16. Opinions - Blind Channel

Okay I have a few ideas sooo... Could maybe be about bullying and then set in a high school/college/university setting bc yk people having opinions about one of the guys and yeah kinda dragging him down with that

Drama because maybe two of the guys are in a relationship and either they make it public because they're tired of keeping it a secret but things don't go as planned at all and they get a lot of criticism and hate from newspapers and stuff OR it's a secret relationship and people start rumors about it and share their opinions on it without being asked OR there is no relationship going on but because they are the way they are and super comfortable around each other people start to talk and one thing leads to another

Honestly this is super hard because it already has a "gender" in the title and it's not the one I'd usually go for when writing bc 😅

Maybe genderbent with one of the bc guys and it's probably rather set in a teenage situation and they are going through their "phase" and have to deal with the reactions people have about you as soon as you look a certain way and whatnot but maybe then they meet one of the other guys (probably with their "normal" gender) at a concert or something and idk...i guess realize they aren't alone and there are others around that are the same and feel the same??

When your coffin gets opened and all the Fazer chocolate falls out (weird transport choice for you and your souvenirs from Finland, but hey, travelling is expensive nowadays).

Maybe we just have to befriend a vampire, they can either sponsor our Finland + Lapland + chocolates + tattoos trip with their centuries-old money or they can smuggle us along in their coffin so we can at least save the transport + possibly accomodation money.

Maybe they realized the backlash last year when it came out they didn't accept EC and why was bad enough that it ruined their reputation more and more and even people who where kinda indifferent towards it before where now getting mad too, and that's why decided to include 1 metal song at least to show hey look we heard you, aren't we good?🙃

What was the reasoning they gave? I'm still learning about the different qualifiers but I follow EC so that's one I've heard of.

I have doctor Niko/Joel brainworms now because of you. But like Niko who makes sure Joel is healthy with eating, giving him great tips because there’s a lot he doesn’t like, and whenever Niko is not working night shifts, he stays over at Joel’s because then he sleeps better, but he never gives Joel a hard time for his habits, just maybe nudges him not to drink that tenth cup of coffee of the day. And even though he’s teasing he just as much likes caring for his boyfriend😊 And maybe Joel likes bun Niko with a coat just as much as us😳 Or maybe he even takes some fear off Joel towards doctors (for sure would help me)

But oh, these are so cute ideas 🥺❤️ he would definitely be the caring boyfriend spiced up with some teasing manners (and bun and white coat 👀) and take care of Joel in a way that doesn't make Joel feel like child. ❤️ And it is two way road, Joel would help Niko to relax when work is hectic and he has hard time forgetting some poor patient he doesn't know how to help or who he couldn't help at all. 🥺

And Niko would definitely help Joel come over his fear of doctors at least little bit! Who could stay afraid of someone with soft bun (totally askew after some.. physical therapy session) and friendly, sunshine smile. And white coat turns out to be just hot on him and not scary 👀

Honestly BIG WORM and I'm gonna need you and everyone else to stop calling me out so much. You just accurately described my two moods when using dating apps, y'know, back before I gave up on them because the only thing they really do is make me anxious and misanthropic. BUT ANYWAY!

YES! You get it, Aleksi definitely strikes me as the type to be all "sure, having someone sounds nicer than not having someone but I'm not gonna make it my main priority, I have stuff to do" and then on the other hand…Joel. Poor Joel, anxious and rejection-sensitive and worrying he ruined it every time someone doesn't immediately reply to a message he sent, just waiting for a response and suffering. A day goes by, two days, three days, oh, he's definitely been ghosted this time! What did he do? Did he say something stupid? Did he talk too much? Did he take too long to reply and Aleksi moved on? And then a week later Aleksi comes back and gives a nice detailed answer and asks more questions, only to then dip again. Rinse and repeat. Joel has no idea what to make of the mixed messages and he is struggling.

Bonus: the other guys all tell him to stop replying already, this weird DJ kid clearly only bothers to respond when he's bored and has no one better to talk to and Joel deserves someone who considers him a priority, not an option! But aside from the delays, it's the most interesting conversation Joel's had on that hell app in months so is he really willing to drop that?

