Order Research Peptides For Sale Online
Tumblr media
Research peptides are short chains of amino acids that are used in scientific research to study a variety of biological processes. They can be used to mimic the effects of natural proteins, or to design new proteins with specific functions. Research peptides are also used in drug discovery to develop new treatments for diseases.
There are a number of different ways to Order Research Peptides For Sale Online. Some companies sell pre-synthesized peptides, while others offer custom synthesis services. When ordering research peptides, it is important to choose a reputable supplier that can provide high-quality products.
How to choose a reputable supplier of research peptides
When choosing a supplier of research peptides, there are a number of factors to consider, including:
Quality control: The supplier should have a rigorous quality control process in place to ensure that their peptides are pure and of high quality.
Customer service: The supplier should have a good track record of customer service and be able to answer your questions promptly and accurately.
Pricing: The supplier should offer competitive pricing for their peptides.
How to order research peptides online
Once you have chosen a reputable supplier, you can order research peptides online by following these steps:
Visit the supplier's website and browse their selection of peptides.
Select the peptides that you want to purchase and add them to your cart.
Proceed to checkout and enter your shipping and billing information.
Review your order and click "Submit" to complete your purchase.
Payment options
Most suppliers of research peptides accept a variety of payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and PayPal. Some suppliers may also offer discounts for bulk orders.
Shipping
Research peptides are typically shipped via express mail to ensure that they arrive quickly and in good condition. Shipping costs will vary depending on the supplier and the shipping destination.
Custom peptide synthesis
If you cannot find the peptide that you need in a supplier's catalog, you can request custom peptide synthesis. This is a process in which the supplier synthesizes the peptide specifically for you based on your specifications. Custom peptide synthesis can be more expensive than purchasing pre-synthesized peptides, but it is the only option if you need a peptide that is not commercially available.
What to do with research peptides once you receive them
Once you have received your research peptides, it is important to store them properly. Peptides should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Peptides should also be stored in a sealed container to prevent them from degrading.
Safety precautions when handling research peptides
Research peptides can be potent biological compounds, so it is important to handle them with care. When handling research peptides, it is important to wear gloves and safety glasses to protect yourself from exposure. It is also important to work in a well-ventilated area.
Conclusion
Ordering research peptides online is a convenient and efficient way to obtain the peptides that you need for your research. When ordering research peptides, it is important to choose a reputable supplier that can provide high-quality products. It is also important to store and handle research peptides properly. please visit here Order Research Peptides For Sale Online  for more information.

Fashion waste manifests at three stages in the value chain: during the production process where surplus raw materials accumulate; in warehouses where excess buffer stocks settle; and in landfills where post-consumer waste mounts. While the instant fashion model does likely reduce buffer stocks (although the companies don’t share these data to validate their claims), it’s hyper-dependence on fossil fuel-based polyester summed with the short half-life of its cheap clothing causes consequential environmental damage at the other stages of the process. Instant fashion’s popularity overlaps with the surge in plastic as a fashion input. Prior to 2000, natural fibers (such as cotton and wool) were the primary inputs to clothing. However, as fossil fuel producers have come under pressure from the growth of renewables, growth in plastic supply has proved a welcome offset with the fashion industry serving as a reliable customer. Cheaper, more readily available, and with some preferred properties (e.g. quick-drying, wrinkle-proof, durable, ability to “take” color, and more), synthetics have powered the growth of activewear and instant fashion. While consumers have benefited from lower prices, the negative impacts of synthetics are an environmental scourge. Energy used to produce plastics is often fossil fuel-intensive leading to increases in carbon emissions. During a plastic garment’s useful life, it sheds microplastics into waterways that end up in the food supply, as do excess concentrations of hazardous chemicals. A recent Greenpeace investigation found that 15% of Shein’s products contain concentrations of hazardous chemicals that breach E.U. regulatory limits. Finally, it takes hundreds of years for cheap synthetic shoes and shirts to decompose, all the while emitting methane and further contributing to climate change. (It’s important to note that even producing clothing with natural, untreated fabrics impacts the environment; the most sustainable option is to produce and consume less.)

