time, it is a time where recognition and advancements can come through.  It is a time where we may be able to solve the things that have been puzzling to us.  Successes that are coming through at this time; are most likely the result of where we have been operating with integrity and stood strong in creating quality work, instead of simply doing things to get them done.  They are a direct result of our own efforts and hard work.

In Summary, seek out authentic and genuine connections.  Center into your heart and the true beauty of the season.  Do things that are humanitarian over lavish parties.  Celebrate successes and gather with others in ways where everyone is contributing.  Cherish the strong relationships in your life; and realize that you will never have to compete for a true relationship.  Use extra caution when traveling, and minimize it wherever possible.

Look to breakthrough experiences in your life, and those others have had, to give you inspiration and guidance with your own plans.  Embrace relationships that emerge through hardships and struggles.  Focus on what you have to be grateful for.  Pay attention to what your dreams are sharing with you.  Honor time for yourself.  Be willing to sit and observe things.  Allow solutions to come naturally to you.

I welcome you to take time to be in quiet and peaceful settings.  What if this is where the magic and “spirit” of the season is?

I welcome you to engage in humanitarian activities.  What if doing something to help others, turns out to be more fun and meaningful than having a big party?

I welcome you to gather with others in ways where everyone contributes something.  What if this adds value and worth to everyone?

I welcome you to realize that even if you have to work for things that are worth having; you will not have to fight for them.  What if competitions reduce the value of what you are competing over?

I welcome you to know your limits, and don’t try to drive when you are tired, stressed, emotional, and under time pressures.  What if honoring this can save a life, and make the difference between a favorable or unfavorable future for you?

I welcome you to let the breakthroughs in your life and the lives of others be an inspiration for you.  What if these are the experiences that add true value to your life?

I welcome you to be open to relationships that emerge out of challenges and hardships.  What if these are the ones that are likely to stand by us through good times and bad?

I welcome you to honor time for your own processes.  What if this is especially important when you need to clear your mind, and are learning what is truly important to you?

What To Focus Our Actions On

This month our actions boost the energy of the month, calling us to focus on things with a humanitarian aspect for them.  It is calling us to consider how our actions are impacting the lives of others; and to take the time to do what we can to help others who are in need.  Part of abundance energy, is realizing that we always have enough to share; and through true sharing from the heart, we are always generating enough to take care of ourselves.  It is a cycle that nourishes us and others in many ways.  This is not about enabling freeloaders; but about giving hope to those that are trying as hard as they can, and still coming up short.

During this month, what has been elusive rises to the surface.  This allows us to see things clearly, and to understand the truth of things in our life.  It is a time where we can see who is walking in integrity; and who is simply playing us for a fool.  This will be particularly clear in relationships and partnerships; and this calls us to take the appropriate action, and end things with those that cannot respect us and do not work in integrity with us.

People are looking to compete with others right now; and this serves no one.  It is important to realize that there is no solid partnership where there is competition either within it, or where it encourages it from others.  People that want you to win them, are not truly invested in the relationship; and are not there for you.  They are rooted in arrogance and a superficial ego, that only wants to be glorified.  They want to be prized, but are not willing to give to the relationship.

Success comes where we are willing to have the patience to do things with integrity, quality, and in Divine Alignment.  If you are stuck with something, then see where it has strayed from being something that your heart and soul is in; to becoming nothing more than a task that you are trying to get through.  It is important to follow through on obligations and responsibilities; and a great amount can be accomplished at this time.  However, it is important to staying true to doing things as they work for you; and not just allowing others to convince you to do things a certain way.

Right now, we need to realize that others will be jealous of our successes; especially if those people are rooted in materialism.  These are the people that are most likely to try to engage you in battle and competition and create turbulence.  These are the people that seek to tear you down, so that they can try to feel better about themselves.  It is important that you do not let them cut you out of what is rightfully yours.  This does not need to be a battle; just you standing up for yourself, and standing strong in how you will and will not be treated.

I welcome you to consider how your actions impact the lives of others; and what you can do for those in need.  What if there is always enough to help those that are strongly trying to help themselves?

