actually tho all jokes aside. maybe this is just me as a wesley crusher apologist but like. this season doesn’t work for me without him at alllllllllllllll. like hey, old tng crew, while you’re all hand-wringing about CHILDREN and LEGACY and how you’re all BOUND TOGETHER does not one of you consider the kid you ALL had a hand in raising? the one who’s already had to grapple with getting the good and the bad from you all, and have ups and downs in his relationships with you all? is it truly only those you’re biologically related to who you live on through - even if you just met them a week ago? you all try so hard to balance ~starship family~ with ~real family~ and yet can’t be bothered to remember the kid who was BOTH?

🎈 ───── beverly was positive that there were eyes on her, and in all her time be it fashion industry or something else she was quick to pick up on that feeling. she could never exactly explain it but these sense of disturbance, or unease was often easy to pick up. then again her life was overly complex wasn't it? from childhood on. hard to explain though she didn't really know how or what to explain. she turned trying to keep her attitude out of her sentence as she adjusted her arms across her midsection.... you had spent the entire rest of that second day in bed. you canceled the meeting you had planned, and just sat in bed. you slept a little, cried a little, and most of all, you had texted with tom occasionally. he checked in almost every hour of the day.

when you woke up the day after that, you woke up to no notifications. so you decided to check social media. bad idea. after a few scrolls, another post from tmz popped up. but it wasn't about you and tom. instead, it read:

RACHEL ZEGLER AND TOM BLYTH DATING RUMORS ARISE.

you couldn't breath, but you couldn't stop yourself, so you scrolled more.

THESE TWO STARS SEEM TO BE DATING, HERES ALL THE PROOF YOU NEED.

you simply began to cry. with tears in your eyes, you clicked on every link you saw. social media was sucking you in. each and every article had photos of them, the way they looked at each other, the way they were each single, the way he hugged her. god. the way he hugged her. even you had noticed it. the only time he had ever given you something similar to that was two nights ago, after the party. you felt the tears finally run down your cheek.

he had told you. he had told you that he wanted you. well, he had told you enough. and now, a little over a day later, people are talking about them. the movie had been out for weeks now. why are people suddenly all over them? even press was done. it was confusing. it was confusing, and shocking, and it was really stressing you out. worst of all, tom hadn't reached out. not once. it was already noon. so either he was ignoring you, or he was somehow not up yet, even though told you he always wakes up early. one of those sounded more plausible.

you felt like throwing your phone across the room. of course the texts started coming in, from your friends. but none from rachel. none from tom. so you did. you threw your phone on to the edge of the bed, and got up. to distract yourself, you were going to take a self care day.

extensive skincare, a bath with soaks, everything shower, hair routine. the works. you started with your hair routine. there was something soothing about putting so much effort into yourself. that got you thinking. there was no reason to put this effort into yourself, and not show it off.

you were going to pull a princess diana "revenge dress."

it took almost four hours to do everything. you picked out an amazing outfit that you had been saving for a "special day." you just had it ready, waiting in your closet. it had been there for almost a year now, and today was the day you were going to wear it. you thought it was pretty badass.

when you fixed your hair and fixed your lashes, and finally sprayed your perfume, you were ready. you were going to go shopping. treat yourself. and you were going to make sure people saw you. by that, you, or one of your friends, was going to alert the paparazzi. you were going to shop up and down rodeo drive.

you got in your car, got to beverly hills, parked, and started your day. starting at hermes, you bought yourself a bracelet, a blanket, and a scarf. your favorite associate was working, and they had let you in on the fact that they had a birkin bag. in store, and they wanted to give it to you. even better. when you finally checked out, owning your new birkin. when you left the store, there were paparazzi. and lots of them. it was perfect.

with the paparazzi following, you made your way to chanel. you decided to only purchase one thing there. next, was prada. you purchased a pair of loafers, a bag, and a few pieces of clothes. the crowd was getting bigger and bigger with each store you left. the security guards of the stores eventually had to help you get in and out.

Leaving prada, you crossed the street. it was time for van cleef and arpels. you had always wanted a piece. and today was the day you were going to get it. when you walked in, they greeted you and showed you to the necklaces. but you already knew what you wanted. the 10 motif. the vintage alhambra necklace. it was your dream necklace. if not now, then when?

at some point during the checkout, you became hesitant. but that quickly went away. the second you stopped thinking about your plan, you would think about tom. and rachel. so, you kept shopping. you didn't want to deal with that right now. however, you figured this was going to be your last stop. you starting struggling to carry the bags.

when you took your card out of the reader, and they handed you your bag, you took a breath. then, you went outside. it was a long walk back to your car, with the paparazzi. you took another deep breath, and made your way outside. this time, they started talking to you. you heard things along the lines of:

"what have you bought?"

"what are you wearing?"

"why the sudden spree?"