Damn it all, I lost someone's ask
I saved it to draft (so I could deal with it at more length) and it vanished.
The person was saying they wanted to tank up on Young Wizards printed books but were having trouble, due to unavailability of all but "the first one", and prices for both hardcovers and trade paperbacks being all over the place at independent suppliers.
Briefly: this has been a problem for nearly the last decade, and more so since the books' US publisher (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) was ingested by another larger publisher.
Distribution on these books has always been dodgy, and frankly it's become more so over time, as their publisher keeps changing hands, staff leave or are fired, and sales staffs turn over. Additionally, all the books have appeared in multiple formats over the years, and not all of the books necessarily in all of those.
Confused yet? I know I am, and they're my damn books!
Dealing strictly with the Harcourt editions here: the first three appear only in mass-market paperbacks, with covers by two different artists. The fourth one then appears in mass market and an unusual small-format hardcover. Then (when the series took off with that publisher) all the MMPBs were repackaged, and (starting with the fifth one) were preceded by Harcourt hardcovers. Additionally, as the books were doing quite well in the early 2000s, the sales staff thought it would be a good idea if there were "digest format" editions aimed at younger readers. (These books were only physically larger than MMPBs, with bigger print: no text was ever Reader's-Digest-style abridged/condensed.) And there were only six of these, as the later books were thought to be "more adult" and hence not a good fit for this format.
After that, the remaining three books all went to hardcover-and-paperback, usually a year apart. The digest editions were allowed to gradually go out of print; so were the hardcovers, as demand for them fell off. And that's where we are at the moment, with (as far as I can tell) the MMPBs only being reprinted in small amounts when stocks fall low enough to warrant it.
This situation doesn't really support the books being easy to find. Additionally, older editions of the hardcovers from previous publishers (and older trade paperbacks, ditto) are still out there, and can be had... but at what will look like weirdly high prices. The early Dell hardcovers of So You Want To Be A Wizard, Deep Wizardry and High Wizardry, due to their small print runs, are rare, hard to find, and usually go for hundreds of dollars. (This link at Abebooks will show you what the situation's currently like for the Delacorte hardcover first edition of So You Want To Be A Wizard.) For a long time there was no US hardcover of A Wizard Abroad until SF Book Club published one set from the text of the UK Transworld/Corgi edition. (sigh) And so on. (There's a page over at the Young Wizards site dealing with this wild assortment of covers and formats.)
Now, all that said: Over at Signed Books Direct is our storefront for copies of both the newer and older books. Except for the rarest ones, we sell them at cover price (and are happy to do so, because FFS nobody needs this many of their own books). :) I acquired a lot of these from Harcourt when word came down that warehouse space was tight, stock was being winnowed, and I could have these on the cheap—or, it was heavily implied, they would be pulped. And as someone who due to a weird confluence of circumstances had half the print run of her (strongly-selling!) first novel pulped in the warehouse, the mere word, even after forty years, makes my blood run a bit cold. So I laid out the necessary cash and gave those books a home. And when people find ones they want, I sell them on to new homes with great pleasure.
So the thing for you to do (O person whose ask was in an evil hour eaten by Tumblr) is use the SBD contact email on this page to query me about what you're looking for. I'm presently in the middle of reorganizing the store's inventory so it reflects what we've actually got. The website's about to be reorganized to reflect what's on the shelves in the boot room, but that's not gonna happen this week.. so don't take what you see on the site seriously. Query me about what you're after, and as soon as I've had a rummage in the shelves, I'll get back to you.
HTH!
(And for those of you wondering, "But what are you doing about the distribution problem?" ...right now the answer is: "What my agent and I can." More news as it becomes available.)