I welcome you to end things with those that do not respect you and are playing you for a fool.  What if these are the connections that are a detriment to you; and who cannot be trusted?

I welcome you to realize that if someone wants you to compete for them, then they are not truly invested in a relationship with you.  What if they only care about being glorified; but are unwilling to give to the relationship?

I welcome you to have patience and do things with integrity, quality, and Divine Alignment.  What if all you need to do is to bring your heart and soul back into what you are doing?

I welcome you to stand up for what is rightfully yours.  What if this is about standing strong in how you will and will not be treated; and can be done without turning into a battle?

What To Focus Our Thoughts On

From December 1st – December 6th we are called to pay attention to any rebellion energy that is surfacing for us.  We may find that we feel pushed to our limits, and have had enough with others trying to tell us what to do and how to do it.  This is most likely to happen where we are “outgrowing” a person, relationship, or situation.  Major transformation is happening right now; and patience and tolerance are not as strong as normal.  People are personally at the edge of a breakdown; and simply trying to hang on until they can make a breakthrough.

It is important to let our past experiences teach us what is needed now.  Anger, exhaustion, and frustration can be a lethal combination.  It is just the recipe for accidents to happen through a lack of attention.  It is important that we look to our past to know what has helped us get through tough times in the past.  In addition, any sense of failing or having plans defeated may be magnified due to past experiences.  The key is to not force a certain direction or result; but to simply allow things to transform, and to allow ourselves to step out of what is no longer serving us.

This can be a great time to draw on the wisdom and advice of a mentor, or someone that has gone through things that are similar to what you are going through.  This can be very helpful; since how you handle things will directly impact how things work out in your future.  Take time to see what will provide you with stability and will be favorable for you, not only today; but for many years to come.  It is like looking at a house that you plan to live in for most of your life.  At 50 steps might not be an issue; and living in a multiple story house can seem appealing.  However, at 60 or 70 those steps could be more than what your body can handle, even with good care to your health.  A little foresight can go a long way to supporting lasting joy.

From December 7th through the end of the month, it is very important that we think about how we are using our power; and especially the power of our mind.  This can be a great time to take some risks or chances in things; the key is to know the difference between calculated risks and wise chances, and simply gambling on things for the thrill of it.  Doing the first can bring some great payoffs; while doing the latter can create major losses.  Abundance is naturally flowing; and that can trigger others to engage in mental warfare and psychological games with us.  Those that are rooted in materialism are likely to be jealous of your successes, and want everything for themselves.

It is one thing to share; and another thing to enable people in material greed and manipulative behavior.  Those that want you to give your share to them, are not in need; and in many ways may be far better off than you.  They are likely to claim to be a victim; and turn the tables saying that you are the one trying to cheat them out of things.  These people are nothing more than master manipulators, who are lost in materialism, and are disconnected from their true worth.  They have yet to learn what true abundance is, or the value of actually working for what they receive.

Relationships will also be gently in the picture during this time.  It is important to acknowledge and appreciate those that stand by you, and support you in making successes in your life.  These are the people that are truly valuable to have in your life; because they tell things to you straight as they are.  They will let you know when you are off course; and they will be your biggest fans when you are on course.  They work with you, and walk at your side.  They value what you have to give, and they give value back to you.

I welcome you to let go of people and things that you have outgrown.  What if not everyone and everything is meant to be with you your entire life?

I welcome you to realize how anger, exhaustion, and frustration are a lethal combination.  What if these are the emotions that make you less attentive to what is happening; and puts you at higher risk for having an accident?

I welcome you to consider what is not only appealing to you today; but will support you for many years to come.  What if this is an opportunity to work with the wisdom of foresight, instead of being caught looking at things in hindsight?

I welcome you to realize the power of your mind; and to consider how your thoughts are one of the ways that you use your power wisely or unwisely.  What if an abundance mindset allows you to take favorable risks; instead of just gambling on things for the thrill of it?

I welcome you to stop enabling those who operate in material greed and manipulative behavior.  What if they are not the victim that they claim to be?

