In den Gezeiten der Unendlichkeit schwimme ich all zu gern |

Schnee in der Wüste

Nach unserer Nacht im Motel in Cache Creek ging es nun in unser vorläufiges Ziel Kamloops. Bevor wir fahren hab ich ein Telefon-Interview mit einem Ski Gebiet. Da es in dem Motel keine Küche gab, wollte wir eigentlich unseren Haferbrei am nächsten See zu uns nehmen. Da es aber leider nun mittlerweile nachts unter 0°C ist funktionierte der Gaskocher leider nicht, also gab es die Brühe kalt im Auto, da draußen ein eisiger Wind wehte.

Über den Bergen kam dann auch das angekündigte Schmuddelwetter, das auch den 1. Schnee mit sich brachte. Die Landschaft sieht nach wie vor wie Steppe aus. Wie wir später lernten nennen die Canadier das Gebiet in dem wir uns seit gestern befinden auch "Dessert" (zu deutsch "Wüste"). Der Breaking Bad vergleich gar nicht soweit her geholt also.

In Kamloops angekommen geht es erstmal zu Wallmart. Da ist's warm, man hat WLAN & kriegt auch sonst alles was man braucht. Um zu sparen, muss man aber auch hier wieder alles in abstrusen Mengen kaufen... 3 Packungen Cracker... auf jeden Fall her damit! Da es nun draußen inzwischen gut zu schneien beginnt gehen wir zu Tim Hortons, um dort das nächste Bewerbungsgespräch zu führen.

Anschließend treffen wir uns mit Erin, die ich noch aus Neuseeland kenne. Bizarr & schön, sie 7 Jahre später am anderen Ende der Welt zu sehen. Sie gibt uns auch noch eine Decke für die vorerst letzte Nacht in Carla.

Denn danach gönnen wir uns fürs Wochenende wieder ein Motel, weil es jetzt langsam doch bissl zu kalt wird, um in der Karre zu pennen. Wobei das schlafen nicht das Problem ist, aber das ganze drumherum & vor allem früh raus zu kommen nervt bei dem Mistwetter schon.

Nun ist Montag & wir sind immer noch hier. Einfach mal chillen! Diese Woche entscheidet sich dann hoffentlich, wo es für die Skisaison hingeht. So lange bleiben wir noch hier, denn Kamloops ist verhältnismäßig zentral gelegen, hat alles was man so braucht & draußen erreichen wir mittlerweile auch 2-stellige Minusgrade. Es schneit seit Donnerstag jeden Tag. Der Winter ist definitv schon ready - wir noch nicht so ganz...