Because wire fraud and money laundering are now also book terms
Tumblr media
Books have always played a role in politics as a way to get to know the candidate, outline their vision, and set the record straight after they have left office but political books can also be weaponized and not always in the way you might think. Recently Harper accidentally released metadata on a James Comer book called ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MONEY due to release on September 10th, strategic timing for a close election. Comer quickly denied he has a contract for a book but Harper wouldn’t have this data in their system if they weren’t already working on it. The ONIX feed is now been refed listed as UNTITLED by Anonymous. Shopping a book deal at the same time that he is leading the Biden impeachment probe, is obviously not a good look for Comer. Sure this is a way to throw chum the water and try and smear the other candidate but I live in Baltimore and another concern comes to mind. With a bankrupt Republican Party, it might be very important to watch just who is buying these books.
Tumblr media
In 2019, just before Covid, Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and two counts of tax evasion in what has become known as BookGate. Pugh and her long-standing legislative and campaign adviser, Gary Brown fraudulently sold self-published Healthy Holly children's books to local nonprofit organizations in order to obtain more than $800,000 to fund her campaign and enrich herself. These were cheap and poorly written books riddled with errors and spelling mistakes. Holly, the main character’s name, was spelled differently throughout the series. Tens of thousands of books sold to organizations and intended to be distributed to children ended up piled in warehouses and were never delivered. They were however resold multiple times. Significantly more books were sold than were ever printed. But this wasn’t just about selling crappy kids books. The buyers didn't care, they bought anyway.
CNN reported that during BookGate the University of Maryland Medical Center spent $500,000 to fund the purchase of some 100,000 books from Pugh’s company, Healthy Holly LLC. The former mayor also received about $114,000 from healthcare provider Kaiser Permanente for some 20,000 books from 2015 to 2018 and an additional $80,000 from the public foundation Associated Black Charities, which said it bought some 10,000 copies of Pugh’s between 2011 and 2016. All of these groups worked with and lobbied the city.
Catherine Pugh was sentenced to 3 years in prison and ordered to pay $411,948 in restitution and to forfeit more than $600,000, including a property in Baltimore and nearly $18,000 from her campaign account.
Sound familiar? It is openly acknowledged that this is precisely what is going on with Donald Trump’s self-published bible. High-velocity sales of an objectively poor product are hard to hide and easier to subpoena and trace as people notice. Now if you can put a legitimate business between you and the questionable product all the better. We can see that with Trump’s media company now listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
In the post-Trump world, it is no longer just monitoring institutional sales and people trying to game the bestsellers lists. Trade Publishers and retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Barnes & Noble need to be extra careful and pay attention to just how and to whom these books are being sold lest they get caught up in an FBI investigation because wire fraud and money laundering are now also book terms.

Parables of the Lost Voyage: McSweeties
In 1872, Angus McAdams founded McSweeties in Ayr, Scotland, selling sweetmeats from a cart in the market square. By the time before the fall, his business had been bought several times over, but the glutenous jelly figures that were their major product would still have been recognised by their creator, though the recipe had been changed many times to first be better, and later, cheaper. With the advent of generalised AI and cheap production came the marketing campaign that would change their future: The McSweetie Doll.
A thick rubbery doll made to look like the sweets they were selling, all named Angus after their mascot, a humanoid jelly sweet with a crown. In various colours, about 20cm tall. They could be posed to sit, and had cheap cameras and animatronics and a simple GAI so they could complete their primary function: To listen to kids talk about their day, make appropriate comments, and then tell the kids they'd been good enough to deserve a bag of McSweeties.
Parents loved not having to listen to their children about the inanities of school! Kids loved actually getting attention! The corporation loved the kids (and parents) buying the sweets!
Made with stock components to be as cheap as possible, McSweeties parent company churned these out by the tens of thousands, giving them away where they couldn't sell them, but The Fall wasn't kind to the confectionary industry, and soon McSweeties and all its brand and assets was up for a fire sale.
The bright spark at Brunswick Security who bought it for a song found it made her career, as with a small firmware patch over the network they suddenly had the most widespread surveillance network ever put into private hands. Those McSweeties that weren't already in homes marched out of their warehouses in legions, to sit atop walls and inside bushes, and sell what they saw to anyone who would buy it.
Brunswick's automaton division - still McSweeties - is now its most profitable sector, barely mindful dolls of all shapes and sizes, though the cheap rubber and aluminium skeletons of the original models have long been replaced by bullet-proof resins and reinforced titanium structures. As cutely as they waddle, they're terrifying when they run, and if you can see the adorably crowned doll-sized sweetie perched on a shelf, you may have missed the eight foot mountain of impenetrable green rubber that's softly lumbering from behind you.
--
(The Parables of the Lost Voyage are a short series of fiction pieces exploring the world around an Eclipse Phase campaign I’m planning)