I welcome you to know who is truly valuable to have in your life.  What if these are the people that value what you have to give, and give value back to you?

Connecting To Our Soul Self

From December 1st – December 10th materialism is running high.  Those that are standing strong with God and the Soul Self may feel as if they are under constant spiritual attack, and it may feel as if they are being torn down at their very core.  The stronger someone is in Divine Alignment, the harsher this may feel to them.  The world feels heartless, uncaring, and lacking in compassion; and in some ways this is very true.

You may find that you do best to give yourself some healthy indulgences; and make certain that you are not trying to deprive yourself totally, because you are sick of the materialism.  Healthy indulgences, and taking time for being fully in our Soul Self; help to provide balance when having to deal with those that are strongly in materialism.  It can also help us to soften how intense the materialism patterns are with others.  It is important to stand up for yourself, and stand strong in the Soul Self; regardless of the behavior of others.

This is a great time to focus on the obligations and responsibilities that you have.  Remember, that one of your biggest one’s is to holding Divine Presence.  It is to handling the things that need to get done, with grace and in a way that you can also stay true to yourself.  In some ways, this can also be a great alternative to being around those that are operating in heavily materialistic patterns.  During this time, people may try to manipulate you and tell you how things need to be done; but keep in mind they are likely to be coming from a space of what society or programming says needs to be done.  You can listen, but do not feel obligated to integrate anything that does not resonate for you.

From December 11th through the end of the month, we may find ourselves feeling some stress and anxiety.  There are two key areas that we find this.  The first is where things are stagnant; and we don’t understand why.  It is important that we take the time to consider where they are not in alignment with being in Divine Service and true giving.  We need to honor taking the time to get back in touch with what we feel our “mission” or “purpose” is; and don’t just go through the motions on things.  It is about getting reconnected with a desire to truly do something “good” in the world.

The second is where there are lies, deceit, and manipulation happening.  If you are feeling anxious around others, in certain situations, or certain places; then it is likely that there is more than meets the eye.  It is likely that things are not as they seem; and extra caution is needed.  Hold your cards close, as the saying goes.  Knowing the truth of things may not be pretty; but it is likely to still be quite valuable for you, and can even have an impact on the choices that you make at this time.

During this time, we may do better on our own; than with others.  It is a time, that our soul needs to live like a free spirit; and so, it is best that we lighten up our schedules, and take the time to explore new places and things.  It is worth taking the time to not be structured by time; but to simply flow with where we are feeling moved to be and honor what our heart is calling us to do.  This is an opportunity to be adventurous; and to get out and experience life with your whole being.  Stop tasking, and start living.

Welcome to Hogwarts Legacy.

You’re a new student at the famed school of witchcraft and wizardry with a unique ability to manipulate powerful ancient magic hidden in the wizarding world. You’ll need to uncover what’s behind the return of this forgotten magic and who is seeking to harness it to destroy wizardkind—as you may be the one that decides the fate of the entire wizarding world. But before you can study magic and begin to solve these mysteries, you must create the witch or wizard you want to be.

When you arrive at Hogwarts, you will be sorted into one of the four Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin. After you settle into your dormitory, you will meet up with your housemates in the common room. You will then need to attend classes, and you do have some catching up to do, as you are starting at Hogwarts late as a fifth year.

Life at Hogwarts

You’ll begin your studies attending Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, and Potions classes—to name a few.

Here you’ll meet your professors and learn to cast spells, grow magical plants, brew potions and more. In between classes you’ll be able to explore the castle famous for its secrets, enchantments and mysteries. You’ll discover dungeons and secret passageways, as well as challenging puzzles that will require magical skill and a clever mind to solve. You may even find yourself in iconic locations you’ve never been able to explore before.

It’s the late 1800s, so while the common rooms and classes may be familiar, most of your professors will not be. However, you may recognize a few faces.

You’ll come to know this eclectic group of talented witches and wizards in class and while completing side assignments that are part of a special curriculum—one designed to help you catch up with the other fifth-years at your own speed.

