Seeking some cat help:
My female cat was allowed outside loose in her foster home and I can tell she wants out. She has a 10x12 foot outdoor enclosure she’s allowed in any time, lots of toys and play and attention, her little brother to play with (who she just hates instead) but she seems really unhappy and fixated on going out. I’ve never had an indoor only cat before and I feel like a monster, I don’t know how to make her happy. I live in Tennessee and there are so many creatures dangerous to cats here, we’re in the country so the road isn’t an issue but like… everything from poison ivy to coyotes is. I feel like I should never have gotten a cat. Is she depressed? Does she feel trapped? How do people with indoor cats do it?

I hate to ask this, but we're going through it and it doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon. In order to get Bagel's prescription food he needs to be seen again. I know many of us are struggling, so if you could kindly even signal boost this, I'd appreciate it.
We all thank you.

Anyone have any tips for taming semi-feral very very scared kitties? I just adopted a mostly socialized cat and she’s had a hellish week- poor girl traveled all the way from Hawaii and is struggling to settle into her home and I’d love to help put her at ease the best I can. She’s currently in a nest in the bathroom with everything she needs, she’s just very hidey. Never had to socialize a cat before so anybody who’s had experience feel free to give me some pointers!

Is anyone on here good with cat behavior?
A friend dropped off a stray kitten with us on Sunday. I've been keeping her separate from our 8-year-old cat Mobii, and I slowly introduced her scent to him on a towel. He reacts fine to the scent, and he's been acting less stressed, so we wanted to try the next step and introduce them through a mesh carrier. But every time we bring her out in the carrier Mobii gets visually tense and then hides under the bed. Does anyone know what else we can do to help Mobii become accustomed to a new housemate?

Hello friends! I know I do not post here a lot, but I would just like to ask for some help. My car was totaled, and I need a car for work to pay for my animals and pay towards getting a new car. I am trying to pay off this car while also trying to get away from my family, who keeps trying to take my money for the car payments.
If you cant donate, then that is perfectly fine, sharing it around would also help!
If it would help, anyone who does donate can get whatever they want drawn, be it a fandom, ocs, or even ships! Anything is on the table!

Hey I'm sorry but I think I need some help. I woke up like half an hour ago to feed my cats and my son, Moxxie, is showing symptoms of a bowl obstruction. He's had one before and he's doing the same thing as last time. I legit only have 3 cents in my account rn and panicking.
It's almost 6am, the emergency vet doesn't think he needs to swing by there ATM and recommends we see our reg vet when they open in 2 hrs. Which I know I won't be able to afford.
So I'm asking for some help. Any little bit helps, and if I don't need it for him I'm gonna refund it.
Sorry to ask this

I wanna share a resource I found to other cat lovers and caretakers, a list made by a vet who actually cares about what their cat eats! It’s a list of wet cat foods with the amount of protein, fat, carbohydrates, phosphorus, and calories per can of food.
It reveals a LOT about bullshit in pet food. The number one thing is how cat food, ideally, needs to have 0% carbs. I typically go max 10% carbs.
High protein is best, especially for elderly cats. A lot of kidney health and geriatric diets have VERY LOW PROTEIN, which will kill your cat fast. Minimum of 35% protein is good, the higher the better. Low protein is what makes elderly cats so frail and bony, no protein means no muscles.
Fat isn’t generally something to fret over unless you have an obese cat. Carbohydrate levels are a bigger concern honestly. Cats that have trouble keeping on weight should get higher fat alongside protein.
Phosphorus, NOT protein, is linked to kidney disease, specifically high phosphorus. I typically aim for under 400mg per 100kcals, but since my kitty is 15, lower is better.
There are bad additives for cats! Of course each kitty has sensitivities, but tuna should never be a staple in a cat’s diet, which disqualifies a TON of otherwise fantastic cat food, including almost all of Tiki Cat AND Weruva’s foods. Fish in general should be a minimum, as it’s also a tad addictive for cats, especially saltwater fish for the metal contents.
Calories really depend on a lot of factors, but generally the average cat needs around 150-200kcals a day iirc. Bigger cats need more, older cats may need less, kittens and nursing/pregnant mothers need more!
My general value guidelines for my picks are:
- NO TUNA
- Min 35% Protein
- Min 30% Fat
- Max 10% Carbohydrates
- Max 400mg Phosphorus per 100kcal
And here’s the lovely list!
(P.S. Cats do not belong outside unaccompanied and free to roam and kill. That’s why the average lifespan has stayed lower, and why we see constant extinctions. This isn’t up for debate. If you let your cat out to free roam you are a bad person. I am not talking about barn/farm cats, which still are an issue, but do serve a purpose on a working farm.)

