There was a period in sixth form when his soulmate must have gotten shy or something, because the drawings only happened after school hours and in places that others wouldn’t be as likely to see. The inside of his bicep, his thigh. A couple times he even had drawings appear on his ribcage. While he didn’t mind those few years, he did seem somewhat soothed when they began to appear on his left arm again. He’d missed them.

Niall has been trying to get him to Paris ever since he got his mark. There’s not any particular reason why he hasn’t gone, it just never felt like the right time. But he is 26 and maybe Niall is on to something. He starts checking fares and calculating in his head if he can afford it. A new environment might help him with inspiration for his novel as well.

Looks like he’s finally going to Paris.

Harry watches as Louis’ thumb hovers over the button, his stomach fluttering in anticipation. When he feels the vibrations change, his mouth pops open in bliss as he gasps, his wrists yanking hard against the velvety handcuffs.

December 2022 - 28th Appreciation

Welcome to my December 2022 rec list. The end of another year! This month features Lilo, Tomlinshaw and, of course, Larry.

A quick confession - this was a difficult month for me. I caught Covid and as such wasn’t able to see my family for Christmas, although luckily for me (unluckily for her) a friend was in the same boat, so I wasn’t alone. It was still difficult. I know I buried myself in fics to escape and didn’t make notes on them (hence the short list). So if I missed yours, I’m truly sorry, but I really appreciate every writer out there. Your distraction and entertainment are always so valuable, even more so when life throws us curveballs.

Sympathy For The Devil - taggiecb - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own] @taggiecb - G, 5k - Santa!Harry and Satan Louis, misdelivered letters. This fic is an utter delight. A clever premise, cuteness, funny bits - I just loved it. It’s perfect.

24K Magic - Justalittlelouislove - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own] @justalittlelouislove - E, 32k - famous/famous, AU. I just sunk into this fic. I think I read it in one sitting. The relationship between the characters is flawed and so much realer because of that. I’ve also had that Bruno Mars song stuck in my head for days now, because I can’t stop thinking about this fic.

These Hallowed Woods - snowcaplou - One Direction (Band) [Archive of Our Own] - NR, 35k - omegaverse, pack dynamics, courting, Luna Louis. Heed the tags/warnings on this one, but I just found this so interesting. It’s a little bit dark, a little bit old-fashioned - together it gave me a pre-Disney fairy tale type vibe, when they still contained blood and danger.