Opportunities for adventure abound in the area surrounding Hogwarts. The magical abilities you learn to master through your schoolwork will soon become tested, as you unravel a dangerous mystery by working alongside the accomplished and yet enigmatic Professor Fig to try and discover if the rumors of a mounting Goblin rebellion hold any weight—and if the safety of Hogwarts lies in the balance.

The Wizarding World of this era is fraught with dangers: creatures corrupted by a magical force, powerful goblins, and sinister witches and wizards, all willing to fight—even kill—to achieve their own goals. In fact, there’s an uneasy alliance between the Goblins and Dark Wizards…

Enemies possess unique defensive and offensive abilities, including Blasting Curses, Stunning Spells, enchanted weaponry, and more. While some may attack directly, others might enchant and incapacitate you. Mastery of the Shield Charm allows you to deflect ranged spells and direct weapon strikes. Counter-attack with powerful Stunning Charms, allowing you to follow up with extended spell combinations.

Students who become particularly adept at spell-casting will find many ways to exploit their enemies’ weakness. Slam with Descendo, roast with Incendio, devastate your enemies using various Finishers. You can even use the mysterious, powerful magic your professors do not understand to obliterate your strongest foes. Mixing and matching dozens of spells will let you define your combat style on your path to become the ultimate duelist.

Talents and Abilities

In addition to classes and spells, you’ll have access to a deep set of upgrades, talents, and skills to aid your progression as a wizard. Complete challenges throughout the world to earn experience. Level up your abilities by choosing talents to upgrade your spells, plants, and potions to increase their power. Decide which talents best fit your playstyle to allow you to focus on your favourite types of magic.

You can also loot, buy, or craft your own magical gear that will increase your offensive and defensive capabilities in combat gear can be upgraded and specialised to allow for greater abilities for your chosen playstyle.

Spells are not the only tools at your disposal in combat. As you hone your wand skills, you can continue to further your magical education at Hogwarts, progressing your development as a witch or wizard.

Brew potions that can increase your power when you need a boost. Grow and deploy magical plants to mob the battlefield and keep your enemies at bay. You can even unleash deadly Mandrake seedlings to incapacitate unsuspecting enemies.

In Beasts class, you will learn about a variety of magical beasts you might encounter both at school and as you explore the world surrounding the castle and its grounds.

Learning and mastering broom flight is highly recommended so that you may travel around the world more quickly.

Some abilities may be taught to you by students who become your friends. As you develop relationships with these schoolmates, they can accompany you on your journey as your companions and, over time, you’ll learn their stories.

Natsai Onai is a brave adventurer driven by the justice she seeks. Poppy Sweeting has a kind heart and loves magical beasts—connecting with them more easily than with humans. Unafraid of detention or breaking the rules is Sebastian Sallow, a charismatic Slytherin with a troubling family secret. You’ll meet these students and more as you explore common rooms, hallways between classes, and regular gathering areas.

The Room of Requirement

One of the most remarkable secrets of Hogwarts is known as the Room of Requirement. You’re introduced to this space that seems to sense what you need and then provides it for you. Since you need to catch up to your peers, this room provides space for you to sow and harvest plants, brew potions, and upgrade your gear.

A helpful house-elf named Deek helps you discover vivariums that allow you to nurture your own menagerie of magical beasts.

You can freely customize this space to reflect your personality and magical specialties. Not everything you need on your journey is available at Hogwarts.

Beyond the Castle Walls

You’ll want to visit the nearby wizarding village of Hogsmeade, where loads of shops and vendors can provide you with the supplies you require—from potion ingredients and recipes to seeds for magical plants to all sorts of gear.

But Hogsmeade also has its dangerous side. A band of Dark witches and wizards emboldened by the turmoil of the times wander the village outskirts. You must avoid them—or defeat them.

As you explore, you’ll find the world surrounding Hogwarts is alive with activity, wonders, and areas of unusual interest. As the school year progresses, dynamic seasons and climates will fill the sky with lightning or sunshine—or coat the ground with snow or rain.

Unique wizarding hamlets pepper the countryside, each with vendors and residents who have stories to tell and missions with which they could use your assistance. Be on the lookout for enchanting magical puzzles that may very well have been designed by Merlin himself when he was a student at Hogwarts.