"is this about rachel and tom?" that one caught your ear. you turned to the man who had asked it, looked in his camera, and shrugged. then, you walked away. you made it all the way to your car, silent, without answering any questions. when you got to the parking garage, you made sure no one got in the elevator with you. what you didn't need, was people following you home.

you took the back alley out, so they wouldn't find you.

when you got home, you pr team was not very happy with you. because, just like you planned, people were talking about this. and yes, they were getting the idea you had planted. not five minutes after you got home did you see posts:

ACTRESS Y/N TREATS HERSELF AFTER DATING RUMORS OF HER CO-STAR ARISE.

THEY WERE OUT TO COFFEE. NOW, HE'S RUMORED TO BE DATING SOMEONE ELSE, AND SHE DOES NOT SEEM HAPPY ABOUT IT.

SHOPPING SPREE AFTER RUMORS REMINDS FANS OF PRINCESS DIANA. that one was your favorite. clearly, you had gotten your point across perfectly. you felt empowered. and this was perfect, because you were going to have to see tom, rachel, and josh at the golden globes tomorrow. while none of you were nominated, you, along with the cast, were invited. hopefully tom would do the talking tomorrow.

after an entire afternoon of calls from your agents and pr team yelling at you for your behavior, you began to slump back into sadness. you really were devastated, and it was hitting you now. neither of them had made a post yet, denying what was going on, which only fueled the fire more. also, your little stunt was hitting tiktok, which meant even more of your friends began to notice what you did. you got a little overwhelmed. maybe the impulsive move was a mistake. you realized that this may have made tom upset, or even rachel.

you had no idea what was going to happen tomorrow. there was a part of you that was excited, but there was also a part of you that just wanted to hide away again. you weren't sure which feeling was going to prevail tomorrow night. .

Eddie gets to the hospital after the events of Ch.2 and everyone is freaking out, but at least he’s alive (Stan’s alive too no it’s not important to this post, but it is to me). He doesn’t have his wallet, phone, or IDs on him and none of the Losers know how to phone Myra, so everyone’s just kind of tip-toe-ing around how and when they’ll break the news to her, for better or for worse.

After a while, the nurses come out to the waiting room like “The patient is in stable condition, but we can only let a select few visitors in at this time until he is fully conscious. Are any of you related to the patient?”

Before anyone can even blink, Richie’s already stood up and blurted out “I’m his husband.”

Queue the Losers being absolutely in shock before Beverly and Stan swoop in like “yep, it was a beautiful wedding” “absolutely stunning” “can Richie go see him, now?”

Richie is horrified at himself. Somehow this works long enough before someone does get ahold of Myra and all Hell breaks loose.

Aina would be sooooo excited for MC (esp if it's someone she knows). She's the type to go a bit overboard and wants to help MC with prep :] She'd be squeeling, jumping around and giggling until she tackles MC in a hug with how happy she is for them.

Aina with a crush would still be happy bjt her happiness is dimmed. She wants the best for MC so she'll smile and nods but she will be eating a lot of sweets when she gets home. She'd also let MC know abt her feelings before they get in a proper couple 🤭 She thinks it'll help her move on !

Unlike, Aina, Beverly is pretty quiet but she's protective. She'd be glaring at whoever is asking MC out but also trying to see if she could sense anything about them. I think if it was someone "normal" She'd even advise MC against that. All in all would still be happy for a friend even if it's not the most sound decision.

Now, a crushing Beverly? She's someone who struggles a lot with her feelings so when she tugs MC away from whomever asked them out, she doesn’t quite realize it. I think it could easily lead to one of their first fights with Bev saying shes the one who understands MC best! If MC refused to hear her out, she'd stomp away. But if they stay, they'd get Bev opening up about her own feelings ask them to wait for her.

Benji would be happy for a friend MC to be asked out if a little embarrassed because that should probably not be his business 😳 He'd wish them good luck with a smile and that'd be that. He's very easy-going.

If he was crushing on MC, well unfortunately Benji is used to make himself past last, but shouldn't he have a right to fight for what he wants also? And with this question in mind, He'd watch the scene. As soon as he can, he'd ask MC if that's what they want, much more concerned abt them than he is of himself. He'd leave them with a kiss on the forehead, a little good bye to his own love.

Hez is a little shithead and would start to tease MC endlessly. He'd be happy for them but he's obviously not telling them that now. Later when they're alone and sharing a lil moment.