Helena has arrived!
A couple weeks ago I mentioned that A Girl for All Time is having a warehouse sale with huge discounts on their products. I knew I'd never get Helena for that cheap, so I went for it! Friends, listen to me......... she's incredible. From head to toe, she's perfection.
Tumblr media
Helena Marchmont is a spirited 12-year-old girl from 1820. She would rather be running wild outdoors with her cousins at Henley Manor than participating in endless tea parties and dances. But her life becomes much more interesting when she receives a mysterious trunk for her birthday!
A Girl for All Time dolls are based in the United Kingdom, and the character dolls focus on time periods spanning the 1500's to today. In that way they're very similar to American Girl.
The biggest difference between the two brands is their size. The three characters who do have story books only have one, and Helena has none, other than the small blurb on the box she arrived in. The dolls also have few to no other outfits or accessories available. That's fine with me because I can sew my own doll clothes and I look forward to making Helena a nice little collection, but that may be an issue for other collectors.
But the similarities are in their high quality dolls, with lots of love and attention paid to the smaller details.
Tumblr media
Helena's dainty little hands have carefully sculpted fingernails and blushing across her palms. She can hold things easily.
She has an all-vinyl body with inset eyes that don't blink.
Tumblr media
She is articulated at the elbows and knees. They bend a little bit, but her arms don't extend outwards very much.
Tumblr media
Her wig is beautiful, so soft and realistic.
Tumblr media
Under her rose-pink dress, she has pantalettes, stockings, and faux leather shoes.
The sale at A Girl for All Time is still going on, so check it out if this interests you! They're making way for new products to come.

I defrauded a major corporation :)
On Black Friday, I bought myself a pair of AirPods. The regular price is $130, but I got them on sale for $80.
They were delivered, they worked much better than the cheap knockoff pair I was using before, I was happy.
But then. I guess someone at the Amazon warehouse got confused?? Because the next day. A second pair of AirPods showed up on my doorstep.
The right/ethical thing to do probably would have been “tell Amazon they accidentally gave me 2 pairs.”
Did I do that? No.
Instead, I called Amazon and was like “hi, I have one pair of AirPods, only one, and I’ve decided to return them, because I don’t like them!”
I sent the AirPods back to the warehouse. Amazon refunded me my $80.
I still have my other AirPods in my pocket. They were essentially free. 😈

Where do you shop for your clothes? Are there any particular brands you look out for?
OH SO- this is kinda gonna be a frustrating answer.
i shop almost exclusively at this re-sale/second chance/excess store that puts together the unsold clothing from places like free-people and anthropology and the indy brands that they carry. It's INCREDIBLY local to my stretch of the woods- it's called retail 101 in naugatuck connecticut. i got a 350$ dress new with tags for 30$ and that was the most expensive clothing item listed in the store. it's definitely worthwhile to make the drive. it's about an hour for me, at least two if you're in nyc.
shopping there helps me feel better about getting clothes- because they're generally a lot bit better quality than like h and m or primark (which is what i can reasonably afford). it's also not directly supporting like- all those big businesses and keeps unsold clothes out of the landfill ect. It's helped me get some very very nice clothing for very cheap. it's a very overstimulating experience because it's basically just a football field sized warehouse filled with clothing.
i greatly recommend it if you're overly small or overly large because their greatest selection is in the Xs and Xl range like- I think i saw a size 14 jeans that were originally 400$ on sale for 14$ so- if you're more middle sized it definitely requires some hunting.
but tbh i also hit up the target clearance section for most of my jeans because they have really reasonable sales. i got my favorite pair of ripped jeans there for 6.50$. Target just for some reason happens to fit me pretty reliably- which is honestly rare because i have a 28 inch waist but a 40 inch booty.