Magical beasts roam the lands outside the castle walls. Some have been corrupted by a mysterious Dark Magic, while others are at risk of poachers and their traps. If you’re feeling benevolent, you can rescue them and restore them to health in the Room of Requirement.

But there are dangers beyond your understanding in the world as well. Dungeons and vaults hold perilous threats, and also untold rewards. Be careful where you choose to explore as it may lead you down a darker path.

A/N: hAPPY (belated) valentine's day! this is the first time I've written something for a holiday that more or less happens to be on time for said holiday. these days I've been really stressed out bc THESIS so I wrote these lil scenarios for myself as a treat <3 special thanks to my beta reader for coming up w the title!!

there is nothing that childe would rather do than to give you the world at your feet; why, he’d even give you his very soul if you would allow him. but you had reprimanded him sharply when he brought it up for the first and the last time, saying that you’d much rather have his soul in his physical body, alive and well, than offered up to you as if he were a human sacrifice. a particular emphasis on the words alive and well.

you aren’t like teucer, whose youthful heart is easily cheered with new toys and adventurous stories. so instead childe gives you another gift, one that he knows hold more value in your heart than any gaudy trinket bought with the wealth he has accumulated. he gives you himself.

he gives you his time— no matter how short his visits are, he always makes sure to stop by your home to check on you. he gives you peace of mind on his well-being; childe no longer cares to rip into the battlefield without minding his own safety, for he knows how many sleepless nights you’ve spent dressing his wounds and worrying about him. mind, heart, a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on— whatever he can give, he gives freely, for his heart is his present to you, something that is meant to be yours and yours alone.

oh, but do not be mistaken here; he still longs to conquer the world for you, to make it a kingdom that he and you can reign over and live in happily ever after, like something straight out of a fairy tale. but the harbinger knows that the source of your happiness is not found in grand schemes of fame and fortune, no— your happiness comes from the simple joy of being in a world where you and he are alive at the same time, a happy existence where your loved ones can rejoice with you in peace and harmony. childe’s greatest wish is for you to have what your heart desires, and if he must give mind, body, soul and spirit to grant it, then so be it.

so he chooses to protect that simple, dream-like world of yours, much like how he protects the childhood dreams of his siblings. it is a far cry from the usual sort of striving he does, the one that requires his hands to be stained with bloodshed and misery— but the smile on your face is more than enough reward for childe’s efforts, worth more than any spoils of battle that he’s won in the past. if little gifts such as these are what gives this idyllic world to you, then childe is only too willing to surrender himself wholly to such a cause.

kaeya:

honesty is a rare luxury for kaeya to have— all last shreds of that trait had seemingly withered away long ago, unable to withstand the poison of hollow words and empty promises. for one whose entire life is built upon a foundation of falsehoods, the truth is the most terrifying thing a liar could ever face.

to kaeya, words are many things; weaponry, armour, and a way of getting by in life. lies are nothing but a means to an end, a way to getting the things he wants like the greedy sinner he is— but he doesn’t use them on you. he cannot bear to curse you with the weight of his lies, no matter how desperate kaeya is for your love; that, and he’s afraid of facing his truth, of whatever ill-omened burden he may become to you.

but then again… the truth terrifies him, yes, but what is far more terrifying is a future where you slip through his fingers, all because he was too paralyzed by fear. it is this new, greater terror that pushes him into a slow, tedious crawl as kaeya seeks to discard his cloak of lies; this fear pushes him to become a better man, to win your heart without a single honeyed word from his lips. you were the one to give him your complete honesty and trust, and to break it would break him too.

at first, it feels as if he’s tied one arm behind his back. without his reinforced armour of facades he feels awkward and clumsy, and kaeya admittedly fumbles more than once when he crosses paths with you. there is no-one for him to ask about these things, and to admit that he was lacking in knowledge would be a blow to his pride. but love makes fools out of the wisest men, as the poets say— and kaeya would rather be a courageous fool than a coward. making a fool of himself would make you laugh more anyway, and his dignity was a fair price to pay for a little piece of heaven.