Hey Cat Tumblr and possibly @pangur-and-grim - I found this kitten in a tree last night and am trying to find his parents but what the hell is this coat color? He's got like a grey base coat and very dark brown guard hairs, it's so funky

YOU! Stop there! Is your cat getting enough water?
Cats can be extremely finicky (as everyone who has one around knows) and it's so important to make sure they get enough water. Cats were essentially desert/survival animals before they decided to just vibe in our homes, so they can be prone to not drinking much just overall, but they still need to!
I've spent a lot of time with trial and error- and here's some things I wanted to share about making sure they drink enough, to have healthy kidneys, bladders, and overall all their organ functions!
TRY:
-Testing lots of materials for their drinking bowls! My cats aren't fans of classics like; Stainless Steel, Ceramic, or Plastic, and won't drink out of them. What worked for me, is a transparent glass cookware pan! I have to use a heavy, clear glass device, or my cats will throw the bowl in REJECTION. Try out different things!
-MOVE THE BOWL ACROSS THE HOME. Cats do NOT like their water beside their food- At least any cat I've had! Move it somewhere water runs anyway, and they know about it, such as the bathroom! They are happy to see me use running water every morning from the bathroom where it's always running, and they don't like it beside their food.
-Don't rely on fads. Running water fountains noise making have just scared my cats off- and they don't enjoy them. Your cat may love them, but make sure to evaluate if you ever actually see your cats drinking from things like this. (also they scare me as fire starters!)
-Try letting your cat drink from other places to see where he likes it best. Water somehow tastes different from different faucets, see which one they like the best!
-Try gravy/wet soft foods. My cats love gravy the MOST, and it's essentially their treat each night (Because casual treats and catnip make them aggressive yikes) but I appreciate it, because of its water content! I know they're still getting another liquid in their diet.
Keeping your cat, and yourself hydrated, is SO important! Please make sure they're drinking, give them fresh water daily and all that they desire. Likewise: Make sure your cat isn't incessantly chugging water non-stop, because that could sign a different underlying issue! Take care of your pets 💕
(If your dog has trouble drinking water idk any tips my dog is a water chugging machine. I had to get her a like Hamster Bottle type of water bottle bc she throws bowls everywhere if that helps LOL)

!!! HELP ZIGGY SURVIVE !!!
Tumblr media
I don’t have much hope for this but I have to try.
Most of you know I found a sick baby cat last year and nursed him back to health (or so we thought). I couldn’t find anyone to adopt him so I basically did, though I already have three cats and a terminally ill dog.
He had corona virus when I found him, but he got over it and things were looking up until about ten days ago, when his fever suddenly spiked and he stopped eating. We went to the vet the same day but instead of helping him they made matters infinitely worse by giving him ibuprofen for his fever. A week later he got worse, I took him to another clinic today and sadly he was diagnosed with FIP. For those who don’t know FIP (feline infectious peritonitis) is a 100% deadly and is only treated with an extremely expensive drug for 84 days during which you can’t miss or postpone a single injection.
The vets I took him to today are worried that he won’t be able to handle the drug due to his kidney condition, so he’s gonna need support therapy for his kidneys and liver, which will make the treatment even more expensive.
I’m starting a new job tomorrow and I’ll get paid at the end of next month AT THE EARLIEST. I can barely scrape money together for his first dosage which will last for no more than three days. Each dose costs about 100$ and will increase as he gains weight.
I realize there’s a lot of schemes about sick pets circulating which really sucks for the ones that are actually ill and in need of help and trusting strangers online is hard but PLEASE, I’m begging you, help me keep this poor baby alive, he’s been through so much!
I’m willing to do commissions, craft projects and pretty much anything! I just have to get him through this first month, then I’ll use every cent I earn to finish the treatment even if it means starving!
I’m uploading his tests, I’ll be uploading his progress and daily vet visits, I’m willing to answer any questions you might have.
Even if you can’t donate, PLEASE, spread this, anything helps!

I’m adding his tests under the cut ↓

Litter Recommendation for Cat with Diabetes
Hey guys, I really need some help with the litter situation for my cat. One of my cats, Evie, 5 years old, was recently diagnosed with diabetes. The consistency of her urine has changed along with how frequently she goes. What I’d been using previously, Fresh Step Premium Crystals, doesn’t cut it anymore, as it doesn’t absorb her urine and it just sinks to the bottom of the litter boxes. I’m really needing help what types/brands of litter I should change to that can help absorb her urine better.
Can y’all help me and my cats please?