Author's choice : Halloween
Tumblr media
Okkkkk here we go with the last one...In honour of the first character who's drawn me in and made me write fanfiction: Thorin II
A special thanks to @lathalea, @legolasbadass, @fizzyxcustard, @middleearthpixie, @linasofia and @laurfilijames who have been with me for long months since.
Also @lordoftherazzles, @frosticenow, and many many others who enjoy Thorin :D
If you like this premise, @middleearthpixie has a whole fic about canon-Thorin falling into the Modern World. It's really good...check it out! -> Where I Belong
Here we go for the last story in October. Thank you for having been with me; I love you all.
Words: 750
Warnings: innuendo
Tumblr media
“I don’t see why I cannot wear my own clothes,” Thorin grumbled, “as they are apparently so ludicrous.”
You wrinkled your nose as you sought a good retort to this for he was not entirely wrong; upon finding a disoriented and considerably sour-faced stranger wandering around in your neighbourhood last spring, you had not hesitated to point out how incongruous and absurd his heavy coat and sharp-looking sword were in this part of town.
If only you had known then what you knew now, but there was no use in crying over spilt milk or careless comments carried away by the nightly mists.
It had only been after several drinks and many a confusing hour that you had found out that he had found himself indeed not only in the wrong locality or city but in the wrong universe entirely.
Since that confusing night – there had been talk of a dragon, a hoard of gold, and other rather fantastical things – Thorin, who imagined himself to be the long-lost heir of some imaginary kingdom, had been your guest and lover in the small one-bedroom-apartment you called your own realm.
Weeks bled into months and, as he seemed rather interested in the customs and habits of the inhabitants of your world, you had decided to take him to a Halloween party.
Unfortunately, Thorin did neither understand nor like the idea of dressing up as someone or something else and had turned rather petulant when you had presented him with a fluffy wolf-jumpsuit.
He was bulky and broad and, short of letting him leave bare-chested in nothing but a loincloth, you had not come up with any better ideas as most costumes that were for sale in the tiny shop down the street would not have accommodated his prodigiously broad shoulders and sturdy thighs.
“Come on,” you coaxed, wrapping your arms around his midriff tenderly and resting your head on his shoulder gently, “you’ll look fierce.”
“What is that even supposed to be?” he asked with a hint of humour in his voice as he took the costume from you and fingered the cheap fabric disapprovingly.
“It’s a wolf,” you explained, even though you had to admit that the likeness was not a very good one.
Before Thorin could launch into a long description of birds and beasts in his world, you held up your hand and swirled it suggestively to signify that you’d be willing to listen to him while he was putting on the costume.
The red cape draped around your own shoulders billowed as you walked over to the mirror to check your Red Riding Hood costume one last time.
“Why are you a little girl?” Thorin asked while tugging off his boots to step into his own disguise.
“It’s a long story,” you laughed, “but suffice it to say that the little girl will be eaten by the wolf!”
“I’d eat you all right!”
His words made a shiver race down your spine and so you forewent the pleasure of letting him know how the story ended for the wolf; you had already proven that you could rewrite a story and you were not about to stop now.
It was not entirely clear to you why it mattered so much to you that he’d accompany you to the small gathering in an abandoned warehouse, but – after so many years of heartbreak and loneliness – you finally felt like yourself again and you desperately yearned to take the little miracle that had been granted to you into the world.
A part of you was afraid that Thorin and all his tender love and unyielding support would just dissolve and vanish once the clock struck midnight but another, stronger and more adventurous, part needed to check whether the magic that had painted your grey and drab life in rainbow colours again would withstand the cold gleam of the moon and the pounding bass of bad music.
“As my lady commands,” Thorin groaned and stepped into the monstrosity as if into battle.
“You know,” he added slyly as he pressed a quick, possessive kiss onto your lips, “where I come from, our foes ride wolf-like creatures.”
Giggling, you allowed him to lift you onto his back, slinging your arms around his thick neck and breathing in the warm, seductive fragrance of his long, wavy hair.
“Carry me away, my noble steed,” you cheered, deciding that an approximation of a wolf was a thousand times better and more promising than an enchanted pumpkin anyway.
Tumblr media
@fellowshipofthefics: Here we are...the very last of the month. Thank you for the lovely prompts and sorry for the spam!
Thank you again for everyone having read any of these stories...
Lots of love from me ❤️‍🔥

