Hey, do you like cheese? If yes, what are your top 3 kinds?

I am allergic to cows milk(its not lactose intolerance so I cant just take one of those pill things), but I love goat cheese. Top 3 of the top of my head: Brie, the cheddar I use for grilled cheese sandwhiches, and this one whos name I cant remember but its kind of caramel coloured and comes from somewhere in northern Europe and I haven't seen in stores for a long time sadly.

kedem tea cookie with cinnamon apple sauce also good, hmmngh also corn tortilla chips with cold shredded cheddar jack cheese. the difference of textures makes for a good experience

if you're feeling a lil extra too, ive also been known to make cheese dip and dip a reuben sandwhich or two in it

I think its very fun that you designate cheeses to specific jobs whereas I'll look at some cheddar and go "what if I put you on/in everything I eat today"

I do think some cheeses have specific jobs, absolutely, but only some.

look I know I have that "Do you like cheese" poll going around but i like cheese Conditionally. It must be doing something. Must be the right temperature. Cannot be a Bad Texture. Aged cheeses taste like feet. Or worse, vomit. Mozzerella is good, but NOT on crackers. I tried brie once and wanted to fling myself into the river. Meunster makes the best grilled cheese sandwhiches. Thank you and good night.

pepper jack. elite. nicely flavored. great on all fronts.

swiss. controversial im sure but nice and mild. good for deli meats

provolone. same as above but i prefer swiss.

muenster. if it's not obvious i like my cheeses to be a little mild. it's a little rich for your average lunch bag sandwhich.

havarti - a little sweet for my tastes but otherwise pretty solid

colby jack. mid. not good or bad, just ok. but good in mac and cheese for variety - not in sandwiches tho

cheddar. controversial but not a big cheddar fan in general. sharp or mild, it disrupts the sandwhich flavor.

american cheese - i don't hate it but i would choose any of the above first. too salty for most meats.

Vegan grilled chz (x2! One just wasnt enough!)

I used a wheat bread, olive oil, and Daiya Cheddar slices, only 1 slice for each sandwhich since theyre pretty large pieces.

The flavor was greattttt. The cheese is very creamy when melted, altho it takes a while for it to melt it seems lol (its matte texture and color make it a lil hard to tell if its melted any. But I noticed that when perspiration or oil is present on the cheese's surface and when its color becomes less vibrant, thats when its basically melted). I didnt want to wash too many dishes so funnily enough I used my small egg frying pan (a hand-me-down) to grill it. It all fit in! Well, when I put the sandwhich together lol. I couldnt toast both bread slices at the same time but I didnt need to since I only needed one cheese slice. I like my bread a lil crispy burnt too, so it being in such a small pan was useful!

Would have loved this with the market-squash and lentils I was thinking about making. But I was pretty tired after a long day of work today (and a lil indecisive about some plans to run errands today lol). Will def try that again tomorrow!

i looooove trying a new food and loving it and being able to replicate + build upon it. made a sandwhich i have dubbed “von’s pussy popping grilled cheese” which is mozzarella cheese, white cheddar mac n cheese, and tomato basil soup w an extra slice of bread in the middle for stability and then baked until all melty and toasty and it turned out SO GOOD