I would love some references for the new fic. I have only read the end notes yet and my imagination is shit so I think knowing how exactly it looks would make reading it easier. Also historic fashion is very interesting!

okay so the stays could be either just a support garment like the left image or they could be part of the actual dress, like on the right image. they give that conical shape that was popular in the pre-corset era, and also bore the weight of the outer layers or had things pinned to them to keep everything in place! so in pirates of the caribbean when elizabeth is complaining about her ‘corset’ it’s not a corset. those didn’t exist until the 19th century. also tight lacing wasn’t a thing really, because the eyelets were all hand stitched. metal eyelets are also a 19th century invention, so before they were used women just didn’t lace themselves especially tightly. stays were time consuming and fiddly to make, and tight lacing would have torn the lacing eyelets. (also tight lacing wasn’t even much of a thing until the 1890’s, because before then a narrow waist was achieved with wide skirts and sleeves - dresses got a lot narrower and to achieve a dramatic silhouette a narrower waist was trendy. but it still wasn’t as popular as it first seems.) they were often stiffened with reeds, so they weren’t as rigid as they first seem, but they’re still pretty durable and hefty.

panniers were what made the dresses so wide! hey could make the dress into a wide and more dramatic shape or be smaller and more naturalistic, and like with the bottom image they could be fully enclosed, theoretically allowing them to be pockets, which i did for joel. but usually pockets were just separate bags tied to the wait to go over the panniers. their name comes from the wicker baskets slung over mules and donkeys and other such pack animals, and these days we see them on bikes!

a stomacher was a panel that covered the stays. they were often super decorative, sometimes perhaps the most decorative part of a gown, and they were fixed with little pins, and you can see the tabs on the left one where the pins would have gone through. i think they’re super pretty 😅😅

a robe á l’anglais was also called an english nightgown or a close bodied gown . they closed in the front, and were far less elaborate than their french counterpart, which i will go into on a reblog because of the photo limit on mobile 😅 they could be fully closed down the front or open to reveal a petticoat, and the ones in the photos i believe are both printed cotton, which was slowly becoming more available and cheaper due to plantations in america. before that the cotton was from india, and a lot pricier. as you can see in the image on the right, they followed the line of the body in the back, which the french robes didn’t.

Only saw you post about BC meetings fans now and have to say I agree hard with some of what you said. I was elated when it was announced concerts would be allowed again (and then super stumped when they just kept getting canceled whereas in other countries I could watch people go on several concerts in a month) but I was still so wary and sceptical because like covid isn't over yet?? Not at all?? Germany is battling with the highest count of cases in the whole of pandemic atm?

When I saw the first pics of them face to face with fans without masks I was like are you fucking stupid?! Sure it doesn't look as nice on the picture but you don't want to get sick right? And I am still feeling so uncomfortable knowing I will be in a room with hundreds of people of whom some of them will have covid because they're assholes and most of them won't wear a mask (which I will do) and people have the audacity to complain they are not meeting fans anymore? Do they want them getting sick? Do they want that they have to interrupt the tour because someone got covid? I really don't get it. It's like people switch off their minds once their get the opportunity to see a "celebrity". Some people have to catch up with reality I am afraid.

But I also feel like Blind Channel themselves are being hypocrites. They have to be aware that they are responsible for gathering that crowd too (more so during their headlining tour than just supporting), and that (unmasked) concerts aren't safe at the moment. 🤷

Even if they stay on stage they are still in the same indoor venue as a few hundred up to 6000 people, creating one giant covid bubble all breathing on each other. Because like you said there's gonna be sick people unmasked in the crowd.

It's also not like BC are wearing masks when stepping out to meet fans and are then asked to remove them. They themselves decide not to wear them in the first place 😬

Sure fans are being stupid but how can you blame them completely if BC are being stupid too? 🙄

Plus, they are already back to meeting fans. mfs with the moral backbone of a chocolate eclair 😂😂