eventually he learns to laugh with you, at the sheer absurdity of it all; no-one could’ve ever imagined the silver-tongued cavalry captain of the knights of favonius quaking like a leaf when he holds the door open for you. nor could anyone have pictured him tucking a cecilia behind your ear, immediately hiding his trembling hands behind his back afterwards like a shy school-boy. straightening your collar right before you attend an important event, giving you the pieces of food that you liked best while stealing the food you hated from off of your plate… these were all silent, domestic gestures that he was certain he was unworthy of, but they tasted like freedom all the same. even if you laughed at him and called him cheesy after.

it was in this manner that kaeya found a way to be honest with you; there was no need to worry about the sincerity behind his words if they remained unspoken. perhaps someday… someday he would be redeemed, and that day he might muster enough courage to become a truly honest man. but for now, kaeya was content with things as they were.

diluc:

diluc is not a man of many words. he prefers to act rather than to waste time talking— in his eyes, there is no point in using up precious minutes to chatter away about senseless formalities when one could be taking action and doing something. in that sense, he is an impatient man; but when occasion comes to rise, he will speak directly from his heart. sincerity is not something to be hidden away like gold in a miser’s safe, and diluc does not wish to be miserly when it comes to his relationship with you.

simple phrases such as ‘your outfit suits you well’ or a sincere ‘you’ve done a good job today’ are the most he can vocalise, for he doesn’t have the courage to spin sugar-coated compliments like a certain cavalry captain; it’s simply not diluc’s style, and whatever part of his brain that is responsible for forming words freezes stiff when he tries to come up with something to say. as a result, he sounds gruff and terse when conversing with you, leading many to the absurd misunderstanding that he harboured some sort of secret grudge against you.

it is only too fortunate for him that you are familiar with the language of awkward shyness; it’s almost impossible for him to fathom how it’s mere child’s play for you to understand the intentions behind his faltering words. he feels safe in the knowledge that you understand what he means, but he longs for a way to speak his truths, his testimonies to you— ah, if only his tongue did not betray him so.

but where diluc’s voice fails him, his pen compensates for the gap; it strikes him like a bolt of the blue one day, while he fills out paperwork. letters, letters, letters.

they are a heaven-sent miracle for one as tongue-tied as diluc, flying down to earth with wings of pale parchment to give a voice to his deepest thoughts. his writing-desk is soon crowded with stacks of the finest paper that money can buy, while quills, ink-pots and the like become an even larger part of the daily expenses of his household; for with each page he writes, he grows more sure of what he wants to say, and each letter he sends is even longer than the last. inked with pure sincerity and sealed with goodwill (and perhaps a loving kiss or two), your mail-box never fails to overflow with his affections for you. now that diluc has found his voice, he decides to use it— and what better use has a voice than to speak to the one you care for most?

gorou:

when one is entangled deep within the horrors of the battlefield, things such as safety and warmth are scarce to be found. touch is the last thing that comforts you, for the most physical contact you will find in a warzone is in harsh blows to your face and body, or the deadly kiss of a blade held to your neck. all soldiers sleep lightly because they fear the sharp sting of enemy steel on their bare skin; it is this fear that propels them to fight for a safer land for both themselves and their people.

for a while, gorou was incredibly wary of being touched after the end of the feud between watatsumi and narukami island— any unnecessary contact would send him in high alert, his teeth baring into a half-growl by instinct. even the slightest nudge in his sleep awakened him immediately, his entire body stiff and tense till he realised that it was just you; it takes time before he allows himself to lean into your touch without flinching, to indulge in the safety he felt only around you. it feels almost too good to be true, and he half-expects to wake up from what feels like a faraway dream.

but it isn’t. the sensation of your hands gently brushing his tail is heavenly, an almost out-of-body experience for gorou, but it is anything but a dream. he wants nothing more but to fall asleep in the warm sunshine as you pet his ears, dreaming of catching butterflies to put in your hair— ahem. the point here was that he felt warm and safe with you by his side.

nothing feels more secure to him than having your fingers intertwined in his as you wander the streets of inazuma together, or having you lean against his shoulder to rest. although he usually tries to keep his demeanor as an intimidating war-general who has braved a thousand battles, gorou is the one who initiates crossing his ankles with yours while waiting for your food to arrive. his tail wags most conspicuously— but who would care about such a thing in a moment like this? plus, the more his tail wagged, the more likely chance of you wanting to pet it.