This session began with both parties arriving in the oasis city of Ank'Harel. Question the tiefling thanks the group for their help, and gives them a Sending Stone that the Cobalt Soul could contact them with, assuming they would like more work later. Prolix asks the party to come with him to meet with his superior. They talk to one of the Alleigance of Allsight's headmasters, Alakritos, and tell him what they experienced at The Betrayer's Rise. Still untrusting, they leave out the vision they had of Alyxian, and the fact that they have the Jewel with them.
The party spend the next couple days planting roots in the city, they find an empty warehouse for sale in the Ridge District, the industrial sector of the city. Although its initially rough conditions, its cheap enough for the party to collectively afford. Aerith furbishes a garden out the front, and they get the bare essentials of furniture. Cherchael spends time in the marketplace, The Suncut Bazaar, looking for a place to establish her fortune telling business.
Tumblr media
Cherchael eventually meets Hagred Loravan, the master of street stralls in the Bazaar. As a show of skill, Cherchael does a reading for Hagred, and turns up the 3 of Wands (inverted), the Queen of Pentacles (upright), and the 7 of Swords (upright), which she reads as; business was rough in the past, right now the bazaar is financially secure, but there are those who might use deception to try and disrupt this current state in the near future. Hagred interprets this reading as pointing to rumours he heard about a robbery in planning for the Luck's Run Casino, and advises Cherchael to point burly types to an upcoming hiring possibility.
Meanwhile, the more adventurous types in the group are looking for thrilling forms of income. Quierk books an arena fight at the Bowl of Judgment at the end of the week. The group also find a job board at the Crystal Chateau (the Alleigance's base of operations), for a lost cat. They find and the chase the cat, which turns out to be a Tressym, and use hot street food to lure it into their arms, being paid with money and magic scrolls for their effort. Ramiel is warned that his magic armour may be cursed, and one of the scrolls they recieve allows them to reverse this.
Now having carved out a place to settle in the city, the group are now free to explore Ank'Harel for clues on Alyxian's quest, and maybe their own destinies.

On Writing: A Touch of Reality
Not all rose petals are soft. Not all plastic counters are smooth. Not all sunlight is warm - though those are usually the gray, moist, overcast days when there’s not so much defined sunlight as a diffuse illumination that means you still want to drive with your low lights on. Not so much that you can see, as that other people can see you.
Adding elements of touch puts real feeling in your story. Pun intended. It’s one thing to watch a character dodge a crocodile’s snapping jaws on the movie screen. It’s another to feel fetid damp breath, the jarring of teeth closing as they just skim past your boot, and to sit down later, heart still drumming, fingers tracing the rough gouges left in thick leather. Feeling the cold shiver, as you realize if the boot had been a hair thinner....
I strongly encourage writers to touch anything in their environment that’s safe to touch, so you can build up a mental file of what things feel like, the better to describe things that will only exist in your mind.
(Note: Safe to touch. This does not include anything toxic, corrosive, or fresh out of the oven and meant for the PTA bake sale. Or the Big Red Button. Never touch the Big Red Button!)
When you can, touch both new and used versions of the same thing. It can be important to setting a scene, and sometimes critical to the plot, for a character to know the condition of their surroundings. Does the shop building look old and rundown, but the counter and register are glossy new, plastic smooth under your fingers? That’s something you might see when a new entrepreneur is trying their luck with their very first business. That might be good, letting you find new things to buy cheap, or bad if it doesn’t last.
If the counter’s clean, but you can feel the scratches in the surface - a lot of items have passed over this counter, not always carefully.
If the counter’s worn, and looks worn... then whoever’s running the place doesn’t consider the look worth spending time and money on. In a freight warehouse this may be par for the course. In an upscale boutique, it means something is wrong.
And don’t forget the classic, the bar is seedy and rundown but all the furniture is new - and cheap. Turn around and walk right back out the door, unless you want your characters in a bar-fight....
As writers, we need to read. But we also need to have physical experiences we can translate into new stories. The hard but melting edge of ice you’re prying off the inside of the freezer. The cold, annoying seep of water inward, turning your socks soggy as you slosh across the parking lot flooded by a sudden burst of rain. The ghost-of-a-cloud against your fingertips as the wind blows humid air in from the Gulf.
Don’t worry if these details don’t automatically spill out of your fingers when you write the rough draft. You can always devote an edit run specifically to sensory details once you’ve worked out the bones of how the story goes. I do!
Feel the world of your story. Your readers will remember it.