For a crushing Hez, it'd start about the same, teasing but it's more like barbs than it is playful. It's directed at both MC and the person that's asking them out. He's mean like a bad dog when he's nervous or whatever<3 He's liable to grab MC wrist to drag them a few ways away to ask if they like him and will grin smugly should the answer be in his favor.

star trek update time!! last night we watched tng's "rightful heir" and ds9's "the forsaken."

rightful heir (tng):

they were high when they wrote this one. like worf on whatever he was on to try and make him hallucinate

what's really funny about this one is that we were both just complaining that, even though we both like worf, we found the klingon episodes a little rough/dry. and then what do they do. they have worf hallucinate clone jesus

actually, i was really surprised picard laid into him so hard for being late to work. i know it was a tough-love kind of deal bc toughness "speaks" to worf or whatever and it was supposed to seem "nice" because he let worf go on a little field trip afterward but also like. who yells.

i did like that they referenced the klingon prison camp episode. girl i'd still be feeling that one too

clone jesus as a plot is really insane. like, it's already insane that everybody bought into it and GOWRAN of all people was the one to be like "you chumps are getting snowed." but then he's just a CLONE? they grew jesus in a vat somewhere? in a little test tube? and then they crowned him emperor??

no, scratch that, worf threatened to KILL people if they DIDN'T crown him emperor even though he was just going to be a figurehead because this is somehow supposed to fix the amoral klingons who have fallen into decadence. horrific.

side note. s6 has had a LOT of single-character episodes. we had some picard centric eps some worf centric eps a deanna centric ep and a beverly centric ep...when do we get the fucking gang back together? i feel like i never see them all at once anymore. like don't get me wrong i loved beverly's little romp and i feel like this way allows slightly more of the character work i have been craving but the format change is so weird. can we not have a little character work without singling out one character at a time? pretty please?

the forsaken (ds9):

i am sighing the deepest longest sigh i have ever sighed. my mixed feelings...

ok, to start with, i hate when tng characters show up in ds9. it's like they bring the bad vibes with them. BUT this is the least i've ever hated lwaxana.

i think the version of lwaxana as presented IN THIS EPISODE ONLY is very nearly a likable character. unfortunately, i have context for her

the flirting has actually grown on me. like, when she's doing it harmlessly. y'all know isabela from da2? like that. what i have a problem with is her being so touchy-feely - leaning into peoples space or trying to snuggle up with them or take them by the arm. the flirting IN AND OF ITSELF is actually kind of cute/sweet if you divorce it from the context of a horrifically overbearing mother and a woman who is narcissistic and can't take no for an answer. "i can swim" like ok girl i admit you have game. i just wish she would do less TOUCHING.

ok, on to odo, the real star of this episode. odo my new best friend odo

i actually think trapping him in an elevator to force him to turn into goop in front of someone else is a VERY clever premise. and at first i really wished it hadn't been with lwaxana but the more i thought about it the more i realized no one else on ds9 would do. in order for it to work it would have to be both someone who is a little pushy/loud/not totally respectful of his private nature AND someone who could offer a similar vulnerability ie taking off the wig. anyone who's too tactful/respectful of odo/a grownup in general like sisko, kira, dax, obrien, etc would simply turn around and leave him be. anyone who's NOT respectful or a grownup in general (i'm thinking specifically of quark, but julian could probably also work for this) doesn't have a metaphorical wig to take off. like, it would have been great ship material for him to be in there with quark or kira (i know about odo/kira bc i got spoiled, i am a little skeptical but VERY intrigued), but neither of them would have had the same vibe. so i am forced to conclude against my will that lwaxana was the right choice after all.

unfortunately a stranger is also easier to tell crazy shit to...and i looooooved learning crazy shit about odo's past, by which i mean i gasped aloud and covered my mouth with both hands in horror. HE SPENT HIS CHILDHOOD IN A LAB EXCEPT HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A CHILDHOOD!!! he doesn't EAT. his mouth is an approximation of one, it doesn't actually work!!! lwaxana, do you know then what else must be a nonfunctional approximation? actually, maybe he doesn't even have any of that going on. maybe he's smooth like a ken doll and that's why he keeps expressing disinterest in sex/romance, or because he has disinterest in sex/romance he never bothered to figure out how to replicate a working set of equipment. anyway the point is i know my king is somewhere on the aro and/or ace spectrum i just have to get to know him better to figure out where

in conclusion, yes it had to be lwaxana, NO i'm not happy about it, but i could have been if she was just less touchy. also, side bar, i don't like that she brought up the ferengi rape episode like it was haha funny. girl it wasn't funny to you at the time and it was definitely not funny to ME

TONGIHT: tng's "second chances" (this one looks good...i'm so hopeful) and ds9's "dramatis personae" (i haven't seen a summary or thumbs for this one but i trust ds9)

I just think about everyone running their hands through Richie's hair. And yeah, Richie's hair pulling kink - we know. But this is a very soft affection thing, Bev playing with his bang in the morning while they wait for the coffee pot to give them their life blood. Mike petting his head as they read together. Ben playing with a tuft as they sit in their garden. Bill running his fingers through his strands as they bath together. Stan twirling his curls in his fingers while they talk. Eddie fluffing his mane with a towel for him after a shower and dutifully and carefully brushing his hair for him. Domestic bliss for Richie 💕💕