(in the distance, a certain kitsune smiles conspiratorially at the oblivious couple— with this new development, it would appear that miss hina would have better love advice for her readers in the future. well, all the better for her investments, yae miko supposes.)

thoma:

thoma is a busy man; working for the yashiro commission is no easy task, especially if one is a vassal of the kamisato clan. time is a commodity that he does not always have the luxury of spending as he pleases, which brings him quite a problem on his hands: how is he to spend time with you when there is so little of his own to spare?

however, he is not one to be easily deterred by such obstacles. many days and sleepless nights were spent rearranging thoma’s to-do list to keep at least one day free for you, but alas! just as he would adjust his schedule, new tasks would crop up like pesky weeds. honestly, it was as if the whole world were against him spending time with you.

but his problems were solved when you showed up at the yashiro commission one day, declaring yourself as a new member of the staff (and with a document bearing the official seal of commissioner kamisato to prove it, no less!) after due verification from furuta, thoma was delegated with the task of being your supervisor.

“are you sure about this?” he asked hesitantly, for thoma was all too familiar with the stigma that surrounded the idea of doing house-work; though it was not an issue that necessarily bothered him, it was not something that he wanted you to experience. but you merely brushed his concerns aside with a toothy grin and dove into the chores head-first, forcing him to follow after you; thoma had always spoke of his passion for house-keeping with pride, so why should you be ashamed of something that he enjoyed so much?

that is an argument that he cannot disagree with, and eventually thoma accepts that this is going to be a new part of his work-life now. the two of you fall into a comfortable rhythm as you become accustomed to the other’s work-pace; you methodically wipe the dishes dry as thoma washes them. he scrubs the laundry, you hang them on the wash-line to dry in the sun. he sweeps, you mop— you dust the shelves and he wipes them down with a damp rag right after.

it certainly isn’t a fancy date at uyuu restaurant, but it is something more valuable to thoma. spending time with your loved ones doing something you enjoy is always an enjoyable experience, and the fact that you had gone out of your way to spend time with him made his heart flutter in odd ways. and perhaps… doing housework with you made his mind wander off to faraway places, to a hazy daydream with the two of you in a house of your very own. but thoma was too embarrassed to admit it now— he’d tell you later on, once he had found a proper ring.

Welcome to the 12 Days of Ficmas!  This is a low-pressure, choose-your-own-adventure-style fandom event celebrating Check, Please and its content creators.

There is no fic minimum!  While holiday-themed works are encouraged, they are not required.  What we’re stressing is a fun event that anyone can participate in.

I know posting stories on here has been fairly slow. Work has been hectic. The holidays coming up as quickly as they are haven’t help either. So, I figured I would make a list of what to expect for December/January. There’s a lot, and I don’t expect to have it all done before the end of the year.

Impossibly Redeemable (Loki/Infinity Train Series) new chapter - I only recently realized it has been almost two months since I did anything with this. I need to pick from a list of train car ideas I have written down.

Continue (Legolas) new chapter - Basically written in my head. As for the rest of the series, that needs to be fleshed out more.

Hey guys! Quill here, and I would like to announce that I will be coding a new bot while Cat is gone, as we are planning out a nitro discord to be released Spring/Summer 2022. This bot will be a choose-your-own-adventure bot that takes place some time after the original series. We are still figuring out what we want to do with the storyline, but the bot will be released with the new discord in 2022. We would love to get as many people on the project as we can because I need help with at least 1000 different endings, so work on your writing because next summer (2021) I will be reading and recruiting (I will be looking for writing style and series knowledge). We would like at least 4 more people for now, but we will accept more recruits in the future.