CRAPPY STAR TREK TOYS
Actually, this one’s not so crappy it terms of form and function.  However, price wise?  This was practically a non-starter.
Presenting: Mego’s Star Trek Tricorder toy!
Tumblr media
As I’ve mentioned before, Star Trek toys just plain ole stank until the mid-1970s, thanks mostly to Mego.
Tumblr media
Mego had something of a not-so-great reputation - much of it deserved - amongst toy manufacturers.   For years it had made cheap, crappy toys for sale in bargain stores.  And it was, after all, the company that blatantly copied Hasbro’s G.I. Joe.
Tumblr media
However. when Mego lucked onto the very inexpensive ($5,000) Star Trek toy license it actually made toys that resembled people and items from the television series.
I could wax poetic for days about Mego’s 8-inch Star Trek action figures, and the U.S.S. Enterprise play set!  But I’m talking about the tricorder now.
youtube
“Get the tricordah!”
The tricorder was an actual cassette player/recorder, but dressed up with lights and dials to make it appear like its TV namesake.  It also had a nifty flip-up cover.
It came with one cassette tape.  Side-A of the tape contained a 30 minute compilation of the two-part episode The Menagerie.  The flip side, depending on which source you consult, was either blank so you could record your own stuff, or contained “space sounds.”

Tape recorders/players of this type were relatively new at the time this was released in 1976.  Heck, people then still were putting 8-track tape players in their cars.
Therefore, the tricorder was an expensive toy for the time.  I haven’t been able to track down the exact price, but similar electronic Star Trek toys from Mego ran $20-$25 a piece.  That was enough for a down payment on a new car back then!
For perspective: the individual Star Trek action figures were less than $3 a piece then, compared to $15-$20 now.
The tricorder also required four C batteries (”batteries not included”), which would’ve cost dang near as much as the tricorder itself!
Tumblr media
This very high cost resulted in not many of these tricorders flying off the store shelves.  A great deal of these were returned from department stores to Mego’s warehouse in Bohemia, NY (which was just down the street from my grandmas house; had I known this back then I would’ve made a little excursion there).
The story goes that 20 or so years ago close to two hundred of these tricorders, as well as other Mego Star Trek toys, were found inside an abandoned house that was getting renovated.  All the toys were department store returns, and thus - except for some aging on the boxes - in pretty darn good condition.
Whoever found those toys had a small fortune.  The tricorder is now going for around $250 on eBay.

I now own property. The sale went through very quickly. I guess the only other people buying right now are property speculators, and even they're not buying small buinesses near Red Zones. So, now I have a place to store bodies, and it was incredibly cheap!
Aside from the refrigerated units, the property also has a warehouse, an attached office with a bathroom, and a small parking lot. It's all behind a tall, sturdy cement wall and metal security gate, so there shouldn't be any chance of anything suspicious being seen, either.
No idea what I'm going to do with the extra space yet, but for now I'll be loading bodies I gathered last night into a borrowed van, and those will be going straight into the fridges!
