between the wedding and three weeks later? yeah, he might think about it – just a little.

might think about her dress, the shape of her body beneath it. the way it fell from her hips – just slipped down over her curves and pooled at her feet like venus emerging from the ocean. might think about her naked body: how, until that night, he’d only ever wondered about it – stealing sideways glances over the fence at her little shorts and tight vest tops. but now…now, he knows what she looks like. he’s seen her undress for him.

but it makes it worse – the fact he shouldn’t be doing it. shouldn’t be relieving the heavy weight between his legs in the morning with the memory of her lips closing around his fingers, playing on a reel behind his eyelids.

shouldn’t be staring into space while he’s driving, hearing her giggles once they’d finished; feeling her nails as she drew shapes on his sweat-sticky chest. shouldn’t be thinking about her wandering around with his baby inside of her; her body growing ‘n changing all ‘cause of what they did together.

ya in nicos podcast, daniel and him talked about how important it is to have a good relationship with ur engineer. daniel said it was hard adjusting to a new relationship after RB. daniel said he feeds off their energy (in general), for his win in monaco for ex, when his engineer sounded defeated that was discouraging so daniel kinda wanted it quiet after bc he had this mindset of “its ok, i got this, i know what to do now”. nico was talking abt how engineers just see them as robots sometimes😅 and how he literally had to have a talk with his engineer about how he needs to be more encouraging bc if affects his performance.

Oh fascinating! I have admittedly not listened to nico's podcast (lol) but I've heard the Daniel episode is actually quite good.

But yeah this makes sense! I kind of see engineers as almost being in a coach role? You have to know how to communicate effectively with your team in order to get the right performance out of them, and be their eyes and ears of the bigger picture and schemes so they can just... play.

KYP (know your personnel) is like rule 1 of sports. I think the driver/engineer relationship is SO fascinating and can be that final thing that makes or breaks a driver's performance.

I wish they did more longform stuff on the engineers. I would LOVE a beyond the grid with GP for example.

but RBR didnt build car around Max? I dont get why this is still a narative people have and spread when Newey himself said thats nonsense and several other team engineers and mechanics said it too (as will literally any other motorsport professional tell you because that just common sense)

they design and build the car to go as fast as possible and its not any drivers fault if their driving style goes hand in hand with cars characteristics (esp the ones that make it as fast as it is - ie understeer car vs oversteer car)

Checos driving style is clashing with characteristics that make RB19 fast (further proved with how 22 started what RB18 characteristics were then and how badly Max was doing in comparison) and that doesnt make him a bad driver just a driver thats in the wrong team/car

oh hello that makes sense too! then it’s just max being born in the red bull lmao. and yeah, then checo and the rb16b were an amazing combo but him and the rb18&19 are not. any ideas what car checo would match well with then? or is that hard to judge as an outsider given the recent regulation changes and everything?
